I would like to say something

Even if Dae Ho lied about being in the marines, it would make sense given his lore

His father thought he was to feminine, putting him in the Marines. He clearly doesnt have a good relationship with him, seeming uncomfortable whenever his dads brought up

He was taught he needed to be more masculine, so in order to seem more tough and manly, he said he was in the Marines. Because his dad was in the Marines, and like i said, his dad thinks he's not tough enough. So in order to seem tough he faked being in the marines

Or maybe he was in the Marines but he didnt last long, or he was in a different position in the marines that didnt have to do with killing. And he possibly felt ashamed so he faked being in a part of the army where you actually kill people

But again this is all just my thoughts and opinions. HOPE THIS MADE SENSE!!!
