who: @dancingshores when and where: lann's day celebrations within casterly rock, ruqaiyah dayne comes across a nobody who has been climbing the ranks of importance within the court of sunspear. how she hates it.
she had noticed it briefly first, orbs passing over the scene as she found herself engaging in conversation with the hand of king cedric of house tyrell, and then her gaze snapped back to it again.
a familiar figure and voice, all sweetness and honey with long thick dark hair behind a mask; and a head of blonde hair she did not recognise, dancing upon the floor. it was enough to cause her to look upon it, making no attempt to even be subtle; what a scene. this was hardly a surprise, was it? the woman had seemingly given up on her mission of being the most unreliable, detached string in the realm and had instead decided to climb the ranks of court - and climbing the cocks of reachmen.
the music came to a slow as the dance began to end, and she found herself winding her way toward the woman she suspected, and the man that would later be confirmed to be lord gael hightower. and when the dance ended, ruqaiyah had no issue with a slow, sarcastic clap for the duo; slipping right to the side of zahra sand, the dornish court seer.
"amazing." ruqaiyah spoke, her tone gushing in falsehood; and yet, she maintained the gaze of them both. would the reachman see her deceit? no doubt zahra sand would, instantly.
and then she switched to their native tongue, a smooth and seamlessly transition as she feigned a friendly move of putting her hand on zahra's forearm, as though to usher her away. "is the court seer too busy planning on spreading herself on the white man to do the ridiculous job given to you out of pity?" myriam allyrion's favourite pet, was what ruqaiyah called her. all the while, not once did she think of the sister she had left for dead on the borders of the tor. the blood that was never upon her hands.
"i want my palm read. save embarrassing us for later and do your job."

Okay, so I only did one thing today with Myriam. I got out of this fight easily but I forgot how brutal the scene is :D
(x)
I am going to pass out
Somehow I totally forgot that Myriam's dream that she never got to fullfill was to become a musician. Well, she can get a taste of it now, when she least expected it.
Wooo this was so good! I love solving this battle by using way too many explosives 😂
This might be the first time the camera didn't glitch out for me in the Oliver combat :D
Gonna end today's session by rescuing my evil wife 🥺
(x)
I always got out of this fight by talking, but today I'm thinking of doing it the harder way, let's see how it goes
YOURE A COWBOY LIKE ME
So. That went. Not well for these two but very well otherwise
Funny timing considering Minthara saved everyone's asses in this combat 💀
Ah crap, time to break another heart 😭

Thinking on something in FFXIV, and specifically my character's thought processes.
Spoilers ahead for Endwalker and Dawntrail. I'm tagging it, too, but really want to be sure.
So, the ending of Endwalker proper is a message about not giving up on life, to not let death stop you from living a good life. That kind of thing.
And then you visit The Void in Post-Endwalker and Living Memory in Dawntrail. Places where people are no longer dying (or at least, not permanently in The Void).
Just as Endwalker says to live and live well, these areas speak of how important death is, too. The Void is practically a hellscape, because everyone is dying and being returned ad infinitum, to the point where Golbez and the Archfiends are planning to invade the Source specifically to finally be able die permanently and rest.
And then Alexandria and Living Memory, where people can't remember those who have died and the dead's memories are walking around as if they were still alive.
When Myriam, my Warrior of Light, set forth on her journey to see the world, they weren't expecting to become a hero. They figured they'd get a bit of training in how to use her lance better and then set out to have a gander at all the world had to offer.
At that point, she had never lost anyone, save for all memory before she was adopted by the Sangvitrail family in Coerthas. But as things went on, people died. The biggest gut punches being the Player Punches of good friend Harchefaunt and Ysayle (who she was massively crushing on).
She found new friends, new places, new wonders. She gained a couple more crushes that she knew could never be (and fell in fully love with someone without realizing it, too). "For those we have lost, for those we can yet save" became her mantra in hard times. Something to hold her up, even as Ultima Thule did its best to tear her down. There was even some comfort via the Aitiascope, where she felt the memories of the fallen friends, and knew they were at peace after the end, even as their vestiges sought to help her.
And then the visit to The Thirteenth and everything that happened therein. Where they saw what consequences can come from a lack of death altogether.
Alexandria horrified her with the memory removal. She can't remember anything from before the Seventh Umbral Calamity and these people are having memories torn from their minds? Unthinkable. A nightmare.
Finally, Living Memory. If there could have been a way to preserve the memories without making the sacrifices Sphene sought, she would have agreed with that part. But those memories were not truly living people, they were ghosts, not allowed to rest. So, with a heavy and yet relieved heart, Myriam released the ghosts of Living Memory.
Well, that was heavy stuff. Have a picture of Myriam in her latest Dark Knight getup as a palette cleanser:

