Never Enough ~ Nam Joohyuk
Tumblr media
A sigh came from you as finally the front door opened, completely unaware of how late it was. You didn’t quite know how to react as Joohyuk finally come home, deciding to keep your eyes staring down at your phone, failing to acknowledge him as he walked into the room.
Unlike you, his eyes were firmly on you, watching you closely. Joohyuk wasn’t surprised to see you failing to respond, he knew that he was home much later than he told you he’d be, but when work called, he felt he had no other choice but to be there.
That choice had been made countless times by Joohyuk, leaving you at your apartment all by yourself. You were tired to say the least, even as Joohyuk dropped down to sit on the chair at the opposite side of the room, you just couldn’t bring yourself to smile.
“How have you been?” Joohyuk asked you, trying to break some of the tension that was in the room. “I really didn’t intend to be home as late as I was tonight Y/N.”
“I’ve heard that several times before,” you muttered under your breath.
A slight nod of the head came from Joohyuk in reply to you, not quite knowing what to say. He understood why you were so frustrated, he was annoyed himself that work had been so busy, feeling the pressure more than ever to make sure that he got everything done.
“I’m sorry Y/N,” Joohyuk told you, scratching over the top of his head as he tried to get your eyes.
You weren’t quite as willing as Joohyuk to have a conversation though. You couldn’t help but feel angry, defeated almost. The number of times Joohyuk had let you down was far too high for you to dare remember anymore.
The silence that came from you was beginning to frustrate Joohyuk too, wanting you to at least try with him. He understood so far, but the effort that you were putting in to ignore him felt slightly too much even by Joohyuk’s standards.
“Is this how it’s going to be? You’re just going to make me feel bad about this forever?”
“What else is there to do?” You quizzed, “I’ve waited here all night to talk to you, but nothing.”
A sigh came from Joohyuk as yet again he heard the annoyance that was in your voice. “I’ve got work to do Y/N, I can’t keep saying no to them because I’ve got to spend time with you, we can’t all come home at dinner and just put our feet up.”
Your eyes widened as Joohyuk managed to get a sly dig in, finally glancing across at him. “The point is you can say no sometimes, you don’t have to constantly be there. There are other people who want your time Joohyuk, even people that are lucky to finish work at a reasonable time like me.”
“Maybe I’ve not got the balance of home and work right, but what can I do?”
You couldn’t quite believe what you were hearing, almost as if Joohyuk was expecting someone else to give him the answers. If he really wanted to spend time with you then he would solve things for himself instead.
“I wish I could be at home more,” Joohyuk tried his best to tell you, “but my career is my drive, it’s what makes me who I am Y/N. I’m making a name for myself right now and I don’t want something to mess that up.”
“You mean someone like me?” You questioned, standing up from the sofa. “If you want to tell me that I’m in the way Joohyuk, then just say that.”
As soon as his eyes noticed you walking towards the direction of the stairs, Joohyuk stood up too. He took a few steps left so that he was inline with you, reaching out.
A sigh came from you as you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, refusing to let you go. “You’re not a problem in my life Y/N, I can’t believe you’d think that’s what I think.”
“Just let go of me,” you asked Joohyuk, pulling your arm away. “If I wasn’t a problem in your life then you’d want to be here with me, you’d at least notice how much this is bothering me.”
Joohyuk dropped his hand back down to his side, with his eyes still looking in your direction. He could see that you were hurting, there was no more fight in your eyes, just exhaustion and a need for something different out of your relationship.
“I’m sorry that I’ve been so consumed with work recently,” Joohyuk told you in a much calmer voice. “Perhaps there have been quite a few times when I could have told them no instead of yes.”
There was nothing else that you could do other than nod at what Joohyuk said, knowing that he was right, things could have been different, and they should have been different too.
“I’m sorry too that I’ve ended up ignoring you because of how things have been,” Joohyuk continued to tell you. “More than anything I want to be here with you, but I’m too scared to say no to the people at work, I think that’s my biggest problem.”
“You know all I’ve ever wanted is that I just want to be enough for you, but recently it’s felt as if I could not be further down the list of priorities for you.”
Your words stung Joohyuk, sending a slight shiver down his spine. He had never realised how badly his drive to stick around at work had bothered you and felt you feeling as if you didn’t matter even a little bit in Joohyuk’s life.
“I promise that I’m going to be around more, make more of an effort for us,” Joohyuk assured you as the two of you started walking back into the room. “I don’t care what it takes, things need to be better, and I need to pay attention to you. You’re not bottom of the pile Y/N, you’re always at the very top for me.”
You dropped down on the sofa, feeling Joohyuk drop down beside you. His hand rested slowly against your leg, relieved that you didn’t brush him out of the way.
You didn’t quite know how Joohyuk could fix things, or how long it would take to make a change, all you could do was be hopeful that something would give. How you were living was never how you wanted your relationship to be, and long term you knew that it was never going to work out with Joohyuk as it was.
“I’m going to speak to them at the set tomorrow and tell them that I need to be home at dinner time,” Joohyuk promised you, “that’s when you get home, isn’t it?”
“Is it really that easy for you?” You asked him in surprise, “I mean there’s so many people there relying on you, can you just turn around and go?”
Joohyuk nodded in reply to you, knowing that he had no choice but to put his foot down. “I’ll sort something out with them, no matter what it takes.”
It was a start for the two of you, but a small part of you still worried. You didn’t just want for it to be a one time thing from Joohyuk, you wanted to have many evenings with him, not just the one that he thought would please you.
“I promise that things are going to change,” Joohyuk told you once again as your eyes turned to look across at him, “I mean it Y/N too.”
“I hope you do,” you whispered, “I don’t want to be nothing to you Joohyuk, I at least want to be something.”
“You’re more than that, you’re everything.”

HE WOULD BE THE AWKWARD TYPE;
I don’t know why but I just think that when I look at him;
It may be also because of the roles I’ve seen him in;
But he’d be that awkward guy;
You know the one who fiddles with his fingers and all?
Yeah, JooHyuk would be him;
Like, he’d be uncertain whether you were actually ready;
Whether you liked him enough;
He wouldn’t be certain how far he could go;
So basically where he was supposed to have confidence, he wouldn’t really have that;
Also, he’d be slow with things;
Like, he’d spent a lot of time on just kissing and massaging your exposed skin rather than doing anything remotely `more` intimate;
     It might be due to his being uncertain, though;
The biggest encouragement and a show of you being “ready” would be your words of “Hurry up”;
Because it portrayed your impatience;
Your words, or your voice, would be like a hit on his head that would get him out of his reverie of what was wrong and what was right;
He’d be like “Oh, to hell with it” and let himself breathe a little;
His hands would slide over your body with a new-found smoothness;
His eyes would have a spark of confidence, as well;
As if you gave him a permission to do with you whatever he most desired;
And he would use that permission to his better good, as well;
But in the end, his priorities would still be concentrated on you;
He wouldn’t allow himself to go too harsh;
He’d thrust into you with controlled snaps of his hips;
Setting a wonderful pace for you- just what you needed;
And he’d see to it that your wishes were seen to before he could take care of his own;
Because you were his priority.

TAEHEE’S 100 QUESTIONS AND 100 ANSWERS
Tumblr media
“hello, everyone! this is taehee and i’m about to do 100 questions and 100 answers!”
“ah! i’m aware that taeyeon unnie did this but,” taehee chuckles nervously, “i haven’t watched it so this is really a new thing for me.” she dramatically gasps in front of the camera, bringing a hand to her forehead as if she were an actress in theater.
taehee snorts when she realizes what she had just did, leaning forward to conceal her embarrassed giggles. she hears the staff laughing along with her, and she looks up, making eye contact with every one of them. “i really don’t know why i did that,” she straightens herself up before pressing the back of her hands to her cheeks feeling how warm they got from seconds ago. “i have absolutely no idea what came over me. i’m so sorry.”
“100 questions seem like a lot though,” she tilts her head to the side, sucking in air through her teeth as she squints at the computer screen. “i might end up talking a lot- i won’t bore you, will i?” taehee looks up at the staff again, her bottom lip unconsciously jutting into a subtle pout.
her face breaks into a grin as the production crew all answer ‘no’ at the same time. they absolutely adored her. “woah, i really like your reactions,” taehee giggles, “okay, let’s start!”
Q6. BLOOD TYPE
“blood type? my blood type is o.”
a small chuckle escapes the girl, “do you guys want to know something funny?” her right hand goes to fumble with the watch on her left, it was the one her mum gave her. “my dad loved to play around, and so when i was younger, i thought my blood type was z.”
you’d hear the staff burst into laughter before taehee did, bringing a hand to cover her loud ones. “seriously! i think it was in fifth grade where i knew that wasn’t real,” she reasons out, hands making vague movements in the air as she spoke. titters were still heard behind the camera, causing taehee to shake her head at them, arms stretching out to resume typing.
“i remember my dentist laughing at me.”
Q9. HAPPIEST MOMENT OF THE DAY
taehee beams, “when we have the day off, it’s usually mark that would wake up first. he’d wake me, then jungwoo hyung, then the rest will just follow and we’d all have breakfast.”
“and even if we don’t like talk or anything, the mood’s like really calming and comforting,” she adds. “i mean that’s how i feel. so the happiest moment of my day is having breakfast with the members.”
Q10. HOBBY
“being sexy,” taehee purses her lips and shifts her gaze towards the staff wearing amused smiles on their faces, some were trying to hide their chuckles at the girl’s openness. “why?” taehee asks in an accusing tone, brows furrowing together as she looks at them incredulously. she gasps, “you don’t think so?”
“okay, fine,” she shrugs, “being pretty.”
Q11. THING YOU’RE MOST UNSATISFIED ABOUT RIGHT NOW
taehee pouts, “not seeing czennies, of course! i miss seeing them already.”
Q15. IDEAL TYPE
all the confidence from minutes ago seem to disappear the moment she reads the next question, a shy giggle sounding from taehee. “why does it suddenly feel like i’m on a dating site,” she tilts her head to the side, running a hand through her hair before typing.
“tall,” she laughs. “is that enough or should i add more?” one of the people behind the camera shout a very enthusiastic, “one more!,” causing taehee to smile brightly at them. “i really like your guys’ reaction!” she tells them, “my members should be like you more.”
“okay, they have to like the food i like, right? then... someone who likes pizza.”
Q19. MALE CELEBRITIES YOU FIND HANDSOME
“male celebrities you find handsome- OH!,” taehee claps her hands in front of her, making jazz hands in the air in excitement for a bit before typing.
“nam joohyuk, lee dongwook, park bogum,” a playful smirk spreads onto taehee’s lips, her shoulders bouncing as she types.
her eyes widen and she looks up, “they’re all single, right?”
her remark makes the production crew laugh once more, and a grin takes place on the girl’s face. “people might take it the wrong way! i’m just asking,” she brushes it off slyly, adding, “they’re all very handsome men.”
Q20. FEMALE CELEBRITIES YOU FIND PRETTY
“oh but there’s a lot though...” taehee seems to think for a moment before slowly moving her fingers across the keyboard. “emma watson.... my friend, lee naeun.... aespa’s winter....” she mumbles. “ah blackpink’s jennie unnie, she’s sexy,” and she finishes off with, “etc.”
she chuckles as she meets eyes with the staff. pumping her fist in the air, she cheers, “yes, i am very satisfied with my answers.”
“next question!”
Q21. ITEM YOU TREASURE
“i consider myself quite sentimental, so,” she types, “anything that my love ones give me.”
she raises her left wrist, twisting it to show off the vintage watch that she wore almost everyday, “i’ll be honest. i don’t like wearing watches, but my mum gave this to me like eight years ago? it reminds me of her so i wear it everyday.”
“and then this one,” she then tugs on the bracelet hiding beneath the watch, rolling the thread between her fingers, before letting it go. “this one was given to me by jaemin last year... around new years? i think.”
"the members give me stuff like these for gifts. i have a lot more at home,” she beams, “they’re in this little box on our dresser.”
Q31. ALCOHOL TOLERANCE
“i haven’t tested it but i know i can drink more than one bottle of soju,” taehee stops a smile from showing itself by biting her lip, prompting the producer to ask, “are you just saying that-”
“NO!,” she quickly protests. “i can definitely drink more than one. right? right, of course.” the production crew chuckled as she talked to herself, taehee’s dimples peeking out from the corners of her smile as she types, “more than one... for sure,” on the questionnaire.
Q41. MEMORABLE MEMORY
“ohhh,” taehee hums. “we had this like, variety show. during the last episode, all 23 members were there and we were having fun even if we were just like eating and talking with each other. compared to the previous ones, we were all doing these fun activities and like an escape room? but i found the last one the most memorable to me.”
“at that time, i really felt like i was at home.” a small smile graces taehee’s features as she nods, “wasn’t that too cheesy? it’s sincere though.”
her eyes seem to scan the computer screen and she releases a short laugh, saying, “all my ‘happy’ answers have food in them. a way to a woman’s heart is through the stomach, truly.”
Q44. FAVORITE DANCE
“malhaebwa da eoseo da 'cause i'm not shy,” taehee dances in her seat, delivering a charming wink to the camera in the end.
“actually, all of itzy’s choreography is really nice. they’re so cool.”
“OH WAIT!!! chungha sunbaenim’s choreography is so beautiful too,” taehee gushes. “have you guys seen her choreography for ‘play’? watching it feels like a piece of art. she and the dancers pull them off so well!”
she then mumbles, “i was learning the choreography to ‘dream of you’ sometime after it came out. i’m a really big fan of her.”
Q45. SONG YOU LISTEN TO MOST RECENTLY
“i’ve been listening to taylor swift’s old songs a lot recently, i can’t pick one of them,” taehee says. “i think she released a new song this month but i haven’t listened to it.”
“december’s the month where i always find myself drifting back to her,” she sighs dreamily, propping her chin on her right hand and looking at the camera with glazed eyes. “i really love taylor swift, i’ve been her fan even before debuting.”
Q46. WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT FIRST IN THE OPPOSITE SEX
“their eyes,” answered taehee, “a person’s eyes could tell a lot about the person, in my perspective. there’s like this feeling that you get when you look at them.”
