They were greasy and delicious and just what he needed for his hangover. He'd been to a party with friends the night before, someone's birthday, and two drinks turned into three, then four. "I just, I'm been so down lately, I was clearly overcompensating. How are you doing?" He asked the person on the other side of the booth.

"You're a teacher, huh...that's cool." Lorelai repeated and hummed in admiration-- no wonder why she woke up so damn early! Who functioned correctly after a night of partying? Definitely NOT Lorelai. She was even surprised she could even form sentences coherently let alone let her eyes adjust to the sudden light that the other turned on. As she watched the other disappear, Lorelai forced herself off the couch and followed behind. "Oh fuck, it's been a long time since someone's made me a GOOD cuppa tea. I'll take that."

Nonetheless, Waverly was still a stranger--- yet the other's words for affirmation and smile made her feel a little better upon wanting to take advantage of someone's utilities. It just seemed to be a bit more convenient than showering on the tour bus or pit-stopping at a yucky gas station, anyways. Lorelai's brown eyes wandered around the other's surroundings prior to having listened to Waverly's directions and found the bathroom. "Ah, here we go. Thanks, mate."

time seems to slow to a crawl as those words reach him, barely audible over the rush of blood in his ears. oh, he is FAR more than simply ‘ okay, ’ if only he had the words for it. “ i am . . . simply sublime, ” he answers, each word a bit heavier, a bit slower, than the last. he knows what's coming ( and it has been a long time coming ) even if wynonna doesn't yet. and he is at peace with it. after all, doc holliday died a long time ago . . . and this time, well, he can't think of a better cause worth dying for than family, his family.

his breath hitches as he goes to take a step, and stumbles, the ground rushing to meet him as he falls to his knees in the frigid snow. his spirit may remain fierce as ever, but his body is beginning to fail him. “ it'll be -- ” a pause, a breath, “ all right, wynonna. ” his girls are safe. that's all that matters.

Lainey flinched, nose wrinkling as she tried not to pull her hand away from the other woman. "It's fine, can you just put a bandaid on it?" She asked, knowing very well that a single bandaid would not be enough. But it stung, and she didn't want to deal with this any more. @myxtorturedxheart

Alexandria nodded her head at Nova's statement. "I am used to being overworked, but it doesn't really get any easier. I just go home and immediately go to bed most nights." Alix said with a sigh as she felt she was going to burn out.

"I can imagine that would be tough." Nova had always admired Alexandria, being a nurse was a job she herself never would have been able to do. "Hopefully they'll find someone soon. It's not right that they're overworking you all like that."

Colin was hanging out at the bar he frequented with a few of his friends from the precinct. The night was winding down, and he was having a few beers. Colin was watching the television showing a boxing match when one of his friends bumped him and pointed toward the bar; the girl behind the bar had been looking his way, and when they locked eyes, she smiled before going back to what she was doing. "Well, boys, about to see if my old Arizona charm will work on a girl from New York," Colin said as he sipped his beer and approached the bar. When he got close. "I don't know if it's just the lighting in here, but I couldn't help but notice that you have beautiful eyes, which match perfectly with that smile you gave me. I'm Colin." Colin said as he held his hand out.

"Your favourite person in the entire world? Wow!" She dramatically gasped, almost as if the compliment came as a surprise to her. Roxy was far from possessing any narcissistic personality traits, but she, nonetheless, enjoyed the praise. To see customers (and friends) with a grin on their face, brought her joy. At the end of the day, all she wanted was a welcoming atmosphere, even if she was the owner and the owner was often waiting tables too. Hard work paid off!

"I'm honoured that you'd risk your squeaky clean record for lil ol' me," She winked as she pulled down a brightly coloured mug from shelves behind her and placed it in front of Maya-- still waiting for a fresh pot of coffee to brew. That, and she couldn't forget to retrieve said sugar shaker too. Her next words were hushed, and she pressed a finger to her own lips for added flare, again, though it was nothing to boast about. "Speaking of, I actually, um, have stolen a car before."

those are sentences aspyn isn’t used to hearing. compliments always seemed to carry a strange, uncomfortable weight, as if people only said them to make her feel good. but riley’s... different. she’s honest, and aspyn values that trait very much. " thank you, " she says, the sincerity in her voice coming out with more depth than she intended. " me too. you're really one of a kind. " she feels the need to add, wanting her to know that. " so… should we get going, then? grab some popcorn after buying tickets? "

riley smiled and nodded, it was one of those things she just hadn't had the time for, even since coming home for good. "i usually go for the cheesy romance movies or something animated." she explained with a shrug. "i'll admit, my sense of fashion hasn't changed much since i was in high school, you're the stylish one here. and i'm really enjoying getting to know you, you're wonderful."

Alex was making his way toward his favorite coffee shop; he was surprised that after all these years, it was still there; it was the common hang-out spot for him and his friends on the weekends, just sitting around, sipping on their favorite coffee and talking. He was just reaching the door when he bumped into a woman and spilled her coffee. "Shit, I am so sorry about that, I hope none spilled on you...Maya?" Alex said in surprise, he hadn't see Maya since graduation, sure they kept in touch from time to time but this was the first time he seen her in person in fifteen years.

"well, if you ever decide to take it up in the future just know that i'll be in your corner keeping your spirits and vibes up." he finished up with the bandages and got up to grab an ice pack in case it was still sore. he poured her water, got a tylenol and went back. "maybe you just have a crush on me and don't like seeing me get fucked with."

"thanks." she was grateful that he was willing to patch her up, as well as get her out of there. "oh, i think my fighting career is one and done." nova let out a laugh, shaking her head as she watched him look after hand. "i honestly don't know. i've never been one for fighting, even when i was in an awful place."

Brian had woken up to the feeling of Maya shifting in his arms and before he knew it, she was pressing a kids to his cheek and leaving the room. He thought he’d reached for her and tried to pull her back into bed for a few more minutes but must have dreamt about it as he was later startled awake by one important thought: his sister was getting married today.

Now he stood facing Maya while waiting for the bride to show up. It was impossible not to think about their own wedding ceremony, about the fact that it would soon be their turn. He smiled at her, knowing she was probably thinking the same and winked at her. They hadn’t even started planning yet but he already knew it would be the happiest day of his life and they would get to share it with their loved ones. He looked into her eyes until he felt the atmosphere shift. All the guests were standing up now, their gazes turned toward the large double doors where his father and sister were positioned. Brian smiled. This was one of the most beautiful sights, especially as the music began playing and the two began walking down the aisle. One brief look at Maya’s brother and he knew that this man would keep his sister happy.
