2nd Annual Red Queen Fanfiction Awards

We are back and it's awards season on the Norta Event Council blog! After the success of last year's, the 2nd Annual Red Queen Fanfiction Awards are back, and with a new categories and batch!

Same with last year, nominations and awards will be posted in batches, and all of these batches correspond with each other.

Crown Awards: Best Fanfiction, Best Author, Best Multi-Chapter, Best One-shot, Best Incomplete/Ongoing

Genre Awards: Best AU, Best Fluff, Best Smut, Best Angst, Best Platonic/Gen

Ship Awards (based on top ao3 ships): Best Marecal, Best Mareven, Best Evane, Best Thomaven, Best Farley/Shade, Best Rarepair

Other Fan Works (NEW!): Best Artist, Best Original Character, Best Creator.

Best Artist: For all fan artists Best OC: original Characters made by fans, no matter which form they take!   Best Creator: non-fanart and non-fanfiction creators of playlists, memes, mood boards, web weaves, analyses, etc. 

Timeline

Nominations are open until May 5th

Nominations will be posted by May 8th

Voting will be from May 13 to May 20th

Winners will be posted by May 22nd

The 2nd Annual Red Queen Fanfiction Awards are just around the corner! Announcement and nomination form comes Sunday at 11:30AM EST

The Ultimate Red Queen Character Tournament!

begins tomorrow! Here's what you need to know:

Methodology:

There are two brackets ( A and B) with 30 characters each. The tournament places top seeds against lower seeds so we don't get crazy match-ups in the first few rounds. Seeds were decided by ao3 stats (how many fics are in their tags) and/or how big of a character they are. Characters were put into brackets by counting off by 1 and 2 as I went down the list of characters and their seeds.

Voting:

In interest of not clogging the tag with polls, there will be a google form for the first two rounds, posted on Mondays at 8:00AM EST. Once there are 16 characters left (after 2 rounds), voting will move to tumblr, and the brackets will combine. Polls will then be posted, staggered at every 5 minutes, on Mondays at 8:00AM EST

Voting will last for 1 week.

Schedule:

Round 1: 11/6 8AM EST

Round 2: 11/13 8AM EST

Round 3: 11/20 8AM EST

Round 4: 11/27 8AM EST

Finals: 12/4 8AM EST

Ends: 12/11 8AM EST

Campaigns:

Campaigning is allowed, but keep it fun and light-hearted. Any hate will result in a block! You can tag @nortaeventcouncil in your campaign post if you want, I'll rb :)

For characters who already have nominations, I'll post them under their names during voting.