“what’s the feeling that you get when you look at your members’ eyes?”
the girl snorts, tucking the loose strands of her hair behind her ear. “what i feel? i feel like they’re saying, ‘oh noona, you’re so cool. treat us to food some time.’”
taehee tsks, “haechan’s and jisung’s eyes speak the loudest.”
Q49. WHEN BETRAYED BY THE ONE YOU LOVE
“ohhhhh, this is interesting.” taehee smiles as she glances to the ceiling above them, thinking. “what would i do?”
tilting her head at the camera, she finally answers, “i’d let them go.”
“if they’re really sorry, then maybe i’d still let them in my life, but i don’t think i’d trust them the same way ever again,” she shook her head slightly, her serious tone was enough to send shivers down the spine of whoever had heard her.
Q50. WHAT YOU WISH TO GIVE TO THE ONE YOU LOVE
“mmm, trust? i want to let them know that i trust them.”
taehee cards her fingers through her hair, sighing. “trust doesn’t like, only come into play to see where a person’s loyalties lie, but it can also be like, ‘do you trust me enough to confide in me? do you trust me enough to let me help you?’ i want to be able to give that kind of trust to the people i love.”
Q55. WHEN CHUBS IS THE CUTEST
taehee squeals, “i love this question!”
“chubs stays in our dorm sometimes, before she doesn’t get to spend that much time with us but now she can. so when i’m not in the dorms, mark and jungwoo hyung just watch her because she’s like really energetic and if you leave her alone, you just won’t know what she can do,” she laughs. “and then i come home and i’m really tired so i just jump in bed and lay down for a few moments, but chubs wants to play with me so she does whatever she can do to get me to sit up and play with her.”
“and then when she notices that i’m tired or something, she’s gonna stop and lay down near me or on my stomach, sometimes she’d pat me. i don’t know where she learned that but she does that,” she chuckles, and her voice tones down a pitch softer, eyes gazing off to the side as she toys with her necklace, “that’s when chubs is the cutest.”
“i said too much, didn’t i?” taehee scrunches her nose at the camera, “i really love my dog.”
Q66. ARTIST YOU WANT TO HAVE A COLLABORATION WITH
“i don’t know if this can be considered but maybe something with ten hyung and taemin hyung,” she laughs. “like an sm station with the three of us, i think that’d be nice.”
Q80. MOST MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY PRESENT
“honestly, it would be chubs,” a wide smile makes its way onto the girl’s face as she nods. “haechan was the one who gave her to me, so it’s technically ours, i guess.”
“that’s when i felt my love for him overflow,” taehee proceeds to make gagging noises, disappearing under the table as if she were vomiting, only coming back up to jokingly ask for water. “let’s hope he doesn’t watch this.”
Q84. INTRODUCE YOUR PHONE CASE
“introduce your phone case, okay!”
taehee picks her phone up from the table and shows its back to the camera. it was a clear case patterned with cute drawings of different kinds of dinosaurs in shades of green and blue.
“it’s a dinosaur phone case. we had a video call fansign event a few months back, and one of my fans told me they call themselves dinozens,” she explains, chuckling, “but i guess jaemin knew that before me because he got this even earlier than that.”
she pointed to the picture that was stuck inside, adding, “this is the picture we took for the concert tickets. i kept some, see?”
Q85. IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
“friendship, of course!” taehee types.
“if the person i dated ever hurt me,” she winces, twitching her head to the side before nodding, “let’s just say it won’t end well if they’re going to deal with yuta oppa after dealing with me.”
Q86. IF THE EARTH DESTRUCTS TOMORROW
taehee answers before typing, fingers tapping rhythmically on the table as she props her chin on her other hand, “i’d want to go home, then surf with my dad and my mom would watch us from the shore. she tried surfing but she doesn’t like it.”
“then i’d hangout with the members, eat miso soup, play with chubs,” she lists off, “tell the person i like that i love them.” the other people that were there with her bursts into laughter once again, taehee’s body shook with every one she tried to hold as she scrolls upwards, scanning the previous questions. “nam joohyuk, lee dongwook, park bogum,” she calls, her eyes playfully squinting towards the camera, “i love you.”
Q95. WHAT I’D BECOME 20 YEARS LATER
“twenty years later? i’d be forty-two! woah,” taehee mumbles, “forty-two...”
“i’d still like to sing,” she nods. “i’m not sure if i could still dance by that time, i’ll try,” a giggle slips past her lips until she gasps, snapping her fingers, “i want a house!”
the crew laughs once again, this time at her innocence. “i’d have a house, then a car, and then there would be this space where chubs could play in. that’d be so nice.”
Q100. TODAY’S TMI
“we’re at the last question!” taehee cheers. she stands up and rolls her shoulders, smiling to the staff behind the camera as she stretches for a bit.
the girl goes back to her seat and hovers her fingers above the keyboard. “today’s tmi,” she reads, before sending a sweet smile towards the camera, “ah i woke up earlier than i usually do, so i went first and made 김치 볶음밥, with eggs, and then mark woke up and helped me, then we woke jungwoo hyung up.”
“yes, that’s how we had breakfast this morning.”
Tumblr media
“so we finished answering 100 questions! YAYYY!” taehee cheers, her dimples poking out from the sides of her face. “i had so much fun answering this. it’d most definitely change the next time i do something similar but for now, these are my answers.”
she tucks her hair behind her ear and clasps her hands together, the bracelet on her wrist making its appearance again, “i think it’d be nice if the other members do this too; see how crazy we are,” she mumbles the last bit of her sentence, intentionally wanting that part to be heard. she raises her eyebrows cheekily and pursed her lips, shrugging. “i’m very sure i wrote nothing i would regret in the future so,” she raises both of her hands before her, waving them cutely, “this was 100 questions and 100 answers with me! bye bye!”

Stranger II
Tumblr media
⋆ gif is mine
Pairing: Yang Hongwon x Reader
Genre: Underground rapper!Hongwon, Barista!Reader | angst, fluff
Word Count: 5.6k
Summary: Don’t get attached. This was his number one rule. Attachment means getting hurt. Attachment means vulnerability. You are the only person you can trust. So how could she so easily sneak past and break the walls he had worked so hard to build around his heart when all she is, is a stranger?
Warnings: cussing, some angst, hamin being a noodle
A/N: Sorry this took forever to upload, life happens ya know? Next chapter should be more exciting as the ball gets rolling. Hope you guys enjoy :)
You told yourself that no matter how in love you were with someone, you could detach yourself from your emotions enough so that—should the day come—you could live your life without them.
Looking at yourself now, you admit you’re a little ashamed. You couldn’t stop bawling your eyes out for 2 weeks straight. You guess you didn’t do as good a job ‘detaching’ as you thought you did.
You mentally slap yourself. You once lived your life without him bitch, you can do it again.
It was on a rainy Monday afternoon that you found yourself in bed—cheeto dust on your titties—marathon watching Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo. Curse Nam Joohyuk. How could a man be so goddamn perfect? He was handsome, funny, loving—and most certainly not a CHEATER.
You sigh and decide that you should probably get up and shower before Hyeri comes home and sees your miserable state. You feel bad worrying her so much. She’s always been way too kind and selfless for her own good.
You grab a fresh set of pj’s and determinedly head to the bathroom. The least you could do was stop moping and try to clear your thoughts of him. For both your sakes.
Just as you finish that thought, you catch sight of the item sitting on top of your dresser. Your favorite hoodie. His hoodie. You scowl and toss it into the trash bin. If only all men were like Nam Joohyuk. The world would be a much more peaceful place.
Tumblr media
“Sooo, hey.”
“Yeah?”
“You know how Princess Peach is always getting her ass kidnapped?”
You laugh at the odd question. “I do recall the kidnapping of the Princess Peach ass, yes.”
“Well, it just hit me. Why doesn’t the bitch ever fight back? I mean,” Jin places a hand on his hip thoughtfully, “how is it that she manages to get kidnapped by the same dude every single time? She’s a princess. Shouldn’t she have high level security?”
“Huh. I never really thought about that.”
“How could you not! She has marshmallows for bodyguards. It’s outrageous.”
“Does it really matter?” you ask.
He sounds genuinely offended. “Of course it does. You ever see Daisy getting kidnapped?”
“Well, no but—“
“Besides, isn’t it a little ridiculous how there’s this expectation that Mario has to save her? I mean, he’s not even a prince or a knight, he’s a plumber! An italian plumber! The amount of disrespect is just astronomical considering the lengths he goes to—”
“Seokjin why are we talking about this?” You ask, baffled. You take a look at your workstation and head to the stockroom to get more large size cups. Jin trails behind you, obviously upset with your lack of interest in the conversation.
“It’s a legitimate concern, Y/N. Someone needs to pay attention to these details and it is the duty of I, the consumer, to voice the—whoa whoa whoa, since when do we have oatmeal raisin cookies?!” He screeches mid-rant, staring at a pack of cookies he holds in his hand.
You whip around to have a look, not believing your ears. “What the fuck?”
It’s true. The box of oatmeal raisin cookies sits atop the third shelf, right next to the double chocolate chip cookies.
“The boss sent an email out on Sunday,” Yoongi stands at the doorway holding a box of promotional flyers. If it were possible, you swear tumbleweed would have made its way between the three of you with the silence that follows as you and Jin stare at each other blankly.
“Which,” Yoongi drawls out, “I guess neither of you read.” he states dryly, walking away.
“Who the hell likes oatmeal raisin?” Jin asks defensively. Personally, you couldn’t agree more. Oatmeal cookies on their own were tolerable—it was the raisin part that completely ruined the entire cookie.
“They’re Satan’s spawn,” he scowls, tossing the aforementioned cookie back in the box as if it had personally insulted him. You chuckle and shake your head, walking back to your station with the box of plastic cups.
You start stocking them back up on the counter, making sure it looks neat.
“Hey Jin,” Yoongi calls out from the front of the store, “can you grab that window marker and write out the menu again? The rain washed some of it off.” He says, examining the missing bits of letters, nose scrunched in annoyance.
You could practically hear the way the older boy starts seething at Yoongi’s lack of use in honorifics. The tips of his ears flare a bright red, his eyes wide in disbelief.
“I’M SORRY, COME AGAIN?! I couldn’t hear you over the DISRESPECT.”
Seokjin takes great pride in being the oldest of the crew. He enjoys taking care of the others as if they were of his own blood, you included. He has a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor—but never overbearingly so—always exaggerating his facial expressions and reactions, which you personally find charming. Seokjin is also infamous for his constant dad jokes, the younger ones usually cringing at their cheesiness and have you bending over in laughter. (The other boys beg you to stop egging him on as it only fuels his desire to keep them going.) That being said, Jin is not someone who gets easily irritated. When it comes to certain things, he is just, well, a bit of a drama queen.
You stifle a laugh, watching as Yoongi pinches the bridge of his nose, a heavy sigh leaving his mouth, very obviously regretting his choice of words. “Hyung, will you please go rewrite the menu outside?”
“Thank you! Can’t you just do that from the get go? I swear you kids are so ungrateful sometimes. I mean, you all seem to forget how I practically raised you brats—”
“Hyung, please get your ass outside or so help me I will go into that break room right now, clock out, take the longest nap of my damn life and just leave you two out here to die.”
“Alright, alright,” he says, putting his hand up, “I’m going geez. What a drama queen.” He huffs his way to the entrance, shaking his head, marker in hand. “And you guys say I’m the dramatic one.” He scoffs, shaking his head.
Yoongi stands there looking up at the ceiling with his hands on both hips as if silently asking the heavens for a tiny shred of patience.
You snicker behind your hand. You swear hearing those two bicker is your daily source of serotonin.
Tumblr media
It’s 3 more hours into your shift when Hamin shows up at the front counter with his signature soft boy smile.
He first visited the cafe during the summer one day back when you had just been hired. The intense summer heat wave had him coming in search of some shelter from the sun and a drink to cool off. The Grind was promoting the seasonal summer drinks and naturally, as a new hire, you tried your best to advertise it. It was only your second day on the job and in your nervous state you sold him a drink that, to just your luck, wasn’t available that day. You apologized profusely afraid that he would turn out to be a Karen, but Hamin had been very sweet about it. He befriended you after that, making frequent visits to the Grind, declaring that he had found a hidden gem.
After talking to him some more you learned that Hamin had studied psychology for two years at a local college before he decided to drop out and pursue his musical career. Of course he didn’t tell you that last part up until a couple of weeks ago, so you had been under the impression that the reason he spent so many hours at the coffee shop was to study for his exams. You weren’t the type of person to pry into someone’s personal life unless they decided to tell you themselves so you never asked. Ever since Hongwon confessed to you that both he and Hamin were working towards becoming musicians, Hamin began to share more about himself to you. He figured that now that the cat was out of the bag, he could be more open with you. Prior to that day, you knew very little about Hamin’s personal life.
“Hey you! You’re back,” you beam.
“Yeah, gotta grind,” he pats his bag for emphasis. “Ha! Grind...” he snorts suddenly. “Get it? Cause we’re at...” he gestures to the shop and laughs to himself. He looks goofy standing there in his bright lavender tie dye hoodie, a big contrast to the muted colors of the walls. His tall lean form stands out like a sore thumb. An Adidas baseball cap adorns his head but it’s so washed out you can’t even tell what color it is—or is supposed to be.
You laugh, shaking your head.
“Oh come on, it was funny,” he says, leaning on the counter.
“It was funny the first couple times Jin said it when I just started working here,” You correct.
“You still laughed though,” he winks at you, making you laugh again. “Anyway,” he straightens up, “Can I get the usual, please?”
You grab a cup and start writing his name. “Just you this time?”
“Nah, my idiot friend is coming but he’s gonna run late so I’ll just order ahead of him.” He sighs, reaching into his pocket in search of his wallet. “How much is it?” He asks, fumbling through a bunch of receipts and cards.
You wave him off. “On the house.”
“No way, I can—”
“Hamin, dude, relax. You do this every time. I keep telling you, discount: friend. Total: zero.”
“You gotta let me pay every now and then. I don’t want your coworkers to think I keep coming here to leech off you…”
“Look, if you were really taking advantage of me, you wouldn’t keep disappearing on me for weeks at a time. Consider it an advance payment for when you finally let me hear a song of yours. ”
“Sorry…” He smiles sheepishly, “It’s a deal then. Thanks Y/N, you’re the best,” he grins. You flip your hair dramatically, playing along.
