Nashuri Family Weekend Inspiration & Prompts

With the event a month away, here's some ideas, suggestions and prompts to inspire you on your creative journey!

Day 1: Firsts

From hearing a baby’s heartbeat for the first time to watching a child take their first steps (or in some cases, first flight?!), a growing family means a lot of new experiences for parents and their children. On day one, let’s explore all sorts of firsts for Shuri and Namor’s family!

Ideas to inspire you:

First words. First baby. First day at school. First sibling. First crush. First time traveling outside of Wakanda or Talokan. First time Namor and Shuri team up with their children and fight side by side. First rebellious phase. First child’s boyfriend/girlfriend. First adoption.

Day 2: Parenthood

Being a living god king and a genius level superhero princess is easy. Being a parent? Not so much. In some respects, running a whole kingdom just might be easier than raising a family. On day two, let’s explore all the ups and downs of Shuri and Namor dealing with parenthood!

Ideas to inspire you:

Teaching a skill to their child. Struggling to adjust to being a parent. Spending Mother’s Day together. Spending Father’s Day together. Making time for their spouse. Baby shower. Single parenting. Nashuri's conflicting parenting styles. Nashuri taking their children to work. Nashuri family vacation.

Day 3: Legacy

“Children are the legacy we leave for the time we will not live to see.” What does it mean to be a child of Talokan and Wakanda? A living legacy symbolizing the unity between great people and their nations. Is it a burden or is it a gift? On day three, let’s explore how Shuri and Namor's legacy impacts their family and the world.

Ideas to inspire you:

Children trying to live up to Nashuri's achievements. Nashuri passing down their cultural history to their children. Nashuri child succeeds to the throne. Grandparents Nashuri. Estranged Nashuri children. Nashuri and children conflict due to generational differences. Nashuri trying to make the world better for their children. Nashuri keepsakes. Taking on a parent's mantle

All of the ideas are just suggestions! Feel free to be as imaginative as you would like to be with each day's themes!

Tbh I just wanted to show the integration of Wakanda and Talokan, and how Shuri and Namor pioneered an era of peace between the two nations + kids that will continue the legacy.

Hi Nashuri Fandom!

On September the 22nd to the 24th, we'll be hosting Nashuri Family Weekend! A fun weekend dedicated to Nashuri exploring the theme of family. Come and join us by creating Nashuri fanworks that go along with our daily themes and tagging them with #NashuriFamily!

Themes

Day 1: Firsts Day 2: Parenthood Day 3: Legacy

Rules:

1. Any type of fanwork and genre is allowed as long as it is your own work! Bring on your fanfiction, art, video edits, music lists, moodboards, drinks, and anything else you can think of that fits within the themes of Nashuri Family Weekend.

2. The main focus of the fanwork should be on Shuri and Namor (Nashuri) and relate to the themes of parenthood, family and kinship.

3. All fanworks are allowed, including ones with dark or mature themes. You must make sure all of your works are tagged and rated appropriately!

4. Ship and let Ship! If you do not like it, do not interact!

5. To have your fanwork be shared, please make sure you tag your fanwork with #NashuriFamily and @NashuriFamilyWeekend on Tumblr or @NashuriFamily on Twitter so we can find it!

6. During the weekend, share the Nashuri love by liking, commenting and sharing your favorite fanworks! 7. Most importantly, have fun!

How strict is the theming?

You are free to interpret each day’s family theme however you wish! We can’t wait to see how creative you can be! The only hard requirement we have is that the main focus of the fanwork should be on Shuri and Namor (Nashuri)

How do I make sure my work gets featured?

Information About The Orange Kitten

General Information: Third born. Playful Orange. The Jokester. The Imagineer.

Personality: Always wants to play. Has the best jokes. Most imaginative out of all the Nashurittens. The fastest flier in the family (which is why they easily get away with mischief!)

Favorite hobbies: Playing pranks on their babysitters.

Favorite babysitters: M’Baku & Attuma.

Favorite activity to do with Mama & Baba: Painting.

Biggest fears: Scared of the dark. Getting lost.

Bold Blue. The Regal. The Diplomat.

Personality: Leader. Always looking out for his siblings. Very responsible and thoughtful. Most charismatic. Gives the best hugs and cuddles. Faces every challenge head on. Favorite hobbies: Poetry. Patrolling the kingdom. Favorite babysitter: Namora. Favorite activity to do with Mama & Baba: Attend royal court. Biggest fears: Disappointing Mama & Baba. Heights.

Second

Fearless Red. The Adventurer. The Warrior.

Personality: Learned to fly before she could walk. Wants to explore the whole world. Bravest of all Nashurittens. Has a strong sense of justice.  Favorite hobbies: Exploring the outdoors. Training with the Dora Milaje. Favorite babysitter: Okoye. Favorite activity to do with Mama & Baba: Sparring. Biggest fears: Losing. Getting trapped.

Third

Favorite hobbies: Singing with Talokanil sirens. Favorite babysitter: Nakia. Favorite activity to do with Mama & Baba: Take part in traditional ceremonies. Biggest fears: Loss of family. Making mistakes.

Fifth

Clever Green. The Scientist. The Boundless.

Personality: Her mind is always running with new inventions and ideas. The most clever of all the Nashurittens. Rule breaker (in the name of science!) Gets roped into pranks with Third. Favorite hobbies: Inventing. Running experiments. Favorite babysitter: Riri. Favorite activity to do with Mama & Baba: Helping out in the lab. Biggest fears: Failing. Getting stuck.

Sixth

Shy Yellow. The Baby. The Curious.

Personality: Bashful. Sheltered by the family. Still very young so he is easily excited by everything. Still a little clumsy and tends to trip over his own feathers. Annoucement: Name the Nashurittens Mini-Event!

Ever since we posted our announcement post for the Nashuri Family Weekend event, we received tons of questions about the adorable six Nashuri kittens. What's their personalities? Their likes/dislikes? What's their names?!

So we decided to make it a community mini-event!

From September 1st to September 12th,

Help us name the Nashurittens!

How to submit name suggestions and other event details below under the keep reading!

September 1 to 4 - Submit Name Suggestions

On Sept 1, a Google form will be posted at 8 pm CST on our Twitter & Tumblr to submit names. We will also post some stuff about their personalities to help you come up with names!

Rules for Name Suggestions

Please do not spam the form.

No blatantly offensive or cruel names.

Joke names are ok! Make the mods laugh!

This is all for fun! Have fun with it :)

Rules will also be posted at the top of the form.

Depending on how many names are submitted, mods will narrow to 3-4 names per kitten for the community to vote on.

Names picked for voting will be at mod’s discretion from the suggestions to make sure that there are no duplicates  (Sorry guys, we can’t name every kitten Shuri & Namor Jr 😂) and no rule breaking names.

Name submission form will be closed on Sept 4th 8 pm CST.

September 6 to 12 - Vote on Nashuritten Names

Starting on Sept 6, a 24 hour poll will be posted each day on our Twitter and Tumblr to vote on the name for one of the Nashurittens. It’ll be 3-4 names based on the mods selection from the suggestions offered.

The name with the highest votes by the time the poll ends wins. We will tally both Tumblr and Twitter votes together.

If there is a tie, the name will be determined by a coin flip between the top two names.

After all the Nashuritten names have been voted on, we'll post a list of all the names the community has chosen!
