B5 S04E05 The Long Night previous episode - table of contents
Susan's feeling so much more relaxed since Sheridan got back that she took the time to curl her hair into perfect ringlets today.
The Shadows struck back against the Vorlon assault by wiping out a planet of inhabitants who supported the Vorlons. And they did it in an unknown and unknowable way that their scanners can't even detect.
Londo is really networking his treason now. And Vir's helping too! Thankfully everyone else seems to be taking Vir more seriously than Londo does.
This seems so endgame! In episode 5! How high are these stakes going to go, anyway.
Bryan Cranston is in this. Walter White is in this?? I haven't even seen Breaking Bad, but it was so culturally pervasive, yanno. Partner informs me that google has informed him that this was before Malcom in the Middle, too. Years before. ALso haven't seen that but tumblr loves Hal so I know about him.
Sheridan sending out Susan to go look for a First One again. With Lorien! Does anyone else know about that First One that G'Kar rescued Sinclair's girlfriend Caroline (?) from when she was surveying in the area?
An extra layer of Susan's traumatic backstory just unlocked. Recalling the time around her mother's suicide, and how her mother sent her next door saying she'd come for Susan later and then died. Susan tells Sheridan she wants him to swear she'll be with the fleet "at the end," and they have their most touching friendship moment to date! But I see that Sheridan didn't actually promise her anything, only said how proud he was of her and how grateful to have her as a friend.
Cartagia remains astonishingly sane and well grounded for someone with as much power as he posesses. As expected. /s
G'Kar's depth perception is gone for good, it seems. The eye was plucked in twisted biblical reference by an alien to another alien who don't know earth culture, lol.
Londo fills G'Kar in on the plan. On Narn, G'Kar will "distract" Cartagia's guard "for a few minutes" while Cartagia is taken care of. But G'Kar isn't supposed to hurt Cartagia because Londo says if a Narn harms the Emperor, Narn will suffer. So the Centauri have to do it and are going to do it.
Sensible, actually. If that's how it ends up playing out! Londo's plans tend to come true in really awful ways, so we'll see if it goes as smoothly as he describes it to G'Kar.
Vir has procured the murder device: a single-use epi-pen-style neurotoxin. Londo has to stab him right between the hearts for it to work, which it should almost-instantaneously, and then it will disguise the wound by releasing a sealant.
How the hell if G'Kar meant to cause a distraction when he's in yoke and chain? Like, dude. Also the death sentence is by vivisection jfc.
G'Kar's plan is pretty metal. As in, he breaks his chains and actually fucking thrashes Cartagia's personal guard. And the plan is going perfectly so far! Till Catagia attacks Londo in his utter saneness.
So Vir takes care of the stabbing.
"Almost instantaneously" apparently means "After he clutches his heart, staggers, and says: "No! I was to a god, you understand?""
"We think it's his hearts," Londo says gormlessly, really counting on the fact that Cartagia has openly talked about Centauri Prime being destroyed and the court is freaked the fuck out about him.
The royal physician couldn't find anything, and it's just as if his hearts gave out. Londo persuades people to support his plan of leaving Narn and the Narnuans alone. Two Emperors in a row have died in dealings with Narn, so they're calling it a sign from the gods and shaking the Narnuan dust off their feet.
And now Londo is Prime Minister and responsible for planetary security! Yay! From there the jump to Emperor is hardly more than a lateral move! :P
The White Star fleet's ships don't have names, they're just numbered. And White Star 14's captain is Bryan Cranston! He's taking his role very seriously. The Shadows' planet killer is sort of trackable with Captain Ericcson of White Star #14. Something burrowed to the planet's core, then detonated a crazy powerful bomb, and the planet is being destroyed horribly. Not everyone there is dead, but they will be within twelve hours. And their immediate planning is to predict where the Shadows will go next, not coordinating rescue for the potentially living people on the attacked planet!
whoops. RIP in advance, y'all.
Vir is drunk. Drinking both sides of an ongoing toast with Cartagia. He's not feeling well about himself and his actions. Because he's got more morals than anyone else we've seen at court.
Poor Vir. He just wanted a job that was OK to work, a wife he was in love with. And would have counted himself lucky if she loved him, too. And he's having trouble reconciling that with the life he has been living with intrigue and genocide and now murder with his own hands.