You make his drink and note that work is slow enough, so you head over to his table instead of calling him over.
You place his drink on the table, “so what’re you working on today?” He looks up and thanks you, taking a sip before he answers.
“A solo project. I don’t have anything now that’s worth listening to though…” He says dejectedly. Admittedly, he’s been going though somewhat of a writer's block.
“That’s okay! I didn’t mean to pressure you. Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be glad to give it a listen if you’re still willing to let me. Good music also takes time, right?” You smile encouragingly.
Someone yells out your name before he’s able to respond. You turn at the sound, “Oh hey!” you exclaim when you see your roommate. You turn back to wish Hamin luck on his writing.
Tumblr media
“Thanks for the lunch, Hyeri,” you pat your stuffed tummy in satisfaction. “I forgot to prep mine last night so I was honestly just gonna wait until I got home to eat,” you confess meekly.
She showed up during your shift planning to ask you what kind of food you were in the mood for so she could bring it to you, but Yoongi caught on and sent you on your lunch break so the two of you could eat together instead. Min Yoongi was a godsend.
“I knew it! Y/N, you have to eat your meals! Do you know how detrimental it is to your health if you’re constantly working and skipping your meals?!” you cower as she scolds you.
“I know…sorry. I just forgot...” you squeak.
“Ugh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to raise my voice, I just worry about you,” she sighs, taking her seat again.
“And I’m so thankful!” you say quickly placing your hand on hers, “I’m sorry you’re always having to take care of me. I’ll work harder so that I don’t become a burden to you. I promise. I haven’t been myself these days but...just give me some time.”
She grabs your hand with both of hers, “Hey. You’re never a burden to me, Y/N. You’re like a sister to me. And I would never put your emotions against you. You need time to heal and that’s okay. Take it at your pace. I will always look after you, no matter what. Okay?”
Your heart warms at her words. You were so grateful to have her for a best friend. You engulf her in a hug and look at the time.
“I should head back. My break is just about over. Thank you for everything, Hyeri. Are you staying? I’ll make you a drink. On the house. You can study there?” you ask.
“Well, I was planning on going to my school’s library, but I guess I could use a drink…” She paused for a moment. “Is Jungkook working today?” She asks, hopeful.
Her crush on your coworker was so amusing. “Unfortunately for you, not today, sorry.” She pouts cutely.
“I’ll make you a green matcha latte?”
“Pretty please.”
You giggle, “Okay, let’s head back then.”
It was a good thing the two of you decided to eat at the chinese restaurant across the shop, so the walk isn’t long. You came here so often that the kind elderly woman who owned the restaurant had memorized your order. You couldn’t help it that their sweet and sour chicken was bomb as hell. What you would give for that recipe.
You’re internally groaning at the thought of having to go back into work when Hyeri stops in front of the entrance and lets out a low whistle.
“Whoa, hey. Which one of your coworkers drives a damn motorcycle?!” She points to a sleek, graphite motorcycle parked on the curb, two cars away from yours.
“Whoa. Uhh...no one, not that I’m aware of. Jin drives a Honda Civic and Yoongi ubers cause of car issues.” You shrug, opening the door. “Must be a customer’s.”
“Well, I don’t know if it’s just me, but that thing is screaming big dick energy.” She says, following behind you. You laugh and smack her shoulder.
“You say that but what if it’s some old bald dude that listens to metal?” You ask, leading her to a table farther in the back so she can study peacefully.
“Well err...hopefully not. I’m just saying whoever rides that thing, I wouldn’t mind riding too. Hell, I could ride all night…” she trails off. You bury your embarrassed face in your hands and try to hold in your laughter so you don’t disturb the customers.
“Oh my god. Stop talking. You’re gonna get me in trouble.” You point at a chair, “Sit here and I’ll bring your drink. Behave,” you warn playfully.
“Yes ma'am,” She winks and points shooter fingers at you. You laugh with a roll of your eyes, heading back to clock in.
Tumblr media
“You seem...distracted.” Hamin says, amusement lacing his words.
“Huh?” Hongwon turns at the accusation with wide eyes.
He sighs. “I mean,” he says crossing his arms, “ever since you got here 15 minutes ago, it’s like you keep looking around for...something.”
“So, you’re saying for the past 15 minutes you’ve been watching me like a creep?” He turns his attention back to the music software in front of him. “I told you I don’t swing that way.” he says, clicking random notes on the half-finished project.
Hamin snorts. “Don’t change the subject. What‘s got you so distracted dude?” He asks, slurping up the remains of his drink through his straw.
“The only distraction here is the eggplant sitting in front of me...” He trails off when you enter the coffee shop with your friend in tow. You’re laughing, giving her a smack on the shoulder playfully at a joke she tells you.
Hamin stops his obnoxious slurping when he follows his friend’s gaze. “Ohhhhh!” he grins.
“What?” He snaps. “No ohhhh. Whatever you’re thinking, stop it right now.”
“I’m not thinking anything.” Hamin brings his hands up defensively. “Brain empty. No thoughts.” He taps the side of his head with his index finger. “Buuuttt if you were so interested you could’ve just asked, you know.”
“And what would I have asked exactly?” He asks with a tinge of annoyance.
Hamin tsks under his breath, exasperated. “Oh come on. I mean Y/N. You wanted to know if she was working. Am I right or am I right?”
“Why the hell would I wanna know that? I don’t even know her. ”
“Hongwon!” He’s caught off guard at the sound of your voice. He internally slams his own head against the table and forces a smile when you approach the table, avoiding Hamin’s gaze.
“Y/N, hey…”
“Hold on, you know each other already?” Hamin asks obnoxiously, “I only briefly mentioned you to him, but you already know his name!” Hongwon shoots daggers at the side of his head.
“Actually,” Hongwon says through gritted teeth, “we talked for a bit when I was on my way out the other day. It would have been rude of me to not introduce myself since she’s your friend.”
“He was even kind enough to walk with me on the way home even though it was raining. Thanks for that by the way, you really didn’t have to do that.”  Hamin’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise. Shit. The smile you give him is so sincere that he almost misses what you say completely.
“Really!” Hamin grins, clearly enjoying the situation. He pats his shorter friend’s head in mock endearment. “That’s so sweet of him! I mean, considering he lives in a completely opposite di—” Hongwon sends a swift kick to his shin underneath the table.
“Fuck!” Hamin rubs the spot and laughs through the gritted teeth. “I mean...that’s sweet of him considering he’s normally so shy.” He growls at Hongwon and plasters a smile when he looks back at you. You probably think they’re both lunatics.
“Right…” You laugh, unsure of what’s happening. “By the way, did you want a drink? I’ll make it for you.” You tell Hongwon.
“Oh, uh yeah I was just gonna get an americano. Let me just—” He starts to stand up and take out some cash when you stop him.
“Are you sure that’s okay?” He asks. “I don’t want to get you in trouble…”
“Don’t worry, I get free drinks and pastries since I work here.” You say.
“And she shares them with me because I’m her favorite customer. Right, Y/N?” Hamin wiggles his eyebrows at you. You laugh and pick up his empty cup.
“Is he always this much of a moron when he comes here?” Hongwon asks, scrunching his face in distaste. You laugh and ask them to wait while you bring them coffee.
Hamin waits until you’re completely out of ear shot before he begins his interrogation.
“You know, for a pair of strangers, you two seem very well acquainted.” He states, eyes narrowed.
Hongwon scoffs. “You know, I don’t know if anyone’s ever told you this but somehow you have a really punchable face.”
“I don’t know if anyone’s ever told you this, but you’re a terrible liar.”
“Oh shut up. I didn’t lie. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t think I needed to.”
“‘I don’t even know her,’” Hamin mimics.
“I don’t know her. I know her name, that’s it. Not the same thing.”
“So you like her.”
He laughs. “What are you, five? How could I like her? I just met her, idiot.”
“You walked her home.” He says pointedly.
“Part way. I only did it because it was getting late and she’s your friend.”
“Ha! Since when do you care about my friends?”
“She’s a girl, it’s different. If something happened to her because I looked the other way, it’d be on my conscience.”
“You live in completely opposite directions.”
“So what?”
“You wouldn’t even do that for me.” Hamin deadpans.
“Yeah but you’re not a cute girl.” He shrugs, crossing his arms.
“So you think she’s cute!” He slams both hands onto the table, leaning forward to peer into Hongwon’s face accusingly.
“So what? She is cute.” He shoves him away, “that doesn’t mean I like her.”
“Hmm. Okay.” Hamin smirks and leans back in his seat.
“What?” He snaps.
“Nothing,” He says with a look on his face that screams everything but nothing.
Hongwon drags his hands over his face. “You really piss me off, you know that?”
“You may have mentioned that before,” he replies, appearing unbothered.
He’s lucky you decide to come back at that moment. He swears he’d have slapped the smile off his face had he been left alone with Hamin for a minute longer.
You set down the coffee and start to walk back to the counter. “Well, I shouldn’t bother you guys too much so I’ll leave you to it.”
“Wait, Y/N!” Hamin shifts in his seat to face you. “Are you busy Friday?” This puts Hongwon on alert.
“Hmmm...no, I don’t think I have anything going on actually. Why what’s up?”
“You’ve been wanting to hear some of our music for a while now, right? Well,” he loops an arm around Hongwon’s shoulder, “guess who has a gig that night?”
“No way!” You squeal, covering your mouth with both hands. “Wait, but I thought you didn’t have any music that’s finished.” You frown.
“Well, it’s not that we don’t, I just kinda wanted you to hear our new stuff first. But now that I think about it, this is as good a time as any. If you’re interested, a friend of ours is hosting a party and he asked a couple of artists to play for him. It’s at the Henz Club.”
“You mean that scary looking club in Mapo-gu?”
“Scary? I mean sure, some odd looking people hang around there, but they’re all pretty chill for the most part. Right Hongwon?”
Hongwon slaps his arm away. “Right. Well, you’re welcome to come but you don’t have to if you’re uncomfortable.” He supplies. “We’d understand if—oof!”
“Nonsense!” Hamin butts in, shoving his elbow into Hongwon’s side. “You can bring your friend over there if you want, so you don’t have to worry about being alone.” He motions his head in the direction of Hyeri who—not so discreetly—pretends like she hasn’t been trying to make out what the three of you have been talking about for the past 10 minutes.
“Ah, but either way we won’t ditch you after the performance, I promise. How about it?”
Hongwon is still recovering from having the wind knocked out of his lungs and before he knows it, somehow you’re agreeing and Hamin is giving you the details.
“I’m so excited, I can’t wait to hear you guys.” You say cheerfully.
“You should see this guy on stage,” Hamin gestures to Hongwon, “he really puts on a show. Like a true rockstar.”
“You know, you saying that doesn’t make me feel good,” Hongwon says with a frown, sitting back in his chair defeatedly.
“Oh and don’t be surprised if you hear a lot of screaming.” He ignores him, “There’s always a lot of fangirls, especially for Hongwon. They literally come in swarms, it's crazy.”
“Oh my god. Stop. You’re so embarrassing.” He groans, looking away.
“Wow, you’re really hyping him up,” you laugh.
“Ignore him. He’s just saying whatever the hell he wants.”
“No way, it’s really the truth.” He insists, folding his arms across his chest.
“Y/N! We need you in the back!” Yoongi calls out, his head poking out from the staff only door.
“I gotta go. I guess I’ll see you guys on Friday!” You say, waving. “Coming!” You call out, following after your coworker.
Hamin smiles stupidly as you leave. “Isn’t she sweet!”
Tumblr media
Hamin and Hongwon hang around at the café for a few more hours until they decide to grab a bite to eat. For the remainder of the time they spent working on their music, Hongwon had not uttered a single word. The most Hamin had gotten out of him was a “sure” when he suggested they get burgers before heading home.
He exits his car, watching as Hongwon removes his helmet to fix the mess it makes of his hair.
Sighing deeply, Hamin leans against the side of his car, hitting the park button on his remote. “Come on, don’t be so cold. How long are you gonna give me the silent treatment for?”
He slips his hands into the pockets of his jeans, dreading to ask but needing to know. “Are you really that pissed off because I invited her?”
Hongwon slips the hollow side of his helmet onto the handlebar and mimics Hamin, leaning against his motorcycle. “Depends,” he says, taking out a pack of cigarettes from his back pocket to light one up, “why’d you invite her?”
Hamin considers his answer carefully, shifting his weight onto the other leg. It’s obvious that Hongwon is already upset, so anything he says will probably get him angry anyway. “I was hoping maybe you guys could hit off,” he says at last, deciding to be honest.
In truth, Hongwon isn’t surprised to hear this—he actually suspected it—but it still pisses him off nonetheless. It wasn’t the first time Hamin tried setting him up with someone. He wasn’t looking for a relationship. This was something he had told him countless times and yet, he continues to pull stunts like this.
“I know you said you aren’t looking for a relationship,” Hamin continues when he proceeds to bring the cigarette to his lips without a reply, “but I just think you could at least talk to her and—“
“And then what? We fall in love, get married and ride off into the sunset?” He cuts him off abruptly.
“No, I just—“ he starts to say but stops when he can’t think of how to word it correctly.
“I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking Y/N went through a bad breakup, and so did I. You think maybe the two of us can find the comfort we couldn’t find with our previous relationships, in each other.” He pauses to take a drag of his cigarette.
“I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but that's a load of shit. This idea you have that love can just make me forget about all my trauma, is a load of shit.” Hamin flinches at the sudden aggression in his tone. This really didn’t come across the way he intended it to.
“Guess what, I’m fucked up Hamin!” He continues, raking a frustrated hand through his hair. “I have too many damn issues and I don’t need some chick to try to figure me out or fix me. I told you already, I’m happy with the way things are. I’m not gonna play into your stupid games just because you want to play fuckin’ cupid.” Hongwon scowls, taking another drag of his cigarette.
Hamin keeps his gaze on the ground, frustrated with how easily and accurately Hongwon is able to guess what he’s thinking. He didn’t realize how terrible it all sounded out loud. He racks his brain for something—anything—to say and argue that those aren’t his intentions, but Hongwon is speaking again before he’s able to do so successfully.
