I literally love Baldr Legal so much, and seeing William Lewis in the Bakerlon event is like eternal entertainment to me!!

Like even just take this earlier conversation where he explains why he’s here…

I think his sentence is meant to be taken as, “if it wasn’t for Howard Syter, my partner would be Ingrid Rosworth…” but it could also totally be taken as ‘smh I can’t believe Howard isn’t here on this cool train adventure with me’. Canonically Howard and William are just love rivals for Ingrid, but it would be sooooooo good if that dynamic was complicated by them liking each other. Or at least William liking Howard.

Perhaps the whole firm is just made of Baldr Bisexuals. Ingrid is already so complicated but I think she’s voiced at least a few of her feelings before—though the better spokesperson on her is def @theres-a-bea whom I love and adore but yeah.

Ok I'm like at ACT 2 of Bakerlon but THIS WOMAN I FRIVKING SWEAR.

HOW? How are we asking all these questions but missing the important one;

Just look at these leading questions, "oh, my husband he was *PERFECT*, he would never - but wait let me tell you about his drinking problems and drama with the stab victim. Oh ? No it's not his, that's my Dagger."

HOW THE HECK DID SHE GET THE DAGGER. DO YOU JUST CARRY IT WITH YOU ON THE STREET MA'AM ? You didn't *know* this train was going to be haunted. Wink wink. It's almost like you co-planned this with the crystals professor - The one that seems intent to prove the Khan family had this dark history of coverups.

And even before this ma'am was INSISTENT on setting MASS HYSTERIA onto the crowd.

"AH! Everyone look there, in that inconspicuous corner that most people missed & maybe I shouldn't yell out into a room with the murder victim. IT'S NOT JUST A FLOWER. IT'S A *RED* REVENGE POPPY."

And now that my husband is dead, I'm instead going to focus on telling everyone about THE CURSE. No I'm not going to focus on my grief for my dead husband, he's already dead.

Can we just take a second to talk about how Artem looks at Rosa?? Like this man clearly adores her long before they started dating and it’s so obvious, that it hurts.

LOOK AT HIM! ROSA HAD BARELY STARTED FEELING ANYTHING FOR ARTEM AT THIS POINT AND HE JUST!!! ＿|￣|○ He looks at her with so much tenderness and all the while he’s under the impression that he’s struggling to communicate how he feels??? Sure, he’s a clumsy dork when it comes to romance, but his eyes say so much more than any romantic gesture he could possibly conjure up or whatever poetic words he might want to say. Those eyes express a very deep longing to treasure and cherish. He wants, and is content with, experiencing the mundane things in life at her side and it KILLS ME 😭 he’s happy, beyond compare, watching the waxing and waning of her expressions and feeling her warmth.

AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON HIS BIRTHDAY INVITATION! Out of ALL the First Birthday invitations, Artem’s was my absolute favorite(and it’s probably my favorite invitation of all time). For one thing, it’s stunning, but it’s so unbelievably soft T^T!!!!!! The gentle way Rosa shifts closer to Artem, the way he gently holds her hand and blushes when she gets closer. The adoring look on his face and the soft smile on hers! UGH!! And it only gets better when you think about how she spent DAYS recreating an iconic scene from Artem’s favorite movie!? As a movie buff myself, Rosa’s actions spoke volumes! She dedicated so much of her personal time to get Artem a gift she knew he’d love. I wouldn’t be surprised if Artem fell in love with her all over again after that!

And after they start dating, he just continues to be more loving!? Some how his gaze becomes EVEN SOFTER!? HOW!? TELL ME! HOW!? If a man looked at me the way Artem looks at Rosa, I’d actually die. Out of all the leads, I think I love with way Artem looks at Rosa the most. It’s such a gentle and adoring expression that is 100% content with just looking. Just observing. The way he looks at her makes you think he’s committing every micro expression to memory and tracing every contor of her face, so that if there ever comes a day that he can’t see her face, it’ll be permanently seared into his very soul.

