Everyone seems to think that Natalie Abrams was referring to SC when she tweeted about filming her favorite scene and all that but I honestly think she meant a scene between Alex and Kelly and to be honest, as much as I would love her writing sc focused scenes I'm glad they had a lesbian writing for lesbian characters. I assume Kelly will be coming out to Alex in this episode and they will talk about kids since Alex will get "a call" and it sounds like it will be meaningful and sweet.

idk about “everyone” lol but im sure a lot of wishful thinking is going into that ep. for what its worth, half of the ep is very much focused on Kara/Lena so knowing that 1) at least one of the writers is not a straightie and also 2) is someone who has been sympathetic towards the ship is something. otherwise i do agree, though i think (and hope) that Kelly’s coming out will not be some CW style Coming Out™.

Two questions for you if you don't mind. Do you think A&E and the cast have known about the cancellation for a little while or basically just found out? Also do you happen to know if it's still pilot season?

I’m happy to share my conjecture with you, but keep in mindit’s my conjecture based on what I���ve seen. I don’t know for sure and I don’tclaim to know.  

In my opinion, they just found out. I think ABC told A&Eit was over in the last couple of days. Late last week Brigitte Hales said on twitter that the show had not beencancelled. A&E are closest with the writers, that’s who they work with,face-to-face every day. In my opinion the writers would have been the first to know.So, I don’t think it had happened yet when Brigitte tweeted that.  As for the crew, Leaf Lady said she found outyesterday (Tuesday,) and I would assume that’s when they told the larger cast and crew. I’m guessing Natalie Abrams and the varietyreporter and anyone else who conducted interviews with them, found out on Monday.  Series regular actors and above the line personnelmay have been told on Monday as well.  

Here’s what I think happened.  Adam (and Eddy?) went to Vancouver early lastweek to pitch S8 to the actors and to try and convince Colin to sign on for apotential S8.  They were unable to doso.  I think once Colin made his decisionto leave when his contract was up, we started to see those breadcrumbs from himthat he was done. Changing his IMDB photo and his twitter profile etc.   No matterwhat, he was out.  

I think Dunghey’s comments at TCAs about being optimistic werepartially aimed at the actors. To let them know it wasn’t a lost cause whilethey were in contract negotiations.  Andwhile I think it was highly unlikely the show would be renewed under anyscenario, I honestly think it was a non-starter without Colin.  

So once Colin made his decision, I think ABC decided to goahead and announce.  No need to keep theshow, actors, crew, fans in limbo if they knew there was no chance.  

To me, unless it was about contracts, the timing isodd.  If they had decided that it wasgone no matter what they would have announced at TCAs. Since, they didn’t itsignaled they were keeping their options open. However, ABC hasn’t seen pilotsyet, which is usually when they make the decision on “bubble” shows.  If the pilots are good, they are less apt tokeep bubble shows, if they aren’t good, they are more apt to keep bubble shows.  Obviously the timing fell into neitherof those categories. Since they didn’t cancel at TCAs and they didn’t waituntil May, and factoring in that with the reboot there really isn’t the same pressureto promote and celebrate it as the final season (like they could havedone last year) so to me the only reason to announce now is because a contractissue was the catalyst for decision.  

However, again, this is my conjecture.  And if I’m correct, I would like to stressthat I think the show had almost no chance of being renewed either way. It’snot Colin’s “fault” however, without him my guess is it wasn’t even under consideration, hence the announcement now.

As for pilot season, it’s happening now all the way through theend of March.

Natalie Abrams said on Superhero Insider last week that there was going to be a Red Carpet event for the AOS 100th on the 24th.   If you have questions for her to ask the cast tweet her.  I haven’t seen any further information (like who all will be attending) on it yet but will keep my eyes open and post it on my blog as soon as I hear anything.

Ugh. He posted a cute little happy birthday message to Emma Booth (the talented actress who plays Gothel on the show) with a selfie (well, a picture of Emma and like, a third of his head, lol XD, his eyeball looked fantastic! XD). It was a cute post and 110% not deserving of any fandom drama.

...but it got a bunch, and not even from ONE place, but from TWO places.

First, there were the Colifer fans who threw a hissy fit because he never posted a selfie with Jen on HER birthday, and because his last birthday message to Jen didn’t even have exclamation points and HOW DARE HE do something more for someone than what he did for Jen. Honestly, I think he would’ve just ignored this if that was all there was, because it’s fucking stupid and he probably expected it and did I mention it’s fucking stupid?

BUT then the anti-fans of the show chimed in with their absolutely crazy rants about Emma Booth and the problematic Gothel rape storyline and... things just got even stupider. Like, people were actually MAD that he dared to take a photo and wish a happy birthday to an actress he works with just because they don’t care for a scene he appeared in with her. I’m sorry, but that is NOT a sane or reasonable way to deal with your dislike of a scene in a television show. In fact, that’s not a sane or reasonable way to EXIST ON THIS PLANET PLEASE GTFO OF IT ASAP THANK YOU. *cough*

Anyway, that post was made on the 28th... and now it’s 9 days later and Colin has only retweeted one thing - the post Natalie Abrams made about an interview Colin did. So, basically, something he was obligated to post. He’s also liked one tweet by Rose about Emma winning an award. That’s it. No other activity whatsoever. And yeah, he has quiet times here and there, but... given the timing of this one, it definitely seems like the nutters pissed him off and he’s giving Twitter a wide berth at the moment. Should be interesting to see what happens tomorrow, as there’s usually pre-show posts the cast are expected to do. Will he just retweet and go back to silence? Will he actually say something? I doubt he’ll address the drama, but it would be a good time to test the waters and see what happens... well, if he even cares anymore :/ Poor guy.

Oh I’ve called Natalie Abrams unprofessional many times, as have many other people. However, if you’re waiting for Lana’s fans to realize they are huge hypocrites when it comes to Natalie, you’ll grow gray and old. I’ll never forget when during SDCC ‘16, EW (Natalie’s outlet) did a photo shoot where JMo sat on Colin’s lap. Lana’s idiot fans raged over this horrible injustice and evidence of the crumbling of western civilization and showed their anger by viciously attacking… Leanne.

You heard me, they attacked Leanne over something Natalie did. They are that fucking stupid.

So, no, they are never going to recognize Natalie’s extreme bias.

Leanne likes CS and her biggest sin is reporting enthusiastically on them. (Which is how she reports on most canon ships on TV shows she covers.)

Natalie has actually skewed the entire narrative of the show’s publicity before with her pro-Regina erroneous reporting. The entire pre season 5 narrative of “Regina is the new Savior” was 100% her and Lana’s fault. Besides before she realized he had a lot of fans who were good for a lot of clicks, she said lots of gross things about Hook. I can’t stand her.
