Your birthday being the day after mine has always been a huge point of pride to me, and even before I knew that...I felt this OTHERWORLDLY connection to your band and your music...to say that #mychemicalromancesavedmylife might sound cliche to some people...but you honestly did...I was a really fucked up kid, who was sad and alone and ANGRY, and you made me feel human and understood when no one else could...and it still means the world to me to this day...on May 9th 2009 you told a crowd of people, including me, you told the MCRmy “I don’t care if we never play another show again, I need you guys to just keep yourselves alive.” And that may be part of why I did 😭🙌🏽💫💝Happy birthday @gerardway I am so thankful for you and so thankful we get to keep experiencing your artistic brilliance with the umbrella academy.