"EVERY NUANCE OF YOU“
In the map of your form, coordinates entwined,
each contour, a melody, uniquely designed.
I've memorized the echoes, the whispers, the hums,
knowing where pleasure in your body becomes.
a symphony of sighs, a cadence so sweet,
In the geography of us, our hearts and heat.
Yet, in the dance of passion, I often feign,
lost in the pleasure, pretending to regain.
To rediscover the nuances, the hidden delight,
as if exploring your body for the very first night.
In the maze of desire, where pleasure takes flight,
I cherish the moments of our amorous reprise.
In the depths of my heart, I have engraved
the coordinates of your body, so delicately saved.
Every inch, every curve, every hidden space,
a map of desire that's etched on my embrace.
I know the spots that will make you sigh,
where moans of pleasure effortlessly imply,
That in this symphony of passion's delight,
I hold the key to unlocking sheer delight.
Yet, I confess, I find joy in feigning a chase,
in pretending to be lost amidst your grace.
For in those moments of tantalizing uncertainty,
I rediscover the depths of your sensuality.
Exploring your body, oh what a divine art,
each touch, each kiss, a brand new start.
From tender whispers that tickle your ear,
to the electrifying touch that ignites your fear.
Your neck, a deep cavern , where whispers dwell,
cascading shivers, upon secrets they do tell.
Your lips, a gateway, to desires unspoken,
a union of souls, an affection unbroken.
Oh, those trembling points, a constellation of bliss,
Where pleasure and passion freely reminisce.
Your back, an arch that beckons my quest,
leading me to valleys of ecstasy, truly blessed.
Your breasts, two gems, with secrets untold,
aching to be cherished, aching to behold.
And as I descend, exploring even lower still,
Your sighs crescendo, as your desires I fulfil.
With every touch, every stroke, my love,
Your body responds, likes a muse from above.
Together we dance, in this fiery connection,
Lost in the art of desire's divine reflection.
So fear not, my love, for I'll navigate true,
The map of your body, I now intimately knew.
But let's for now, indulge in the game of make-believe,
For the pleasure of rediscovery, well then achieve.
From the moment I first set my blinkered eyes on you,
the person I once only imagined had become real and true
I've become caught up in the allure of your charm,
Lost in your poetic soul where I want to stay, and come to no harm.
Taking my time, as I traverse and caress your flawless skin,
your divinity, so precious , I'm desperate to enter in,
Meandering, as I taste all of you, my sweetest sin,
mapping all your sensual topography both outside and within.
My lips trace the sinuous curves of your spine, I you surprise
as my hands explore, not seeking the need to apologise,
It all feels so special so uniquely YOU and divine,
this mapping the landscape of your body so fine.
The honeyed caress of your delicate fingertips,
your beautiful topography, the aroused juices I sip
Captured in this soul-to-soul love, my heart is on fire
I discover not only true beauty and loveliness, but also, tender desire.
The hills and valleys of your body I trace,
each one telling unique stories only only my arms can embrace,
Depicting a masterpiece of beauty just for me,
the undulation your curves, proves wondrous to see.
You reassure and relieve my mind of doubt and fear,
your breathing as I touch you, so calm and sincere,
Your heart beating in rhythm, but in a perfect cadence,
mesmerised by my touch my tender recompense.
As I traverse across your gentle but sensual curves,
freeing up my touch, discovering what pure instinct deserves
This oh so passionate journey, through and through,
this most welcome sojourn is meant only, for you.
Myriam, drowning in your depths, no more need I roam,
my heart is has become your spiritual home,
The truth I have to face, is that I'm lost, but no longer alone,
losing myself in your nuances , i'll never again, be on my own.

