You're an old friend of Sam's and now you're back in the Valley after six years away, moving around with your Mum.

It had been a long time since you'd been in the Valley. Six years in fact now here you were walking into a high school full of people you had once known but now didn't. You had almost no confidence as you walked down the halls clutching your chemistry book to your chest.

"Hey y/n when did you get back?" Sam stood in front of me her face plastered with a smile. You recognised her straight away.

"Oh um about two weeks ago." You answer. You walked together to home room, luckily for you she had most of the same classes as you. You had been close friends with Sam and Aishea before you moved away, at this point she was all you knew.

In the class room she introduced you to her group of friends. Mostly boys, one was her boyfriend and one had a mohawk. His sweet smile caught your eye, though it quickly turned to a cocky smirk.

You slipped into the group easily, joining in with their conversations as if you'd always been there. The vast amount of moving around had taught you to learn human patterns fast. Never leaving you out of any loop you found yourself in.

The guy with the mohawk had math with you before lunch so he made sure to walk beside you to the cafeteria. You enjoyed his silly jokes that he shared with you, though it jarred you when he so swiftly changed his behaviour once around the group. He was cocky and almost rude to other people. You saw how some other kids looked at him. Scared almost. Had you read him wrong? Was he a bully? Sam had introduced him to me as Hawk though later told me his real name was Eli. I liked his real name better than his nickname.

When school finished they invited you hang out with them at the weekend.

"Oh, y/n, do you still do karate?" Sam asked suddenly.

"Kinda, mostly just by myself. I haven't been to a dojo in, well since I left here." You replied.

"My dad opened miyagi-do up again. You should come, we're all in it." Sam said.

"Oh yeah, sounds good, I might be a bit rusty."

"We'll work out the kinks, don't worry." Hawk winked at you.

Everyone laughed before saying bye. Sam took your phone number so she could text you the dojo address. You smiled then went over to your bike, Hawk was also climbing onto his amd you wondered how he fit the mohawk into his helmet.

"Thats your bike?" He asked looking at the easy rider beside you.

"Well technically my dad's but he can't be bothered to stick around so its mine now." You say before sliding your own helmet on a d sliding the visor closed. You knew he watched you as you pulled out of the space and out of the parking lot. .

You managed to eat a few pop tarts before slipping into your gym clothes and riding your motorbike to the dojo. You parked up beside some vintage cars, admiring them for a moment.

"Hey, you came?" A voice said behind you. You turned to see the purple mohawk walking up to you.

"Yeah, thought I'd see if you're any good."

"Oh I'm good, princess. You any good?" He was grinning again.

"Ask your sensie." You reply with your own smirk, turning on your heel and walking to the dojo.

The lesson went well, Sensie LaRusso greeted you into the class cheerfully, Sensie Lawrence however gave you an annoyed glance. You didn't understand why. At first you didn't take part, opting to watch the class. Your eyes couldn't help but wonder between the students, lingering on Hawk. He had removed his Gi top, having grown hot under the bright sunlight and exercise. Eventually you worked alongside Sam refreshing your old skills till the lesson ended.

The group of friends milled around the parking lot for a minutes after the lesson, people filtering off slowly. Sam's boyfriend went home with Sensie Lawrence, and Sam with her dad. Once again you found yourself stood with Hawk beside your bikes.

"You got plans for tonight?" He asked.

"Nope, mum's working till late so just me the microwave." You reply.

"No way, let me take you out. I'll buy you dinner." Hawk insisted. Something about this guy captivated you so you agreed, though you wanted a shower first. Hawk was cool with that and said he'd pick you up in an hour. You drove home faster than you should have excited to be making actual friends again.

Part 1

Part 2

You are sat in Hawk's car in the school parking lot. He had already got put gone over to your friends. Sam sent worried looks over to you, he had definitely told them what happened. You felt so embarrassed. Hawk came back and opened your door.

"Come on, its time to go in." He said softly. You nod and follow him letting him hold on to your hand. Sam gave you a sad smile.

"You wanna stay at mine for a while?" She asked. You nodded. You didn't want this, didn't want to be the centre of attention or for people to feel sorry for you.

Classes took over and third period had you separated from the group. Who kept quiet electing to sit at the back of the room. Unfortunately you weren't able to stay hidden. The guy from the diner had spotted you and made a b-line crouching beside you.

"Well hello sweetheart, you should reconsider my offer from, whow what happened to your face!? He laughed. Was that Hawk? I've heard he likes to smack girls around. Probably why his ex likes girls now Right Moon!?" He was loud enough for the whole class to have looked round at you both. You made brief eye contact with the girl called Moon. She looked at you with pitty in her eyes.

"It wasn't Hawk." You said trying not to cry. Kyler didn't stop, he continued to poke fun at you until the teacher came in and put a stop to it. When the class ended you sped out of the room and darted to the lunch room as fast as you could where you met with Hawk and Miguel.

