“Listen, I know you’re freaked out, but it’s really  not that bad.” Kya said to Alexis, trying to calm her a bit. She’d been wanting her ears pierced for so long now, and now here they were, finally on their way to get them done and suddenly Alexis claimed to have no interest at all in getting them down. Kya could tell she was just nervous, but she also knew that Alexis was incredibly similar to her, and if she pointed out that she was scared, Alexis would deny being afraid, and get her ears pierced just to prove it. “I’m not freaked out!” The small girl shot back, causing a grin to form on Nakya’s face. “I bet you are, though. I bet you won’t get something pierced.” She added, sticking her tongue out at her mother, which just caused an eye roll. 

“I’ll get something pierced.” Kya responded, as she opened the door to the tattoo and piercing parlor. “I’ve been wanting my septum pierced anyways.” She smirked, raising an eyebrow at her daughter, who was silent now, not willing to admit that she was comforted by the idea of her mother getting a piercing at the same time as her. They had made an appointment beforehand, and hoped adding in another piercing wouldn’t be a problem. Kya was digging in her purse for her chapstick when the piercer approached them, and she sighed, “Sorry, I hope we’re not late,” She said, eyes still in her bag, “Alexis wants to know if I can get my septum done first so she can see what it will be like,” She laughed as she looked up. Her laugh cut off instantly as she saw the face standing in front of her. “Gigi.” She said softly, “Hi.”