Database of Drug-Related Festival Deaths Needed to Save Lives - Technology Org

Database of Drug-Related Festival Deaths Needed to Save Lives - Technology Org
A study led by the University of Liverpool has called for the introduction of a national database of drug-related medical incidents at UK music festivals to evaluate support services, improve safety and reduce the risk of drug-related deaths (DRDs).

The exact number of DRDs at UK music festivals in recent years is unknown as there are currently no standard processes for reporting or accessing data on medical incidents at these events.
This lack of a centralised, publicly accessible system for festivals to report drug-related medical incidents hinders festival organisers and support services when monitoring trends in drug-related harm and assessing the effectiveness of interventions.
Without a real-time reporting system for drug-related harm during festivals, potential opportunities are missed for preventing harm to others, such as warnings to drug-using communities about adulterated illicit drug markets.
Given that inquests often take months or even years to determine the cause of death, new research published in Drug Science, Politics and Law calls for a transparent database to compare drug-related harm within and across festivals in real-time to increase opportunities for intervention which could prevent death.
Through cross-referencing media and social media with a national database provided by coroners and communications with bereaved families and associated organisations, this research identified that, between 2017 and 2023, there were 32 potential DRDs at festivals, with 18 confirmed. Three of these deaths were of individuals under the age of 18. On average, there are five or six festival DRDs each year in the UK.
16-year-old David Celino died at Leeds Festival in August 2022 after taking high-strength ecstasy tablets. While reported at the time as an “isolated incident,” there was another DRD the same weekend and an alert was issued for similar high strength tablets by a drug testing service at a different festival.
At David’s inquest, the coroner called for greater oversight of drug-related harm at UK festivals which the introduction of a festival-specific database would ensure.
It is estimated that up to 87% of festival attendees have tried illegal drugs in their lifetime, more than twice the prevalence rate (36%) of young adults in the general population. This means that, as drug consumption is more likely at festivals, adequate oversight is necessary to prevent drug-related harm.
Professor Fiona Measham, Chair of Criminology at the University of Liverpool said: “Our research has shown that there is a small but significant number of drug-related deaths at UK music festivals each year. It is clear that more needs to be done to reduce drug-related harm, to ensure that everyone can enjoy festivals safely and to prevent any other parents hearing the heart-breaking news that their child won’t be coming home.
“While our research has shed light on the issue, currently we’re in a situation where we don’t know the definite number of drug-related deaths at festivals. This makes it extremely difficult for everyone to understand whether the situation is getting better or worse and whether festival health initiatives such as drug checking services, amnesty bins and medical services are effective.
“What we do know is that people are more likely to take drugs at festivals than elsewhere and drug markets are especially unpredictable at the moment, with risk of overdose or poisoning from synthetics. Introducing a transparent, real-time publicly accessible database of drug-related harm across festivals would provide a comprehensive picture of the extent of the issue and whether or not on-site festival support services are effective.
“If we can warn people about dangerous substances in circulation and prevent overdoses and poisoning happening in the first place, not only do we reduce DRDs and parents avoid the heartbreak of bereavement, it eases the pressures on the NHS and health services around these events.”

