New Year's Eve with a Stranger - Modern!Tommy Shelby (smut)

Summary: The reader planned to spend NYE on her own in another country, but when she crosses paths with a handsome stranger she can't help but give into the way she feels towards him.

She kept her eyes focused on the big window, sipping on her hot drink, barely sparing her surroundings any attention. It was still early in the morning, allowing (y/n) to watch the sun rise above the snow covered mountains, making a smile tug on her lips at the beautiful sight.

Yesterday she had found her way to this hotel, checking in with anticipation thumping through her veins, excited for a few days on her own, solo travelling a country she had always loved. And now, as she was eating breakfast in a quiet, cosy room, she felt all too comfortable, knowing that there were no meetings she’d have to attend, nothing but the plans she had made for herself.

“Is this seat taken?” A gruff voice ripped her out of her thoughts, forcing (y/n)’s eyes away from the big windows, focusing on the features of a handsome man. With a soft smile tugging on her lips, she murmured a quiet “No”, watching him sit down. “I hope you don’t mind the disturbance, but I didn’t want to miss out on this view.”

“Oh, don’t worry. I totally get it, it’s breathtaking.” She allowed herself to study the man for a few seconds as she took another sip. His piercingly bright eyes were hidden behind a pair of round glasses, his salt and pepper hair was slightly slicked to one side, exposing his side cut to her curious eyes. He was at least ten years older than her, but she couldn’t help but let her gaze flicker down to his hand, checking for a wedding ring, unable to find one.

“Have you been staying here for longer? I haven’t seen you at breakfast before.” (Y/n) tried to pinpoint his accent, wondering where he was from, and why he had found his way to this very place.

“No, I arrived yesterday. What about you, how long have you been staying here?” The man took a sip of his coffee, piercing eyes momentarily finding hers. A shudder ran down (y/n)’s spine at the intense gaze, wondering if he picked up on the attraction she oh so clearly felt for him, drawn closer without knowing a thing about the man.

“I come here every year, I enjoy the quietness this place offers. Is it your first time here?” An unfamiliar warmth flooded through her at the interest he seemed to find in their interaction, not used to being treated this kindly by a stranger.

“It is, but I am already in love with this place. Are there any things you’d recommend doing around here?” He pondered over her question for a few seconds, gaze focused on the pink and orange sky, painting a picture so beautiful (y/n) had to fight against the need to take a picture of it, holding onto the need to enjoy moments rather than pictures she took in these moments.

“Well, it depends on what you’re looking for, there are some museums you should visit, a few rather hidden book stores you’ll find in some alleys. If you want to, I can take you to some of my favourite ones.” (Y/n) couldn’t stop a surprised expression from tugging on her features, not expecting him to offer some of his time to her.

“I’d love that.”

Over the past hours (y/n) had learned that the handsome stranger is called Tommy, and that he lived in Birmingham, a city she had always wanted to visit. He had taken her to the history museum in the morning, followed by some coffee in a small store he seemed to frequent whenever he came to visit this town, already friends with the owner of the store.

He hadn’t done anything out of the ordinary, and yet he had won (y/n) over within the first few moments of meeting him. The way Tommy treated her was so unfamiliar to her, she wondered if he was real, filled with kindness, respect, and something glimmering in his eyes that filled her with excitement.

“Didn’t take you for a Dante fan, but I have to say, it fits.” Her whispers left Tommy laughing, thumping through the old copy of Dante’s Inferno he was currently holding in the hands (y/n) found herself staring at way too often. Even though (y/n) tried to focus on the endless rows of old books, her eyes were drawn back to Tommy’s frame at any given chance.

She tried to curse herself for being that interested in a stranger, and yet Tommy didn’t feel like a stranger, he had something familiar to him, something that left her wondering if they had crossed paths in another life. Whatever it was that left her feeling like that, (y/n) didn’t ever want to get rid of this feeling, clinging to it like it was her life vest, protecting her from drowning in uneasy waters she had been stuck in for the past weeks.

