My favourite place in the world is the Elora Gorge. I lived just outside it with my mum for the first year of my life, and a piece of my heart still lives there. The area is beautiful and is a common place for Mennonites and English people alike. The entire park is an explosion of the beauty of nature and is the best place I have been for photography, hiking, and just being outside. The one thing that I will always hold dear to me, though, is river walking with my dad.

My dad has introduced me to so much and constantly challenges my sense of adventure. Ever since I was steady enough on my feet, he would take me down into the gorge and we would walk together in the rocky, running water for hours. It was there with him that I discovered my love of nature, science, and being at one with the world. As a student in my last year of high school and an aspiring musician, I never have as much time to spend with him as I would like, but the gorge is the one place I know we will always share. I have yet to find a place as beautiful and as special to me as this one, and I will remember it for the rest of my life.
