I want to shout this BAD.
Indian. Serials. Or Soap-Dramas. Are. Not. That. Bad.
I mean- I saw people arguing how being a Nagin makes no sense and I was like- so being turned into a shapeshifter vampire with bloody fangs makes sense? Hypocrisy smh.
I can name quite a few Indian shows (the Tv ones, Web series are already appreciated) that actually are amazing! They just fall short when creators choose quantity over quality.
Of course, classics like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Office Office, Byomkesh Bakshi, Malgudi days, Mahabharata and Ramayana get the praise they truly deserve! But here some relatively modern shows that get looked over due to same old Saas-Bahu genre.
Yeh unn dino ki baat hai (90s romantic drama), Har yug mein aayega ek arjun (my favourite criminal thriller), Adaalat (law-crime thriller), Beyhadh (the first season is one the best psychic-romance thrills ever), Ek Hasina thi (romantic thriller + also contains Vatshal Sheth from Tarzan the wonder car and is- chef's kiss).
Also can I say Naagin 1, no matter how much everyone bashes it today, was actually a dhasu show?
Honestly, I can add quite a few to the mix myself. Saraswatichandra? Best Romance I’ve seen till date. Ishqbaaz? Laughing out loud since episode 2. Qubool hai? The one time I like Karan Singh Grover. Laut Aao Trisha. Saubhagyavati Bhava. Bepanah. Starplus Mahabharat. Madhubala. On and on and on. Heck, even Anupama wouldn’t be so bad if it stuck to the plot and not for duniya bhar ka drama. But that’s exactly where the problem arises. All these serials start very VERY promising. They deliver well at the beginning aswell. The starting is what gets you hooked, you hope for something entertaining and they seem rather fit for that role. Sure, the overdramatism is there, but this is India, we can digest that much dhum tananananananana tere na tere na tin.
Things start going south when shows start pulling TRP. All the money hungry producers think that “hmmmm, this looks nice, I can milk it. What can possibly go wrong?” Hint: possibly everything can go wrong.
Lets look at Ishqbaaz for example. Three brother, three different perceptions of love, three distinct love stories. A shining new concept with four rather attractive leads to have the young adult population flocking, isn’t it?
It starts really great aswell. The first few episodes stick to the point very well, excessive delay like 3-4 days for like one person to turn around and shit aren’t there. It’s funny, it’s cute, it shows character arcs brilliantly. You’d expect the main leads to all fall in love, learn something and the show to end , right?
Wrong. It starts going off hinges really fast as soon as Starplus realises that the money making cow should stay. The main lead is suddenly super toxic. Shit like ghar ke bahu bete suddenly staging Agatha Christie level conspiracies and having the same intellect as Batman on shrooms becomes the norm. Drama like chhat se girkar yadaasht chale jaana, sautan ka plan samjhna, aur end m pta chlna ki bhencho sab kiya dhara heroine ki saas ka tha. Yep.
I stopped watching here but the thing is there was a look alike adla badli arc after this, so you can see how bad it went.
Next I watched, Saraswatichandra. I kid you not, it had the BEST setting one could ask for. A emotionally stinted guy coming all the way from Dubai to reject this girl, staying in her house. When everyone thinks they are getting married but they resent each other and secretly start falling in love, no? What more can one ask for? They admit their love and do actually get married while none in the families is wiser.
BUT, they had to add faltu ka natak, so add faltugiri they did. Bina baat ka action, stereotypical portrayal, heroine ki kahi aur shaadi, waha se uska talak, heroine ki sister falling in love with hero, whole family conspiring, kidnapping, yada yada yada, y’all get the jist.
The thing is, this wouldn’t be as bad if the characters still acted wisely in the bizzare situations. Or if the situations made sense. Who THE FUCK breaks their engagement a day before the wedding because they got disowned by their dad? Why did he immediately forget that he’s still entitled to his mother’s stuff? Akal kaha hai teri madarchod?