“Don’t tell this to anybody, but I can recite most parts of it by heart.” (Y/n) shook her head with a grin tugging on her lips, arms slowly crossing in front of her chest.

“Prove it.” A challenging look was thrown Tommy’s way, watching the man’s tongue kiss his teeth as he tried to stop a smirk from widening on his lips. He turned towards (y/n), leaning against the bookshelf with his hand still holding onto the old copy.

“Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost. Ah me! how hard a thing it is to say, what was this forest savage, rough, and stern, which in the very thought renews the fear. So bitter is it, death is little more; But of the good to treat, which there I found, speak will I of the other things I saw there.” With another laugh bubbling out of (y/n), Tommy stopped reciting, letting go of a laugh himself.

“I have to say, I’m impressed. Do you have any other talents I should know of?” He took a step closer, almost touching her, eyes not daring to break contact with hers once. Both were clearly aware of the buzzing atmosphere that engulfed them, wrapping itself around them.

“Many, but I’d rather you find out about them yourself instead of telling you about them.”

……

The next morning (y/n) found herself in the same spot she had sat in the day before, once again watching the sun rise as she ate breakfast. This time Tommy had joined her at the entrance of the room, pulling her in for a hug, allowing (y/n) to inhale the scent of his expensive cologne.

Their day together had flown by all too quickly, ending with a quick dinner before they had parted ways, leaving (y/n) with a heavy heart. She didn’t know what it was, but yet she had instantly missed him the second Tommy had left her side, promising to meet her again for breakfast the next morning.

“I have some meetings I can’t miss out on today, but if you want to, we can try to catch some auroras tonight.” The smile playing on Tommy’s lips left (y/n)’s heart skipping beats, already filled with excitement at the mere thought of spending some more time with him.

“Absolutely, wait, let me give you my number, so you can just call or text whenever you’re ready.” She was too focused on reaching for her phone to pick up on the warm smile settling on Tommy’s lips, watching the young woman fumble with her phone. There was something swimming in his pupils that was all too unfamiliar, even to Tommy himself, she was doing something to him he hadn’t ever felt before, not wanting to leave her behind for even a minute.

(Y/n) reached her phone out to Tommy, watching him add his contact as she finished her drink. Their fingers touched as he pushed the phone back towards (y/n), making shudders run down her spine like bolts of lighting striking her body.

“If we’re lucky we can catch a few before midnight, so we can come back before the fireworks.” (Y/n) had almost forgotten that today was new year’s eve, a day she had always disliked, not one for drinking, partying, and staying up for endless hours. With a smile shot Tommy’s way she murmured a soft “Sounds good”, hoping that today would be another day she’d remember for months on end.

The cold wind teased their limbs, wrapping itself around the two as they were sitting on a bench, cuddled into their jackets with their eyes focused on the dark sky. For the longest time it had been (y/n)’s dream to see the auroras dance on the night sky, green and blue stripes of light that almost drew tears to her eyes.

“Worth the wait, right?” Tommy’s soft voice broke the silence, momentarily forcing her eyes away from the sky. He was sitting close to her, arm touching hers, leaving her feeling all too comfortable around the man.

“Definitely. Thank you for taking me here.” Since her eyes wandered back to the sky, (y/n) didn’t pick up on the way Tommy’s eyes flickered down to her cold hands, giving himself a few seconds to overthink his next move before he slowly interlaced his fingers with hers. Her heart skipped a few beats at the touch, making heat rise in her system, eyes momentarily finding his piercing ones.

Both couldn’t stop their smiles from widening, holding onto one another as the auroras kept dancing in the sky. (Y/n) silently prayed that whoever was listening would freeze the moment, not wanting it to end just there and then, not ready to part from Tommy just yet.

“Do you have any new year’s resolutions?” Once her eyes were drawn back to Tommy’s features, studying the man as she thought about his question, a question she had never spared much attention, not believing in resolutions most would forget about after a week or two.

