[ad_1] Jannat Se Aagay is one of television’s more recent offerings, starring well-known names like Kubra Khan, Ramsha Khan and Mirza Gohar Rasheed. The serial attempts to tell the story behind the realities of show business in a time of morning shows. However, the project has been met with criticism by the morning show pioneer, Nadia Khan, herself. It’s director, Haseeb Hassan, however, hasn’t taken lightly to her words as he criticised the actor for not “[delivering an] intelligent analysis and constructive critique while adhering to ethical standards.” The popular host herself appeared on Kya Drama Hai with Mukarram Kaleem along with Rubina Ashraf and Marina Khan. On the talk show, the actors were asked to give their opinions on multiple serials, during which Khan expressed a particular distaste for Jannat Se Aagay. The actor said she was offended by what was being portrayed about a culture she was responsible for helping establish: “Ham ne bohat achay achay kaam kiye hain aur koi ous kaam ko gaali de aur itna negatively bura project kare toh dukh hota hai (We have done a lot of good work and if someone curses it and projects it in such a negative light then it hurts).” The host even asked Khan why she disliked the show so much given its fictitious nature, to which she responded, “It’s not fiction. Some of these things have happened, everybody knows. But a lot of good work has been done as well.” To this, Hasan lamented how celebrities hold the power to shape opinions but, “too often, they wield it carelessly.” The director wrote on his Instagram, “You educate children [with] the consequences of their behaviour through fiction. Similarly, you laud our national heroes; sometimes we portray corrupt police of government officers as characters. Andhera Ujala was a prime example but no one ever took it personally and said ‘keelein chubh rahi hain!” [ad_2]

Gohar World “For a big chunk of time, we weren’t entertaining or having people over and that was really difficult for me. I think that in times of adversity is when we most need to lean on each other, and so one of the biggest struggles during this pandemic was that we had to avoid each other. I spent the time daydreaming and looking forward to when we could get together with the people we love again. And actually, in part, ‘Gohar World’ is inspired by that, because we started coming up with the designs at a time when we weren’t able to use them together. It was kind of a fantasy.” - Laila Gohar, ‘Gohar World’. Amongst the many things the global pandemic deprived us of, dining together was certainly one of the most missed. For artist, culinary doyenne and passionate hostess Laila Gohar, not being able to entertain proved to be more challenging than for most people. Revered for her artistic and immersive dining experiences, New York-based Gohar has funnelled her longing to gather with others into creating a namesake brand of tableware. Designed in partnership with Laila’s sister Nadia Gohar, also an artist, the family-owned ‘Gohar World’ celebrates time, tradition, humour and craft with a beautifully conceived collection of table accessories and objects that together bring elements of drama and fantasy to the dining table. Love is certainly a grounding element of the brand. Designed in New York City and made by family-run ateliers around the world, each object is a tribute to craftsmanship and tradition. In fact, many of the fabric items, such as table coverings and napkins, are made at the Gohar family’s atelier in Egypt using fine Egyptian cotton and linen. https://www.instagram.com/p/CgTwLTCMREF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[ad_1] It was a week of delicious parties in rarefied settings. On Wednesday, Burberry took over Lucien, the East Village canteen frequented by art-world insiders, chain-smoking models and Chloë Sevigny. About 60 guests sipped martinis and ate steak frites at the 10-day pop-up that features Burberry’s check pattern on everything including the awning, stools and, of course, invited friends. The artist Laila Gohar and her sister, Nadia, celebrated their surrealist tableware line, Gohar World, at a tucked-away rooftop garden above Rockefeller Center. The sunset party on Tuesday drew from the sisters’ fashionable circle, including Emily Bode, Simone Rocha and Beverly Nguyen. And last Sunday, “Downton Abbey: A New Era” held its premiere at the stately Metropolitan Opera, followed by an after-party at Tavern on the Green, which was transformed to resemble a villa on the Côte d’Azur. The Gohar World party featured white doves, root-vegetable topiaries and a D.J. set by Mark Ronson.Plenty of champagne was spilled at the party for ‘Downton Abbey.’ ‘The dowager would not approve,’ one guest said. For its Lucien pop-up, Burberry not only replaced the awning, but also created special plates, napkins, coasters and matchbooks.