AUGJRVWWejtbegw AND IT GETS BETTER! They revealed, during the Cue The Champion Event, that Artem keeps a polite distance with Rosa when they’re in public, meaning he’s probably pretty shy about PDA, so he makes up for it through his loving gaze(thats how I’m interpreting it anyway :3). Artem and Rosa, in my humble opinion, create a very warm atmosphere around each other without having to express their affections verbally or physically. Any bystander could tell the two love each other just by seeing how they look at each other. Just by seeing how Artem looks at her. UGH JUST LIKE IN THE MYSTERIES OF BAKERLON EVENT! He’s composing a wordless love letter (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`)

I’m mostly adding this card just for fun, but there’s just so much affection Artem carries for Rosa and as much as I love the other leads, Artem holds a very special place in my heart that I just can’t ignore 🥺

OHHHH THIS IS A FUN QUESTION, THANK YOU ANON!!! let me go from my highest to lowest.

for this question, im taking "main event stories" to mean the Big 4 SSR Events where the event story involves the entire team all at once (so no xmas events or sotn, or solo or duo events). and i will be judging these events primarily on their event story (so not as much as the gameplay, though thatll also be a factor. but i wont be judging the cards)

OH DANG WHY DID I EXPLAIN IT, THE TOT WIKI DOES A MUCH BETTER JOB AT DEFINING BIG 4 SSR EVENTS, HERE, THIS IS WHAT IM JUDGING

anyhoo, here is my personal ranking!

FIRST PLACE: Mysteries of the Lost Gold

my beloved, my favorite, my perfect shining star. lost gold was the first big event i played and it has yet to be dethroned as my favorite event story of all of tot. absolute homerun of a rich story with intrigue, high stakes, a good balance of tender moments and lighthearted ones, and just SO gripping in terms of all of the story threads coming together, plus the absolutely A+ nxx team interactions. my advice to every new player who comes into my inbox is "PLAY THE LOST GOLD DLC" because i love it so much. i will never shut up about how i love it so much. it has our very first raven!luke sighting. it has marius nearly getting stabbed. it has artem with gun. it has vyn doing that THING with the bow and arrow. LIKE. THIS EVENT IS PERFECT TO ME. it'll take something really really special to dethrone it.

SECOND PLACE: Enduring Light

this isnt recency bias speaking but my real honest thoughts: this story delighted me to no end. i was kept on the edge my seat for every single phase, and the sheer novelty of the story's setup and the gameplay was such a nice change of pace after the previous event formats started to get repetetive. i especially loved that this time, we had to suspect the nxx boys as well because that really added to my enjoyment of this event. it really felt like a mystery that had to be solved by us, and not just a mystery that will unravel by itself as long as we keep playing, if that makes sense? my point is i was immensely immersed in enduring light and i love it lots lots lots. luke looking stupendously hot in his outfit during the entire event was also a huge plus.

THIRD PLACE: a tie between Blizzardous Threads of Red & Mystery of Bakerlon

i really loved BTR and bakerlon!!! both of their murder cases were adequately thrilling for me, though towards the end i could feel the adrenaline wearing off, if that makes sense? like by the 4th phase, things were slotting together already in a way that like lowered the feeling of intrigue. also i know i said i wouldnt judge much based on gameplay, but these two deserve a shoutout for MINIGAMES I WANT TO KILL W MY BARE HANDS. bakerlon's crystal tasks were so repetetive to me, and BTR's TIMED ESCAPE ROOM THINGIES heightened my blood pressure several times HAHA

FOURTH PLACE: To My Beloved: Moonlit Eve (anniv 2)

this has a soft spot in my heart for including all of the old NPCs from main story, and that was very heartwarming. while theres no mystery that needs solving, just seeing the team hang out together and have fun together was such a treat for my soul

FIFTH PLACE: Secrets of the Tomb

sott is where i'd say the event story quality is inching towards the meh scale. the mystery here was interesting but was not particularly gripping to me. it might just be a me thing, but i enjoyed the side stories (the ones you get with the boys when you investigate the artefacts) more than the actual event story itself.