“No, not really. Sometimes I want to be a bit braver, do a few more things to get me out of my shell, take a few more risks. But that’s about it, what about you?” Her breath hitched in her chest as she watched his gaze flicker down to her lips, for just a second, a second (y/n) undoubtedly picked up on.

“What kind of risks?” (Y/n) didn’t understand what was guiding her body, urged on by the unfamiliar tone of Tommy’s voice, moving closer with her gaze set on his lips. The seconds blurring by felt like minutes, hours even, with her heart racing and her breaths stuttering. Would he pull away? Would he stop her from pressing her lips against his?

But Tommy didn’t pull away, one of his hands found her cold cheek, encouraging (y/n) to close the distance between them, softly kissing Tommy. The touch left her panting, not expecting the kiss to make her feel like this. She had never believed in these cheesy descriptions of clashing teeth, fireworks going off in the distance, but now, as Tommy kissed her breathless, taking over the kiss before she could even try to lead, (y/n) couldn’t help but feel just like other people had always described to her.

They didn’t part as Tommy pulled her into his lap, kissing her beneath the colourful night sky, making them feel as if they were reliving a scene from a movie. Neither of them wanted this moment to end, wanting to stay connected till the end of their time. But with shaking heads and aching lungs they eventually had to part, staring at one another with excitement and anticipation laced in their gazes.

“Take me back to the hotel, Tommy.”

She had her back arched off the bed, eyes squeezed shut, hands tugging on Tommy’s hair. The man was settled between her thighs, grinning against her naked skin as he ate her out. Tommy touched her as if they had done this numerous times before, careful enough to pick up on the wordless signs her body was throwing his way, though rough enough to let (y/n) choke on her gasps.

“Fuck, Tommy, feels so good, don’t stop, please.” His chuckles vibrated on her skin, leaving (y/n) whining as she tried to hold on, not wanting to give into the sensation just yet. His fingers fucked her fast, curling against her swollen spot whenever he got the chance to. She was putty in his hand, unable to do anything but give into the pull she felt.

Tommy could tell that she was close, about to fall over the edge with his name burning in the tip of her tongue, with her hands balled into fists, and with her lungs struggling to hold onto any air. He held some kind of magic over her, (y/n) had never felt before.

“Look at me, doll, keep those pretty eyes open for me.” These were the last words (y/n) managed to pick up on before she came. Tommy’s tongue kept lapping at her folds, guiding her through her high with a satisfied smile tugging on his lips. A few praises were murmured against her soft skin, fingers lazily fucking into her for a few more moments before he let go of her.

Within seconds Tommy was towering over her once again, lips caught in a heated kiss. They didn’t part ways as she helped him out of his shirt, nails scratching at his skin as he undid his trousers, needing to feel her naked body pressed against his.

“Are you sure you want this? You can always tell me to stop.” He murmured the words against her skin as he kissed his way down her throat, groaning as she wrapped her legs around his waist, pressing her naked cunt against his dark boxer shorts.

“Fuck me, Tommy.” He didn’t need to be told twice, letting go of her to free his cock, grinning as he felt her wide eyes taking in the sight of his twitching length. (Y/n) watched him roll a condom down his cock, aligning himself with her heat before he wrapped his hand around her throat, keeping (y/n) pressed against the mattress.

The eye contact both held was intense, and yet it had something awfully intimate to it, forcing her heart to skip even more beats. Tommy fucked her rough, not holding back as he added more and more speed to his thrusts, fingers tightening their grip around her throat. Her senses were heightened, wondering how far he’d take it with her, and yet she felt awfully safe with him around, knowing that he wouldn’t hurt her in a way she wouldn’t enjoy.

His lips met hers in an almost rushed kiss as he fucked her, hips meeting hers with every thrust. “You fit so perfectly around me, as if you were made for me.”