“I don’t care if you invite her. Just don’t go expecting anything out of me.”
He nods his head weakly. “I didn’t mean for it to sound like that, bro…” He says scratching his neck, “I’m not trying to find someone to fix you...” he trails off.
“It’s cool.” He sniffles, the cold air getting to him. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to snap like that.”
Hamin is taken aback for a second, not expecting him to apologize. He kicks the floor with his sneaker, “S’cool.”
“You still hungry?” Hamin asks, afraid that their little spat would create unnecessary tension between them.
Hongwon tosses his cigarette onto the floor to put it out with his sneaker. “Fuckin’ starving.”
Tumblr media
You went home together with Hyeri later that afternoon once your shift was over. It was always nice to go home when the sun was setting and the air felt cooler. You loved how quiet the city got, allowing you to simply be one with your thoughts.
Unfortunately for you, today was not one of those days.
You release a sigh as you continue to pretend to not notice Hyeri’s constant fidgeting. “Hyeri, if you want to know so badly just ask already.”
She releases a giant breath as if she had been holding it this entire time. “Oh thank goodness because I felt like I was actually going to die if you didn’t say something soon,” she says grabbing your arm excitedly, like a puppy who was just called over by its owner.
“What were you doing with those two hotties I’ve never seen before?” You couldn’t tell what made her more excited―the fact that she found them so attractive or the fact that you were talking to men other than your coworkers. “Is one of them single?” she stops walking and gasps, “Are they both single?!”
An older lady walking her Chihuahua gives you a scornful look as she passes the two of you and you bring your finger to your lips to shush Hyeri. “Sorry,” she says with a giggle, “but this is huge!”
You pull her along with you to cross the short crosswalk and to the steps of your apartment complex, “It’s not a big deal. Besides, you’ve seen Hamin before.” You say, slipping your house key into the lock and opening the door.
“Okay but, this time there was another guy too. And you guys talked for like 20 minutes! On your shift!” She says, removing her shoes quickly to stand in front of you excitedly. You stop untying your shoelaces to give her a look.
“He’s a friend I made through Hamin. Who is also just my friend,” You tell her slowly as if you were explaining it to a child but you can tell by her smile that she’s not listening. You sigh and slip your work shoes off, putting them in the hallway closet. Hyeri hovers behind you, not wanting to be too pushy but also too worked up to leave you alone.
You stand up straight and turn around. “Okay fine. Hamin invited me to this party,” this already has Hyeri clasping her hands over mouth, “he and his friend are playing a gig for a friend—”
She’s squealing and jumping around before you can finish your sentence. “And they want you there as their plus one! Oh my—”
“But I think Hamin knows about the breakup and he feels bad and that’s why he invited me,” you say quickly. Hyeri stops mid spin to give you an incredulous look. “I mean, they kind of saw the whole thing since it happened at work,” you say glumly.
Hyeri wraps her arms around you when she sees how you deflate at the reminder. “Hey, don’t make such a sad face. You guys have been friends for a while now, right? I haven’t met the guy but I’m sure he invited you because he wants you there and not because he pities you.”
“Sorry. I think I’ve been trying too hard not to think about it so all the negative thoughts are really hitting me now,” you say, resting your head on her shoulder. She always had such a comforting mom warmth to her.
She releases you and gives you a comforting smile. “Do you want to go?”
“Well,” you sit on your bed exhausted, “I actually didn’t know Hamin played music until recently. I’ve really been wanting to hear some of his stuff and apparently his friend does music too..”
“Girl, there’s your answer! Who says you have to spend your days sad and alone after a breakup? If you want to go, go.” She encourages you. She had a point. Although somewhere in the back of your mind, you felt guilty. When Hamin invited you, you were super stoked and set on going but now that you were really thinking about it, you couldn’t help but think of Jaewon.
“I can tell you’re overthinking this,” Hyeri says. “Don’t. You’re a free woman! Free from a man who took advantage of you and didn’t know how to treasure you. Do whatever the fuck you want because it’s no one’s business. It’s not like you’re planning to go sleep around.” She crosses her arms across her chest, “and even if you are guess what, it’s still no one’s business.” She says vehemently.
You pick at your nails and bite your lip. “Okay.”
“Okay?!”
“Yeah, I’ll go.”
She squeals again and launches herself onto you. You land with an oof on your bed, her head barely missing yours by an arm hair. “Oh, one more thing though,” you manage to say from beneath her. “They kind of invited you too.”
Hyeri lifts herself up at this. She stares at you with wide eyes, “what do you mean?”
“I guess they saw us talking together and figured we were friends. Also, they caught you trying to eavesdrop on our conversation.” You tell her.
“Nooooooooooo,” she cries and runs to throw herself onto her bed face flat.
“It was the hiding behind an upside down textbook for me,” you snicker.
“Y/N, please I’m in the middle of dying of embarrassment.”

Disclaimer: I do not write smut anymore, I wrote one smut on this blog and realized that it wasn’t for me, but I keep it up since I worked really hard to finish writing it and it is also a piece of writing that is very long and took a lot to write, and I don’t want the time I spent on it to go to waste. So please do not request for me to write smut because I am no longer writing that genre. But if you want something suggestive, then I am perfectly okay with writing that, and have no problem fulfilling that request.
Edits:
Just send in an ask of who you want an edit of and what kind of color and aesthetic you want it to have and I'll reply when I'm done.
Writing:
Send in an ask of what you want me to write and who about and I'll post it when I'm done. I do take a little while to write, about a week or two depending on the ask/group. For instance, if you want a reaction for a group with a lot of members, it'll take more time. So all in all, it really depends on what is being requested, but if it's taking longer than usual, I'll reach out to you so you know that I'm working on it.

Note
you know how you realise someone isn't as nice as you thought and then by association you wonder if their friends are at least slightly as bad as them because surely when you're close friends you can't hide all of your personality, some of it is known and agreed to and now ever since the jisoo thing broke out i wonder what nam joohyuk's reaction must be rn? like he'll have to stop associating with him at least in public but did he know he was trash? because if so then what does that make him? but then celebrity friendships are often a scam as well so maybe neither of them really care
it’s honestly impossible to know like similar people do group together but who also hasn’t ended up friends with someone they later realize was awful, it’s happened to me with people i’ve been close to for years many times where i realize i actual don’t like them at all so i don’t think it’s fair to condemn him in this situation. they also met thru work a considerable time after jisoo was out of school when he was an adult and presumably more careful with his actions so it’s not like he had a sign on his head that he’s a dick but who knows what they did/talked about privately. i don’t deny the possibility of anything but like making friends who turn out to be bad people is part of the human experience like shit happens it just matters how people act after the truth comes out

Set Visits ~ Nam Joohyuk
Tumblr media
You hovered just away from the cameras as soon as you arrived on set, not wanting to cause any bother. Luckily for you, you noticed Joohyuk on set almost straight away, reading through his lines before the director shouted for the cameras to start rolling.
He had no idea that you were watching as he began to act out the scene, one that you had helped him rehearse his lines for just a couple of days prior. As the scene began, you felt pretty settled watching Joohyuk, but then your eyes landed on the female lead of the drama, someone who Joohyuk had told you nothing about.
Your eyes couldn’t help but be drawn by her, she had a bright smile that lit up the room, eyes that managed to hold the attention of anyone who looked her way, and the figure that complimented any outfit that she wore.
You were on edge to say the least as you watched the two of them, smiling weakly though as soon as the director yelled cut, with both of the actors breaking away, and Joohyuk spotting you almost straight away hidden behind a couple of staff members.
“You came,” he grinned, weaving through the staff to get to you and wrap his arms around your waist tightly.
You tried your best to widen your smile as your hands landed against his chest. “Of course, you asked me to come down and cheer you on, so here I am,” you responded, keeping half an eye still looking around the set.
Straight away Joohyuk could tell that you were a little on edge, you weren’t holding him like you usually did, or engaging with him as enthusiastically as you usually did either. He wasn’t too sure what was going on as his eyes studied you, noticing how often you kept glancing across to the set and following people around.
Whilst you knew that the two of them were just acting, you couldn’t help but be aware of Joohyuk’s co-star. He had told you nothing about her, something that you never really thought of, until you finally got to see exactly who she was.
“What did you think of the scene? I only managed to act it so well because you helped me out,” Joohyuk told you, pressing a kiss against the side of your head.
“I’m nowhere near as good as an actor as she is though,” you humbly replied, turning around yet again to take a look at where his co-star had gone, “she definitely makes you look good.”
It was the tone in your voice as you spoke that quickly made the penny drop for Joohyuk, chuckling to himself as he began to figure out what was going on. “You know that everything that goes on around here is all very professional, don’t you?”
“Y-yeah,” you stuttered, tilting your head back to look up at Joohyuk, feeling his serious eyes stare back down at you. The more you stared back at him, the more you began to wear down, reminding yourself of just how well Joohyuk knew you.
“So, if I ask you if you’re feeling a little unsettled about who I’m starring with in this drama, you’re not going to tell me that you’re feeling insecure are you?” Joohyuk enquired, slowly breaking your walls down brick by brick.”
“I can’t help it,” you admitted to him, “who wouldn’t feel awkward watching her act with their partner when she looks like that.”
“Come on,” Joohyuk whispered, taking a hold of your hand and leading you off of the set, away from everyone, the noise and the people, to be able to get you alone and make sure that you could hear everything that he had to say to you.
You made no argument as you followed Joohyuk, feeling his hand remain firm on yours as he led you down a corridor where no other member of staff on the drama would be.
“You don’t need to feel threatened, insecure, or anything else by her,” Joohyuk instantly reassured you, keeping his eyes watching over her. “As lovely as I think she is, I promise you now that she doesn’t compare to you.”
You smiled weakly across to Joohyuk as you tried your best to replace the little voice that was in the back of your mind with Joohyuk’s words.
“Watching the two of you act felt really real,” you explained to him, “like I was being given a glimpse into your world without me there.”
A soft sigh came from Joohyuk as he weakly smiled in your direction, “it was all just acting, I wasn’t even me, I was a character, and so was she, it was all just fictional.”
“I know that,” you tried your best to assure him, “but there was something about it that just panicked me. Straight away she took my breath away when I watched her act, I can’t begin to imagine how guys react around her.”
“I wouldn’t know,” Joohyuk simply whispered, pulling you a little closer towards him. “I just see her as a colleague, although I’m sure if you asked a couple of the cameramen they’d tell you, I think a few of them are a little obsessed.”
“How are you not? I mean just look at her Joohyuk.”
His head nodded, “why would I be when I get to look at you instead? I’ve already won the jackpot; no other prize is better than you.”
Joohyuk got it, he knew his line of work could be a lot for partners who weren’t in the industry. You found yourself surrounded by perfection a lot of the time, leaving you no choice but to feel like you needed to compare yourself.
No matter how many times you did it though, Joohyuk never failed to be there for you and reassure you that you had no reason to worry every single time. He appreciated that there were tough moments for you, and always worked through them with you.
“Will you stick around for the rest of the day?” Joohyuk asked you, “I’d love to actually introduce you to her, I think the two of you could actually get along really well.”
Your head nodded in reply to him, feeling that he made a good point. Maybe an introduction or a conversation would help to ease your mind, remind you that the actor who had left you feeling insecure was human just like you were.
“I need you here to cheer me on and motivate me,” Joohyuk added, hugging you into his chest to be able to press a kiss to the top of your head.
“Seeing as I helped you with your lines, I’ve got to make sure that you act them out perfectly,” you reasoned, hearing a laugh come from above you.
As you finally settled again, a sigh of relief came from Joohyuk. “This drama is shaping up to be great, I think you’re going to love it.”
“It’s got you in it, of course, I’m going to love it.”
“I think it’ll be your favourite one that I’m in,” Joohyuk clarified to you, “the scripts that I show you just don’t do it justice.”
Your head nodded back at Joohyuk, “I don’t want to many spoilers, I enjoy watching the episodes for the first time once they’re done.”
“You have to get some spoilers today,” Joohyuk encouraged, “I’m not letting you leave; you have to stay and watch me.”
“I’ll cover my eyes during the good bits.”

hey hi helloo~ so,,,you kinda seem like you know lots of kdramas,,,,and i wanted to ask you,,,if you could recommend me some of your favorites? tbh anything would be fine kdjs it can be something where i can cry my heart and soul out or something really cute! that's totally up to you (but something where i can absolutely get emotionally invested in that it shatters my heart is what i probs need rn tbh 😩✊🏻)
this is my time to shine 🤓🤓🤓 i DEFINITELY CAN !!! esp for my favorite follower 😔💕 also this is gonna be pretty long bc i gave a lot of info for each drama so i’ll put a read more~!