"Hey what's wrong?" Hawk asked.

"Nothing, just been a long day." You lie, happy that the rest of the friends had arrived and had you hidden amongst them.

After school you decided to get the bus home before Hawk could offer to take you. You knew your step dad would be at work so you could go in and grab a bag of clothes before going to Sam's house. Still you found yourself creeping around the house. You didn't have much in the way of clothes so they all fit in your duffle bag easily. You crammed your tooth brush, toiletries and phone charger in there. The only other thing you took was a poster of the 80s rock band Aerosmith. You didn't want anything else from that house.

You sighed when you remembered your bike was at the dojo. You'd have to take your old skateboard. It was on the opposite side of town and took you almost two hours to get there. You were surprised to see the gates open but no one around. You felt nervous, as if someone was watching you. As you tied your duffle bag to your bike you kept glancing around yourself. When you were done you decided to pop inside the dojo and grab a drink before going to Sam's. The gatoraid was refreshing and you savoured it until your body hit the ground.

Hawks POV

Hawk was sat o his bed reading a comic when his phone pinged it was the myagi-do group chat.

SAM: hey anyone heard from y/n? She was supposed to come over tonight but I've not heard anything!

Miguel: no sorry.

Hawk : where did she go after school? I thought she was with you!

Sam: no she wanted to get some stuff from her house.

Hawk got of his bed. Panic sending adrenaline through his body.

Hawk: she left her bike at the dojo ill check there. Watch out for her stepdad.

Sam: I'll meet you there.

Hawk jumped on his bike, wanting to get there as fast as possible. Pulling into the parking lot he knew something was wrong. His heart was racing as he entered the main building. He flicked on the light seeing you on the ground, blood splattered on the ground. He dropped down next to you pulling you i to his arms. Hearing the pained groan that left you eased him slightly. You were alive. Sam and her dad rushed in. Hawk looked up at them.

"Call an ambulance. " he said.

It was time for the school prom, Mr LaRusso had given you some money to buy a dress. He kept telling you that your mother had sent it but you knew it was a lie. She hadn't returned your calls since Arthur's arrest.

You and Sam had gone shopping together, she easily found the pink dress she loved but for you it was harder. Fashion was definitely not your thing.

"I just want something black." You said with a sigh.

"Come on I think I know just the place." Sam giggled dragging you to far end of the mall. The shop you entered was small and dimmly lit, yet you knew instantly you would find something. There it was on a dummy staring at you. A black dress about knee length with a single purple stripe going diagonally down the front. The neck line curved around the breast and flowed onto an off the shoulder strap.

It only cost half of what Danny had given you so chose to buy a new pair of shoes to match.

Sam had done your hair for you, bringing it to the side and clipping it with a black flower.

You thanked her and slipped out of the house before Miguel's family arrived and took photos.

Wearing a dress on a motorbike was not easy but you made it to the school and walked inside. Demetri and Eli were sat together at a table and you walked over.

"Hi boys!" You said, they both looked round at you. Eli looked down at your dress a sad expression crossed his face before he hid it again.

"You look amazing!" Demetri complimented you.

"Thanks you too." It had been nice getting to know him over the last school year. You finally felt as if you belonged somewhere. A lot of that had been because of Sam and Hawk, sorry Eli. It wasn't long before the rest of your friends arrived. You tried a few times to get Eli to dance with you, even when everyone else was on the dance floor, he would just shake his head. Demetri's girlfriend appeared having flown back to see him for prom, so it was only the two of you left at the table.

"Hey, last chance you wanna dance with me?" You ask.

"No y/n I don't want to dance with you. Just leave me alone." He all but growled the words. Feeling utterly dejected you slid off your chair and walked away. You had heard an after party was going to happen so you got the address off Bert and made your way there. You didn't care that you were the first there. You just walked in said an awkward hello the guys whose house it was. He was in his 30s so it was a bit weird and he told you he was part of Cobra Kai. You didn't care, you just wanted to get drunk. You grabbed a bottle cheap vodka and a few beers before walking out into the yard, finding yourself a dark spot near the pool. You decided to start on the vodka, flicking the lid away and taking gulps of it between sips of the beer. By the time other teens started filtering in you already had a pretty nice buzz going.

Sam found you.

"Hey you disappeared, we were worried."

"Oh yeah sorry I guess it was just a bit much for me. Never been to a school dance before." You lied hoping she'd leave you alone. She did after a shirt while and you returned to your drinking.

You watched as Sam and Miguel had a fight with Robby and Tory, ending up with them all in the pool. You laughed at them, as you walked past making your way back into the house for more alcohol. You watched as Demetri disappeared upstairs with Yasmine leaving Eli on the couch. Part of you wanted to go over to him, but he had hurt you so you grabbed some more beer and walked away. You had caught his eye though so he followed you into the yard.

