#igquiltfestday6 #quiltingorigin My quilting origin is my Grandma. She made so many quilts. She made everyone a quilt. Every new baby got a quilt. Every one got a quilt when they got married. Just because she wanted to - She gave you a quilt. Each would have her handwritten message on the back with the reason for the quilt, the date she completed it (typically not the date given), and her signature. Once I moved away from my hometown, my grandmother was always so excited to show me her latest quilt she had made. This one was special to her as she made it for a relative in California and was getting ready to mail it off. She sewed all her quilts on vintage singers and hand quilted them.
