Mighty Nein revisit 2025, ep 1
I'm enjoying how Matt's intro lowkey paints King Dwendal as not giving two flying shits XD
kinda obsessed with how genuinely all of these characters are introduced more kindly by the narrative than by themselves; like, pretty much the first thing we learn about Fjord, Jester, and Beau is that they helped a local guy find his lost daughter and didn't take any payment for it - and then literally they turn around immediately to establish themselves as assholes
gotta enjoy these early accents while they last, right
probably the thing I love the most about this episode is everyone cheering when Yasha rages
Sam immediately shaming Laura for her abundance of dice XD
it's so good to meet the new party: Shirley, Temple, Beau, Beau, Mary, Caleb Widogast, and That Guy Who Is Also Under Arrest

Mighty Nein revisit 2025, ep 2
WE PLAY DUNGEONS AND DRAGOOOONS!!
there's something at the back of my mind about Molly's vs Caleb's behaviour towards official authorities... can't quite grasp it atm tho
Genuinely hilarious how in ep 1 Sam was like, does anyone here have high CHA?? and everyone went like, lol apparently not. And then as soon as ep 2 starts Travis pulls out the disguises, effortless accent changes, 20+ deception & persuasion rolls. Gotta give it to Fjord to be funny on that level, actually.
first Traveler mention!!
There's also something about Nott immediately latching on to Jester's detective shenanigans. It's funny and endearing, and an extremely interesting detail for me right now, for some reason...
The way both Fjord and Caleb are (continuously) so fascinated by each other's skills/talents is very underrated imo.
first whisper!!
That prompt descent into chaos of the "investigations"

I'm watching TLOVM for the first time, and I wonder
do people who have only seen the series know that in the original campaign, Scanlan is actually allowed (and very capable) to do things?

the evolution of Fjorleb
ep. 2 - single dads with chaotic teenage daughters awkwardly connecting at a parent-teacher conference
ep. 12 - holding a sword to Caleb’s throat
ep. 22 - somehow the man throwing a panicked fit over one magic item and the man shoving another into his chest are supposed to effectively work together
ep. 32 - finding common ground over unnecessarily huge guilt complexes
ep. 42 - ‘he compromised himself for all our safety’
ep. 52 - comfortable grin at each other’s horrible comedic timing
ep. 62 - ‘I will confide in you, but I need to do it at my own pace’ - ‘that’s fair. I’ll wait’
ep. 72 - ‘and you have my Glove of Blasting’

Mighty Nein ep. 76
“It’s not Sam. It’s Britney, bitch.”
This is a good opportunity to just once again declare my love for Caleb. He didn’t do anything special, he’s just very dear to my heart with all his little endearing quirks.
Is it me or is Samliel (?) kind of a creep. XD
I want to take back everything I said about M9 planning better than VM.
But then also, this episode was worth it alone for the Fjorleb shenanigans outside the house where the others just killed someone.
On that note, can we acknowledge for a second how far Caleb has come. Staying on task, getting what they came for first, then getting the book.
Also: “The last time we broke into someone’s house, you held a sword against my throat.” vs. “This book is not really my thing, but you might find it interesting.” This episode was full of the sweetest Caleb and Fjorleb moments and it made me very happy.
in a very intense whisper: “What happens on three?!” “I’m still with you friend!” “I know that, I hear you talking! What are we doing on three?!” “We are going to walk towards the back of the house.” “Why do we have to count for that?!?”
On top of “scheiße scheiße scheiße”, what is also always super relatable is the: *German accent* “Balls.”
Ughh. Don’t even talk to me about Fjord right now, and about his softest, gentlest, warmest ‘no’ when he was pulled under water and asked if he would struggle.
gets his powers back - starts screaming I love this character so much, I can’t begin to tell you.

personal top 10 dragon encounters on Critical Role, a stream about dungeons and dragons (up to c2e75). yes I ranked them (bottom to top).
Vex, polymorphed into a red dragon, in c1e104 (because of Vex’lan solidarity)
four ancient chromatic dragons at once, in c1e39/40 (with Matthew Mercer showing off his various dragon minis, casually demolishing the largest city on the continent)
nameless young blue dragon, in c2e45 (I’m putting this before the Chroma Conclave for the sheer amount of dumbness present in the string of events that unfolded for the M9 to meet that dragon. accidentally finished off by Twiggy on her way out. may they rest in peace.)
J’mon Sa Ord / Devossa, ancient brass dragon, in c1e113 (with me being super scared about undead J’mon for a heartbeat before they swooped in with a bunch of wyvern riders like Gandalf and the Rohirrim)
Gelidon, ancient white dragon, in c2e75 (with a surprisingly well thought-out exit strategy that effectively had the dragon right outside a 10 by 10 foot shark cage threatening the M9 for a whole minute while Caleb was drawing chalk circles)
Rimefang, adult white dragon, in c1e19 (with Trinket, Burt Reynolds, and the loudest librarian on God’s green earth)
Umbrasyl, ancient black dragon, in c1e54/55 (with the galaxy brain moment of teleporting the bard and the rogue inside of the dragon - which, in all fairness, also probably deserves a spot in the top 10 dumbest plans VM ever came up with. it’s right up there.)
Raishan, ancient green dragon, in c1e (with the most poetic use of Feeblemind, finishing off VM’s arguably cleverest antagonist at an INT of 1)
Vorugal, ancient white dragon, in c1e71 (with Scanlan casting a 9th level spell to summon and then dominate a giant fucking demon straight from the Abyss)
Raishan, ancient green dragon, in c1e69 (with one of the biggest plot twists of campaign 1 that I entirely did not anticipate. yes I’m putting her reveal above her final battle. fight me. :D)
bonus points for c1e70 (because there wasn’t actually any dragon present but the Kima-Raishan slip-up will forever be fondly remembered by me as also one of the dumbest things VM ever did) and for Raishan’s guest appearance in c1e71 (because a) I wasn’t going to put three Raishan moments, and b) it was less of a Raishan and more of a Vax moment anyway, but also, when will Larkin return from the war).

