I have been having a lot of dreams about bald eagles lately. Ever since I learned that the Trump administration was planning to strip key provisions from the Endangered Species Act, I have been feeling for our protected wildlife brothers and sisters. Even though bald eagles were removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species in 2017, OUR NATIONAL ANIMAL almost disappeared a few short decades ago. The Endangered Species Act is instrumental in protecting nesting sites and important feeding and roost sites for our bald eagles. Without this protection, they may come close to disappearing again. One of the symbols our country has chosen to represent our strength and resilience now risks losing its protection. Ditto ditto American bison (conservation status: near threatened). How can we trust our government's care if they overlook such a thing? Etc, etc, to infinity. I wonder if our "fearless leaders" have noticed but the irony is certainly not lost on me. 🦅 #baldeagle #nationalanimal #nationalsymbol #eagles #birdsofprey #birds #america #unitedstates #endangeredspeciesact #usfishandwildlifeservice #noaa #nationalparkssystem #nationalparksconservationassociation #environmentalprotectionagency #americanbison #inkdrawing #drawing #sketch #habitatprotection #protectourwildlife #protectouranimals #endangeredspecies #howdareyou #resistanddelist https://www.instagram.com/p/BnfvTBmhjCE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=to724cqhbc7r

The mission of the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) is to protect and enhance America's national parks for present and future generations. "We believe that America's national parks and historical sites embody the American spirit. They are windows to our past, homes to some of our rarest plants and animal species, and places where every American can go to find inspiration, peace, and open space." The NPCA advocates for the national parks by educating decision makers and the public about the importance of preserving the parks. Over the past 90 years, the group has represented more than 600,000 members and supporters. NPCA membership costs $25. (price includes a subscription to National Parks magazine).