"Hey y/n, where have you been?" He called after you.

"Why do you care?" You asked not bothering to look back at him.

"Y/n, stop a minute." He grabbed your arm, you thought about hitting him, instead you just pulled your arm out of his grasp.

"Why? You didn't want to know me at the dance, why now?" You said.

"I'm sorry, I just, I'm confused." He stuttered.

He wasn't acting like the Hawk you knew, it worried you.

"Okay, well you're allowed to be confused. I'm just going to-" your phone rang. Annoyed you pulled it out of your bag clicking it off without looking at the caller ID

"You turned up in this dress and you look amazing but it shook me!" Eli said, his chest rising and falling fast. Your phone rang again. This time you looked at the screen. It was the Lawyer from the case against arthur. You also had 5 missed calls from Danny.

You answered.

"Miss y/l/n, sorry to call you so late but you need to know this! Arthur has escaped prison. A team are out tracking him, we need you to get home and keep safe immediately."

"Sure." You replied a numbness creeping over you. "I'll go now." You clicked your phone off.

"What's wrong?" Eli asked.

"I need to go home but I'm too drunk." Tears had begun to fall down your face. Eli tried to hold your hand but you pulled away, wrapping your arms around your body.

"I can take you. Come on." You didn't want to go anywhere with him but you knew it was for the best. You followed him through the crowd, your eyes darting around at every person. Your body was waiting for Arthur to appear. In front of you Eli pulled his own cell out, reading the messages, he glanced back at you. The beer blanket you had moments before had gone and the cold air hit you when you walked out the front door.

You slid into Eli's car, buckling the belt across you. He drove out.

"Its okay y/n don't panic, I'll look after you till we get to the LaRusso's."

You didn't say anything, fear had dried out your mouth.

Much to Eli's annoyance his car broke down, and wouldn't start. Your breathing began to sped up. He was dialling his phone, you didn't hear the conversation, you were trying to concentrate on his hand on your knee. Though you were convinced Arthur would appear at any moment and drag you out of the car.

"Eli? Eli, am I..." he turned to fully face you. "Am I going to die?" You aren't sure where the question came from but you needed it answered.

"You're not going to die y/n. Look at me I'll keep you safe, okay!?"

You nod.

Your lawyer told you they didn't find Arthur, but he has left a trail. It wouldn't be long till they find him. You felt like you could relax a little bit, though you had decided to stay at Johnny's for a few days more. That was until Sam convinced you to come back to the LaRusso's place. It did have a few more creature comforts than Johnny's.

At last the All Valley Tornament was starting. You watched from the crowd as the dojos filtered onto the arena. Cobra kai were abnocious as ever in their black and yellow Gis, then Eagle fang came put in their bright red ones. You had to admit they were pretty cool. Myagi-do came out in classic white and you laughed to yourself, nothing changes with Daniel LaRusso. Hawk was with them, you looked at him and sighed sadly. He had stopped texting you, and hardly replied on the group chat. You admitted only to yourself that you missed him, yet he had hurt your feelings. He looked up into the crowd stopping when he saw Moon, a girl from school and his ex. He smiled at her and winked. You felt your heart hurt. You sat quietly during the first set of rounds watching as the teams progressed through the day. Finally it was the match between Eli and Kyler. You could see when Kyler walked past with his team, they definitely said something bad as it was clear by Eli's face. You wondered if you should go down and see him but someone else got there first. Moon walked up to him, they spoke for a moment and then she kissed him. Your heart broke. You watched as Eli transformed in to Hawk, all his confidence coming back to him. You couldn't do it any more so you got up and made your way back through the crowd leaving the tournament building.

Inside nobody noticed you leave. Hawk won his match, in fact he won the boys championship.

No one noticed as you walked outside into the slowly darkening evening.

Nobody would notice your bike still in the parking lot.

No one noticed the man following you.

No one saw you being bundled into the back of a van.

No one came to save you.

The last voice you heard before blacking out was Arthur's, growling in your ear.

Johnny Lawrence was stood in the LaRusso house with his girlfriend Carman amd Sam's parents.

"Look I can take her to mine. He knows you have her so he won't think of coming for me." He stated his hands on hips.

"Its a good idea Danny." Amanda said, "I'll get her somethings."

Just as Amanda walked away Sam received a call. It was Eli asking to speak to her dad.

"The car has died, can some one come get us? We're on 5th."

Johnny was already out the door, jumping in his car. Carman would bring Miguel and y/n's bag to Johnny's apartment. Johnny drove like a mad man desperate to get to you and Eli. He had been thrown off by your presence at first. You looked so much like her. He had known your mum a long time ago. His first girlfriend after Ali and he had been so in love with her, but that had quickly faded away once he began to get to know you. In fact he had grown fond of you. He didn't care that you didn't do karate, he enjoyed it when you came to class and heckled the boys about their bad posture.

