Volatile Times. Chapter 14. Natsai

“I really want to tell you, Natty, but if I do, I'll reveal more than just my secrets. I can't let it go anywhere beyond this room.” Onai, almost without thinking, stretched out her hand toward Nancy and drew her wand from the pocket of her robe. Her eyes gleamed ominously. “If you fear for the safety of your secret – I know one way," her voice sounded soft and mysterious, now Natsai even reminded her a little of Akello. “An unbreakable vow.” Nancy looked up at her in horror. Was Onai actually willing to go that far for her? Montgomery shook her head negatively. “I don't want to put you in that kind of danger, Natty. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, we can't do it alone, we need a third person to fulfill it," Natsai wilted a little at those words and hid her wand. “But I'll tell you everything, just promise me you won't tell anyone.” “Nancy, I swear," Natty answered at once. “I swear on our friendship that I won't tell your secret to anyone.” Swallowing the last of her tears, Nancy took a deep breath. There's no turning back. Natty was right – if she didn't let all those emotions out, she'd just fall deeper into the abyss from which she'd never get out. Montgomery made up her mind.

It's venting time! Or at least Nancy decided it was. Confused and lost, having made some really impulsive decisions, Montgomery finds herself finally talking about what's bothering her to Natty.