“Just for you, Tommy.” A moan left them in unison as her walls fluttered around him, wordlessly begging for more friction, needing to feel his fingers on her clit to give into the sensation threatening to claw through her. (Y/n) felt herself getting lost in his pupils, wide from the lust thumping through his veins, making them appear darker, more dangerous than the piercing colour she was used to.

Both were close to letting go, wordlessly communicating their every thought, knowing that there was no holding back. Tommy let go of her throat to sneak a hand between them, lifting himself to spit onto her pulsing bundle, rubbing her skin with his warm fingers.

With (y/n)’s fingernails clawed into his skin, she came, head thrown back, eyes squeezed shut. Tommy kept fucking her, thrusts perfectly positioned to prolonge the intense sensation. He watched her fall apart with a grin, unable to stop himself from kissing her again before he came, groaning against her mouth.

The sound of fireworks going off ripped them out of their trance, unable to stop laughing as their eyes found the window. Wordlessly they watched the colourful lights alight the sky, still connected with their hearts beating in sync.

“Happy new year, Tommy.” His eyes flickered back down to hers, lips meeting (y/n)’s swollen ones before he repeated her words with a grin glued to his features.

Eijiro Kirishima (mha) Headcanons

First off, thank you, everyone, for the warm reception of the "1 Hour in Tickle Hell" story! It's putting such a huge smile on my face, and right now, it's really helping.

But onto Kirishima! One of my absolute favorite lees, and as far as fandom versions of characters are concerned, also one of my faves. Insecure ball of sunshine is just my thing. Though I have a harder time writing him than many other characters, I wonder why. Oh, and while I'm at it, I see Kirishima as bi, though he'd never really crushed on a boy until he met Bakugo.

Now, for tickle headcanons: Kirishima enjoys tickling others and being tickled. When he was at UA, he was the resident tickle monster, and it was just a good time: you laugh, you make others laugh, you take Bakugo down a peg, you bond with shier classmates like Izuku, Ojiro, and Todoroki, and if they wanted revenge, so much the better! One of his biggest successes was turning it into a competition with Bakugo, and since Kirishima is completely unapologetic about being ticklish, he's the reigning champion, despite being pretty ticklish himself! And he may have tried to provoke Shoji multiple times, but Shoji never indulged him until he admitted exactly what he wanted.

He later realized that tickling, in a more intimate context, is a turn-on for him, both giving (but only to guys) and receiving (from anyoen and anything). It feels like both a challenge and a fun form of domination, and it makes him feel like his partner is happy, he just loves seeing that smile. Plus, it's an excuse to keep touching Bakugo all over, which, even several years into their relationship, he still can't get enough of, as he made himself fall in love with every single part of him.

Yep, Kirishima is pretty freaking ticklish, and while he really enjoys it, it limits how much tickling he can actually take, also causing him to lose tickle fights as he was trying to suppress his Quirk at the same time (and didn't really mind being on the losing end).

I admit there are many spots that may change in the future, but I am quite certain about what his top spots are.

Giggling (6-7): Kirishima's chest, abs, sides, back (which I forgot to add), and non-nos are all moderately ticklish, and three out of those four spots are erogenous (in a bedroom setting - not when he used to play around with his classmates), as any attention to his chest and abs feels like appreciation for the hard work he put into making his body what it is, a testament that he can be a stronger person. These are also some of th eonly spots where light tickles work about as well as harder tickles: lickles, vibrations, and especially metal claws, the latter can really destroy him and are effective everywhere.

Laughing (7.5-8.5): Spots that unfailingly cause Kirishima to laugh out loud when targeted. His laughter is energetic and loud, unsurprisingly, and can feel either obnoxious or contagious depending on your mood. His thighs are his third most ticklish spot, and yeah, being tickled there feels intimate and also like he's being praised for their thiccness, which is why he loves being tickled with fingers there (physical contact, yay!). His feet are also big and ticklish, so they can house a lot of ticklish implements at once. Oddly, the tops seem to be more sensitive than the bottoms!