Londo apologizes for treating Vir poorly at first, as though he hasn't been doing it right up till this very episode, the audacity! But his adivce to Vir is better than any of his advice up to this point has been.
The Narnuan have started celebrating the Centauri's planned departure, with fireworks. Time to go before they get chased off posthaste.
Ah it's the Vorlons going after the next planet, with 6 million inhabitants. The League is being told to stall the Vorlons with hit-and-run attacks while the White Star Fleet gets into position. Sheridan is going get the Shadows to be there, trick them somehow.
Trick them by fighting to the death! With the "secret" of a base that the Shadows are meant to come attack. Which will trick them into being at the place the Vorlons will be attacking.
Bryan Cranston swears it by Valen's name and a Minbari saulte. Delenn looks rather awed, and returns it.
In Jeff Sinclair's name.
By Jeff, they salute each other.
Phew, G'Kar's mostly alright. And the Narn want to counter-attack the Centauri with G'Kar leading the military offensive. G'Kar is offended at the idea of being established as a single leader, when they were previously lead by a large, diverse council of Narnuan. He refuses to be party to striking back.
This offends the Narn dude speaking to him. "What have you endured?" he asks.
Wrong question buddy.
G'Kar gives this the due consideration it deserves and walks away, cackling wildly.
John Sheridan and Delenn listen to the final transmissions of the doomed White Star 14 and Captain Cranston Ericcson going out.
Well that's s eventful! Cartagia dead, G'Kar and Narn freed. A planet destroyed, a base's capture faked by really killing a whole ship ("Are you married?" is a terrible way to inform someone they're being given a suicide mission, btw.),  Bryan Cranstron's career launched, and a Susan-Lorien field trip teased.
out of the frying pan and...

very informal thoughts on the more mundane villains I write (Avranc, Brodda and Lorgan)
mentions of bad stuff from canon ahead
anon who wanted to see this, I hope you do! I’m also going to go back to it tomorrow and finish any edits and additions as I can’t from mobile right now...
third and last time I’m reposting this. apparently Tumblr is once again doing the thing where it doesn’t let you edit things under a cut on mobile
Avranc
mundane evil at its finest. Bureaucratic, petty, and callous. Depraved indifference is the term I used in my recent meta about The Wanderings of Húrin and it’s the most accurate thing I can say about him. He’s well aware that he’s living in a nigh apocalyptic world and he’ll mistreat or even kill anyone he thinks has earned it.
His cruelty towards completely traumatized Húrin and callousness about Morwen’s death was surprisingly disturbing to me when I first read The Wanderings and it’s stuck with me ever since
Brodda:
I really hate this man! I’m not normal about it, either. If you’ve ever mentioned disliking him even in tags or comments you might have dealt with my overexcited responses. Sorry in advance/in retrospect. It will probably happen again.
Technically in my published stories he’s only in a few but he features heavily in unpublished stories of mine too. The scene where Morwen scares him away by looking is simultaneously one of the scariest and most amusing scenes in the entire book for me.
In one of those published stories Aerin says that his best quality is his long periods of absence and the kindest thing he does is ignoring her. That’s the highest character endorsement you’ll get from a reliable source.  The previous batch of Aerin headcanons and the next one has some less than fun facts about him.
What to say about him? He’s a mid level commander and violent sadist who accuses women of witchcraft. He often ignores Aerin because he gets bored of being cruel to the same people, hence her glowing character endorsement (my sarcasm as well as hers). He’s way too obsessed with his own dagger (hence the title of the story) He’s mostly fun to write when he’s getting stabbed by Morwen with it and the art I have of it is the best thing ever. Earlier last year I thought my dark!Finarfin was the worst character I’d write but I think even he isn’t as bad, if only because dark Arafinwë has more self awareness.   The BoLT version is interesting too because it puts his actions in an even more disturbing light when he’s acting against his own people. I tend to use a combination that has him originally from Hithlum but having left a couple decades before the start of the Narn. I have...thoughts about this including one of the most disturbing things I think I have ever come up with regarding Dagor Bragollach.
Anyways he’s an awful person and needs to stay away from Aerin and Morwen and just about everyone else on the planet. Currently I’m playing with an idea for a wip where Morwen does convince Aerin to flee to Hareth in Brethil and then finds herself accused of causing her vanishment by sinister means.
