that very brief but supercharged amount of time in 2020 that 'hyperpop' was at the forefront of popular music... yeah im glad we got past that
#it was partially cool because a lot of young artists got their start from it n there was a lot of light on the underground#but the music was not good#im glad a lot of the artists evolved their sounds or ditched the label completely it was kind of insulting anyways#bc of spotify n tiktok the music conglomerates wld just label any type of electronic music as hyperpop especially so they cld market it#hyperpop ended up being kind of like a claw machine where music labels wld snatch up white boys with a penchance for autotune n distortion#n then other artists were left in the dust i especially feel that quinn/osquinn/p4rkr shouldve gotten more kudos but oh well