Howling (9-10): One thing Kirishima has in common with Bakugo is that his ribcage is super sensitive, though he makes it a point to remind the blond that he's even more ticklish there. And his armpits... he likes being tickled there because it really pushes him to his limit, but he also can't stand being tickled there too long because the sensation is juts too intense. Light tickles work well on both spots, but harder ones will have him howling and go as red as his hair. Claws are nightmarish, yes, but a few minutes of backscratcher action on either of those spots, but especially his pits, will have him howling and incoherent. Unsurprisingly, his pits were a common target when he needed punishing, cheering up, or while he was working out at UA.

(friends tried 2 get me into it when i was younger via the anime but i did Not Wanna so this is actually my first real read of it) i just started tg:re, so i have been Dying to talk abt it with somebody.. if u dont mind, who are ur faves? :3

my number one fav and ofc the namesake of my url is urie <3 idk how far into :re you've gotten but i think he's like. the first to get introduced if im remembering correctly? but you might not get the vision Yet depending on how far you've read, but i just love an angry lil guy w daddy issues who cant express his emotions properly <3 no personal reasons for that at all.............his growth ends up being really nice too you'll see you'll see

another brand of character i like is the guy who can't stand coming in second in anything but always does, and has a one sided beef with the person who beats them every single time, so i also love takizawa. i don't wanna say too much abt him bc i don't wanna spoil the fun for you but he ends up having a really cool arc too

im realizing as i type this out most of my favs are either from :re alone, or get the majority of their development in :re im really trying to hold my tongue so bad rn,,,,,,,

idk if you've met saiko yet? she spends the entire first volume of :re asleep lmaoooo but she's great. i love how she's a character that stands for kindness in a world full of hate and different groups trying to kill each other all the time

recently i've come to appreciate eto more as well, i dont think i liked her much at first, but one of my tg mutuals is a big eto fan and i think that's helped me appreciate her more. also bc said mutual rbs all the posts i rb thinking "oh this post is so me" and adds the eto tag......okay maybe i am like her. also again with the daddy issues characters good lord pls pay that no mind,,,,,,,

cutting myself off after this one but i love both of the kirishima siblings :3 touka is so cool, and i love how her rough exterior hides how gentle and emotional she really is. i love characters like that. and ayato, he's so snarky and fun, but again, his roughness hides how much he cares. i don't think this qualifies as a spoiler (i mean it gets confirmed in :re, but i feel like it was implied in the first half of the series), but after touka kills those doves in retaliation for killing hinami's mom, ayato starts killing doves too, because he also has a rabbit mask, to detract attention from his sister.....so it ties that first incident to him rather than her :')

at this point it's looking like part three of the simleb fics but i WILL get to it. i will. i can't abandon my boys. there's also the one with gaz overhearing soapghost and relaying the details to price which i still like but it needs Something and i couldn't put my finger on it

16. what are your writing strengths?

smut. i think i'm alright at setting tone as well, and i like to think i'm ok at building up tension

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

i'm terrible at dialogue and pacing. set descriptions too, i never know how much detail to put in vs letting readers fill in the blanks. i also don't really know how to describe it but i feel like my fics read less like a book and more like a script. and i get pointlessly, annoyingly wordy to say something that could be said in like two sentences lmao. add to that abuse and misuse of punctuation marks and it really is a mess lmao

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i don't like it generally speaking unless it's a word or two. i've used it once or twice tho dkjfhjkhst. it depends on the Why i guess, but if they're speaking another language together (as in one or more characters understand what's being said) i think it's better to be like 'he switched to dutch' and then use italics to go "Okay, this is what's happening, don't let them catch on." instead of writing the language

i think it was death note? maybe something for a band before that, i'm not sure tbh

20. favorite fic you've written?

miannach my beloved 🙏 it's not perfect but i had a lot of fun with the magic and the crack taken seriously while still also being a little funny, plus it has one of my fave smut scenes i've written