_ MY PERSONAL FAVS _
go ho’s starry night- a chinese-korean collaboration drama starring snsd's yuri, kim youngkwang (the secret life of my secretary), and lee jihoon (legend of the blue sea) - go ho (yuri) is a dedicated worker who deals with her grumpy boss and quirky coworkers. she requests to be transferred to a different team, where she discovers her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, and then basically there forms a harem of 5 of her coworkers who all like her- super fluffy!! episodes are only about 15 minutes long each, and although there is angst, there's a lot more comedy and fluff. the relationship between the two main leads is adorable and had me squealing way more than once
put your head on my shoulder- a chinese drama starring fair xing (master devil do not kiss me) and lin yi- si tu mo is a bubbly girl who moves into a house only to find out that the owner's nephew (?), gu wei yi,  is already living there, and the two end up living together. si tu mo is sweet and outgoing, while gu wei yi is quiet and intellectual- SO cute. although the plot seems cliche, the focus is not really on them living together, that's just what brings them together originally, and the main lead isn't the stereotypical "cold and super smart asshole" type, he's actually very sweet. there are a lot of episodes but i would definitely recommend watching this!
like- a korean webdrama that you can find on youtube starring kim yu an, kim kangmin (maybe, maybe not), yoo jungwoo (love after school), and seo ji hye- about a group of students who create a film club to make youtube videos and the dumb shit they get into, plus there's some romance, betrayal, and fuckboys. - so so so so cute honestly. the dynamic between the characters of the club is so cute and funny, plus the love triangle has me wheezing. also the asshole fuckboy gets what he deserves which is super satisfying. it hasn't finished airing yet, but so far it's really cute
failing in love- korean webdrama  you can find on youtube starring son sang yeon (triple fling), yang hye ji, and shin yoon seop- about a group of high schoolers who deal with falling in love, crushes, rejection, etc.- ok so the summary i gave was pretty vague but that's because any more and i'd be exposing the whole plot. there is humor and fluff but also teenage angst, and the characters are all more complex than they first appear. i would highly recommend this show !!!
i have 3 boyfriends- short webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim ji eun, park sungwoo (produce 101 season 2 [that 30 year old dude who danced to rain's song OMG], moon jihoo, and lee jungsik - when la hi gets in a car accident and wakes up with amnesia she finds that she has 3 men all claiming to be her boyfriend.- OK LISTEN . this show is so funny and cute. let me just say: you MUST watch to the end. that's all i'll say. pLS WATCH
last minute romance- two episode drama special starring han seung yeon (age of youth) and lee seo won (the liar and his lover)- when baek se finds out she has terminal cancer and only has a short time to live, she desperately wants to complete her one bucket list item: date her favorite actor. it's then that she meets an aspiring actor who looks exactly like her favorite actor- so cute and very short, so you won't spend ages trying to finish. it is very fluffy, cute, and funny, but has an underlying tone of sadness because the main female lead has cancer and will eventually die. also her best friend is a monk??? the ending is bittersweet but very fitting
want more 19- a short webdrama you can find on youtube starring jung ha joon, sin gi hwan,  jeon yoo rim, nam yoon soo, and lee jungha- a story of 5 friends in high school. A mutual crush, a one-sided love, and a rough patch for sweethearts, all taking place right around the end their senior year- OH GOD i can't breathe this drama is so cute. it had me squealing every single episode, and it's very lighthearted with hardly any angst
splash splash love- a two episode drama starring kim seulgi (queen of the ring) and highlight's doojoon (radio romance)- right before her ksat, danbi is transported to the past during a freak rain shower and is mistaken for a eunich (which, in korean, is the same word for high school senior) . due to her knowledge of future math, the king enlists her to teach him mathematics and they fall in love- a lowkey parody/remake of the kdrama love in the moonlight but if you added time travel into the mix and took out nearly all the angst. SO cute and funny, and has a happy but open type ending
something about 1 percent (2016)- korean drama starring jeon so min and ha seokjin (drinking solo)- lee jae in is an arrogant company heir, whose wealthy grandfather who decides to grant all his wealth to a kindly elementary school teacher. to only way for anyone else to get the money is for someone to marry her, but they devise a contract that changes it to date for 10 months. although they hate each other at first, they eventually fall in love- this drama is super cute and the kisses are AMAZING. there are crazy exes and all that but the couple's dynamic is super cute and they quickly warm up to each other
triple fling (s1)- a short choose-your-own-ending  korean webdrama on youtube starring jung bomin, son sangyeon (failing in love), themanblk's jeongyou, and themanblk's eom sewoong- lee sehee accidentally becomes friends with the three most popular boys in school and ends up in a love square with them- alright im whipped for stuff like this so naturally i loved it. i also really liked how viewers could choose their own ending as for which boy she chose. there is a second season that i haven't seen yet that focuses on another girl in ANOTHER love square (containing one of the guys from sehee's love square) in which it shows which boy she actually did choose (and it was my favorite so . yay!)
weightlifting fairy kim bok joo- a korean drama starring lee sungkyung (cheese in the trap) and nam joohyuk (who are you: school 2015)- a drama about a female weightlifter who falls in love. persuing the relationship would jeopardize her weightlifting, and focusing on weightlifting would jeopardize her relationship with her crush.  she and her group of friends deal with one-sided crushes, athletic pressure, and self-love.- i watched this drama in full in only two days, and loved it. seriously, it's funny, cute, sad, and just a generally AWESOME drama. plus it takes a lot of cliches and makes fun of them or turns them on their head
when you love yourself (s1)- a short webdrama you can find on youtube starring jung mingyu (sweet revenge 2) and saet byeol . - about a girl who is heavier than her classmates who struggles with self-love and self-acceptance, and along the way finds love- god. i can't even explain how much i loved this drama. the message is wonderful and there's no moment where she glows up and loses weight and then gets the guy's attention or anything: he simply loves her as who she is, no matter what weight she is, and is supportive. there's also an episode that focuses on the queen bee girl who also struggles with weight and self-love and it's just beautiful
after school: lucky or not (s1)- short drama starring 5urprise: kang tae oh (my first first love), seo kang joon (are you human too), gong myung (drinking solo), lee taehwan (w: two worlds), and yoo il, as well as kim so eun (our gab soon)- when so eun gets an invite to the choose-your-mission club, she meets 5 chaotic guys that she becomes friends with, but there's something they aren't telling her.- yes, there is a lil romance and a love triangle HOHO. ok but seriously this drama is the most crackheadery i've ever seen like. genuinely i was just wheezing so hard every episode because of the dumb sh*t the guys were doing and so eun's reaction. this drama seems dumb and funny at first, but there are emotional moments as well as some angst relating to the love triangle and the origin of the club. please do watch this show !!! (don't recommend season 2, though)
accidentally in love - a chinese drama starring amy sun (the eternal love), fiction guo, and ma li- chen qingqing, who is raised by her grandfather) is arranged to be married, but wants to find love on her own terms. on the day of the wedding, she runs away to the university her parents attended to find out more about their death. to hide from her grandfather, she changes her appearance drastically and enters university. her new deskmate turns out to be singer si tu feng, whom she has already run into and has gotten off on the wrong foot with- so this drama was longer than the ones i usually watch but it was worth it. it was cute and they didn't drag out the couple not getting together for ages like some dramas tend to do. the romance was super cute and the female lead's undeterred determination to march to her own drummer was amusing. the only thing i didn't like is that they didnt give the side couple enough screentime bc they were super cute too
my woofy poofy love / my dog-like dating- a short korean webdrama you can find on youtube starring chae ji an and kim do hoon (your imagination becomes reality)- a girl who has recently been cruelly dumped by her boyfriend brings a stray dog back to her home and wakes up to find that instead of a dog, there is a man! she happens to be looking for a roommate, and so this man (who can turn into a dog) becomes her new housemate- literally adorable. female lead is stunning and the relationship is so cute and fluffy and innocent, but the kiss is steamy as hell.
unrequited love (2019)- a chinese drama starring zhu yan man zi and zhao shun ran- a story of a girl who has secretly loved the same boy for 10 years, but he doesn't know she exists, until one day when they meet in college. so begins their love story, but things become more complicated because of other people- ok so like . damn i love this couple. this drama is really cute but has its fair share of angst, so don't expect an easy ride the whole way through. very cute though !!_ MORE DRAMA RECS _
a love so beautiful- a chinese drama starring shen yue (meteor garden) and hu yi tuan- chen xiaoxi has liked her neighbor jiangchen onesidedly for years, and continues to like him despite his seeming disinterest. but her determination and bubbly personality, as well as a romantic threat starts to cause him to fall for her- aight so . i feel like this drama was dragged out a little bit longer than necessary and then the ending was slightly rushed but!! it WAS a great and super cute drama
ok to be sensitive (s1)- a webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim da ye and kim youngdae (extraordinary you) and others im too lazy to put- focuses on feminist issues like sexism and sexual harassment in a college setting, which each episode focusing on one particular incident and the characters dealing with it- listen so like . this show had me emotional at some points bc of how amazing the message was. it dealt with sexual harassment, sexism, how females are expected to act, stalking, pressure to have sex... etc and basically every episode was like . you can stand up for yourself. you don’t have to “take it” just bc you’re a female, etc. also there was really cute romance uwu
ok to be sensitive (s2)- season 2 of otbs, also can be found on youtube, starring yoo hye in and lee shin young, as well as others but again im too lazy to list them all- same thing as season 1, but a different cast of main characters, and set in an office workplace. (original cast makes a cameo at the end)- the issues in season 2 were definitely a bit darker because it was set in a work place, where the main characters were worried about getting fired if they stood up for themselves, but the way things were handled was really admirable imo. also the male lead in this one is ABSOLUTELY adorable
go back diary- a 4 episode webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim ye ji and lee jong won (jaemin’s webdrama how to hate you)- about a boy who sees a girl at a karaoke bar (?) and instantly develops a crush on her. she then transfers to his school, and it tells the story of their love story after 10 years.- i’ll just say it right now. the whole drama was adorable except for the ending, which fucking sucked. literally was horrible. boycott episode 4 pls i was SO UPSET. otherwise, great webdrama
before we get married- taiwanese drama starring puff guo (just you; we got married w/ suju’s heechul) and jasper liu- tells the story of two people who already have partners and are planning to marry them, only to meet each other and fall in love- bro this show had so much angst i couldn’t even breathe lmfao. but the romantic scenes between the two leads were S T E A M Y let me TELL you.
love after school (s1)- korean webdrama that can be found on youtube starring park so eun and yoo jungwoo (like)- about a couple who fell in love in high school and their story, told from 5 years later when they meet again- i love love love this bitch. LOVE. season 2 ... we won’t speak of her lol. but season 1 is super cute and the ???? kiss at the end(ish)??? DEAD. literally anything with yoo jungwoo will destroy me but omg. it was fantastic
lucky romance- a korean drama starring hwang jung eum (she was pretty) and ryu joon yeol (reply 1988) - about a woman who believes wholeheartedly in superstitions meeting a man who believes only in science and mathematics, and their very chaotic love story- this show was so funny tbh. the main couple’s dynamic was HILARIOUS and even though they were literally complete opposites they worked so well together. warning: towards the end there’s that whole ‘i have to be noble and let you go bc its for the best’ bullshit but!!! there is a happy ending
maybe, maybe not- a webdrama starring kim kangmin (like) and gong yoorim- a girl who can read minds and is an outside bc she knows what everyone is really thinking meets a guy that she can’t read the mind of- so fluffy. so cute. oh god. pls watch it’s so soft and cute
my first first love- a korean drama starring jisoo (strong woman dbs), dia’s chaeyeon (drinking solo), and b1a4′s jinyoung (love in the moonlight)- about a group of friends who all, due to various circumstances, move into their friend tae oh’s house, and find love along the way.- idk why netflix did that dumbass thing where they did mffl 1 and mffl 2 but they’re the same show, just eps 1-8 then 8-16. anyways !! very cute show!! jisoo is fine as hell. taeoh and the rich girl are cute together. i found the ending abrupt and unsatisfying, but overall a good show
thumping spike (s1)- a korean drama starring hwang seung eon (part-time idol) and song jae rim (our gab soon) - about a volleyball team and their coach who are aiming for success, and a female professional volleyball player who becomes their athletic mentor- i know it doesnt sound super romantic but trust me. there is lots of romance, and even a love triangle hehe
u-prince: the single lawyer- a thai drama apart of the u-prince series starring august vachiravit paisarnkulwong and apple lapisara intarasu- firstclass is a straight a student who is strict about punctuality and properness, while minute is a spoiled rich girl who loses all her luxuries when her family files for bankruptcy. she begins “going out” with her gay best friend, aka firstclass’ brother, for money and ends up living in their house, but she and firstclass hate each other- listen all the u prince dramas are cringy and low quality but does it look like a give a shit . NO BC I KEEP WATCHING THEM . they’re cute ok . anyways this was my favorite one so this is the one im recommending yeehaw
unexpected heroes- a short korean drama sponsored by the CDC organ transplant management center, starring btob’s minhyuk, ioi’s sohye, and choi jonghoon- about three high school students who discover that, after their respective organ transplants, they have supernatural powers- though there’s not much focus on romance in this drama, it’s still funny and cute. plus minhyuk is in it and what more can you ask for ?? lol. anyways the trio uses their powers to help solve crimes n stuff it’s gr8 and ive been waiting for a season 2 for 98429834 years
what to do with you- a korean webdrama - that is actually literally an ad for a facemask - starring lee hayoung and kim youngdae (extraordinary you)- saerom and geun are friends, but it feels like they’re something more. will they ever take the next step?- yeah this webdrama is super cute and that’s really all lol. also the bitchy girl in love after school is the best friend in this one oho
your imagination becomes reality- a webdrama that can be found on youtube starring oh se young, kim dohoon (my woofy poofy love), and jin ho eun- soram has a crush on a mysterious upperclassman, and wishes to see him again: she does, soon after. each time she makes a wish, it seems to magically come true. - yeah so like . it’s not a supernatural thing or anything, it’s just a cute college romance that’s basically every girl with a crush’s dream lol~!

❀ Chapter 17: No Way ❀
That wasn't— That— That's not for me, right?
I mean, if it was, he meant as a friend, right? It could be for his mom or something.
Yes. Right.
You nodded in agreement, clearly just trying to convince yourself. You suddenly shook your head before glancing at Sehun's sleeping form.
"Aish." You mumbled, finally getting out of the room and silently closing the door. You got your bag and looked at the clock near the door.
"Oh goodness. It's past 10 already."
You quickly opened the front door and went out to go home.
The journey back home was quiet and fast. There were a few cars on the streets but you can only count the people you passed by on your way. You sighed in exhaustion and relief as you finally saw the familiar gates of your dorm.
You were expecting Kai to open the gates and welcome you home but he wasn't there.
With your lower lip jutted out, you climbed up the gates and jumped down as you reached on the middle step. You took out your key for the front door and opened it. You smiled as you close the door and got ready to run to your room—
"It's quarter to 11 now. Where were you?"
You stopped on your tracks and slowly turned to the awfully familiar voice.
Kai was calmly sitting on the couch with his legs apart and arms crossed like a boss.
You gulped as you faced him.
Why am I even nervous? It's not like it's his business, right?
With that in mind, you stood up straight and confidently looked back at him but ending up cowering at his intense stare.
"W-Why are you glaring at me?" You asked, finally finding your voice somewhere. Kai didn't even blink at your question.
"Why are you trying you change the topic? How about you give me a reasonable answer to my question earlier?"