Producers butcher good storylines for paisa. People with no motivation are trying to kill bahu because they are bad. Police is not doing its job, not because its corrupt but because saas bahu ko khud detective khelna hai. Family drama mein randomly kahi se bhi chudail aa jaati hai even if the show not fantasy based. Vamp mast 16 khoon kar deti hai but still is legally allowed in the house. (Konsa law hai ye bc?) Why is everyone so out of character suddenly? WHY IS EVERYONE STUPID?
So, here’s the issue with indian serials: they don’t stick to the story, nor do they develope the story according to the characters, instead they alter the characters, premise and genre of the soap according to whatever story they think will fetch more views. This makes the whole thing bizzare.
Of course, some norms are always relaxed in dramas and a lot more in fantasy/supernatural dramas, but there’s a limit to how much there should be based on characters/ premise of what you offered in the first place.
Bhabhiji and Happu work as well as they do despite overlooking all the points I mentioned because they refresh their storyline every week and aren’t a continous saga, plus they never took themselves seriously as and always promised to be whacky. This is not true for Ganga, Saath nibhana saathiya, Sasural Simar ka, Kumkum bhagya etc., Prachi suffering by the hands of her stepsister cum co-wife even though she can easily turn the tables by making a police report for bigamy becomes frustrating to witness at one point.
Didi ye kya bakwaas likha hai, seedhey bolo na: Indian serials are indeed good and full of potential, but the producers and writers refuse to see that potential and make us flock to other dramas by diminishing our energies.

Exploring the Spiritual Abode With Heaven Riders: Adi Kailash Tour Package
Introduction
Nestled in the pristine landscapes of the Himalayas, Adi Kailash stands as one of the revered abodes of Lord Shiva, earning the epithet of Chhota Kailash and securing its place as the second Dham of Panch Kailash. This sacred site, dwelling place of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati, and their divine children Ganpati Ji and Kartikeya Ji, holds profound significance in Hinduism. Legends echo the tales of Ravana’s pilgrimage from the south to seek blessings, while the Pandavas, accompanied by Sage Vyasa, meditated here for an extended period.
The Enchanting Location
Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are situated in the enchanting Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, with Dharchula serving as the nearest town. The highest point on the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra is the sacred Parvati Sarovar, elevating to 5,245 meters above sea level. This spiritual journey offers darshan of three additional holy peaks: Brahma Parvat, Annapurna Parvat, and Naag-Naagin Parvat, with the captivating Parvati Sarovar or Gauri Kund at the foot of Adi Kailash.
Spiritual Significance
Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra is believed to cleanse the soul, washing away sins and restoring the karmic cycle. The cosmic energy prevalent in this sacred realm promises a transformative experience, leaving pilgrims feeling rejuvenated and spiritually uplifted.
Tumblr media
Adi Kailash vs. Om Parvat
It’s crucial to distinguish between Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Adi Kailash, standing at an impressive 5,945 meters above sea level, is a replica of Mount Kailash and serves as a peaceful center of spirituality for Shiva devotees. On the other hand, Om Parvat, with its elevation of 5,590 meters, boasts the natural inscription of the sacred Om symbol, a rare and awe-inspiring sight during the Adi Kailash Yatra.
Best Time to Embark on the Yatra
For the most pleasant weather and favorable temperatures, May & June and September & October are recommended for the Adi Kailash Yatra. These periods provide optimal conditions for a comfortable and enriching pilgrimage experience. It’s advised to avoid the monsoon season due to potential challenges posed by weather conditions.
How to Reach Adi Kailash
By Air:
The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport in Uttarakhand, though it has limited flights. Alternatively, the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi offers better connectivity.
By Train:
Kathgodam/Haldwani is the nearest railway station, providing access to the region.
By Road:
Overnight buses are available to Kathgodam or Haldwani, and a direct bus from Delhi is also an option. Travelers landing at IGI Airport, New Delhi, can board an overnight train or Volvo bus to reach Haldwani or Kathgodam Railway Station, where pick-up services are available.