the tone in the voice of the woman beside her sent a wave of comfort over the dancer - a thought that hadn’t even crossed her mind at the fact that the gods had blessed her with closure she didn’t realize she so craved after so many years. while her mind would yet be filled with why’s and what if’s she could feel the relief begin to slowly wash over her, as if she were taking a dip in cool water on a warm day. with the shawl grasped gently in her hands, almost instinctively taking to the others offers of comfort, a thing she never really knew much of, a faint smile crossed her lips.
"i needed to hear that." she admitted, with a sniffle as she used the back of her hand to rub at her nose. zahra was suddenly all too aware of the mess she presented herself in front of the princess regent. despite the closeness that seemed to bond them as of late, she felt the slightest sensation of bashfulness.
and she nodded at the mention of the sword of the morning, though she did not know the lord of starfall well, she knew of his closeness with rashid, and it seemed, myriam as well. a conversation she would not question now, though curiosity picked at the back of her mind. "i know he must be heartbroken, too." she stated with a shaky resolve, before giving a soft clear of her throat. "he made the most of anything, he was..." good. he was purely good. of course, no man could be the subject of godliness, but she thought rashid jordayne's demeanor certainly came close. she would miss the simple conversations they would have, the smell of incense swirling about them in a dimly lit room. even if such moments were not recent, it was comforting to simply know this world had someone like him.
"and i needed to hear that, too." zahra answered with a gentle laugh, a small lift of her spirits as it seemed the woman before her, who held so much weight upon her own shoulders, whilst comforting the dancer of salt shore, read her own very mind in all of this. "i've never grieved in such a way, before." she admitted. the favorite daughter of her father's, a motherless child save for the woman his father took as his wife, who never dealt with very many hardships, despite the lack of status she held, she held something that many would yearn for, many died for - freedom. "it almost seems like there is a wrong way to do it, but you are right." she inhaled. "perhaps if i share my grief with the jordayne's, we can all bear the weight of it, together."
she looked at the shawl in her hands now, wrinkled and damp, a felt a small flush come to her tear-stained cheeks. zahra gently lifted it. "i must wash this before i return it to you, or perhaps i owe you a new one." she insisted, a hint of jest, even in mournful spirits. "thank you, myri. i am grateful for your words and your company, eternally."
❂
there was the slow dawning realisation within the mind of myriam allyrion, the idea that what she was seeing sat before her was what the court would have expected to see from her upon the murder of her own husband: and yet, myriam's own tears had come from a place of shock and empathy for her daughter, rather than about the actual loss.
a feeling of detachment had come over as she stood within the room surrounded by her martell family, the diligent daugher in law that had completed her duty; and would now remain part of the royal family as was expected for royal widows. "you did?" there was audible relief within myriam's words; she was glad zahra had the chance to speak to rashid, and put aside whatever pain had occurred between them years ago. "thank the gods; and you were meant to see him. whatever was said was a gift; your last conversation was not one filled with pain, or hurt. it was years later, in sunspear's hallway. everything seemed okay, didn't it?"
and yet still, the feeling of dread continued to come over her at the prospect of knowing the bridal bangles she adorned at seventeen had become shackles; her mangalsutra weighed upon her, now more than ever before. this was what grief looked like, this was how a woman that loved a man grieved. all myriam grieved for was her daughter's innocence, a childhood she would try to stitch together but she knew it would never be the same.
"i didn't know him well." myriam spoke, her hand resting upon zahra's back, rubbing it up and down as the woman allowed herself to cry on the steps of sunspear's throne. how it felt as though sunspear's throne was built on the tears and sacrifices of women. "but baashir did…he was basically his brother, so." and those words were a quiet admission of what many thought, but did not speak of. that there was something between the princess regent and the first minister of dorne: that there always had been. "you're not the only one wishing for more time."
zahra sand was just a woman who brought joy to leila's face, allowing girlish giggles to fill the courtyard over the sound of the fountains - she did not know when she had found herself latching onto her in such a way, but here she was. there was something utterly maternal about the way she wound her shawl from her own body, moving aside strands of thick chesnut hair and allowing zahra to wipe her tears with it; almost insisting she do so. the same way zahra was basically on her shoulder, with how close they sat beside one another.
and now, she grieved for the concept of goodness: whilst she never felt as though she could be, or would be, good, she had always found herself quiet in awe and in comfort in the space of rashid jordayne. now he too was gone, and she found herself wondering what plans the gods had. "you're not wrong for grieving, zahra. okay? even if you've taken different paths and found different people. you are not stepping on or undermining the grief of the jordaynes with your own." and how she knew the jordaynes would be grieving; safeerah especially, considering how close she was to her brother.
"speaking to them may help you feel some sense of peace. be with the people that have so many memories of him - it'll prepare you for the funeral."

