“Treasure these times” - MOM

When I was growing up my mom always told me to treasure my adolescent years. The fucked up part about this was that she was right, I should have savored those times more, but this is where shit gets fucked up. If I wasn’t ever told to “savor” those years I would think nothing of it and by being told to treasure them as I move through life I become stuck wishing I was back in those days, not looking towards the future. It has the similarity of being told not to do something and instantly wanting to disrespect what was told to you especially if it was delivered from an adult while you are at a young age. This has an effect on the youth of today since they are all desensitized from their surroundings by Instagram, Youtube, Porn, Facebook, Rappers, Singers, Etc. By having a person looking at an iPad and being told not to look at said iPad you feel like you must look at the iPad so it would make sense that by being told to treasure your younger years you just look towards the future. When you become an Adult you see how you should have listened to your mom, but this is dead wrong. A person should always be looking towards the future and trying to create something there, the future hasn’t come yet but that past is gone so there is no point in staying back there or wishing you could do something all over again. If you are wishing you had done something different then you haven’t lived your own life and you have been listening to other people. It’s time you make your own decision on life and live it your way, so don’t look back, keep your head up and focus on fucking that celebrity or making a million dollars, you can change your life but it takes some action so get the fuck up and do something great.
