I watched Starship Troopers tonight.

#personal #dumb #my art #immediately after finishing i was pumped to watch some analysis vids on it #cuz i heard a lot of the drama about the original author being a pro military fascist and the director going “fuck that” and making a satir #scrolling through youtube search results was not promising. lots of male film buffs i would Not trust even on a first glance.#“The Critical Drinker” (pfp of a bearded man drinking alcohol) lol.#and then I saw cinemawins did a video on it and was like oh nice i haven't seen his stuff in a while but he's a pretty leftist creator #scrolled through the comments #second panel face #this sucks i'm outta here.#just leagues and leagues and leagues of anime pfps and right leaning people dogpiling on him for “not understanding what fascism is”#idk it's pretty alien and weird to me watching this movie and going “wow yeah that was pretty obvious huh” like literally the from opening #to the teacher preaching militance and only giving voting rights to “those who serve their nation first and earn it”#and then seeing droves of people online going #WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? It's not anti-fascist and even if it was it's #the director's fault for desecrating heinlein's incredible sci-fi epic vision. ermm media literacy is dead.

He’s a lot more secure in his identity/masculinity than ozai so he isn’t bothered by wearing traditionally female hairstyles and makeup, perhaps he even relishes in the impracticality of it when back home and away from the front lines

Painting I was commissioned to do for an upcoming book about my local nature reserve here in North Yorkshire, UK.

All the digital paintings i made for the book are of real places. It was so lovely to be asked to illustrate my home and fun trying to capture the seasonal light and mood of somewhere I know so well!

Here is a lesser spotted woodpecker visiting the area in winter. Pictured with barn owl, roe deer and gulls coming into roost on the floodwater.

I'd like to take a moment to point out to detractors of ships involving Laios who feel that "Laios wouldn't take any interest in people!" that he'd hyperfixated on Shuro so badly it was ruining the man's life lmao

#dungeon meshi #dunmesh spoilers #not even discounting that he'd be aroace or anything just that laios is perfectly capable of taking an interest in people #labru #this one's for labru nation #laios stating the reason that (alongside with having a genuine interest in shuro's home)#he was so excited because he thought shuro considered him a friend #could you even IMAGINE how he'd be with a person who went c o m p l e t e l y out of his way to be his friend on purpose #venturing into the dungeon putting himself in danger dying over and over again just to get close to him and his party #can you #i can #none of this even mentioning how the series ends with laios developing a genuine desire to take a bigger interest in humans #but i wont hold that against the anime onlys #side note it just kills me how laios (who is so painfully trusting of people) to immediately think kabru is lying to him here #god #top 10 characters who absolutely rot my brain