You looked away, biting your lip in frustration.
"I-I was just at a friend's apartment..." You mumbled quietly, even barely to be heard, but Kai's hearing was sensitive.
"Sehun's?"
Your eyes widened, totally giving you away by your reaction. Kai scoffed.
How-How did he know that? Did he stalk me?!
"What in hell did you do there?" Even though he looks like he's mad, he asked you with his calm voice.
"H-He was sick. I figured he has no one to take care of him—"
"Are you really his friend or a nanny? Why does he need someone to take care of him? Isn't he a 23 year old boy now?" Kai argued, cutting your explanation off. You were getting annoyed by Kai's childish reasons.
"We're only friends, Kai. If you weren't informed, friends take care of each other whatever the circumstances are. Sehun might be a grown up man now but sometimes a person can rely on someone when they can't help themselves. He's just living by himself—"
"That's the point! Sehun's living by himself, that's why you shouldn't have gone there alone. You should've asked me to come with you or anyone!"
"You're the only one who thinks like that, Kai. Don't you trust your own best friend? I haven't known him as long as you have but I know Sehun won't do anything bad. Sehun's my friend too." You said, inwardly calming your raging self. You saw Kai stand up and walk towards you.
He looked deep into your eyes like he's trying to find something in them.
"Sehun's a friend to you..." He trailed off, not taking his eyes off you.
"But do you think you he only sees you as a friend?"
You don't know why but what Kai said hit you so much that it hurts.
Kai sighed at your expression.
You were looking down, deep in thought as you doubt Sehun's perspective of you.
That's impossible, right?
"Okay. Never mind that. Just go to sleep now. I know you're tired, babe. I'm sorry." Kai said before kissing your forehead for a while, claiming your hand with his and leading you upstairs to your room.
Why would Kai say that?
Sehun doesn't like me that way, right?
There's no way Sehun would see me as anything other than a sister or a friend.
Right?

"EH?!"
You groaned as Tiffany whined.
"Seriously?! Nothing happened last night?! He only scolded you and that's all?!" Tiffany exclaimed incredulously. You looked at her.
"What did you expect, unnie?"
"I thought he would say..."
"Why did you even go to another man's house? You're mine now, right? I don't really like sharing my property, especially you."
"What..." You glared at her. Tiffany just shrugged with a frown.
"Hey, I'm just a girl with my own creative mind. I can imagine him saying that. He's hot anyway." Tiffany casually said as she flipped the café's sign to 'open'.
"That was not appropriate, unnie."
"Oh sorry. It's just he still doesn't have a girlfriend and he's hot and he's single because he still doesn't have a girlfriend."
"You're obviously emphasizing that he's single." You sighed, touching the screen in front of you as you entered your ID number. You're the cashier for the day.
"Really? Didn't notice."
"Hey, guys." Joohyuk entered, his hair still wet from shower. You just nodded and focused on your work. He frowned.
"Yo, Hyuk." Tiffany greeted, standing beside you. "Why're you late again?"
"Nam Joohyuk late again." Jongdae suddenly appeared out of nowhere with a folder on his hand. Joohyuk grinned sheepishly as he greeted the manager.
"Sorry. I was just finishing up the requirements for my documents." Joohyuk explained as he bowed at Jongdae.
"Oh. You're going to Singapore to study, right?" Jongdae asked, nodding at him.
"Yes, sir. I'll be passing my requirements this afternoon that's why I checked everything this morning. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I hope everything goes well for you." Jongdae smiled before going back to his office.
Yup. You read it right.
Your best friend for years, Nam Joohyuk, will be flying to Singapore next month to study more. Joohyuk has actually planned this already when you two were still in college.
"Too bad, Lin can't come with me." Joohyuk said with a sad smile. You looked at him with a grin.
"I know you can't live without me but you can do it. I know you can. It's your dream, right?"
You actually planned it with him in college, that you two will go abroad to study more about your chosen courses. Joohyuk with Engineering while you with Medicine. You really wanted to come with him before but now, a lot has changed.
You're still gonna attend your father's wedding next month too.
And there are a lot of people you're afraid to leave behind.
Not that Joohyuk wouldn't be sad to leave you and Tiffany or his mom. You understand that it's his dream not only for himself but for his family too.
But you...
Are you even dreaming?
You took Medicine in college but you stopped reaching out.
You stopped walking forward and chose to stay where you stopped at.
Joohyuk is passionate about achieving his dreams. He'll do whatever it takes to reach it even though it took him a lot of time to earn money for that. He's dreaming higher every time but continuously taking steps towards his goal.
You're totally different from him.
"What about your mom though? Who will be with her?" Tiffany asked, seeing how spaced out you are.
"Uhm." Joohyuk glanced at your blank face. "She'll be staying at her sister's house. I know they'll take care of her. I already explained to her everything she needs to know."
"When are you gonna come back her though? Maybe you'll be an engineer already!" Tiffany exclaimed as she pouted.
"I'll visit when I have free time. Noona, that'll be too far from the present!" Joohyuk whined as he went to the locker room. Tiffany just snickered at him and turned to you.
"You okay?"
You slowly nodded.
"Yeah. I am."
"You want to be a doctor, right?"
You smiled at her.
"Yeah, I did." You replied, looking back at the screen in front of you. Tiffany just observed you.
"You still do." She stated with certainty. You blinked. "I can see it. You just don't belong being behind the counters, dear. You deserve more. And you can do so much more than this."
You closed your eyes as if you're in pain, trying to keep the tears in.
"I already stopped, unnie. There's no point continuing it."
"Bullshit." Tiffany mumbled, rolling her eyes.
Sometimes she's adorable, sometimes she's a bitch.
"It's never too late, Lin! You're smart, reliable, responsible, caring and all of the synonyms you can get from those words! You can't just give up just because you stopped. I'm sure your dad will approve when you tell him what you want." Tiffany exclaimed as if it was her problem. You frowned.
"I don't think so."
"Just think about it. You won't lose anything."
"Unnie. I don't want to leave anyone. Not you, not Taeyong, not even my dad, not aunt Sunny nor even the tenants in our dorm, not this café." You said, bowing at the first customer for this morning.
You smiled at the customer as she started telling her order.
"Leaving doesn't mean you'll never come back. It's for your future anyway, I'm sure everyone will want the best for you. Think about yourself this time, Lin. It's not all about others every time."
You ignored what Tiffany said but her words kept ringing in your head.
"Think about yourself this time, Lin."
You shook your head and focused on working.
No. I'm fine here. I'm not leaving.

"Are you excited for the dinner this Friday, noona?"
You rolled your eyes at your brother's excited tone.
"No, I'm not."
"But your little bro is! You'll finally meet Aunt Ji Hyo~"
"Whatever. How's school?" You averted the topic as you eat your potato chips while taking out an old notebook.
"School was fun, noona. We're discussing Trigonometry this quarter in Math! Isn't that cool?!"
"I think you're the only one who finds Trigonometry cool, dongsaeng." You said as you opened the notebook in your hand. Reading the first page, the words were written in a creative way, occupying the whole page with designs on every corner.
What I Want To Do List:
"Ey. That's a bummer, noona. Anyway, how's it going there?"
"Joohyuk's gonna go to Singapore to study next month and he'll leave a week before the wedding. Everything aside from that is the same here." You said as you went to the next page, it has drawings on it. An airplane with 3 people peaking at the windows and a huge globe below it.
1) Travel the world with Joohyuk and Tiffany unnie. <3
"Really? That's good for him then! Too bad he can't go to father's wedding."
"Yeah. Too bad." You whispered as you read the next page. Hearts were everywhere, a drawing of a girl and a boy that was obviously copied from the internet was on the page.
2) Have a boyfriend! Kyahh.
"Are you okay, noona?"
And then after that two pages, only words were there on the next ones.
3) Understand father's decisions.
"Are you still there, noona?
4) Stop crying.
"I'm getting worried now, noona! Answer me please."
5) Just stop it. You won't get anywhere.
Before you knew it, the tears from your eyes started falling on the page.
And then you see something at the end of the page.
It doesn't have a number, indicating it's not on the list but instead...
I'll go abroad with Joohyuk and be successful once I finish studying Medicine! You'll see, appa! I can do it!
A promise to yourself.
"I'm fine, Tae."
You haven't even started dreaming that long but you stopped trying already.

There are only two episodes left and twenty-five contestants. By the end of the night, your finalists will be revealed. As always, the highlights of the previous episode play on the screen to remind you of everything that happened last week. It goes from a few seconds of the best performers and the eliminations to the revelation of the coaches and what’s about to come. Divided into five groups, the remaining contestants are to represent the companies they’re assigned under. Being the semi-finals, performances are expected to keep their high quality, and, hopefully, surpass it.
The camera pans over the new empty set and, slowly, it is filled with the 1500 viewers who managed to catch a spot in the audience to watch the performances before anyone else. A crew outside gets some comments out of the people waiting in line. “KT has my two favorite contestants!” Says a girl besides her friend. “I’m cheering for LEE NAKYUNG and SIA KIM! They’re both charming ladies so I understand why Katie Lee would want them under her label.” Her friend quickly shakes her head. “Of course I’m here for the team that’ll actually win, Royal. They have LEE SUWOONG and DO KYUNGSOO. This is the team to be frightened.” The scene changes for a mom and a smaller boy, the latter being the one interviewed. “I’m here to cheer for MIYAWAKI SAKURA! I really hope she’ll win!”
Back inside the set, a man makes his way onto the center of the big stage. He is Hong Jinwoo, the MC assigned to present this episode. “Hello, all, and thank you for being here today!” The crowd cheers in response. “My name is Hong Jinwoo and it’s a pleasure to be here as well. Before we start our performances, why don’t we hear from our judges first?” The view changes to the five chairs and the five people sitting on them. It’s your favorite CEOs! “Thank you all for coming,” Seo Jisub starts it off today. “Today we take one last step before the end. Our contestants have prepared their performances according to the companies they were assigned. Each group will have one of their members eliminated, and those who make it through will officially become a finalist. So welcome to the sixth episode and semi-finale of the Mnet Global Auditions!”
They show the cheering crowd once again as they build their expectations for what’s about to come. The MC takes back his role and begins to introduce the acts. “Now, let’s receive our very first act of the day. Here comes the Sphere contestants!” He motions with his arm towards where the contestants appear, five in total. They’re CHWE HANSOL, KANG DANIEL, MIYAWAKI SAKURA, NAM JOOHYUK, and PARK WOOJIN. “Action!” And then all the team members clap their hands in near unison before saying their team name. “We are Hollywood!”
Before they can take their places, the scene changes to the outside of the Sphere building and, then, their designated practice room. DANIEL and WOOJIN arrive together first. “It’ll be nice to have a practice room we don’t have to share with another team,” the first one comments before the rest of their teammates show up. HANSOL approaches him. “Hey, can we talk?” And the two take a seat by themselves to have a chat. “I wanted to talk to you because I didn’t want there to be an odd air between us and I wanted to be upfront so that we could get any weird tension out of the way. I have to admit that based off of last week working with your team in the same room that I did start to feel rather annoyed and put off by both you and Kenta because of all the fooling around.” A very short compilation of the two either whining or doing something weird last week appears with a black-and-white filter before return to the present. “I gotta admit going into that it’s really concerning me. I’m just questioning how committed you are to actually working towards the same goal.”
DANIEL appears sitting for his interview. “Vernon saw me at my worst last week, so he had some doubts going in. Dancing was really difficult.” The interviewer moves on the next question. “There’s been quite some criticism of your guitar, including from contestant Jo Yuri. Any thoughts on what she said?” The boy relaxes a bit before moving on. “I don’t know if Yuri-ssi has actually watched my performances. If she did, she would know I’ve done just about everything someone can do on this show.” As he lists them, DANIEL counts them on his fingers. “I played a self-composed song, I played guitar, I sang. I rapped. I played bass- Just in last week’s performance alone, I sang, rapped, and danced. I don’t know what more she’d like from me, but she can let me know if she’d like. I’m always looking to improve,” and so he smiles.
The view returns to the inside of their practice room and the three assigned coaches making their way inside. Two of them are members of the boy group CONVEX, Jinki, and Jinwook, while the third is the winner of last season, Go Hojung. “They’re so nice! And supportive!” SAKURA says in her own interview. “I’m glad to have them as coaches. They’re wonderful people.” It’s Jinwook who appears next to leave a comment. “It’s been three years since I’ve been here as a contestant myself, and I never expected I’d be invited back to coach. People may be concerned that our team is weak in dancing, but it’s definitely workable. You might not believe it, but Jinki’s the strict one between us. He’s going to make them work hard!”
They all sit together trying to throw ideas of what they should choose to perform. “I don’t know idols very well,” DANIEL admits, “but I listened to all of Sphere’s artists last night and they all seem generally bright but really versatile.” No one seems to go against him for that. “We could always do a remix of a Convex song? Or a mashup with one?” He suggests, but WOOJIN doesn’t seem to like that idea very much. “Maybe you should focus on learning the dance instead of spending time remixing songs.” The other looks down. “I think giving everyone plenty of time to learn the dance is important,” Jinwook chimes in. “Dancing for non-dancers is hard, so it would be better not to do any complicated remixes unless they can come together quickly.”
While the others work on the song, PARK WOOJIN steps aside to learn the choreography by himself. “I ended up being the only dancer in the group, so I had to help the others out with choreography and stuff. Since all my previous teammates had been dancers,” he explains. “I don’t think I’m good enough to be taking that role, but someone had to.” The boy appears dancing until late at night, keeping up with practice because of the role he had been automatically applied. He huffs and puffs when he ends the routine, and before he can start again the scene changes back to the stage where the five members stand ready to perform.
The song starts taking over the set. It’s only the soft instrumental at first before KANG DANIEL says the first few lines. The performance may start soft, but the dancing is demanding on the details. To start the chorus comes SAKURA, the only female in the group, followed by WOOJIN and then the girl again, who returns to show she can also rap. When it’s time for the second chorus, HANSOL is the one to start it until JOOHYUK joins along. It’s HANSOL also returns with a rap. WOOJIN leads the finale as the center of the dance break and the eventual end.