#024 - Best News of Last Week - Jan 17, 2022
🍔 - Sorry for not posting last week as I was recovering from covid. Here's some good news you might've missed this week.
1. Beyond Meat And Impossible Foods Helped Save Nearly 1 Million Animals In The US Last Year
Just two plant-based food companies have helped spare at least 630,000 animals’ lives in 2021, and that’s just in the US. Non-profit World Animal Protection (WAP) collated the data, and stresses that the actual figure is likely significantly higher – nearing to one million.
2. Cancer mortality rates continue to decline amid 'major progress' in lung cancer early detection and treatment
Cancer mortality rates have been dropping for nearly two decades, aided by "major progress" in the early detection and treatment options for lung cancer, according to the American Cancer Society's annual report on cancer statistics, published Wednesday.
The overall cancer death rate dropped by about a third (32%) from its peak in 1991 to 2019, from about 215 deaths for every 100,000 people to about 146, averting about 3.5 million deaths during that time, according to the data. Most of that decline can be attributed to a drop in mortality among lung cancer patients.
3. 190-year-old Jonathan becomes world's oldest tortoise ever
Jonathan, the world’s oldest living land animal, has earned another Guinness World Records title!
Celebrating his 190th birthday this year, Jonathan is now the oldest tortoise ever. His official record title is oldest chelonian – a category which encompasses all turtles, terrapins and tortoises.
4. A range of animals have been confirmed to laugh.
youtube
As it turns out, according to a new article published in the journal Bioacoustics, laughter has been “documented in at least 65 species,” Jessica Wolf writes at UCLA Newsroom. “That list includes a variety of primates, domestic cows and dogs, foxes, seals, and mongooses, as well as three bird species, including parakeets and Australian magpies.”
5. Uganda to immunise 8 million children against polio
While speaking to journalists after flagging off the immunisation equipment at Kololo airstrip, the Minister for Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, said the exercise would be conducted door-to-door countrywide from January 14 to 16.
6. Missing dog found alive 6 days after landslide destroys Seattle home
Six days after a Seattle house collapsed in a landslide during heavy rains, firefighters rescued a dog Thursday that had been missing and presumed dead, officials said.
The Seattle Fire Department said it went to the house Thursday to investigate reports that the owners may have heard the dog inside the home.
7. She saved 200,000 books from the landfill and hopes to find them all a home
Myriam Gaudet stands among the shelves she installed when she first started collecting unwanted books from thrift stores. Her inventory has since ballooned to fill up two entire farmhouses and a large barn.

Somehow he wasn't able to overthrow Beron despite his powers being the 'strongest' out of his siblings, whilst Beron couldn't even touch Feyre in HL meeting, and she's just a useless sugar baby.
Is a confirmed sadist (him and Assriel should be BFFs)
Their Fans: We hate Lucien! 😤 He's boring, and useless! He couldn't be bothered to help Feyre, and therefore, he deserves DEATH!!! And Tamlin abused Feyre more than Rhys! Rhys was only saving her! Jurian betrayed the humans and Myriam! He deserved what he got!
Me:
Lucien:
Tried to help feyre because he wasn't aware that she didn't need saving (he thought that rhys was exactly what he showed UTM (and he REALLY IS) so he tried to help her in the only way he knew how)
That's the ONLY thing that he did that's considered wrong, and unlike the other guys, his intentions WERE PURE
My fox baby shall be protected!
Tamlin:
Didn't help Feyre enough (he had his own trauma to deal with, and that's okay)
He kept Feyre locked in the house (not cool TamTam)
He talked about feyre sexually in HL meeting (but she DID lead to his court being in ruins, so fair enough)
And that's about how much Tamlin did shit. Compared to the other guys, hes a saint.
Jurian:
Was a unknown spy for the Humans and Fae (acted like the enemy, but with good intentions)
Was an asshole towards Lucien for no reason.
That's what I remember from the top of my head.
He's Azriel, Cassian and Rhysands secret BETTER brother.

