coming back for seconds (yapping abt ur response to my prev ask abt scara vomit realness LMAO) desperation is just soooo deeply ingrained into scara/even wanderer that esp as a yan bro has to meet the freak minimum threshold tbh... like even as a soft yan i see bro doing the most deranged shit (ie the vomit), just not deranged in harming darling ofc :3

i'd like to think nahida sees something in wanderer when he begs... something that warms her heart a little (archons know wanderer has never been the one to openly show any flicker of genuine emotion) but that also scares her a little. or a lot. the look in his eyes is just too familiar for her to put her finger on it before it clicks - the same frenzied need scaramouche had for divinity, the same untamed rage of the former 6th harbinger, and now? the same look is there again; in the pits of his pupils, a kind of desperation that threatens to engulf him whole. the kind of desperation molten and searing that feels like it might burn you just by looking.

so okay maybe he can have darling FOR NOW while nahida looks away and tries to figure out a better solution that doesn't destroy all of wanderer's progress or your will to live. maybe that solution is just giving you a cushier life (#darlingrights) because nahida doesn't really see his affections for you going away anytime soon...

and yessss, him being so desperate has to be one of my favorite flavors of yan scara,,, imagine him suffering for 500 years and all of that not comparing at all to the visceral WANT he has for darling.

on the topic of nahida being a reluctant yandere supporter, i rewatched the 2nd golden apple archipelago and how nahida communicated with the outside world in a way that's telepathy (?) while physically her body was still in the sanctuary of surasthana. i think that's how she'd remedy your longing for the outside world; in a way, you're exploring through mind-hopping, or seeing through the eyes of aranaras but at the same time... it just isn't enough. but this is all nahida can do for you :( any more of that and wanderer will intervene.

(there's a silly image in my head when nahida first discovers wanderer's unhealthy attachment to you. like i just imagine her going up to him with a tight smile on her face, visibly sweating bullets while tugging at his sleeves. when he pointedly looks down at her, nahida's smile cracks upon of her face. then, in an overly enthusiastic voice,

"i think,,,, we should get you into therapy! :]".

as expected, the answer was no.)

but in the end, nahida accepts reluctant defeat and just lets wanderer do whatever he wants. she's comforted by the fact that you're mortal. aging, unlike the puppet and the god born from irminsul's branch. you'll die in a few decades from now, free from the physical form of your body and most importantly, free from him.

well that's what she was hoping for until she just walked into him committing horrific research just to find a way to extend your lifespan. maybe is desperation reaches it's peak, he'll go approach that dastardly doctor for help. meanwhile nahida is about to crashout because my brother in christ,,, you are teetering on the edge of forbidden knowledge 😭😭😭😭