But I had to work out his character so much for Cut Your Hand As Willingly (semi published, it has its own tag which I’ll put on this post) that I’m not sure I could face writing him again.
Lorgan: Any visuals I have of him are based on the description of the governor from The Magnus Archives episode Foundations. He’s notable to me mainly for being the guy who Húrin yells at in The Wanderings. Well, one of them. I guess that story does have more than one instance of Húrin yelling at people.   He also apparently considered abducting Niënor. I don’t know exactly what version this was in, I actually thought I invented that in my brain but then two people completely unrelated posted about it so it’s somewhere in HoME. I have a post about it here. It’s kind of pathetic that he failed in this despite the family being actually cursed. Always a possibility for further exploration in dark aus He doesn’t appear in many of my stories except as a background character.
I don’t like him much either but it’s also interesting to imagine versions where he was originally of Húrin’s people too.

silm for the ships ask?
otp: I never shut up about Túrin and Beleg because they are THE pairing. like they hit every trope for me. the homoerotic warrior’s bond? the cheerful/gloomy dynamic? light hair/dark hair? the “love against wisdom” motif? the sheer devotion and loyalty between them? and an immortal falling in love with a mortal?? only for the immortal to die first??? and Beleg dying in Túrin’s arms?????? and Túrin kissing his corpse???? and Túrin later dying by the same sword and the same hand????? jolkien what have you done to me???????
favorite canon pairing: Fëanor/Nerdanel! yeah things didn’t turn out too great but they were so happy together before the silmarils came into the picture. they’re both artists, I’m just imaging them showering each other in gifts they made for each other
worst pairing ever: I don’t think Aredhel/Eol has a ship name, and let’s keep it that way
guilty pleasure pairing: Túrin/Maeglin! fellas is it gay to have matching swords? 🤔 like yeah they’re both cursed walking disaster emo babies and Nothing would turn out right if they ever met. but what if they had another cursed walking disaster emo baby to relate to. idk maybe their curses will cancel each other out like pemdas or something
a pairing you want to see more: Nienor/Mablung is so underrated. imo the Narn has the perfect set up for a tragic romance between them. my man Mabs spent three years nonstop searching for Nienor, that’s love and dedication right there! and then she died just one day before he found her! fuckk just stab me. I’d like to imagine they were happy together during the time Nienor was living in Doriath, let the poor girl have a few good years before everything goes downhill
that pairing everyone likes but you’re like “lol no”: tbh every pairing between siblings or cousins get a nope from me. but I especially don’t get the hype around Curufin/Finrod. their only on-page interaction is when Curufin and Celegorm take over Nargothrond, and it’s Celegorm rather than Curufin who did more of the work in that scene.
favorite non-romantic pair: Maedhros and Fingon! the Thangorodrim scene is just so good. Fingon risked his life to save Maedhros even after he believed that Maedhros betrayed him and his house! and oh, the tragedy of how Fingon dies. what if he died believing that Maedhros had really betrayed him this time?

this is kinda dark but your stabby turleg art, the one where turin and beleg are both getting stabbed by gurthang, it’s really similar to this one part of the narn! gwindor immediately hides anglachel after túrin kills beleg, which was a very good decision, because túrin begs Death to take him, and then begs gwindor for anglachel so he can join beleg in death, and that scene’s actually got a lot of parallels to túrin’s death, esp w the “wilt thou slay me swiftly?” thing. ur art is v cool!!! :)))
thank you!!! I like the concept of that drawing still but it feels old now maybe i should redraw it when APs and stuff are over and I have more time I’m so here for overanalyzing coh stuff and I’m very flattered that my art made you think of that :D

Flames That Burn the Soul
This all started when Markus had remembered the fire he gave to the tax goats, it was a offhand thought that probably shouldn't have become so important to him. It did. He just had to remember how he made it the first time they ever came to the Nine Shrines, how they told stories of their past and how absolutely wonderful it was to bond.
He was upset that it was gone. He made two more. The first one almost stole Thog's soul so he had to put it out but the second one was bright and sucked up all the warmth around it like a black hole. Just like old times. He put glitter in this one and it stung his eyes even more than the last one, at least it was pretty.
