I am re-experiencing the catharsis that comes with reading recovery fics where max either regularly visits nathan in rehab or max finds out she's doing group therapy with him or max meets nathan like five years into the future after they both sorted through their own shit and they get closure and become better people and maybe bond over photography

#mine musings #i just think. nathan should have gotten help and max should also get therapy #and they should meet to give each other closure or whatever after everything that happened #opportunities to change his future like the max has given to other characters (regardless if those timelines never persisted anyway)#anyway i just really don't like how nathan was treated in the game 'cause ummm he's sick he needs help SO bad and there's zero ways #to give him that AND have the audience experience a moment of relief when he gets it #'cause i mean if max does let chloe die it's technically possible nathan gets court-mandated rehab but like. the player may never know #anyway also also i think post-canon they both still love photography but like #nathan was also modeled/photographed without consent and helped in the dark room #max rewound a lot through photographs and got nosebleeds and trauma #so. i think for a while post-game they don't necessarily have the best relationship with their favorite art/hobby #can't believe i'm back in my caulscott bullshit but thankfully the sense of me and vibrance exist
