Currently I’m thinking about Charming, but in the context of Natasha and Hélène being trans femme wlw.

Hélène has been living as a sapphic woman for years, and it’s just a given that she’s a woman. But Natasha isn’t used to high society, the opera was her first time presenting as female, and she still needs help getting used to it.

Marya D. and Sonya are both butch so they can’t help her much, they don’t know what to do.

So Hélène shows up to Natasha’s house, helps her dress in feminine clothes, gives her advice, affirms her gender presentation, and flirts with her. Natasha is lovely and charming but she still needs that extra push from another trans wlw to get out there and have fun and wear her dresses out in Moscow society. She’s not a child anymore, she’s a woman draped in a scarlet and lace dress, and she’s frightening and powerful.

Hélène reminds her that Anatole was attracted to her, despite what Natasha’s dysphoria and insecurity may tell her. And of course Hélène is attracted to her as well.

Charming is already a power sapphic anthem, and even more so if it’s trans woman to trans woman.

when I started shipping it if I did: when i watched the obc previews comet boot for the first time and i sobbed for like 30 minutes afterward!

my thoughts: they’re so pure and so sweet and they deserve the best!

What makes me happy about them: I literally thing that they are the fluffiest couple in general.

What makes me sad about them: the epilogue in War and Peace :/ Dave fixed it with his Epilogue After Epilogue song, but FUCK what Tolstoy wrote.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: anything where their mental illnesses are “fixed” by love

things I look for in fanfic: contrary to the what annoys me, i like hurt/comfort, where they help each other with their struggles. also, established marriage and child fics. it helps to fix the epilogue lol

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: well, i ship them both with andrey! i don’t ship Pierre with anyone else, but i’m a huge Natasha multishipper -- i also like Marynat and Natalène.

My happily ever after for them: Basically everything that happens in Comet, Dave’s epilogue song included. Getting married and being there for each other.