He pulled round on to 5th street and saw Hawk's car and pulled up alongside it. He could see you inside the car, your knees pulled up to your chest. He made sure Hawk could see him before he made any noise. He had seen you that day in the miyagi-dojo, he knew he needed to use some caution. He watched as Hawk said something to you and you turned to him. He gave you a sad smile and came closer, opening your door.

"Hey, come on you're coming back to mine." You nodded and let him help you out of the car across to his. Hawk went to follow you.

"Stay with your car Eli." You said not looking back at him.

"Y/n!"

"No." You said again.

Johnny turned back to his student.

"She doesn't want you come, man. LaRusso has sent a tow." He said. Hawk looked between you and Johnny but said nothing. You sat in the passenger seat of Johnny's car and kept your eyes on your knees as he drove away.

You didn't sleep that night, just sat on the spare bed with a blanket drapped over you as you kept checking your phone for updates. At least once an hour you'd get a message from Hawk asking if you were okay, you ignored them all. You don't know why he effected you so much. His rebuffle at the prom had hurt you and his excuses, well you didn't have time to think about those. Around 2 am you decided you'd try and get some sleep so you slid yourself down, a ding on your phone stopped you. You didn't recognise the number.

#: hey, you probably don't want to talk to me, I mean your right hook did a lot of talking, I have some info about your stepdad. Sam won't listen to me. Please come meet me tomorrow at the skatepark. Robby.

You copied the message and sent it to the group chat.

Meguel: No way!

Hawk: you're not going!

Sam: I told him to leave us alone.

You: i should at least hear him out right?

Hawk: NO! Y/n don't do it.

Meguel: not alone.

Sam: Meguel!

Demetri: no, he's right, y/n is gunna go no matter what we say, she isn't in our dojos so they can attack her and it doesn't go against Silver's deal.

Bert: he's right you know.

Meguel: we'll go with you Y/n.

You: thank you.

Hawk: I don't like it

You: you don't have to.

That was when you got a private message.

Sam: what's going on with you and Hawk?

She asked.

You: nothing, nothing is going on. He doesn't like me unless he can be a hero.

You shot off a message to Robby telling him to meet you tomorrow at 12 and told the group chat about the meet time before shutting your phone off and ignoring the six texts and two calls from Eli.

In the morning you heard Johnny moving around in the living room. You pulled yourself out of bed and got dressed.

Going out to see him. He handed you a couple of asprins and a bottle of water. "You smelt pretty strong of vodka last night so figured you'd need this." He said with a slight grin. You smiled back.

"You got plans for today? If you haven't you can hang with me." He asked awkwardly.

"Its okay, I'm going to meet the guys. They'll look after me today. Thank you for last night though." You answered.

"Yeah, listen, we think its best you stay here for a while, just till they get him."

"Thank you Mr Lawrence."

He drove you round to Demetri's house.

It wasn't long before everyone had arrived and you all headed out to the skatepark. Hawk held back to walk beside you.

"Stay close to me today okay." He said quietly.

"No, thanks, I'll stick close my friends."

"What am I?"

"Muscle." You said cold, moving away from him and sliding yourself between Sam and Meguel. Hawk lowered his eyes, and ran his hand over his shaven hair.

Robby was already at the park, he had his skateboard in front of him but he wasn't skating, there was a sad sort of look on his face. You told the others to stay by the side and walked up to him. He looked up at you.

"Hey." He spotted your gathered friends.

"I don't blame you for that, but you kicked my ass remeber." He laughed.

"We aren't friends. Just tell me what you know!" You said.

"I don't know much but I heard Kreese and Silver talking. I think they know where he is."

"How do they know him?"

"They talked about looking after family. I think your stepdad was a cobra Kai. Look I can't be sure but they might be holding him up at the Y."

"Why didn't you just call the police?" You asked.

"It can't come for me. If they find out it was me, but this I can just say we met here by accident."

You glanced back at your friends.

"You're not all bad, Robby. Thanks."

He blinked at you, and nodded. It got awkward so you turned away from him returning to your friends.

Demetri was already on the phone calling Danny. They all decided it would be best if you all went to the dojo. The All Valley tournament was coming up and both Eagle fang and Miyagi-do needed to train. You did not want to be the reason they failed against Cobra Kai, especially with the deal that had been made. You noticed your bike in the parking lot and assumed Danny must have had it brought there from the party. You made a mental note to thank him later.

During the training you sat in the corner with your school books doing some home work, with your headphones on. You couldn't help but look up every so often and watch your friends. Just like you couldn't help but look at Eli occasionally. He would look back at you every time with sad eyes. The last time he looked your eyes met, his hand flew up to his hair again before he turned away from you.

Your phone rang beside you, your lawyer.