“I think…” HANSOL comments, “it was like I met a song where I was finally in my element. I don’t have anything to complain about. I really enjoyed myself on stage this week.”
“Hello! We’re Polaris!” The next group says in unison, a reference to the company’s theme, and receives cheers from the audience. They’re the ones from Nova, the second to stand on stage tonight. The group is composed by CHOI YEWON, KIM SEUNGHUN, SEO CHANGBIN, TAKADA KENTA, and WANG JACKSON. One by one, they introduce themselves individually before they move to their starting positions as the lights fade away.
All the members are inside Nova’s practice room when they appear on screen again and they zoom in to capture their reactions when the coaches join them. While they don’t look surprised, the strong aura of Nova’s future idols and trainee have intimidates the five. Before the group starts discussing song options, coach Lee Sunmi advises them to pick a song with a strong stage presence that would fit the company’s image. The coaches share some notes with the contestants, telling them the areas they want them to improve, but it’s KENTA who receives harsher feedback from SUNMI, who says she didn’t even expect him to make it past the last round, but he should work hard. “I’ll do my best!” He nods and answers. Following the advice received from the trio of coaches, the group spends most of the day going over songs and getting to know one another, settling on Run by ATS as their final choice.
It’s when they start working on the line distributions and choosing centers that things get more heated up. SEUNGHUN is the first to raise his hand to demonstrate an interest in singing the high note, followed by JACKSON, another well-known vocalist from this season. The group decides to have both of them singing the part to pick the best voice and the older boy is the one who ends up with the position. On the other hand, when it comes to the one who’s starting the performance, things are not solved so easily. YEWON seems clearly upset when KENTA says he’d like to do it and doesn’t hold back her opinions, bluntly pointing out the spot is not a good fit for the dancer. “No, I can do it. You have the first lines, so I think it works better if you come out from behind, like RM does, in the original.” KENTA protests, trying to prove his point. “Look this is going to sound harsh, but I just don’t think you can pull off the role. I’ve seen your performances, and I just would feel better if you took a different role.” She says. The boy insists and promises to work hard and prove he deserves to be there. “Please, don’t underestimate me.” He asks and she waves a hand dismissively at the male. “Fine, fine, whatever.”
It seems to be just the start of a tough week as the first run-through doesn’t go well. While they sing in front of the coaches, Sunmi and Son Seungwan exchange horrified glances. “Alright, listen!” Seungwan says as she gets their attention. “I noticed how you’re all just vocalizing as a vocal warm-up before you start practicing. That’s great, but before you even think of making a sound, you also have to prepare the muscles that you’ll be using to make those sounds.” Her words are followed by real instructions and tips on how to do that. “Ah right, it will hurt for some of you… YEWON! CHANGBIN! Come here please.” She picks the rappers for the demonstration. What seemed to be simple throat massages, cause them unbearable pain. CHANGBIN grab at her arm and his face scrunches up. “Help me!” He responds weakly. The scene cuts to minutes later, Seungwan edited with an army uniform and the words ‘Sergeant Son’ appear on the screen as she points out their lack of stability. “Run in laps around the training room as you sing.” It’s clear she’s not joking. Even the most athletic members struggle with the mission and the same happens when they show clips of the group planking, with KENTA losing balance and being scolded by the coaches, then running laps one more time. “A-again?’ SEUNGHUN asks with a pitiful look. “Go, go! You can do it!” Lee Sungyeol encourages them cheerfully. They are shown afterward, everyone dripping in sweat and looking exhausted. “Sunmi! Wendy! What have you done to the children?” Sungyeol asks, looking at them.
Dance practices are also challenging, CHANGBIN visibly struggling more than others. A montage of different days of practice appears, collecting mistakes and nicely executed moves by the dancers and forming a huge mosaic, Sunmi’s voice in the background giving them some pointers. “What if we slow down a bit? Like… Go over it at 0.75x speed instead of normal until the sequence is perfectly memorized and we make no mistakes?” SEUNGHUN suggests when they are the only ones in the room, and it seems to work for them.  Facing different struggles, the camera shows KENTA looking down when CHANGBIN approaches him. “Is everything okay, hyung? You’ve been – a little quiet. Is it because of what they said?” He asks. “Ah, it’s alright. It’s helpful advice! It’s been a little shocking, but that’s how you get cattle to move faster, right? Zap.” The other boy responds and is encouraged by the rapper. “You’ve been doing well, though. Don’t beat yourself up. I know you’ll show your best onstage, regardless of what others might say.” Despite the pressure and the stress, the group has a good time together. During breaks, YEWON and CHANGBIN are seen rapping to popular songs and JACKSON approaches SEUNGHUN for a friendly battle. “Hey, hey, we should have a proper high note battle, you know, the really high one.” He tugs into the younger's sleeve. Going from ‘do’ to ‘sol’ notes, their voices and crazy facial expressions make both burst into laughter. Sungyeol is responsible for bringing snacks to keep everyone healthy and energetic.
The closer they get to the live stage, more improvements are made, but the group could use some fine-tuning. Seungwan visits them again to check their vocals and points out some problems. “Was I too much?” SEUNGHUN asks under his breath to JACKSON, looking confused with the feedback received. Looking for some guidance, the vocalist approaches the coach later. “You’re probably so used to singing solo, so you’re probably not sure how you’ll fit in with a team. And all the more, this is a survival competition, so I understand the pressure of needing to stand out all the time, but this is also a team performance, so balance is very important. You don’t have to go so hard at every line you sing. There are some parts where you just have to take it easy. You have to know which parts call for being the entree and when to be the side dish.” She explains and tells him she believes in him. The coach makes sure to encourage the whole team before she leaves. “Team Nova, I’m counting on you.”
The camera returns to the live stage and the group is now ready to start the performance. All lights are off, but once the instrumentals kick in, a spotlight follows KENTA, who slowly approaches the group. The blue light that suddenly covers the stage reveals the other members right when YEWON starts off the hit song. CHANGBIN is the next and his rap portion is delivered powerfully. The beat picks up and welcomes a fast-paced and intense choreography. The main and lead vocalists, JACKSON and SEUNGHUN, take over the center for the chorus and put more strength into their voices to match the intensity of the part, contrasting with the soft vocals from the pre-chorus. After the team’s efforts, they manage to execute the synchronized choreography well.  With good facial expressions and confidence, they show a great stage. KENTA puts emotion in his voice and his movements are expressive. The dreamy atmosphere sets the mood for the moment JACKSON hits the high note perfectly with SEUNGHUN doing the low register. They reach outwards and when they open their hands, petals fall onto the ground. Their performance comes to an end and they get into the ending pose that formed a star with CHANGBIN in the middle.
“Who did you feel was the weakest link on your team?” They ask her, and YEWON doesn’t have a problem replying. “KENTA was the weakest in our group. I just don’t see what he contributes that we don’t already have. He’s not the best singer, his rapping is non-existent. I personally think he’s gotten fortune to have made it this far in this competition.”
Five new people appear, all moving along to the center. They’re the ones under TRC and they’re CHOI MINHO, HWANG YEJI, KANG HYUNGGU, LEE CHAERYEONG, and SHIN RYUJIN. The latter is the one who starts their introduction. “We’re your,” and then they all shout together. “Antidote!”
Appearing in their practice room, the scene that is shown is of their first meeting. Their coaches include two members from K.ARMA, Doyeon, and Sana, as well as the trainee Jung Jinsoul. The first ones to get there are the coaches and they wait for their contestants to arrive. “We had a lot of fun, huh?” Doyeon asks the trainee and the public is reminded that all three of them had actually made their journey together on the previous season, although each one taking a different path. When the contestants arrive, Doyeon seems surprised. “Oh my-” she chuckles while looking at HYUNGGU. “We trained together when I was in high school.” The boy appears in his interview and comments about their relationship. “I actually know Doyeon from a long time ago. We actually trained together at a smaller company when we were both in high school! It’s funny because I went from being her sunbae to us switching up the roles.”
When they sit down to throw song suggestions, CHAERYEONG doesn’t look too content with what they had settled on. She points out how it was too similar to her last few performances and it’d probably look bad on her for repeating. But her teammates work on hard on convincing her that everything will turn out alright and that enough would be different for it not to be the same. CHAERYEONG goes to Jinsoul for help, later on, asking her things about how she could stand out and do her best. Jinsoul tells her that she just needs to be herself and that that would be enough. “Oh and wait CHAERYEONG do this.” Jinsoul smiles and winks and then watches the other girl copy her. “Perfect! I knew it would suit you!”
YEJI and HYUNGGU are assigned the roles of choreography while the other three, MINHO, CHAERYEONG, and RYUJIN, took care of writing their own rap lyrics. RYUJIN is the one who suggests they increment some sort of dance battle into the choreography, and they all agree with it. It’s that same girl who appears working hard to get things done. It’s YEJI the one who approaches her. “RYUJIN ah, you should rest.” She tells her and makes her sit down. “We can do this, ok?” And the other girl does as told, taking some time to relax before they could get back to practicing.
HYUNGGU is the one who brings energy drinks to help encourage everyone to keep up with the high energy until the end of the week. “Getting in a room full of dancers can be tough sometimes,” MINHO says in his interview. “I wondered what we would do because styles can be similar but don’t flow together. HYUNGGU and YEJI made it work in a way that I didn’t feel that struggle or difference at all. I loved their work and we all got to give our input and it turned into a charismatic stage I think is worthy of TRC.”
The screen wobbles, and then suddenly they’re back on the stage, getting ready to perform. RYUJIN is the one who starts the song, and, in between the lyrics, there’s their team name in it. HYUNGGU and YEJI are the ones who take on the chorus along with a couple of words by the other rappers, MINHO and CHAERYEONG. Following it, MINHO takes on the first rap verse following, using the original lyrics he came up with during the week, all while they all danced. After another chorus, CHAERYEONG and RYUJIN show off their own lyrics as well. It’s when they go past the third chorus and a bridge that YEJI gets to do a high note and then they fall into a dance break. The boys divide from the girls, and they act as if they are in a dance break until it leads to them all getting back together and the end of the song.
“MINHO did really well too. I… quite like him, actually.” DO KYUNGSOO says. “He may not look like it but he’s sort of soft inside and treated me well last week.”
The next group makes their way to the stage. They’re JO YURI, SIA KIM, LEE NAKYUNG, WONG YUKHEI, and ZHOU JIEQIONG representing KT. All together, they each make a small heart-bow before saying their introduction. “Shot through the heart! We’re team Foh!cus!” After each of their individual introductions, the members move to their starting positions but are cut by the editing team to show what they were up to during practice.
LEE NAKYUNG can be seen making her way inside the room and, before long, she lets out an excited “Oh my god!” in English as she jumps around the practice room. “It felt crazy, really.” The girl says in her interview. “That’s my dream company and Eclipse is one of my favorite groups just like ChiChi was to me before. It felt crazy that I’d get to spend time with both Minji and Haseul and Luda, too!” Scenes of the coaches entering the room appear on the screen and of NAKYUNG staring at them. “They were all amazing. It really felt like a dream come true!” In contrast to the first girl, another girl appears in her own interview. “Thank god the CEOs all introduced them,” YURI chuckles. “I… didn’t know who everyone was, honestly. I searched Naver to figure out who my coaches were.” She giggles, covering her mouth. “Whoopsie.”
The three female coaches introduce themselves, and Minji goes ahead first. “I’m Kim Minji, Leader of Eclipse, a recently debuted group under KT with a day and night concept.” Below her face, the text appears one by one as if she’s saying exactly what’s expected of the leader. Haseul goes next. “Hello, I’m Jo Haseul, main vocalist of Eclipse. I know how exciting and stressful this time can be. A lot of people don’t understand how hard it is to put yourself out there. I’m… not the most outgoing person, as I’m sure Ariel would be able to confirm, so I know how difficult it can be.”
The team starts working together to figure out which song they’d like to use. They settle on two by ChiChi and SIA works on putting them together alongside JIEQIONG. With the final mix, JIEQIONG gains a new partner in NAKYUNG to choreograph something together for their performance. “Everyone in the group is easy to work with, but I got to try something new this week with mixing our dance break music with SIA so that was really fun,” JIEQIONG says in her interview. “But it’s hard.” Her lips form into a tiny pout. “NAKYUNG and I also got to choreograph the dance break which I loved! She’s really cute and our ideas went nicely together.”
A team name is a necessity in the rules this time around and, for this team, it rises from YUKHEI’s initiative. “Foh!cs, with an exclamation mark after the Foh.” The others pause a moment to think, but then quickly come to an agreement on his suggestion. “The girls from Eclipse, and Luda, were really lovely.” The boy comments. “They gave us lots of pointers and tips and helped as much as they could, maybe even more than they had to.” This leads to a different scene of SIA and Ariel sat side by side in the practice room. “Can I ask what is your main goal? Do you want to be an idol? A singer? To do musicals? To act maybe?” The coach says to the other and it catches her a bit off guard. “Because to be honest with you, I think you could do all of that, I mean, if you so choose and you don’t have to choose only one. But to be an idol, you will have to dance. You’ll be unstoppable if you improve your dancing if you show you can keep up with the dancers in this group.”
The camera slowly zooms into the contestant’s face but doesn’t play what her answer was. Instead, it changes to her interview. “That day was probably one of the biggest learning experiences on the show. Sometimes, we just need someone to tell us we’re doing a good job and it’s enough to make us want to work harder.” With this, the scene changes once again to a different location. They’re back on the stage and with positions ready. It’s time to show what they got.
The other members kneel around YURI who raises from the center while the first few notes start to play, and then the girl winks to the camera before she starts to sing. YUKHEI is the one who starts the chorus and impresses a few of the audience members when he does the famous leg splitting movement, followed by SIA who brings an end to their brief song. That’s only because the song of a record scratching plays loudly, followed by a new beat. The group performs the dance break that NAKYUNG and JIEQIONG had worked on, which leads to the intro of their second song. YUKHEI is the one who starts them off, followed by NAKYUNG. Following the new choreography, the group moves smoothly to the new setting of their performance. By the end, YURI and SIA are the ones in charge of covering the chorus with ad-libs, leading the song to its end.