ANYWAYS, I actually can tell you with complete and utter certainty that you are not the only one who likes that trope, lovely, because a) it's one of my personal faves too, and b) there are thousands of fics about it! 🥰🥰 Childhood friends to lovers, baby!! 💕 And aawww those memes, I love some of them a lot!! The 'can't cook - can't cook either' one rings especially true 😂 Interestingly, I think canon Steve as the happy or sunny one is kind of a misconception, as is Bucky as the raincloud or grumpy one, but it sort of depends on what time in their lives you catch them in, of course. I think Steve isn't so much sunny as 'the sun', in that he's bright and hot(headed) and powerful, steadfast and captivating and other 'planets' orbit around him, and he can both warm you or burn you, depending on the circumstances. I do love that analogy! ☀️

And while were on this subject, Bucky, I feel, started out as the earth 🌎 Flourishing and hospitable and varied and supportive of all kinds of life and things, and, not least of all, in the sun's orbit, needing the light and warmth of it to survive. But after he'd been deprived of that for so long, used for other people's gain, very nearly extinguised and kept from growing and blooming for so many years, he kind of turned into a moon: in shadows, barren, visible only when illluminated by the sun 🌒 But at his core, he's still 'earthy' - he's got so much to give, and so many hidden depths which are just waiting to be (re)explored, and he's incredibly resilient. Ugh man, now I've made myself emotional 🥺

There’s just something about stories with a good amount of words that keeps you on the edge of your seat and also very immersive too. With how nice the writing has been done it takes you on a journey of some sorts along with the characters involved be it with a hint of reality or fiction it really makes you feel you were there witnessing these things come to life. The initial Joy part was something to remember from her to feeling the hotness to imagining her own scenario which could be used in the future, to the Seulgi and Joy action I was not expecting but well thought out and expressed it reminded me of that Korean movie with a G on G scene and I must say you could already picture it out so well on how Seulgi and Joy “interact” with each other, and finally to the foursome action with Yeri in it, with how you have written her in your other stories there seems to be a pattern given to it and it does suit her so well. The overall concept was *chef’s kiss*. Also what was the thought process behind Joy being in so much desperation after the first cast of the spell? And also the “orgy” that followed after?

The Joy/Seulgi scene wasn't very easy to write, because it was my first proper girl x girl scene, I think, but it was nice to try it out.

And yes, it does fit Yeri very well. I actually can't really see her in some other theme or role. This is basically her entire personality.

Are you asking how I came up with it, or why the spell effected her so much?

Since it was the first spell she used and it has the ability to enhance her desire and lust, it obviously drastically increases her longing for pleasure. That's why Joy has so little control over it at the beginning. And as the story progresses, the book influences her more and more, making it harder for her to properly satisfy herself without a spell. It makes her dependent on the book, which eventually leads to summoning the demon, hoping Joy will be able to find that undying pleasure she is looking for.

I won't spoil anything for the December special, since I have one or two special appearances planned. But yes, Seulgi will be part of two fics and Irene will be there as well. So I hope you'll be able to enjoy yourself throughout December.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

I think my introduction to Umineko was actually the anime lol. To be fair the first episode was pretty decent from what I remember, but I think it only took me 1 or 2 episodes to go seek out the Witch Hunt VN TL. So this is going to be a mix or anime/VN impressions

Anyway. Cousins!

Battler - The protagonist! :D I think his design was cool right away and I loved the way he stepped into the detective role and was always trying to solve the mystery and help keep everyone else calm. This man goes through A LOT as the story goes on and there's just so many great moments with him. Also I love his sprite in the VN. It's very cute.

Jessica - Love at first sight! I loved her design and her voice actress right away and at the end of it all. She had a cool big sis feel but something about her always felt very grounded to me. She's still one of my favorites (definitely my fave of the cousins) and I think she ended up being the most well adjusted cousins (but sadly got the least amount of focus too)...

