Okay, here we go. I’m gonna start with tv shows:

Shows marked with * - We are forced to watch them every year. Radio Television of Serbia reruns them over and over again. Everyone knows them by heart. Lots of memes are from these shows.

Shows marked with # - Sport-related.

Italics - War-related shows (not necessarily historically accurate nor based on real events)

Bold - Main characters do not speak standard Serbian. Bela lađa is a show about an uneducated politician, he often uses wrong words and cases. Selo gori, a baba se češlja is a show depicting village life in Serbia, so characters speak in dialect. I thought I should mention this, for people who are learning the language.

Also, lots of these were movies before they were turned into tv shows, so if you want a shorter version, you can just watch a movie. 

Note: I haven’t watched all of these, I asked around a little since I wanted to make a more comprehensive list. I’ve heard that Senke nad Balkanom is really good, my friend described it as ‘’Serbian Peaky Blinders’’ (her words, not mine).

Like with the tv shows, I haven’t watched all of these movies, making this list was a team effort. I’d personally recommend Nebeska udica, Hadersfild and Lajanje na zvezde.

I can also suggest following @/koncipirano on Instagram, they post screencaps from Serbian movies and tv shows and they write the name of the movie / tv show in question so you might get some ideas there as well.

Predivan prizor na jednoj zgradi, u još predivnijem ambijentu, snažno nas je pogodio

Nebojša Glogovac, jedan od najvećih srpskih glumaca, koji nas je prerano napustio, dobio je ubrzo nakon smrti mural u Užicu.

    Na zidu je, pored lika Glogovca, ispisana replika iz filma “Nebeska udica”: “Sine, znaš kako se postaje pravi šampion? Tako što izađeš na teren kada je najgore… I pobediš.”

  Ipak, ne…