Vox Machina ep. 81
“Is there a name for this?” - “Yes.” - “What’s the name?” - “Idiocy.”
Imagine you are a Dungeon Master and you let your INT 6 barbarian find the Deck of Many Things. I am very convinced that Matt, at this point, after not losing any PC to Raishan, wants to see the world burn.
I love how Kima absolutely refuses to take any loot. I imagine when Matt was designing her character he must’ve been like, how can I take a stereotypically lawful good paladin and make her as much of a headstrong asshole as humanly possible.
“Nothing escapes Laura’s mind, she’s our resident 13-year-old.” - that is why I deeply relate to her so often.
“Do you know where the island is?” - “I could attempt to think really hard about it.”
“Oh, don’t worry, you’ll get to Wildemount eventually.” - cue campaign 2.
Reclaiming Emon was, to be honest, emotional even for me, and as a viewer I haven’t known it half as well as the players.
“As soon as he leaves, I come up from the water and go, ughhh!” askgdkashdkjashfkjnsdkjsahkdjnaskjnkjndj I’M SCREAMING!!!
I know why I like Perc’ahlia better than Vax’leth, because the former are massive fucking TROLLS IS WHAT THEY ARE.
((Or maybe also because Vax and Keyleth are a lot of high school drama while Vex and Percy are getting their shit together like adults.))
Sometimes, after VM spent a bit of time with Kima, I think I might love her even more than Allura. Then Ally just downs a big swig of that sandkeg liquor without batting an eye and goes right into a scrying ritual afterwards, and I realize that I cannot possibly choose between them.
“I mean, you others can decide, BUT...”
((While Vax’leth are having another deep, dramatic conversation in Keyleth’s room, Percy and Vex are probably boning rn.))

Vox Machina ep. 73
I don’t know what is worse, Grog’s voice coming out of Travis in full Silas Briarwood costume, or Gilmore’s voice coming out of Matt in full Victor costume. This episode is giving me cognitive dissonance at its finest.
(Strangely, my brain has absolutely no problem grasping Scanlan from Sam in full tiger costume.)
I can’t, I literally can’t anymore with Vax’ numerous ‘goodbye I might be dead soon’ scenes. Get your shit together, dude. Everyone has as much chance of kicking it as you do. Write a letter, like everybody else.
Oh my god. Imagine the person you’re into turns you down and then keeps coming back to talk about it. Like. Every two weeks just stands on your doorstep specifically to tell you how much he loves you as a friend. Ohh my goddd. I personally would have LOST my MIND by now and just. Moved town. Let the lesbians deal with that magic shield. Bahamut give me strength.
(I specifically picked Bahamut over Sarenrae because from what I know of his followers, I would trust him to smack an idiot in the back of the head.)
Sorry for the outburst. XD
How dare Scanlan make a silly running gag into a deep character moment where he’s exposing some very well-kept insecurities?
Ohhh Allura’s down to dance. My girl is ready to rumble. Oh I love her so.
“Hey Allura, how many things did you throw in the Orb?” Allura: *long list of random shit* This is why I love her.
“Right now, there’s a man on an airship going, ‘do you see them yet?!’“

Vox Machina ep. 72
“Draconia has a history of separating itself from the rest of Tal’Dorei.” - well, I think 1) it’s not Draconia, and 2) it’s not Tal’Dorei? :D
Vex, Scanlan, and Grog are a surprisingly entertaining combination.
Percival de Rolo, you sly mofo!
IT’S ABOUT TIME.
Okay, also, additional note: Grog giving the longsword to Kima was so sweet. I know I’ve just written a whole extensive post about him, but on top of that, sometimes he’s just the sweetest person, really.

Calamity, ep 2, part 2 (I’m finally continuing this)
One day I want to tell my players to roll initiative as nonchalantly as Brennan Mulligan.
“Zerxus I’m the only one.” - oof that sent chills down my spine. Fuck, I feel for that oracle.
My homeboy Zerxus really just said ‘I can fix him’ about the Lord of the Hells, didn’t he. Oh my god I can’t believe this.
It was the Wizard Hubris they say, but wHAT ABOUT PALADIN HUBRIS, HUH?? WHAT ABOUT THAT?!
Listen I love Zerxus, more than I probably should to stay sane throughout all of this. But oh my fucking gods, oh gods, he is so fucking stupid, I cannot deal, I just want to punch him so bad, what a fucking stupid dumbass oh. my. gods.
oracle: very specific, very clearly worded prophecy about Avalir’s fall everyone else: ... yeah no, sounds fake, must be mad, that girl
I’m... I... wHAT? THE FUCK?! Brennan!!!