George - My first impression was a good one! Especially with how good looking his anime design is (not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I prefer his chubby somewhat dorky VN sprite and don't like the glow up the anime/ps3 sprite gives him). The dependable older brother type, the one with the most positive relationship with his parents, and the one with the Tomitake Flash shirt! And honestly I was fine with his relationship with Shannon. But my impression of him definitely took a hit once we learned about the letter incident. I don't remember how old he was, but he really should have known better. I'm also just generally side eyeing how often the two of them actually saw each other growing up

Maria - Oh boy..... the anime knew what it was doing with her voice actress.... Maria was very much intended to give a negative impression. And her complete nonchalance and excitement over occult stuff as people started DYING GRUESOMELY was definitely not endearing her. But she's a character who gets a lot better the more you learn about her and her mother. She's a VERY well written character, and I love the moment it hits you that her cutesiness and childishness is NOT meant to be "cute anime child". She's also at the center of that one scene in Alliance that I can't read without sobbing. Also Happy Maria. Just Happy Maria.

Like imagine going from a lighthearted rom com to like??? A dark and gritty action movie LMAO I enjoyed writing for Johnny this time around, but I do worry I made him a bit (?) Out of character for his characrer progression, but I'm glad you enjoyed him nevertheless aha ^^ I did really like writing him as a dude who just means well, since he really just is that! I do have a rough outline of the general story! As well as more defined plot points I like to hit within the arcs of the story. For example, I consider the part of the story we're in to be like the training/pre Outworld arc?? And I have certain moments with characters I want to hit before we move on with the plot! Of course, I am a very impulsive person so I leave it open and easy to change if needed. Events that happen later also tend to change to better fit the flow of the story, but I generally know the direction I want to head with everything.

I plan on giving every love interest an ending (think like endings in mortal kombat for each character!) So ideally I'd like to give each character their own unique ending/epilogue with the reader! People on AO3 also have requested a harem ending which I am open to making, but can't gaurentee due to characters like Shang Tsung. I mighttt make one without certain characters depending on how it all ends, one with everyone, or not one at all! I don't want to stress too much over that right now so that one is still up in the air whether I'll do it or not (especially since we've like, barely started ahaha)

A lot 😅, I still live at home and am apparently too sentimental to get rid of half of the junk from my childhood, main thing I would say are my beanie babies and other stuffed animals, I hate the idea of giving away to strangers (yeah I know it's bad)

Yeah, I wear rings, necklaces and one earing when I remember to have it in (normally after I've had to half repierce because I left it so long) - and yeah only one because I had issues with my other ear piercing and didn't wanna go through having it pierced again

Some skinny jeans, one of my many many graphic tees (probably my Eddie Munson one I love it so much and it's by far one of my comfiest) a pair of my vans or my boots (my fave boots don't fit me very well atm which make me sad - damn my chubby ankles and calves), my red plaid shirt or green plaid Metallica shirt vest (weather dependent) and some of my rings - my faves are my amethyst coffin ring and my bat ring.

30 - 1. What is something you look forward to in your day to day life, and within the reasons of your interests.

At the minute I'd say the freedom on being unemployed and knowing I don't have the stress and weight of my old job on the shoulders, but I'm still struggling to figure out what I've really want to do but I'm still waiting to hear back from a different job I applied for a few weeks back (I'm hoping I can at least get an interview because it's for a company that specialises in something I'm actually interested)

But yeah woo freedom, I get to get back into my hobbies I felt to exhausted to do in my free time when I was working at my old job.

