i’m actually in the process of watching it rn but i’m actually so amazed at how genuine and funny they are?? usually a lot of groups (excluding survival show groups) take a while to warm up to the cameras and talk to them and be natural around them and their members in front of them, but you can really tell how comfortable bnd are with each other and even though they’re warming up the the cameras, they’re so cute about it and so natural and outgoing that it’s not awkward at all and so fun to watch! and on that note….

probably the community, because if i hadn't gotten into kpop i wouldn't have most of the online friends i have now that i can talk to about things that aren't always kpop either :)

for kpop itself, i'd say getting to see the idols interact—with fans, staff, or even their members (especially on live / unofficially). it's really sweet and heartwarming to see them be real people.

12. What fandom(s) were you in before getting into kpop? Are you still in them?

entertainment-wise, i was a hugee MCU fan. i'm not really much of a fan anymore (i stopped following after phase 3 because what even was shang chi lmao) but i still have most of my knowledge from my hardcore era 😂

music-wise, i liked lauv, halsey, and a bunch of other western artists! yes, i still listen to them now, but i've never been interested in these artist's lives or interactions or whatever

16. Which concepts do you love?

depends! i think i have a set concept in my mind for each group i stan, like i love upbeat, vibrant, youthful and bright concepts for nct dream; royalty, dark and old-fashioned concepts for wayv, and truly anything neo with flashy lights and weird lyrics for nct 127. for stray kids i think thunderous and noeasy concepts were some of my favs :)

personally, music and visuals wise, ballad type-aesthetic mvs are easiest for me to digest (e.g. hello future / broken melodies - nct dream)

You can find accs that post lore theories on X, which can be very insightful and entertaining, but otherwise Tumblr or local socmed platforms should have more "content to read". Simply due to nature of their design.

SM has many artists, plus there are many other companies that pop newer k-pop groups relentlessly. It is essential for each group to have their distinct colour to appeal to different demographies and audiences. Think of Spice Girls and their individual branding.

It also helps to get older SM fans to be interested in newer artists, stay loyal to the company. Newer idols don't replace the original biases, thet offer something new, something for a change or a different mood.

Dream still produces "neo" songs. If you compare their songs to other (non-SM) groups with a similar concept, you'll realise they are more complicated and intricate.

"Moonlight" is a Japanese release, a single, it's not a full comeback. Dream is on tour, while aespa has released their first full album after 4 years since debut. You can't compare these two events. Better wind back to 2021 and "Hot Sauce" era. ("Hot sauce" MV is closing on 200mln and "Hello future" has 111 mln views).

Every new group should be better promoted than the previous ones, otherwise, where is the growth and the use of gained experience from the company? Shinee introduced dance practices, NCT - track videos, now aespa develops a proper "cinematic universe" (with special movies and bigger lore than even EXO).