SIXTH PLACE: A Love Poem to Skadi

ahhhhh skadi. psychological and medical malpractice horrors skadi.....HJSVKHSJDFDSF. i will admit, the mystery in this story is HORRIFIC and it was enjoyable to unravel it, but here is where i break my rule again of not talking about gameplay but mAAAAAAN THE GAMEPLAY HINDERED MY ENJOYMENT OF THE MAIN PLOT LOTS. it was rather difficult for me to do all the exploration in that manor and that stalled my absorption of the story too. plus, i think the fact that the story is Over made the story have a bit of a muted quality to it. not in a bad way (i distinctly remember i wrote a semi-analysis post about how i enjoyed that the story was in the Past) but it definitely affected the mood of the gameplay, if that makes sense?

(that is the third time ive said "if that makes sense" in this response, THREE STRIKES AND YER OOOOOUT)

SEVENTH PLACE: Blissful Fete (anniv 1)

be honest with me.....do YOU remember the event story plot of blissful fete? cuz i sure dont. JVSKDHFSJDHSF. i only remember getting very very mad at luke during that fucking minigame where we guess if the card is higher or lower. that being said, if i cant even remember much of the story, then it didnt make an impact on me and couldve been improved.

I haven't played the bakerlon event yet, but I love making headcannons for Luke, and this is the basis of the overall vibe of the event:

Murder happens on the train

Luke: *Trying to hide the excitement*

Rosa: *staring at him* what is wrong with your face?

Luke: is just the vibe i'm getting, you know? The way people are dressed, the ambiance, the fact that a murder happened, it's like i'm in a Sherlock Holmes novel, which is my dream since childhood-

Rosa: wtf Luke!

Luke: sorry, i know is wrong to get excited, after all someone just died, it was rude of my part...

Rosa: that's not what i meant, this ain't a Sherlock novel, is an Agatha Christie one

Luke: ???

Rosa: really? You know, a murder on a train... Murder on the Orient Express! You never read it?

Luke: no, is any good? Like, it can't be better than Sherlock

Rosa: you truly are a lost cause

In my headcannons, I always imagine Rosa and Luke as a pair of siblings who are always bickering and are passionate about mystery.

I overlooked Emmy because you hid his character sprite to make us assume he was just a side character (bc only important characters to the story get unique character models) up until the final chapter and confrontation. hey, hope bakerlon's treating you well! i just wanted to ask you since you usually note things like this, have you seen any references to LIs' card stories during the event gameplay? tbh i've been tapping through/speed reading some of it so i'm sure i've missed some stuff, but i did screenshot the "wordless love letter" mentioned in a crystal research task (artem's card iirc) and i think there was sth earlier in the event story about an organization that would leave a sign/calling card (luke's card)...? --vynegar

I wish I had better news about Bakerlon. The pulls haven't been going well on my end, but it's the nature of the game, unfortunately. I'm 60 pulls in, and the only SSR I got was Vyn's Romantic Rail Getaway card from over a year ago. lol.

I don't have enough to go any further, so I have to call it.

For the Bakerlon event, there are references to the other LI's card stories! Most of them are under the Crystal Research parts of the event. Due to storage issues and being unfamiliar with the general event card stories, I've missed a few of them, but I have caught a couple.

There's a creator on Hoyolab that has compiled the general screenshots where the event references the stories, and I'll link it here. I'll throw it under the cut in case of spoilers.

Luke's card story reference (A letter with a Twifoil Mark. Accompanying this reference is an explanation from the librarian about the Twifoil organization.)

Marius card story reference (A piece of paper with the words: Eris International Trade. In addition, there's an additional piece of dialogue - "Miss [Y/N], interview for office secretary at 2pm at 10 Shaudik Street.)

Vyn card story reference (An old book pulled from the utility closet with the title: Tellus Travelogue. In addition, there's an additional piece of dialogue Rosa says, "If the destination takes me to an unknown world, I'm willing to accept the invitation."

Artem's card story reference (A card found in the utility room that has a blank front, but has a handmade sketch of a rose in the back corner, along with a line of illegible words. Talking with Dr. Miller reveals that the card is a wordless love letter, one of the most romantic expressions of love. Wordless love letters say nothing and everything at the same time.)