And Ashe made a better one that actually functioned as a fire, with a hearth and everything (he begged her to help him make one too, it looked awful), and they sat around that instead when he proposed they all had a camp-out in their yard. The bar closed early and they all sat around the real fire as the demonic purple flames of an eldritch abomination slowly plotted their demise in the background. Fun.
Inien brought marshmallows and Kyr brought gun powder, Kyr didn't get to touch the fire after that. They all sat around it and roasted marshmallows and talked until Firi decided it'd be fun to tell stories.
She obviously went first.
"This is a story about how Narn and I accidentally destroyed the entire structure of a long abandoned temple of a god."
"You did what?" Gregor was the first to speak and he was nearly proud in a sense, temples were basically big stone churches.
"Yes, it was not on purpose but it still happened."
"Well lay it on us." Inien spoke around a marshmallow.
"Narn was trying to help me get to the top of the building because there was a very nice view of a pasture of owlbears, but the roof wasn't very stable and the second they were on it the whole thing collapsed like a house of cards. I tried to fix it but I must have been too nervous and I accidentally made the statue of the god explode."
Ashe gasped and Thog laughed his ass off.
"Out of frustration Narn ended up smashing through a wall and the whole thing came crumbling down."
Thog paused to pat Firi on the shoulder and wiped a tear from his eye. "That was a good one Firi." She smiled at the compliment and thanked him.
Kyr perked up and waved his hand wildly in the air to be chosen next. Firi nodded with a pleased smile and Kyr bounced like a child.
"This is a story about how I broke my wrist playing with Charoth."
Markus gasped with a hurt look. "You told me that it was because of the underground raccoons!"
"That was my other wrist!"
"The left one?"
"Yeah bud, I would never lie to you."
"Oh thank goodness. Carry on."
Kyr nodded and started up again making a stone cold face to imitate Charoth. "The little guy gave me that look so I told him we could play catch. We went outside and Charoth obviously doesn't know how to play catch because when I was about to throw him the ball." Kyr made a little explosion with his hands and both his wrist creaked like rusted iron.
"He did some magic bullshit and hit my wrist! It hurt like crazy!" He grabbed at his wrist and sighed at how it slumped like a piece of wet paper.
Everyone paused a little worried but Gregor spoke up to break the silence. "I have a story."
The gazes switched from Kyr's worryingly limp wrist and onto him.
"This is the story about how I finally defeated a tornado!" Gregor smiled wide and whipped out his glaive with ease.
Inien sputtered and almost spit out her marshmallow and Colvin 'ah'ed with vigor.
"You did what? I know you're really strong Gregor but you can't fight a tornado." She stabbed another marshmallow on to her stick and put it over the fire.
"He did actually, coolest shit I've ever seen." Thog spoke up and leaned over to the side to ruffle Gregor's hair like a very old and tired father. Who probably wears socks and sandals.
"See!" He gave his glaive a pat and smirked.
"Alright fine, so you killed a tornado, but how?"
"I stabbed it in its heart with my glaive." Gregor swished his weapon and made a stabbing motion with it.
Inien paused, opened her mouth, closed it and shrugged. Seems reasonable.
"Aaaaaah, is it now my turn to do the story telling?" Colvin shook one of his fist for no particular reason other than the fact he could.
"Sure, go right ahead." Ashe spoke up blowing on a marshmallow and took a careful bite out of it.
"Yes! This is the story of how I killed a death god."
Markus gasped and Ashe quickly stood up. "You did what!?"
Colvin looked up from his spot and tilted his head in confusion. Was there something wrong with his amazing story?
"When we went separate ways at that scary place."
Aesling the retired neck stabber sighed in relief and sat back down. "Go on."
Colvin nodded and smiled wide as he spoke.
"There I was, on the separate path as you guys, and I saw this guy with robes and spiky blond hair on top of this really tall building. He said he was a god and using my context clues I knew he was a god of death. So I jumped up punched him straight in the face-" Nearly everyone was in hysterical laughter and Colvin gave them a minute to calm down. "-and he disappeared into a bunch of butterflies."
Ashe held her stomach and wheezed. "Holy fuck Colvin!"
Thog was clapping and Kyr was practically praising the man. This was a beautiful moment for them all, so very fucking beautiful.
So beautiful in fact that they decided they had told enough stories and went inside for the night.
The eldritch fire was sad but they could wait for another chance.

