Notre rendez-vous du mois!

Hello mes papivores 2.0, et bienvenue à notre rendez-vous du mois qui s'annonce riche en émotions comme le premier. Aujourd'hui, je vous garde dans le même univers que mon précédent article, mais celui ci est un peu plus je dirais … GLAUQUE! L'écrivaine Louise Mey, auteure engagée au style on ne peut plus percutant, sait nous captiver, nous lecteurs dès les premières pages. Et ce que j'adore par dessus tout avec cette grande dame bourrée de talents c'est le fait que la plupart de ses thèmes repose sur des sujets sensibles et d'actualité, tels que les féminicides, les manipulations psychologiques, les secrets de famille et les injustices sociales.

C'est exactement dans un thème comme ceux suscités que je me suis plongée récemment. Laissez vous submerger d'émotions (je vous promets très débordantes), dans ce thriller psycho dramatique de Louise Mey: LA DEUXIEME FEMME .

Le PITCH d'abord!

Sandrine a tout pour être heureuse : un mari aimant, deux enfants magnifiques, une vie paisible. Mais un jour, tout bascule. Son mari, Thomas, lui annonce qu'il a retrouvé son ex-femme, Clara, disparue depuis des années. Sandrine se retrouve alors en proie à un sentiment de jalousie et de peur qui va crescendo. Qui est vraiment Clara ? Que veut-elle ? Sandrine est-elle en danger ?

Mon avis, toujours HUMBLEMENT!

Louise Mey sait d'habitude comment tenir son lecteur en haleine. Dès les premières pages, on est happé par l'intrigue et on a du mal à lâcher le livre. L'auteure distille savamment les indices et les rebondissements, nous menant sur de fausses pistes et nous surprenant jusqu'au dénouement final. Par contre dans ce thriller, j'ai eu beaucoup de mal aux premières pages qui ennuyaient très vite et qui ont bien failli me faire laisser tomber ce livre (heureusement que non!). On nous présente Sandrine, jeune femme ordinaire envahie de complexes (sentiment normal je vous assure!), essayant de vivre sa vie paisiblement. Son univers bascule quand son mari Thomas (attention à tous les "Thomas" de votre entourage après ça!) lui annonce qu'il a retrouvé son ex femme auparavant mystérieusement disparue… Le retour de Clara (personnage très atypique), l'ex-femme de son mari, agit comme un tremblement de terre, ravivant des blessures enfouies et semant le doute et la peur dans son esprit. Le roman explore avec profondeur les sentiments complexes de Sandrine, tiraillée entre la jalousie, la colère et l'espoir de sauver son mariage. Sa confrontation avec Clara est électrique, chaque mot résonnant comme un coup de poignard dans une atmosphère de tension palpable.

La Deuxième Femme n'est pas seulement un thriller psychologique, mais également un récit poignant sur la place des femmes dans la société. Louise Mey met en lumière les injustices et les violences auxquelles elles sont confrontées, soulignant la douleur et la solitude ressenties par celles qui se retrouvent dans l'ombre d'une autre femme. C'est un livre poignant et bouleversant qui ne se résume pas à une simple intrigue policière. Il nous confronte à la complexité des relations humaines et aux répercussions profondes de nos choix. Un récit qui m'a profondément marquée et qui m'a amenée à réfléchir sur la force et la résilience des femmes face à l'adversité. Ce qui rend ce livre particulier est le partage incroyable de sentiments que l'on peu avoir avec Sandrine: l'insécurité, la peur à chaque fois que son mari rentrait du travail, la douleur des coups qu'elle recevait, l'humiliation servie par Thomas et surtout la RAGE de vaincre et de se sortir de là une fois le déclic eu… La fois de trop! Attention, les violences psychologique et physique peuvent être difficiles à lire pour certains.

J'ai clairement savouré avec amertume (pour être honnête) ce livre et je le recommande à tous les lecteurs qui recherchent un roman intense et poignant, les amateurs de thrillers psychologiques et les personnes sensibles aux questions de société et aux violences faites aux femmes.

Even though #1 seems less than 2 as far as extras go, Cradle is still on the top of my list for game construction, as you can strategize how to build your city. Cradle of Rome online. Cradle of Rome (released in some regions as Jewel Master: Cradle of Rome) is the first in a series of tile-matchingpuzzle and strategyvideo games developed by German studio cerasus.media and published by D3 Publisher on November 18, 2008 for the Nintendo DShandheld game console. The Wii version was released on March 31, 2009. The game has been brought to Steam since 2007.

The game was originally created for Windows by Awem studio from Belarus as a casual game. It has been followed by a variety of Cradle/Jewel Master games including Cradle of Athena, Cradle of Egypt and Cradle of Persia.

Gameplay(edit)

The main screen of Cradle of Rome

The gameplay is similar to that of Bejeweled; the player must flip jewels/resources on a playing field to create matches of at least three items of the same type. As matches are formed, reserves of resources such as grain and wood are built up, which are used towards building the Roman Empire.(1) Between rounds, resources can be spent on farms, taverns and other buildings to cultivate the commonwealth. The goal of each round is to form matches on blue tiles to clear them from the screen. Obstacles increase the game's difficulty; they include locked gems/resources, which cannot be switched until a match is made to unlock them. Each round also has a time limit, which is represented by a slowly emptying vase of water on the top screen. To help the player, several power-ups can be acquired, such as a hammer that can destroy any tile on the field. The game progresses with new types of gems and resources being unlocked at every new building built in Rome. Some buildings provide an extra bonus citizen with in-game bonuses if the player plays skillfully with the particular resource unlocked from that building.(1)

Reception(edit)

Cradle of Rome was given a mixed reception by video game critics, and it received an aggregated score of 63% at Metacritic.(2)IGN was disappointed with the game, noting that the game's manual did not adequately explain how the game worked. They also found that its electronic soundtrack did not fit the game's Roman theme. Their review gave the game a score of 5.9 of 10 and suggested that players purchase better alternatives such as The Quest Trio, stating, 'It's another match-three game. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's been done better before.'(1)Game Informer gave it a 6.75 with the subheading 'MORE LIKE CRADLE OF BORING' in Game Informer Issue 189 January 2009.

This game was intended to be a casual game and many websites hosted and are currently the game as 'play online for free' - Rome Puzzle version.