Naagin 3 August 12th 2018
Doesn’t Anu have anything to do in her life? Is she done with her studies? I get that she’s ameer baap ki beti and shizz, but what had she been up to before she started this Bela Hataao andolan? Maybe she should go back to doing that.
Tumblr media
Mahir is so cute when he tries to explain the maternity dress to Bela. Issh.
Tumblr media
So the first one is actually Bela’s imagination. But we all kinda sorta knew it didn’t we?
Bela is the clumsiest naagin I’ve ever seen on telly. Yaar yeh toh meri tarah har jagah girti padti rehti hai😂
Tumblr media
Not that I’m complaining cuz BeHir scenes ftw 😂😂
Mahir seems to have crazy-ass reflexes. Wahaan Bela chillayi nahi yahaan yeh haazir to catch her. More reasons to believe he’s the mighty Naag or sumfink
Tumblr media
Apnaane ki koi wajah nahi hai na, thik hai! Par thukraane ki toh koi wajah hogi? Kam se kam woh bata do? Ishh Mahir :(
Mahir paid all the loans Bela’s father cum the naag guruji had?? wow. Ugh why so nice Mahir.
Tumblr media
Oh lookie they have a bed in the bathroom as well! Wah bhai kya baat!😂
Okay HOW COME ALL telly heroes know how to fix a twisted ankle using that reverse twist thingy? I NEED MY HUBBSS TO KNOW THIS OTHERWISE SHAADI CANCEL.
Main jaanta hoon ke tum Yuvi ko abhi tak apne dil se nahi nikaal payi...pehla pyaar itni asaani se nahi bhulaya jaata, right? It’s okay.
NO ITS NOT OKAY NOT FRIGGIN OKAY WHY IS MAHIR BEING SO UNDERSTANDING AND SO NICE ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING GODDAMNIT DONT BE SO NICE MY DIL IS CRYING ALRIGHT CANTTAKEITBYEE
Tumblr media
Bela’s inner turmoil is so effing evident on her face. Gah.
Tumblr media
How CAN HE continue to joke and try to make the situation light aisi halat mein bhi?? MAHIR TU HAI KYA UGHH STAAP.
FINALLY the poison starts affecting Mahir. I KNOW HE’S GONNA LIVE EVENTUALLY cuz secret identity BUT I STILL FEEL BAD OKAY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ugh the scenes after Bela regains her sense and realizes Mahir’s life is in danger are done so brilliantly by Surbhi. I am not technically a Surbhi fan but I HAVE to give it to her for portraying the desperation and all the other emotions so so perfectly well! Nobody (not even the previous naagin) could have done such an amazing job!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wait. I’m thinking. Is the dead body Yuvi’s? Or is it Bela’s pretend-father? There’s a possibility right? If the guruji died somehow, then that lady trying to console Bela makes sense right? RIGHT?? Because Mahir dying and then coming back to life--wouldn’t that be way too miraculous for all to handle???
Oh well. It’s a supernatural show. Everyone can handle everything.
I never thought I’d wait so eagerly for weekends just to watch a television show. Dang.

While I’m still rofling at Naagin memes, I noticed these bunch of comments on twitter, where ppl are shaking their heads, mourning SC doing silly stuff for the show.
I mean, really, have you guys not seen IB? That show really reached a new high (or low) in wtfuckery, so it’s not like SC has never done stupid things before.
Also, ppl saying that Naagin isn’t deserving of SC’s talent, toh plssss, it’s the other way round, SC isn’t deserving of Naagin. The characters don’t require much of acting, but they do require a certain screen presence, which SC~hugely~lacks. Saying this as someone who has watched the first three seasons of the show.
SC isn’t a bad actor, but she (and Mohit) are terribly miscast for this show. I think she and Jasmine would tie for the worst casting of naagins.
The best would obviously be Mouni, Adaa, Surbhi J. and Anita, who really managed to look the part (as weird as it sounds).

