The Vaganova IG page shared a video of a graduation performance, and it displays Kulikova, Koshkareva, Rissanen, and Kuprina. Do you happen to know what they are talking about? Also, Kuprina shows a little talisman of the Bolshoi and mentions her mother. So I guess her decision to go there was a huge dream. I just get scared for the young girls in that theater. The disgusting things that happen behind the curtains (not that it doesn't happen in any other theater in the world, but the BT has a "fame" fot it) make me a little concerned for them, specially her, who seems so sweet. I hope she stays safe and in good hands. Nadezhda Gracheva is going to be her coach, so that's amazing. She's a legend, so it means they are really investing in the VBA graduates this year at the Bolshoi.
Unfortunately, I don't speak Russian so I'm not sure. Yes, I would imagine that Kuprina must have wanted to go to the Bolshoi for a long time to turn down the Mariinsky, where she has already had a couple of large roles as a trainee.
I can't speak much to the hidden culture at the Bolshoi, I'm no expert on it. Of course, it is infamous for drama and scandals in the past. But with such a huge theatre, there will be kind and supportive people just as there are people who can be manipulative and difficult to work with. I'm very happy that Nadezhda Gracheva is her coach, I have heard she is wonderful to her dancers. So I'm sure she will look after Kuprina and steer her well.

Hey, did you see that Yulia Kasenkova wrote on Instagram that Nadezhda Gracheva will be Yaroslavna Kuprina’s coach at the Bolshoi? So that’s already confirmed 👍🏻
Oh, wow! That's news to me! Thanks for sharing. :-)

Bolshoi ballerinas & their port de bras
1. Maya Plisetskaya - The Dying Swan (1975) 2. Natalia Bessmertnova - Chopiniana (1980) 3. Alla Mikhalchenko - Swan Lake (1989) 4. Nadezhda Gracheva - La Bayadere (1991) 5. Maria Alexandrova - Raymonda (2011) 6. Svetlana Lunkina - Giselle (2011)
"I had forced the audience to switch its interest from abstract technique to soul and plasticity. When I danced the finale of the second act, people’s eyes were glued to the line of the swan’s arms, the angle of the neck; no one noticed that my bourrées were not so perfect." - Maya Plisetskaya

This year’s rundown for the Bolshoi world ballet day is just *sigh*. At least we will get to see some interesting interviews and finally classes that are not led by Akimov (he IS amazing though). I’ve always been interested in Vetrov since so many of his students are either principals or promising up-and-coming dancers. Gracheva - I love as a dancer and at least I want to watch her students - Obraztsova and I think Shipulina?? I have absolutely no interest in the choice of rehearsals except to see Ruslan (!!!!), the Nutcracker corps and MAYBE Egor. Interesting how they’re getting Lantratov and Turazashvili to host.
I’m so sad that Akimov isn’t leading the class, I absolutely adore his classes and even though I don’t speak Russian I still feel as though I learn things.  I agree that Vetrov is going to be exciting and I hope that we’ll see Shipulina in Gracheva’s class as well.
I’m actually very interested in seeing Denisova, I think she’s a beautiful dancer but there isn’t much footage of her!  Obviously we are all excited to see Ruslan, especially in Onegin!!  I think they chose Turazashvili to host with Lantratov because she speaks English really well so she should be able to translate and such.  I think this year is infinitely better than last year.

Kingdom of Shades. Nadezhda Gracheva as Nikiya and Andrei Uvarov as Solor. 3 Shades danced by Elena Andrienko, Ekaterina Shipulina, and Maria Allash in that order. The video says 2001, but none of them have those roles in that year on their bios...

Yulia Kasenkova confirmed on instagram that Yaroslavna Kuprina is going to the Bolshoi and will be coached by Nadezhda Alexandrovna Gracheva. Still waiting to hear about Maska and Sova but its possible that they all go to the Bolshoi huh?
Yep! All three are headed to the Bolshoi!
I also just posted about the Vaganova graduates going to the Mariinsky, excluding any possible international joiners.
I'll try to make a "masterlist" of sorts of where all of the graduates this year are going once I know more!

Aside from Asylmuratova and Vishneva, (and a few others) this is one of my favorite interpretations of Nikiya's monologue. Real emotion and artistry from Gracheva... I had to look at this to wash my eyesight after seeing a dreadfully boring Nikiya that was recently uploaded on YT.

Quote
At school, Galina Ulanova and Marina Semyonova were our idols.  We stood paralyzed when we happened to run into them in the theatre.  I watched ballerinas like Ekaterina Maximova, Ludmila Semenyaka, and Natalia Bessmertnova.  When we grew up, our idols were Nadezhda Gracheva and Galina Stepanenko.  We used to go and see their performances full of admiration for their talent.  Ballerinas and dancers were like gods to us and the Bolshoi Theatre was something like Mount Olympus.

Somebody asked me @ekaterinakrysanova which ballerinas I find to be Ruslan’s best stage partners. Here’s a short list of who I think of straight away when trying to generate a response in my head:
La Sylphide - ??? I don’t think this role suits Ruslan at all, therefore nobody
Raymonda - ummm... Maria Allash?
Swan Lake - Svetlana Zakharova (cause anyone would look flawless side by side with Sveta lol), Anna Nikulina
La Fille Du Pharaon - Svetlana Zakharova
R&J - Ekaterina Krysanova
Onegin - Ekaterina Krysanova
Le Corsaire - Svetlana Lunkina
The Bright Stream (classical dancer) - Maria Alexandrova
Giselle - Nadezhda Gracheva
The Golden Age - Nadezhda Gracheva
The Sleeping Beauty - Svetlana Zakharova
The Nutcracker - Nina Kaptsova
A Hero of Our Time - nobody, cause the ballet sucks massive balls and doesn’t suit anyone at all (imo)
