1. What is their full name? What does it mean? Do they go by any nicknames/aliases?

Valena. apparently it either means valiant, or strong/healthy. No idea if that’s bullshit or not, I really just kinda made it up when I was trying to think of names that started with Val, but I didn’t quite want to name her after velanna from dragon age. i still cant really decide if ‘Ceres’ is her mother’s last name, or just something she made up. 

also apparently i forgot that valena is an actual name in dao used for an npc

valena usually goes by val. only one person (lucio?) has ever really called her lena. she likely has a few aliases she doesn’t remember.

2. Do they have a familiar? What is it?

valena has a massive cat (prob kinda like this sweet baby at least size wise) who still needs to be named and i haven’t decided if (he?)’s just a regular cat or a familiar. she loves faust tho and she may or may not have plans to steal mercedes and melchior. (who may or may not have also her dog(s) when she dated lucio but unfortunately he got the dogs in the divorce bc he had the space)

3. What type/s of magic do they specialize in?

illusion. she doesn’t specialize per se, but she has a natural affinity for anything involving heat or fire. valena is technically a bit of a medium? but it’s something she’s actively tried to suppress or ignore for as long as she can remember - she’d rather not deal with wayward ghosts or shadows, thanks.

4. Which of the major arcana best represents them?

the chariot, or strength.

valena’s an entp !  she originally started out as an estp (a few months ago) but entp definitely suits her better. (96% match for entp, 74% estp, and 73% for entj apparently)

8. What is their natural alignment (lawful/neutral/chaotic good/neutral/evil)?

chaotic neutral, apparently. listen i love her to death but she’s an impulsive little shit and she doesn’t particularly care about things unless it involves or affects her or one of the few people she cares about. there’s not a lot she wouldn’t be willing to do to help them. she’s absolutely willing to sabotage someone she doesn’t like valerius if it helps someone she cares about julian or clears their name.

9. Which Hogwarts house would they be in?

slytherin. she definitely could be a good ravenclaw, but when it comes down to it once she’s set on something she doesn’t give up. she’s resourceful and will do whatever it takes, and she’ll do anything for those she cares about.

also valena being in the same house (ravenclaw) as asra and julian is very good, but valena being in the same house as nadia is BETTER. 

10. Of the nine intelligences (logical-mathematical, existential, interpersonal, intrapersonal, kinesthetic, spatial, naturalist, musical, linguistic), which is their greatest strength? Their greatest weakness?

her greatest strength is definitely kinesthetic. she loves books and all, but she prefers to learn by doing and figuring out how things work, and she also loves dancing. greatest weakness is maybe intrapersonal? she tends to actively avoid self-reflecting and thinking about how she Feels about things she’s very much an in-the-moment kinda gal

3 strongest are probably kinesthetic, interpersonal/social, and linguist.

11. What did they think of Asra leaving? Of his gift?

she’s more annoyed by the fact that he’s always leaving without her  than she is by the fact he’s leaving, but she misses him a lot. she thinks his deck is creepy but she also finds the little traces of his magic comforting.

12. What do they think of Nadia’s request that they go to the palace?

she’s definitely skeptical, but intrigued? very interested in the mystery and also potential reward. she doesn’t immediately agree to help nadia, saying she hadn’t decided yet (and gets the emperor reversed reading) - she only agrees when it seems that she has no other choice. she also wants to help julian if she can (and she will).

13. What do they think of the various animals they encounter at the palace?

loves mercedes and melchior and they love her (as much as two beautiful probably definitely haunted dogs can love a person). thought the vampire eels were pretty, in a creepy way, until they tried to murder her.

14. What is their day-to-day outfit? What do they wear when the dress up (such as for the masquerade)?

First masquerade: cobalt blue dress. 

Second/current masquerade: dark red, long slit in the skirt to show off some leg, deep v cut for cleavage superiority. Its also definitely lowkey enchanted for support.

15. What is their favorite type of weather/environment?

valena loves rain, as well as foggy mornings, just before dawn.

16. Do they have any prized possessions?

valena has a locket - i’m still not sure what’s inside it, but hidden in there is a small, simple engraving of the letter L. she can’t remember how long she’s had it, but recently she’s taken to wearing the mirror of the magician (the emerald necklace) instead.

17. Do they collect anything?

valena doesn’t really collect anything so much as she has a bunch of weird cool little things asra brings back for her from his travels.

18. What sort of first impression do they make?

honestly it depends on the situation, but she generally makes an effort to be charming

19. How do they deal with conflict?

valena is a rowdy fight girl but she also loves conning people she doesn’t like when she can, so.

nadia’s lovers route was very good with the immediate “this isnt fucking over” followed by reading his fortune and then lying/manipulating him to get answers

20. What are their principal goals?

figuring out how she’s connected to everything, filling the void of her past.

5) Guilty pleasures

6) Their vices (physical or emotional)

Pocus is very closed off and even if someone is opening up to her about something deeply personal, the likelihood of her sharing her own experiences is very slim. It’s mainly because of her issues with trust and feeling like people will pity her more than she already feels like she is. Some people might view this as rude but she really does love talking to people. What’s funny is she actually longs to tell someone these things, and will sometimes try to intentionally bring up a subject related to what she went through almost as a way to challenge herself. But she never goes through with it. 

11) Bad or petty habits

She is overly shy and she doesn’t adapt well to change. She also has the tendency to give everyone the benefit of the doubt even if everyone else warns her against them. She is a big believer in second chances even when a person clearly doesn’t deserve it. That person needs to personally wrong her before she can really make a judgement which some might see as arrogant and self-entitled. She really just hates to admit that someone is beyond help since she can personally identify with feeling like she was beyond help.

My Arcana mc,Gonzalo from @thearcanagame Asra's apprentice with a lion's heart,he tends to be wary around his surroundings and would jumped at the slightest tremor but knows how to fight back when necessary. As much as he loves Asra,Gonzalo wishes to search for answers about his past and will escape as soon as the mystery behind Count Lucio's murder.