Buffy S1 E9 and 10
Last disk of the first season, let’s see how this goes
9, The Puppet Show
Tumblr media
I love how thoroughly amused they are that Giles is subjected to the talent show
PRINCIPAL SNIDER IS QUARK OMG Is this the marriage of B5 and DS9 the masses clamored for? I have a feeling Armin is grateful for any role that doesn’t involve putting all those false teeth in his mouth.
Tumblr media
This dummy is ALSO a riot. I predict he will steal the show// huk yuk.
Is it gonna be a trend with this show that Willow gets hit on by all the monsters? I say it’s a trend but this is really only one more supernatural bad touch than the other two have already had. I think b/c they’re so close together.
Punishing kids to perform in the talent show sounds to me like a good way to ruin the talent show. I mean the talent shown so far on stage isn’t Julliard but I’m sure Tuba Girl is really looking forward to her performance and putting a lot of jackasses who don’t want to be there in around her isn’t going to help.
You principal skinner has a really good point. He was giving a school that has a really high body count and Buffy IS directly involved and knows more than she’s saying.
Buffy, tell your mom the principal is on your ass. Create a network of witnesses so when he ends up being a vampire or something you’re not accusing him with no provocation.
Ok the Dummy staring at her is rightfully creepy. Glad the teacher took it away from him. It’s good seeing a teacher actually be a teacher and not let the troublemaker get away acting out in class, and when he comes back to get his dummy ask him if everything’s okay at home. A+ teacher.
“I’ll just be here, completely inanimate! Redrum!! Redrum!!!” Xander’s still a jerk but he did get a laugh out of me
AHHH The dummy is stabbing at her! That’s hilarious!
I love him explaining the demon situation to everyone. That Dummy is really great... like he can emote really well and he’s believable as a living character. I want him to be a permanent member of the cast.
Giles can NOT handle himself. He’s going to get beheaded. Baby Giles, you poor dear. Being a damsel is gonna stop being cute at some point and I’m going to have to rethink you as my favorite character. I can’t stand the smart guy who makes dumb choices all the time. This time was ok bc you were already out of your element and floundering to do a job you don’t understand.
Oh no! The demon’s a Narn! Like not even fooling. He just IS. LOOK vvvv
Tumblr media
10 Nightmares
Tumblr media
We get to meet Buffy’s dad this episode.
How does Cordelia even have friends?
Wendell is scared of spiders, but the animal trainer’s contract means hes not allowed to touch them at all lol (they were just placed on him)
I want to have a theological discussion with the Master about how in a world where God and demons exist, your “fear” of the cross has nothing to do with power over your own emotions. There are actual supernatural forces at work -- real holiness and real evil. I know TV doesn’t want to bring Jesus in their fun vampire show but that’s actually kinda what’s going on here. The cross is a symbol of the single most powerful event in Christian history. The death of God, himself, to fulfill prophecies spanning thousands of years. In this universe the power is more that just “yer scared of it.”
I’m glad Buffy had the Highschool Test nightmare. I wonder which student is going to show up naked to school, and which one is going to have all their teeth fall out. Answer: the nudey was Xander.
OMG Giles’s worst fear is that he can’t read! Oh baby ;_;
The meeting of the dads.
Oh lord this is brutal. Buffy’s deepest fear is not a dream she had, it’s a heartbreaking lie she’s been telling herself all this time. This is so horrible, and so raw...
“Dreams? No that would be a musical comedy version of this”
They really shouldn’t have cast the nightmare kid to look so similar to the Damien kid if they weren’t intended to be the same kid.
“I don’t want to go! I’m not even on the track team, I swear I’m not!”
Xander is an idiot. Like talking to a box of rocks.
Willow’s scared of performing in front of a crowd except she did that last episode. Poorly. But not wet your pants terrified. I’m glad an opera singer got a paycheck out of this horsehockey
OMG Pennywise showed up after all! lol!
Tumblr media
This one they telegraphed better, b/c Xander was spooked by a mime in the last ep. To be fair, Willow was like “I don’t want to play piano” but she then went out on stage and read lines. It’s a bit of a conflict. Maybe they should have made her the tree or something.
They’re doing a good job of showing actual sincere nightmares of these people and therefore teaching us about each of them in turn. I like this episode a lot :)
W: “When Buffy was a vampire were you still into her?”
X: “Her face was ugly of course not!”