My dil says the dead body is someone’s from the Mittal household. Or not? 🤔
This Vish is leaving no stone unturned to distract Ajitabh from the case using her charm 😂
Tumblr media
Are they seriously playing aayega aane wala as the BG for Vish-ACP scenes now? Lord 😂
Aren’t they supposed to have a big big fotuu of the deceased at the front or sumfink? WHY NO PHOTO PEOPLE.
ACP-Vish are growing on me😂
Tumblr media
LO FOTUUU AAGAYAAA 😂
Bela learning the truth and running to find Mahir is done so well by Surbhi. Ishh.
Tumblr media
Surbhi is amazing. That longing face akjwdakjsdhdasd.
Tumblr media
These scenes pretty much killed me T__T
Tumblr media
Totally makes up for last day’s Mahir-less epi.
THIS HUG. M DED KBYE.
Tumblr media
WAIT WHAT YUVI  CALLED MAHIR BEING ALL MAHAAN (typical Mahir) WHAT WHAT HOW AGAHGSAHS NO HOW LORD NO ABHI TOH MAI KHUSH HUYI THI NAHI AISA ZULM MAT KAREIN KHUDA KE LIYE NAHI.
Tumblr media
Why on earth is Bela passing code messages to Vish in front of the ACP? Whatever happened to technology? Phone kahaan gaya Vish ka? 😂
Lo, yehi baaki tha. Now Vish and Bela will turn against each other? MashaAllah 😂
Mat karo aisa. Aadat hojaayegi tumhari. Aur agar tumhari aadat hogayi toh tumhare jaane ke baad mera jeena...
Haye Mahir mera baccha T__T
These school/college friends of Mahir and Yuvi are such chomus. Aise kaun sawaal poochta hain 😂😂
Uff yeh Vish, so overenthusiastic to kill Mahir uff Vish uff
Tumblr media

There is very shocking tiding for the fans of Naagin TV serial, that our favorite Naagins, Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan, will no more the part of Naagin 3. Very soon, Ekta Kapoor (producer of Naagin), will announce new Naagins, with Naagin 3 release date.

“Naagin 3 is much better than season 2..mahirji is such a refreshing break from all the overdose of angry*borderline sociopath * male leads in itv. And pearl surbhi has a great chemistry! ..would love to hear your views on naagin 3 @hirakdesherrani ...”
Thanks for asking, friend! 😀
Agreed. Naagin 3 is farrrrr better than the chidiya ghar that was Naagin 2 (what I saw of it anyways).
But, I think nothing can replicate the charm of Naagin 1 for me, Rivanya’s love story was pretty well narrated, simple and sweet. Rithik is one of my fav MLs on ITV.
Things I like about Naagin 3, whatever I’ve seen of it:
1. Surbhi Jyoti and Anita H. Not just because they are gorgeous, but they are good actors as well.
Mouni and Adaa were slightly raw, immature (?) with their performance, which was the demand of the role since Shivanya and Shesha were cousins looking for revenge.
Surbhi and Anita, meanwhile, play more mature naagins as Bela and Vish. Bela is the queen/Naagrani and Vish is her best friend/confidant/partner-in-crime/commander, if you like. The characters require more maturity, and I like how Surbhi and Anita portray them on screen.
I especially like Anita’s sass at the men, its one of the most attractive aspects of the show, specially her attitude towards Yuvi in the beginning.
2. Bela’s character is a cut above other naagins, because not only is she here for revenge, she is entrusted with looking after the naagmani (old story) and the naag population. Everyone bows down to her. I like how she’s got this whole ‘superhero’ vibe to her, defeating newer enemies popping out of nowhere.
Its not just about revenge anymore, but also duties of being a princess, heir to the Naag kingdom, and I really appreciate how Surbhi carries herself as the Naarani.
