Beijing To Host 2027 World Athletics Championships

World Athletics President Sebastian Coe: New Delhi, Feb 29 ( IANS) Beijing will host the 2027 World Athletics Championships, the global governing body of the sport has announced.The decision was made at the 234th World Athletics Council Meeting, held in Glasgow on Wednesday ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships, March 1-3. The 2027 World Athletics Championships will welcome the sport’s biggest stars back to the Beijing, 12 years on from the Chinese capital’s successful staging of athletics’ flagship event and almost two decades on from the Beijing Olympic Games. China will also host next year’s World Athletics Indoor Championships, in Nanjing. World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said: "Congratulations to Beijing on their successful bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2027, 12 years after our athletes lit up the National Stadium for the 15th edition of our global showpiece. "With a population of more than 1.4 billion, China is one of the biggest sports markets in the world. It was the top performer for Wanda Diamond League broadcast consumption in 2023 with a cumulative audience of 368.9 million. This poses a massive opportunity to grow our sport and fan base in one of the biggest commercial markets in the world. "With the announcement of China as our next host, our last four World Athletics Championships have now been awarded to the world’s four largest economies; the USA (Oregon), the EU (Budapest), Japan (Tokyo) and China (Beijing)." Wang Nan, World Athletics Council Member and Vice President of the Chinese Athletics Association (CAA), said: “Thank you to World Athletics for the recognition and trust in China and Beijing. The CAA will work together with the Beijing organising committee to make every effort to prepare for the championships, ensure that the championships will be held to the highest quality standard, and strive to present a wonderful World Athletics Championships to make more contributions to the development of athletics across the world.” The last edition of the World Athletics Championships was held in Budapest in August, while Tokyo will host the 2025 event. So this morning I was looking for coffee and Google brought me to this Amazon Cafe which is located inside the Sports Authority of Thailand area. So it's like our MSN in Bukit Jalil la. When I walked around the area, I felt like crying.. Why ppl can maintain until so nice one? And of course I took the opportunity to visit the Rajamangala National Stadium which is less than a KM away. And the Ramkhamhaeng University is just next to the National Stadium. Then I walked to this cafe by a narrow street. Good coffee and good dark chocolate cake. Got feel. And I also saw a "Clup" that can send you straight to the galaxy. Overall it was a good walk. OK that's all. OK don't find me. Saving my phone battery for tonight. Later Thai girl cannot call me tonight. Unforgettable experience @ Ed’s concert Singapapore 26th April 2019

So I woke up at 5.30am and reached the national stadium at 7.30am. Thank god there wasn’t much people cus’ it was a weekday and there’s still school and work for many people! I was the first few to reach at the gate thank goodness and when I was there, i met @sheeriouslysheerio . IT WAS SUCH A COINCIDENCE!! And it was freaking awesome to meet her, we were fangirling so much about meeting ed and seeing him later.

When the doors open everybody ran in and I managed to get to the barricade. It was really a dream come true. It feels super surreal, I was in tearing up abit 😭.

When Ed came out , I DIED SO MUCH INSIDE. HIS SMILE KILLED IT. I WAS PANICKING SO DAMN MUCH cus he was so near me. I was looking at him like oh god how can he be so perfect.. His orange hair, his tattoos were super HD.

Throughout the concert I saw Kevin and also Zak!! I didn’t manage to say hi tho cus they kinda walk by abit too fast and I didn’t know how to call them😭😭😭.

AND OH YA ABOUT MY SIGNBOARD ZAK SAW MY SIGN BOARD AND HE TOOK A PIC OF ME WITH IT!! He was walking past me and he stopped by, and took a pic of me with it. He signaled to me that he’s gonna take a pic and he took it. I melted so much 😭😭😭😭.

Ed sang GML, One, love yourself, Lego house, kiss me, tenerife sea. IT KILLED ME EVEN MORE . I finally got to hear GML live omg. Really a dream come true and a bucket list. The sad thing is he didn’t sing happier, but on a side note he sang many PLUS album songs !!

During YNMWIDNY he leaned foward to lip read all of us omg I RAPPED ALONG SOME OF THE LINES WITH IT, and we eyed contact as well I LITERALLY DIED INSIDE. 😭😭😭. The friends I made there were pointing my signboard when he came foward to Ed so he could see it, I was shaking so much, literally shaking.

After the concert everything feels so surreal. I’ve been waking up and feeling super upset and happy at the same time cus I was soooooo closed up to Ed and now i’m not😭. I seriously don’t know how am I going to recover from this, and I don’t think I would ever recover from this, it’s way tooooo much for me to handle, I literally died.

The people at the concert was pretty nice too, it’s really awesome to see so many sheerios over the world, like Taiwan, Italy, Malaysia, Hong Kong. It was amazing.

To be honest when the concert begin, I was expecting people to be pushing, but thank god there isn’t any!! Standing at the barricade have pros and cons. The pros are you can literally see SUPER DUPER HD ED SHEERAN and also they provide water when you’re infront. While the cons is that the sound quality is actually better if you stand further away from the stage. But overall it’s still awesome.

Waking up at 5.30am was really worth it. I seriously wanna thank Ed and his crew for coming back to Singapore. It’s really an unforgettable experience. I honestly don’t know how on earth do I love this ginger so much. How on earth can he be so perfectly perfect. He’s seriously the love of my life.

And also if you’re reading this till here, thank you so much for reading all these hehe, i’m so happy I could share these experience with you guys ✨

And now, it’s back to studying hard😭.
