TEA AND FAIR TRADE: INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY.
Leaves derive from the camellia Sinensis plant boiled in water with some sugar/honey served as the beverage is called Tea. India is the 2nd largest producer and tea exporter after China. Tea is the most consumed drink after water in the world. In 2019 it was reported to celebrate the culture and history of tea around the world internationally. The purpose of celebrating this day is to celebrate the benefits of tea whether it's related to health or trade purposes. It is celebrated by the tea-producing companies since 15th December 2005.
The theme for INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY 2022 is “TEA & FAIR TRADE”. The intention of this theme is to praise the facts of tea where it cultivates. Tea is mostly exported from India and China also to celebrate this to remove the hindrance unethical trade practises and enrich the resources which give access to trade in the international market. Fair trade is a global movement for people engaged in the cultivation of tea. Assuring ethical supply chain.
India as a Tea exporter
As per reports 2021, in the first ten months of 2021, the Indian tea market has diminished by 9% as compared to the previous year improbable to cross 200 million kg in 2021. Tea exporter in various states of India. Tea ranks 4th as an exporter in the world after Kenya, China, South Africa, etc. The Indian government proposed several schemes to promote tea producers in India and prompt more tea drinking. The tea industry is planning to present the Tea promotion and development act of 2022, renewing the 1953 Act which lost its today relevancy, for the expansion, upgrade, and investigation in the tea industry.

There are several types of tea but the most commonly consumed is milk tea by the majority of Indians.