Sjm move in Jurian narratives is the same as Stephenie Meyer in her narratives about humans. Meyer makes humans really seem small, fragile and weak whereas she has a character like Charlie Swan who is putting up with her daughter shit. And meyer really had bella 'i was born to be a vampire and all weak human narratives, tf" . Sjm had Jurian and sent in demonic narratives to him to hype fae. No offends but no need to scrutinize human like that
I think, without saying anything nice about SM, the difference is that SJM makes humanity slaves or slave adjacent. I'm not saying humanity can't be weaker than their supernatural counterpart or even that there shouldn't be tension/conflict over this.
I'm saying that if you're going to write lore in which one of your groups enslaved the other, making the enslaved group the bad guys in your narrative framing is a problem. I forget who is telling the story of Drakon and Myriam (Rhys? Amren?), but Jurian seducing Clythia is very much written as a, "and he was a dick for this- he kills her and its brutal and unnecessary because men who kill women are bad" which, okay, usually thats true but Clythia is also AS terrible as her sister and if she learned to love a human at the last minute (literally HOW is this EVEN POSSIBLE? I have so many questions like why didn't she just kill him on sight?), we shouldn't be asked to sympathize.
And it's done to prop up Myriam and her choice to leave with Drakon and make Drakon seem better by comparison. Well, Drakon would nEVER have done that and like, yeah. Obviously. He only got involved when he found out he had a human mate. There were 0 stakes in it for Drakon.
And say what you want about Rhysand but like, he was in seemingly from the beginning despite nothing tying him to the humans. If SJM wants us to think Drakon is a good guy, she could have written a similar narrative. he joined, realized the healer is his mate, but his primary objective was always ending the slavery. But it's the other way around and he seemingly attempts to undermine Jurian over a woman and idk that feels fucking gross and weird.
Anyway I have a lot of Jurian thoughts but primarily my issue is with SJM and her framing of issues. Good guys = don't like slavery, okay very low bar. But then she'll WRITE it in and you're like...am I being asked to identify with the oppressors? Feeling sympathy for Rhys being kidnapped is one thing. Being asked to think Jurian is the villain because Drakon was horny is another .And like she did in Crescent City, if Jurian dares to have a low opinion of the fae, well he's the bad guy.
It's not about being weak, it's this very odd "humans are lesser" narrative that is ribboned through all over her works. She's making choices in her writing, words don't show up on the page. It's worth examining why she makes these choices. I think for ACOTAR it was all just an afterthought so the Drakon army could come at the last minute and save the day but I don't want to see them again. I hope if we do Rhysand hits him in the face for being a coward. I feel like only Rhys could get away with it.
#justice for jurian#stop letting these immortal men get away with doing the bare minimum#thinking slavery is bad is a LOW ASS BAR#sjm critical#as always

If Jacob hadn't been working on getting the APC running he would've states how impossible it was for Joseph to do such a thing.
His brother could never do that.
"Saving him, Grace, is because the man who got him is a psychopath. Worse than Joseph, so I hear. Besides, wouldn't hurt getting two sides to fight together under the same cause does it?.." Of course he'd never admit why he's doing it as he begins walking with the Deputy. "Might as well keep up, 'less you're having second thoughts."
A shrug from Miller, a grin as he messes with Myriam's hair with his own free hand. "Well. Bein' in the Army changes a man... Can be fuckin' scary t'someone else but sweet t'another... Like me. Or, clearly, the people he cares 'bout. I'm sure ye'll get used t'this version'a Jacob like I have an' realise this is how he really is."
There's a rumble from the garage, the APC is pulled out of it. "Oliver you nearly BROKE IT! Seriously we've done this five times over on how to run it!" Jacob's getting out of the APC, standing in front of Oliver. Then a sigh as he messes with the Chosen's hair through the hood. "A'ight, take a break. I'll be back. Y'wanna drive then get in b'fore the others get in."
Going to the back of the APC he pulls the doors open then whistles, signalling that it was time to start getting in it and leaving.
Ambrose didn’t flinch at Jacob’s or anyone else’s reactions to his sudden appearance. But he did smirk. Just the littlest bit of his fangs showing so that only Jacob could see.
He was amused at the fact that he managed to startle the eldest Seed at all. “What? I figured you’d be cool with me doing that, since I could’ve sworn I’ve seen Joseph Blink to another location.”
Grace stayed close to Jerome. She already hated the idea of being anywhere near here, thanks to Jacob’s takeover of the place. But, she trusted the Deputy’s judgement to be here and fight side by side this rather hectic group. Even if she didn’t agree with them entirely.
Meanwhile Myriam slowly shook their head at the Malachai. Acting as the support her cousin needed to stand and walk. They’d even carry him, if he needed that kind of help. “This remind you of your military days, Snipe?”
Then they looked at Jacob. “Couldn’t get Sharky to come. He didn’t exactly like the idea of helping you or Joseph.”

