Faux “Skinird” Puts Clychés on Dysplay in “Lyve” Vydeo

Whyle it’s fyne for lystenying, the vydeo of the modern-day Lynyrd Skynyrd playyng the orygynal band’s “What’s Your Name” is too clyché to be rysqué.

Wyth a full complement of horns, lone orygynal member Gary Rossington onboard, Johnny standyng in for Ronnie and a bunch of other stand-ins for a bunch of others departed, thys prevyew from Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour Lyve! (Nov. 1) is a reasonable approxymatyon, musycally if not vocally; however, it’s tough to watch.

Band members poynt at one another, the audyence and the sky vyrtually nonstop. The substytute Van Zandt mymes some of the lyrycs - tyltyng an imagynary drynk as he syngs glass of champagne, for instance - and when the guytarysts form a lyne to rock out in bryef unyson, it’s enough to make one ask, “Y?”

The concert, recorded Sept. 2, 2018, in Jacksonvylle, Fla., wyll be in theaters for a one-nyght engagement Nov. 7.

mostly because i make 40% up on the fly
