Bucky Barnes x Pregnant!Reader

Summary:  You are rescued by a stranger, when Hydra tries to adduct you in the street.

“My name is James,”  the dark-haired man said softly as he crouched near you.  “But you can call me Bucky.  Can you stand?”  He smiled kindly and offered his hand.  You stood slowly with his help and placed a hand on your lower back.

“You two okay?”  Bucky asked, looking down at your belly and then moving over to a window when he heard something.  Your other hand went to the lowest part of your belly, wincing as you felt a cramp.  You didn’t know how long you had been asleep and knew you had to pee and should have something to drink before you got dehydrated in this heat.

“I need to pee, what is going on?”  You pried, remembering what had happened in the street when you saw that Bucky had a gun tucked in his waistband.

“You’ve been targeted by Hydra,”  Bucky answered stiffly.

“Hydra?”  you cried.  The idea that Nazis were after you for some reason terrified you.  Bucky rushed over and placed a hand over your mouth.

“Keep quiet.  They aren't too far,”  Bucky shushed as you nodded. "We’re gonna escape through that door,”  he pointed.  “We’ll go into one of the pizzerias.  You can use the bathroom there and we’ll get a slice to blend in.”

“Won’t they see or follow us?”  you asked though your stomach rumbled at that moment to remind you that you were hungry as well.  “Nevermind, I’ll take that chance,”  you waved your hand in dismissal of your earlier question.

Bucky put his hand around your back again to help you crouch, and you realized at that moment that his arm was metal.  You made a note to ask him about that later.  Then, the two of you were making your way out of the warehouse and blending back into the crowd.

“How long have I been asleep for?”  You questioned, realizing that it had been early afternoon when he had rescued you at the fruit stand but it was nighttime now.

“A few hours.  You needed the sleep and they didn’t seem to know we were in the warehouse then.”  Bucky answered as he held you close to his side.  To a random onlooker, you assumed you looked like an average couple.  

The two of you walked the short distance to the Cafe del Mar, a bustling little pizzeria on the water.

“Alright, do your thing and try not to take too long.  I’ll get us some food, and we will try to get a room in the hotel around the corner,”  Bucky whispered.  You nodded, moving as quickly as you could.

You sighed when you found that the bathroom was empty and locked the door behind you.  In the silence, fear and doubt took over.  You didn’t know Bucky and trusting him was risky.  Maybe this whole thing was a ruse by Hydra to get you alone.  

Was Hydra even still around?  Weren’t they destroyed by Captain America?

“I need water,”  You said out loud.  Your head hurt, and your belly was still tight.  You splashed some water on your face then walked out the door and into a person.

“Been looking for you,”  the tall man from the market said.  “For someone cute like you, you’re a pain in the ass.”

“Bucky!”  you screamed as you tried to rush past him.