Really tried of "SJM killed Nehemia off because she is racist"
This has always been the dumbest argument to me, if you've only read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight, sure, but if you've read at least one whole SJM serial you would know that it's bullshit.
Do you know what's the thing she does amazingly, she writes people of color like any other character. Race does not play any role at all in her books.
Character sacrificing themselves for their friend (or as people simply say being killed off):
Nehemia - dark brown-skinned woman
Asterin - light-skinned woman
Woman with a preference for women:
Hasar - brown-skinned woman
Mor - light-skinned woman
First love interest:
Hunt - brown-skinned man
Tamlin - light-skinned man
Woman that saved the whole freaking world:
Yrene - brown-skinned woman
Aelin - light-skinned woman
Heroine:
Bryce - brown-skinned woman
Feyre - light-skinned woman
Characters that struggle with their self-worth:
Cassian - brown-skinned character
Elide - light-skinned character
Bisexual man:
Helion - dark brown-skinned man
Aedion - light-skinned man
Gay man:
Thesan - brown-skinned man
Darrow - light-skinned man
Ruler of the country:
Tarquin - brown-skinned man
Kallias - light-skinned man
Strong male character that appeared like an asshole at first but is good deep down:
Lorcan - dark-skinned man
Eris - light-skinned man
Man with a physical disability:
Chaol - light-skinned man (he is not exactly light as in pale but he is closer to a white man than a black man)
Lucien - brown-skinned man
SA survivor:
Rhysand - brown-skinned character
Gwyn - light-skinned character
Horribly abused by a parent/caretaker
Azriel - brown-skinned character
Manon - light-skinned character
S*xist asshole:
Devlon - brown-skinned man
Beron - light-skinned man
I could go on and on... You don't have to like her writing but calling her racist makes no sense.
Also I've seen people complain of her using the word "tanned" and I wanted to touch on that subject for a sec.
Guys, there are 100+ skin tones.
First of all, sun-tan and natural tan are NOT the same things, people are not exclusively ghostly pale or the darkest shade of brown.
People tend to assume, idk why honestly, that she uses "tan" for every character that is not pale. She described various characters with different variants of saying they have darker skin:
Rowan and Dorian - tanned
Thesan and Varian - brown
Kaltain and Nehemia - creamy brown
Drakon and Myriam- honey-brown
Yrene and batboys - golden brown
Helion and Ghislaine - dark brown

3,9 and 15 for the ask thing please? :D
3) How do you prefer to play the game? (Legacy challenge? Rotational? Just for picture taking/storytelling, etc?)
I tried everything. Legacy challenge, rotational, storytelling and to me, storytelling isn't playing at all ^^" When I really play though, I usually like to create a family to discover a pack (or just one random sims to play with). I'm mostly fully storytelling this year but I also been doing some makeovers on a new save. I'd like to makeover all the premade and then start to play like I used to with different family, all connected to each other in a way. I love to play that way so my sims have friends and also their kids as well, then you can bring the drama when teenagehood comes and solve it when they're adult ^^ Answering this actually makes me want to play now haha
9) How often do you play the sims and for how long?
Depends on what you call play. If it's really just playing and enjoying the game then maybe a month or two each year when I take a break. If it's for storytelling/edit/blog stuff then at least twice or 3 times a week for sure. Somedays it can be several time a day though if I'm really into it or the game is being weird.
If I play, it usually is in the evening after eating (I let my game load while I cook and eat because it takes forever). I love to watch a show or movie while playing, so I usually play around 1h or 2 depending on the quality of the movie/tv show and also the game to load and my sims to do everything.
15) Do you edit your sims kids after they age up or leave them as they are?
I usually have to edit them sadly ^^" for instance, Chester and Soso have a young girl called Myriam but I had to edit her because she totally didn't look like her parents at all ! see for yourself
We probably see her on DH one day but not until a long time. I actually didn't see her birth because the game decided to not let Soso be pregnant ... But she's super cute with an angel trait. I can't wait to see her help cooking and gardening !
Thanks a lot for the asks Rose ♥
#answered ask#gameplay tag#thanks a lot for asking :)#Myriam is so cute#I have to save her for DH#Soso and Chester faces XD#like both of them suspected something went wrong here#but now she looks more like them