W: “Yes you were.”
X: “I could still stare at her rack so yes I was.”

Babylon 5 s02e09 The Coming of Shadows s02 Table of Contents • previous episode
I am very interested in finding out what G'Kar decides to do about the Centauri Emperor visiting.
As per usual, I am blehh about their sexually dimorphic haircuts, and could only sigh when it was revealed it's mandatory haircuts they all definitely make out of their own volition.
Will Londo backstab the Emperor that just gave him the gift of divorcing 2/3rds of his wives? I can't decide.
Haven't seen Kosh in awhile...maybe Kosh will pop up now that the Emperor has expressed an interest in the Vorlon.
If G'Kar actually stabs the Centauri Emperor I will be very surprised...
Poor Emperor, living the most privileged and powerful life on Centauri Prime. :( I do see how that life could give one existential depression, though.
Proselytizing in your will is a choice!
Strange, logical, and unsettling use of telepaths by Centauri. It makes them feel more alien.
G'Kar's armor definitely got prettier in this episode. Murderous calm suits him.
Tumblr media
He likes to look extra good and as blinged out as possible before assassinating heads of state.
Sometimes I think Delenn might be a telepath. Like when she eyeballs G'Kar's murderous intentions from fifty yards.
Oh, no RIP to the Emperor yet. Secret message from the Emperor! Doctor Franklin has a quest given by royal mandate.
So Londo has gotten over his earlier hesitations pretty quickly. Using Morden to wipe out even more Narns, knowingly this time, in order to instigate war, is several steps too far.
Poor G'Kar. It woulda felt so good to stab the Centauri Emperor and I do want that kind of joy for him.
Since we didn't hear the Emperor's message from him, it'd be pretty funny if it was more like "He wanted to stand in neutral territory by a Narn and say "haha, suck it"," and Dr Franklin was like "he is dying anyway, I may as well help facilitate peace between two interstellar superpowers," and made up this heartfelt speech.
I think he did send the apology, but it would be pretty funny.
Londo is racking up the war crimes like crazy. He's weakening one of the best and most fervent allies they have in the upcoming conflict against the Shadow. Which they have no evidence of also thanks to Londo actively collaborating with Morden that Shady Asshole.
G'Kar: "I've heard something and it makes me think there is still hope for us after all. I'd believed your people capable of only murder and pain...but apparently there's still a spark of decency in your genetic code. It's not much of a foundation, I'll grant you that, but - it's a start! I never thought I would be saying this, Mollari, but ... to the health of your emperor. And perhaps, to your health as well.
Yeah, make him feel guilty as fuck with your genuine hand of alliance, G'Kar!
Man, the colony really is wiped out. A lot of political turnover and turmoil going on across the main powers!
Sinclair!!! He looks good. The Minbari Ambassador position must be nicely restful.
My friend. I miss him.
He has rangers!! I love this arc for him. Secret association against the Shadows.
250,000 people wiped out or taken prisoner with no hope of seeing them alive again. I'd be fucken ticked at Londo, too.
Sinclair: "Stay close to the Vorlon and watch out for shadows. They move, when you're not looking at them."
G'Kar :( I support the Narnuan right to live their lives without being wiped out by the Shadows or the Centauri.
Emperor: "How will this end?" Vorlon: "In fire."
ominous.
"Sheridan's rule number 29: always make your opponent think you know more than you really know."
Sheridan is a dork. Even if that's sound advice. Probably, anyway. Idk, I don't have enemies...
The info sharing is great.
Tell them off, dying old Emperor.
Or don't, and just die.
Londo: "[The Emperor] said, "Continue. Take my people back to the stars.""
I don't believe that for one second. And to lie so brazenly in front of telepaths. Londo.
"Mollari, what did he say, really?" "He said...that we are both damned."
That sounds more like it.
"Well, it's a small enough price to pay for immortality."
This other Centauri politician is less conflicted about it, but Londo just did a shitload of war crimes. Feeling a little weird about it is only proof of possessing a sad, dying, twinging conscience.
The Centauri are really hardcore slavers, huh. Just insistently keeping all the Narn civilians for forced labor.
Legal observers from Earthforce is a lot more than I was expecting from Earthforce.
But it did make the Centauri back down on keeping the civilians, at least, and I'm glad.
G'Kar is phenomenally moving in his unfathomable grief/rage state of mind.
