FINGERS RHYTHMICALLY DRUMMING UPON polished wood, hooded eyelids trailing upwards to meet a recruit ( his newest, it should be noted, established not even a month ago, if he isn’t mistaken ), peering into ocean’s eyes. Despite Nejire’s invigorated demeanor, not particularly complimentary to the otherwise-grim boss perched just behind the desk she sits in front of, the blue-haired girl has proven to be rather useful, all things considered.

Of course, scrutiny may be held from time to time, especially considering that the girl has only been on a handful of missions outside of the confines of headquarters. Every move is a risk; every mistake and every victory are vital to the Eightfold. Throwing a relatively new laborer into the fray always comes with risk, yet chances must always be taken when the individual strives for better, for greater things.

Rhythmic drumming – slow, gentle clicking next to a demitasse filled with sencha. “I see you’ve made it back in one piece,” is his first observation, and despite the humor intended there is a lack of lightness in his slow, lifeless voice. “That’s certainly good. As for the task I gave yourself and your coworkers, I can’t say the same, however. “But I try my best to get an update of how most missions are executed, especially when there’s a newcomer involved. It aids me in comprehending who is being useful – or, to put in better terms, who isn’t. So please, tell me, Nejire...”

Tilt of head, and he leans forward slowly, halting his drumming and resting his elbows upon a cold workdesk, entwining fatal digits between one another slowly – a simple inquiry rolling from his throat: “What happened?”

Gang Orca has a literal collection of letters and ‘fan-art’ that people have sent to his agency. Most of the letters are from little children and teens talking about how cool he is, and the fanart is usually either him beating up or EATING bad guys. Regardless of what it is, he has a trunk where he puts every single message he receives inside of - and he cherishes and reads everything he’s sent.

Occasionally, he’ll write back as well.

God, he had always hoped that he would aspire to be like the Big Three.

“I’ve always wondered, what’s it like to have all the attention on you. No matter where you go, you always have eyes on you. Does it get stressful? Do you ever regret it?” He sighed softly. “Sorry for all the questions, but I’ve wanted to know for quite some time.”

👀 nice poc icons you've got there... how'd you make them?

hello me stranger, how kind of you to ask! special thanks to @naminoodori for giving me their and their anon’s advice in this post. this obviously isn’t the only way to do it, but it works for me!

in whatever image editor you have on hand (photoshop for me), open the icon you want to use, as well as a reference image if you need one. wiggle the colour picker tool around said reference until you find a consistent skin colour, and swatch that shit. for me, this was #e0c6af.

click back onto your unedited icon tab, set the background layer to multiply, and make a new layer. then, zoom in so the icon fills as much of the screen as you can get it too.

grab the paintbrush tool and put it on 100% hardness, 100% opacity and whatever pixel size you want first, and paint all over the skin on the new layer. go right over any darker-than-the-skin-tone lines / facial features. make sure to get in all the nooks and crannies!

clean up using the erasure tool. getting eyes to look right will probably be the hardest part.

once you’re done, set that coloured layer to multiply, merge it with the other one and boom! you’ve got a darker fc.

save as a jpeg or png.

you can stop there, but if you want to have a b&w / manga icon, you can go into image -> adjustments -> black & white -> default (or whichever dropdown looks best).

if you wanna make super sure that you’re being accurate to the reference picture, you can put that under the same b&w filter and compare that shade of grey to your new icon’s via colour picker swatches.

save as a jpeg or png.