Gone are the days of Shivanya’s impassioned hunger for vengeance against her mother’s murderers. Bela is here not just for revenge, but to punish, to put people in line, to protect her throne, and there is a more controlled rage, and a more dignified manner in which Surbhi carries herself as Naagrani.
3. An unproblematic ML. I think Pearl needs to improve his acting skills, but Mahir as a character is really nice to watch. He is soft, supportive, but also sensible (most of the times), and though a little desperate lol, I like him.
4. Surbhi and Pearl’s chemistry is cute. I won’t say its as great as say Surbhi’s chemistry with KSG, KVB or Shoib, but its interesting enough to watch.
5. I love, love, love the costumes/sarees that the cast wears, specially Bela and Vish.
There is this general air of lavishness to an Ekta set, which I like. Balaji has the money and it likes to spend it, and the audience loves to watch. So, thats a win-win.
Things I don’t like:
1. The pace of the story. It seems to drag at some points, and circle around the same thing so many times...that ugh, that annoys me.
2. The unnecessary characters who are introduced for filler weeks. I hated that chudail and that bagpiper man (whatever their names were). Ugh, truly hated them, they were so not needed.
3. Innumerable plug-ins. There was this chain of movie promotions: Veere di Wedding, Laila Majnu, Stree, etc. So unnecessary and annoying.
4. The lack of gore. I feel the bite is missing. Like Surbhi and Anita are carrying the burden of the naagin killings on their shoulders, the action director/writer of those scenes is not doing his/her job properly.
I remember how Shivanya and Shesha killed Suri in the temple. I think that was my most favorite kill on Naagin ever. The drama level of that kill, and the execution, nothing comes close to that!!
I felt none of the succeeding seasons (2 or 3) could replicate the dramatic and slick execution of action/killing scenes, although season 3 is much better. Season 2 was a failure on all accounts.
Something about the killings in this season, like all the hard work is left to the actors, the lighting is poor and really dark, the sequence of how it plays out is not well thought out, the drama quotient is low, among other things.
So, yeah this is about it, I think. I still have to catch up on the latest epis, so maybe my opinion might change 🤷‍♀️

The Importance of Hindi Television Shows in Our Lives
Remember the time when dinner was not served at home before 11 PM because your mother did not want to miss the episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? Or remember the time when your dad answered every question that Amitabh Bachchan asked the contestants of Kaun Banega Crorepati? Or even those moments when grandmothers thought that her four sons signified the characters of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki? Yes, these are all the unforgettable memories that were, and even today, mark the power of Hindi Television shows and what it has done to us in the recent years. We Indians are always high on the emotional quotient and anything that strikes our emotional chords would be an instant hit. That is why, family soaps have managed to connect to people, which in return gave the shows their TRP's, awards and the tag of being the most successful show in the Indian television history. Similar is the case with reality shows. The audience cried when the contestants failed and celebrated when they prevailed. Watch Naagin 3 gave a chance to the ordinary people to change their destiny and acquire fame. It made people believe that they have an equal chance to be on television, and that looking attractive or running around production houses to showcase their talent was not required anymore to be a part of a show. Therefore it is not wrong to say that Indian television shows offers us a lot of drama, entertainment and opportunities, which connects all of us to it. But the point also to be noted here is that people change their preferences very quickly with new shows. Channels like Zee, Colours, Star and Sony are trying very hard to come up with the best mix of family soaps and reality shows to increase their TRP's. Currently, Colours stands second in TRP charts with their shows like India's Got Talent and Balika Vadhu. However, Sony Entertainment stands tall with Kaun Banega Crorepati, CID, Bade Acche Lagte Ho and Crime Patrol, and walks away with the chunk of top shows in the charts, both in the daily soaps section as well as the reality shows section. Star marks third with their show Diya Aur Baati Hum, after their drop in the charts with the end of Satyameva Jayate season one. But at the end of the day, these numbers really don't matter to the Hindi television audience. What really matters to them is the emotional connect which they find in the reality shows and family soaps that these channels have to offer them.