It is completely unsurprising that Londo's death vision of him strangling G'Kar is actually the other way around with G'Kar stranging him. It does make it more infuriating that he's so into Centauri imperialism. What is it, "get them before G'Kar gets me?"
Awwww Delenn! And Sinclair! Hello old friend to you too, Commander Sinclair.

Babylon 5 s01e22: Chrysalis
Table of Contents
I can't believe we're to the season finale already - and also am so impressed with this twenty-three episode season! It's been incredibly tightly written so far.
Londo and G’Kar fighting is comfortingly amusing now.
G’Kar’s shimmery green armor is gorgeous.
Yelling the dying, stabbed man’s name is absolutely the way to keep him alive and giving you info for a few extra seconds, Garibaldi. RIP Petrov.
I am such a fan of these transparent surgical masks. I would like for them to use it for scrubs, too.
A surprise…? He looks so happy I half expected him to say he’s pregnant. But it’s clearly going to be a proposal.
“Look. Do you want to get married, or don’t you?”
AHAHAHA. I had to hold my stitches. That’s fucking perfect, Sinclair, you dork.
Poor Londo. Probably pissed off all the gods by waving his tentacles around. That certainly offended me.
EW NO IT’S FAE EVIL GUY. Morden. Ugh, no.
Delenn did not look particularly happy to get a yes response from Kosh. Granted, it would be rather unnerving to get anything other than an unfathomable soliloquy out of Kosh.
Being an ambassador is pretty high position. A lot of stress. Do you really want more responsibility, ie stress, to interfere with all the boozing and womanizing, Ambassador? Don’t make deals with Morden. Bad news is written ALLLLLL OVER THIS GUY.
Kosh’s shoulder pad wings are so extra.
Delenn, did you promise to grow hair?! In exchange for looking at Kosh?!
If the situation is too big for the head of station security, maybe don’t murder station denizens? That’s guaranteed to get some officials involved.
Vir and I are on the same page. Although he’s totally out of the loop. Londo is smart. He’s got to be able to see how shady this is.
G’Kar’s robe is so slutty. Love the space slut a la Picard look.
IVANOVA. Oh she looks so cute. I wish Talia was here to see her stylin’ curly hair and that dress is just gorgeous.
Hmmm Devereaux could be special forces, or he could have stolen a special forces weapon.
SHIT Morden et al are bad, bad news. Do cloaking devices exist in B5? It seems massively overpowered for the tech we’ve seen so far. Even Vorlon tech. On par with DraalPlanet, for destructiveness.
Something is definitely going to happen to those boxes. And immediately! Inside man!
Delenn!!! And the mystery 24 hours!!! There is a lot going on. Poor Sinclair has had to do some masterful time management this season so far but this might take it to a whole new level. I will be delighted if his pedantry saves the day again.
RIP every single Narn at the outpost. Ten thousand! Very OP. Who the hell and what the hell kind of firepower? I’m surprised that G’Kar’s list of who could have done it include both the Minbari and humans. Perhaps they’re more of a real power than I’d realized.
You can do it, Garibaldi. Pass out on the party floor! What is the party for? I missed that, if it was mentioned.
Oh sheeeeeeeeet, they did not manage to prevent the presidential assassination. Chaos must be incoming. Inside Job Man is still around and fucking shit up and smearing his smirk around.
They are very into lipliner on B5.
Having A Bad Day Narn/Human solidarity:
I’m honestly surprised and impressed that Londo cares that 10,000 Narns were killed. There’s more decency in him for Narnuan lives than I’d thought.
Inside Guy doin Inside Murders.
What doin, Kosh?
There is SO much going on here.
A real, actual, physical, chrysalis?!
There is so much going on that I absolutely cannot predict at all. It’s a trip.
“He is an annoying man, but I would miss him if he…”
Londo Mollari, that was very nearly a genuine sentiment of affection!
I hate Inside Guy nearly as much as Morden at the moment.
Speak of the devil. Floating, invisible, squeaky aliens plus Morden. Only good things can come of this, I’m sure.
AND IT’S A CLIFFHANGER?! *screams and throws things*
y’all I had an extremely busy day for being this recently post-op and am actually having trouble tracking visually. Am going to have to watch the next one tomorrow.
But it will be tomorrow: pinky promise.