“I think,” YUKHEI says, “thanks to us all working so well together we did well. It all comes down to teamwork because if we hadn’t worked so well together and trusted each other, we might not have performed exactly like how we practiced it.” PARK WOOJIN appears after. “It’s a bit of an image change for some of them, but even so, they pulled it off really well. I was surprised, honestly, but I should’ve expected their talent to show.”
The final group makes their way to the stage, the five final people to perform. They are DO KYUNGSOO, JEON HEEJIN, KIM HYOJIN, LEE SUWOONG, and SOHN YOUNGJAE. “We are Youth Over Flowers!” They greet before posing like flowers. It’s enough to show before they show a new practice room.
It starts with KYUNGSOO standing quietly and SUWOONG appearing on view, sneaking up behind him and uses his index fingers to pull the corners of the other’s mouth up into a smile. He pushes them in front of a camera and makes sure to introduce them. “Hello, I’m the grumpy kitty, Do Kyungsoo!” Says SUWOONG beehind said boy. “And I’m Suwoong, the cute and fun kitty!” He says with a brighter voice, throwing up a peace sign. KYUNGSOO, still just as quietly, throws up a peace sign as well.
Their coaches are two members of LUXE, Cheri and Ella, and a contestant from the previous season, Jeon Wonwoo. “I know you might be stricken by us,” Ella flips her hair over her shoulder, “and we can take pictures later after we have a song and a dance.” The three of them introduce themselves before Wonwoo appears in his interview. “Team Royal are great! They’re all quite different, so they’ll be able to shine individually but also come together nicely as a team. I think we’ll see new sides of them, too!”
They’re all hard at practice when SUWOONG decides to say something. “Can I try this part, too?” The one he points out had been originally assigned to KYUNGSOO who looks up at his partner. To settle this, Cheri suggests they fight for it to see who’d win the desired part. KYUNGSOO stands up from when he was sitting and moves to the center of the room. “I would like to keep my part,” he says firmly. “I’ve proven that I can embody the dark, mysterious aura from my past performances and I won’t disappoint the audience with my voice.” SUWOONG seems to disagree. “Ah, but it’s a more enticing gaze. The part is short but powerful. It requires someone who has mystery over the subtleties in their expressions, so they can captivate the audience in just a second.” The original owner of the line does not step down. “Please allow me to demonstrate.” With that, he’s the first one to go, performing his part of only a few seconds. SUWOONG goes next, trying it for his own. After a short reunion, Ella is the one who announces the winner, and the line remains with KYUNGSOO.
From then on, it appears their practice time only gets more complicated. No one seems to be quite getting their moves right, and it gets to the point of SUWOONG’s fan escaping from his hand and hitting HEEJIN on the back of the head. The girl looks back or, well, stares at the boy behind her before shaking her head. “It’s fine, let’s just keep going.” The girl says. “We had a lot of ups and downs during the week, so at first I wasn’t really sure how well we’d be able to practice,” HEEJIN comments during her interview. “Everything, generally speaking, was alright.” She squints at the camera before pointing a finger at it. “SUWOONG, you know what you did. You’re lucky all I did was a glare.” Her glare, however, turns into a grin once she’s done.
The tension does continue. “Are you taking this seriously, Kyungie?” SUWOONG asks KYUNGSOO in the middle of another practice. The other doesn’t hold back anymore. “I’ve been here since 5am every weekend morning and am always one of the last to leave. Just because I am not yet as good as you doesn’t mean I am not trying!” The boy throws his fan onto the ground and the room turns silent. “You tell me if I am taking this seriously or not. Let’s have a break, please.” He says before walking out of the room. It’s another time when HYOJIN suggests they all sit down and discuss their feelings. YOUNGJAE decides to speak up. “We had to make the choreography simpler because of you and Taeyang hyung didn’t get to shine properly as a dancer.” A quick flashback shows both HYOJIN and YOUNGJAE standing together on stage alongside TAEYANG, the latter being eliminated. “Is that gonna happen again?” HYOJIN replies to him. “Truthfully, it’s been hard keeping it to myself all these days. I didn’t know what to say to make it better, or how to properly apologize and decrease the tension. I had a hard time looking any of you in the eyes, because I spent all of my time when I wasn’t practicing wondering, should Taeyang hyung be here in my place instead? Do I really deserve this?” He licks his lips and tried to look up at YOUNGJAE. “I won’t be a burden this time, I promise.”
After their meeting is over, YOUNGJAE approaches HYOJIN separately. “I’m sorry for everything. It’s just… I really want this. I don’t wanna go home.” With moods getting settled, the image on the screen changes to that of the stage and the five contestants wearing their long, traditional robes.
They all carry serious expressions as the music starts to play and a thin layer of fog covers the stage. Along with the beat, they all open their fans in unison. The lights are dim, but they soon turn brighter when HYOJIN starts to sing. SUWOONG goes next, followed by HEEJIN, and then SUWOONG again. They had worked on modifying the choreography, while not by much, just enough that it wouldn’t be too hard for the vocalists to achieve. YOUNGJAE is in charge of the rap, standing out between the vocalists. KYUNGSOO gets to perform the lines he fought for before, and, with the tease of a smile, the stage becomes darker as they all dance together with their robes flowing. HYOJIN brings an end to the song, as he had started it.
“KYUNGSOO oppa,” HWANG YEJI appears to comment. “He’s started dancing did you see? I was impressed with him as well for finally stepping out of his comfort zone.”
With the end of all five performances, the audience leaves the set and the contestants take over the stage once again. They’re all alined with their own teammates, separated by company. It is now the time that’ll settle it. What’ll come next are the final eliminations and all that’ll be left is proving your worth to get the title of a winner.
To start things off, Tiger JK does the honors of starting the final announcements. “We watched all five of your performances with much attention. As said before, no matter which placing you end up with, all groups will lose one of their members. But these placings are still extremely important to you and I hope you realize that.” The man nods. “Next week will be the grand finale and teams will remain as they are after eliminations. This means you should reflect on your positions this week and figure out what you must better or keep for the next and final round.”
The CEO gives the contestants one more look before looking down. “We’ll start today with the group who finished in fifth place for this week.” He takes a long pause to build up tension before proceeding. “The one in last place today is… Nova Entertainment’s group, Polaris.” His eyes are now on them. “For a semi-finals performance, yours didn’t quite reach our expectations. While we understand that Nova is famous for dancing in particular, not all of you are dancers and you probably focused your song search too much on that. And that’s most of what you did, too. We were expecting some more than what you put out for us today. One of you will be going home today, and that person is… KIM SEUNGHUN. Congratulations on your journey up to here.”
With the first elimination out of the way, comes the next announcement. “The group who finished in fourth place today is… Sphere Entertainment’s group, Hollywood. We believed yours took a step away from what is normally thought of when people think of Sphere. It also felt like there was also some trouble accommodating to each of the members’ skills. Just as the group before, you didn’t give us much more than what already came with the song. One of you will be going home today, and that person is… CHWE HANSOL. We wish you good fortune on what you’ll try next.”
To move on, Tiger JK switched out for Baek Jiyoung, who continues with the next announcement. “The group who finished in third place today is… TRC Entertainment’s group, Antidote. Your performance did manage to show each of the members but it still felt a bit lacking. It wasn’t quite as hard-hitting as we would have expected. It was good that you put your own lyrics and choreography but the song continued on the same wavelength until the very end and there weren’t a lot of moments that people could point out after it was done. One of you will be going home today, and that person is… SHIN RYUJIN. We hope you continue working towards your dream.
The woman changes her stare between the two remaining groups, a slight smile on her lips. “Now we only have two groups left, and only one of you will be the winner of the day. I hope you’re feeling as nervous as you would if this were the finals. There is only a week between today and the real results, so you shouldn’t be taking this lightly.” She chuckles. “I’ll be announcing the first place of the semi-finals now. And that group is… Royal Entertainment’s group, Youth Over Flowers! You put on a wonderful performance. The setting was settled from the start, and we noticed you even simplified movements that’d be too hard for some of the members. It’s a thing to worry about with so many vocalists in the group, but you all did a great job. Sadly one of you must leave us today, as well. That person is… KIM HYOJIN. You’re the only one who’ll get to leave as a winner, so we hope you hold onto that and do even better in the future.”
“As for the second place, we have KT Entertainment’s group, Foh!cus. You managed to show different sides of KT, although they weren’t complete opposites, which would have run away from their concept. The transition between the two didn’t work as smoothly as we would have liked, but that’s about as much as we have to point out. You all did a great job as well and we can’t wait to see what you’ll get to show next time. However, you’ll also have to lose a member today, and that person is… ZHOU JIEQIONG. We also wish you the best of luck in the future.”
Five contestants less make them twenty, and the last number there’ll be. “All of you remaining here are officially our finalists of the fifth season of the Mnet Global Auditions. Next week, only four of you will be able to become the winners, and you’ll have to do that as a group. We expect to see the best that you can show.”

And now, let’s see what’s in store for our seventh episode and grand finale!
With the last round of eliminations comes the grand finale! The groups will remain the same, except for the member they lost. All people involved should show at least two of their performance skills, one of them being dancing. This time around, contestants will have to prepare two performances. On the first, just like last week, they’ll have to portray the image of the company they were assigned under, and for the second, that of another company. For these, the judges sorted things randomly. All groups are told to come up with a name of their own. A list of the groups can be found below:
SPHERE ENTERTAINMENT — Coaches: Jinki, Jinwook, Go Hojung #5017 - KANG DANIEL #5033 - MIYAWAKI SAKURA #5035 - NAM JOOHYUK #5038 - PARK WOOJIN SECOND PERFORMANCE CONCEPT: TRC ENTERTAINMENT

The public will know the groups will have a second performance, but not which second concept they were given.
By the end of the next episode, one group will be considered the winner of this season.
Just like the previous episode, the contestants will be recorded during their preparation time. The five companies prepared one of their practice rooms with cameras and will allow their group to practice inside with free use of the high-tech equipment available in it. On the first day of training on Friday, the 2nd, the coaches will visit their practice room to help the contestants decide on songs and give them some tips on not only their past experiences in the MGAs but also as performers. Additional meetings may be arranged if needed and if it doesn’t conflict with anyone’s schedules. The only coaches that won’t be attending are the Eclipse members who will be busy with preparations to go to Japan at this time.
All contestants are supposed to make their own way to the recording studio prepared specially for this episode. This time contestants will have to perform a stage in front of a live audience of 3000 people and also air for the world to watch on the 10th of August. This means that contestants will have more time to practice and there will be no pre-recording of the performances, so make sure to do well. To help with this, the episode will be hosted by the MC Hong Jinwoo, the same from the semi-finals. They’ll go to the same set from the previous episode. The bigger stage will allow for bigger props if needed, and these should be checked with the staff beforehand for them to prepare it. This has backup dancers included. The groups will get to prepare themselves backstage and, this time around will have to wait there while the other groups perform. A room with a TV is available for those who’d like to watch the groups performing.
Sitting between the stage and the public with their much more comfortable chairs are the CEOs of each big company. They’ll make sure only the most captivating contestants will receive the big prize to make this the best season yet and continue to represent their companies.
Tune in next Saturday, the 10th, for our final episode!
MGA Season 5 episode seven preview: The finalists have been decided and the final mission has been given. It’s all or nothing now. Will the contestants manage to give the public what they want? Will anyone show any hidden skills? Tune-up next week to find out!
[ All of the performances were aired in their entirety. Cuts from the show itself were uploaded to Mnets’s Official Youtube Channel. ]
If you made it this far, either if you were eliminated on this episode or not, you may add +3 POINTS IN A PERFORMANCE SKILL to your points tally. Make sure to link back to this post for verification.
Contestants have until midnight EST at the end of Friday, the 9th, to post their 200+ words solos about the final challenge in front of the CEOs. Please tag all related posts with #rkmga5 and #rkmga5finale. They’ll have less than four minutes to perform each of their chosen performance and prove their worth to make them the big winners (as long as it doesn’t break any laws). Good luck! Song choices should be submitted to the rkevent inbox. Two groups performing the same song will not be allowed and this will be chosen on a first come first serve basis. Any group chats made for plotting should include both Mod Bianca (luvseungjoon on twitter) and Mod Gab (jindeukii on twitter) for monitoring.
Since the final episode will be filmed live, there is no way for the contestants to record their interviews after the performances. Instead, they will be taken by surprise on Thursday, the 8th, to a separate practice room where they’ll record the very last interview of the season. The contestants will be asked a variety of questions and some may be included in the list found below! Feel free to come up with your own questions if you think they can be fitting.
This is the very last interview. How does that make you feel?
What did you think of the results last week?
How was it like working with your group?
How was it like working with the coaches?
How do you think you’ll do?
Are there any performances you’re looking forward to?
What was your own favorite performance this season?
What was your favorite performance of the season apart from your own?
Who do you think will win?
Once they’re done, they’ll be taken back to their usual practice room.
You may also write an extra 200+ words solo about your muse’s interview, as explained above, to also be posted until midnight EST at the end of Friday, the 2nd. For doing so, you may earn +2 CHARISMA OR CREATIVITY POINTS and these can be added to your points tally as soon as it is posted. Please tag all related posts with #rkmga5 and #rkmga5finale. Please link this post as verification.
COACHES! If you write one 200+ words solo about your muse’s time spent interacting with the contestants you may earn +3 CHARISMA OR CREATIVITY POINTS. You’ll also have until midnight EST at the end of Friday, the 9th, to post your solos. These can be added to your points tally as soon as it is posted. Please tag all related posts with #rkmga5 and #rkmga5finale. Please link this post as verification.
For an additional +2 CHARISMA OR CREATIVITY POINTS, you may also write an extra 200+ words solo about your muse’s interview. These would take place after or in between their time spent together on the 2nd. Coaches will be taken to a separate practice room where a mini-interview-set has been prepared for recording. Questions will mostly be about their thoughts on the contestants and how the performance preparations are going, as well as their expectations for final results. Please post this until midnight EST at the end of Friday, the 2nd, to collect points. These can be added to your points tally as soon as it is posted. Please tag all related posts with #rkmga5 and #rkmga5finale. Please link this post as verification.
If the coaches write their solos or not will not impact the results of the groups. More information about muses joining the live audience will come in a separate post.
