on the topic of The Rot, another major instigator is feeling bad and numbing your way out of it, it´ll get you out of a pinch sure, but if theres even a bit of chance to decompress DO IT!!!! it doesnt matter if you think its something small, try and sort it out little by little or the entire floodgates at once

it might be messy and make you feel so unbearably little, like a child who still doesnt know where to put his huge feelings in such a tiny tiny body, but the truth is, even as we grow up, we´re just slightly larger vessels for infinitely bigger, stronger and more complex feelings

i did the whole putting off emotions for years and all it ever got me was an odd sense of numbness and disconnection that even now creeps up on me sometimes, nearly unnoticeable, and once it sets in its so incredibly hard to shake off, like a thick film between you and the real world until nothing feels real or like it matters anymore

there is no strength in avoidance, nor are you weak for it, but closing your heart to pain also has the curious effect of closing it off to joy, not the fleeting kind you get from obsessively consuming a peice of media or getting new stuff, etc..but the one that echoes bright and loud and makes you feel alive

I believe no one makes it out of this life unscathed, even the ones living the most tranquil of lives, and when you do chip and shatter, i pray theres people in your corner to help you pick up the peices.
