The doctor from my surgical team was just in. She said if I continue to drink and eat without any problems I will be going home today. I think I fell asleep sometime at or around 2:00 a.m. and I slept pretty well. You can only get so much sleep here because they are in every few hours to check vitals and plus I'm still on IV antibiotics so I had a dose of that throughout the night. Unfortunately I am still needing pain meds every 6 to 8 hours which I was hoping I would be done with by now. I will keep everyone posted. My nurses and techs have been absolutely amazing. I'm not saying that my fear and anxiety is 100% gone but it has definitely improved. The whole situation with COVID last year and the restrictions, the guidelines, having to keep the door to the room shut and nobody being able to visit really made an impact I think on everyone.