30 - 2. What is something you really want to happen in S5 of ST that you don't recall anyone else talking about?

ooh that's an interesting one, I think most of what I want has already been expressed in one way or another, while there are certain things I couldn't care less about (B*ler/m*leven love triangle all that crap because I don't even have an attachment to those characters anymore due to not liking the actors all that much anymore - yeah I know I'll probably get some hate there for that...), my main things for endgame are;

A happy ending for Max, Lucas, Dustin, Steve, Robin and Erica (they are probably the only characters I do care about these days)

Steve and Nancy not becoming a thing again (still one of things I hated most about s4 - they are better as friends I don't understand what the duffer idiots don't see about that)

And Steve in general finding happiness, whether that's actually finding someone who gets him and isn't going to hurt him or finally being ok with just himself (though in my mind he's living happy with my oc and probably always will be whatever happens in S5 lol)

I'd say I'd love to see Eddie come back too but if we're being realistic here, do we think that's actually gonna happen? It hasn't with any other fan faves who have died so I don't think that'll happen, I mean heck they're not even bringing back Argyle and he's alive so 🤷‍♀️

1. A selection of movies I rewatched so many times I wore out the VHS tapes. The Terminator 1984 (when T2 came Linda Hamilton blew me away), Platoon 1986, Aliens 1986 & Die Hard 1988. It's a lot of bonding strangers to survive, h/c, antiheroes or plain charismatic bad guys, hypothermia or fever, there was only one bed and bantering. The original wet rat blorbos. Also if it's not bloody obvious I had such crushes on Bruce Willis ,Tom Berenger and Michael Biehn, I watched so many bad 80s-90s movies because of them.

2. Wait a minute, TV shows, not MOVIES. My bad, I'm keeping nr 1 as is anyway. Hmm, I always list Hannibal or Buffy tVS/Angel tS whenever I do this so I'm gonna try to list something else that's major loves. So, Miami Vice 1984-1989. Baby me had such a crush on Don Johnson you could see it from space. Adult me gets it, bought the box & rewatches it from time to time, incl writing fic but never anything going somewhere.

3. The Expanse. It's probably a very obvious choice if you ever looked around my corner of Tumblr but I want more people to post about it so. Amos (my favorite pansexual murderbear), Holden (who gave me the Captaincy? Holy shit. How can I fix everything while also being stubborn and chaotic) Naomi (I live with my choices every day but I've got a new life here to do something with & I'll defend it with everything). OT3. Sometimes I want something of poly where Naomi & Drummer (dragon in the shape of a woman, a hoarding underdog with so much fight in her belly) gets to be happy too. But that's just to name a few, it's not often I'm so very invested in so many characters in a show but they all have arcs and space to exist. Unfortunately one of the mains isn't clicking with me at all so the first season took me a while to find all the gold.

4. 9-1-1; besides the love I have for the firefam I'm completely sucked into the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one. And the sunshine one is a golden retriever who's loyal to a fault and just needs food and love. While the grumpy one finds that letting the sunshine in makes life a helluva lot easier even if both of them almost dies a lot.

5. Hawaii 5-0. Talking about grumpy and sunshine. These two fit the bill too, they just can't decide who's who depending on the day and the drama. Danny's usually the negative one always predicting chaos. But Steve tends to be tortured or have shitty family secrets so his sunshine isn't that shiny all the time. But they're brilliant at bickering about everything which kinda gets them even. Instead they're great at hugs and saying I love you. I despise several plotlines but I can't quit them (I couldn't find a gif that includes Danny saying "Stop looking at me like that" in this scene but alas)

6. Stargate Atlantis, my first team turned into family, and my one and only OT4. McShep was my biggest fave, but i enjoyed team!fic just as much as OT4 fic. Reluctant leader with slinky hips and no self-preservation, paired with a smartass with a big mouth who always came through, a smarter woman who didn't get to kick people in the balls enough and stoic warrior who actually was the puzzle piece missing and more than meets the eye. They're a comfort fandom.

7. Due South. A weird cute soft series I didn't know had a fandom until after it was finished in early 2000s. And then I fell into fic (I never got to see the Ray wars up close luckily) and read so much by Speranza among many more. I've rewatched it a few times, esp if I'm home sick it's a comfort show.

8. Criminal Minds. I've rewatched this show many times because it's something about catching the bad guys and solving the case all neatly tied up. Another show I love but is even sadder and more horrible is Oz because happy ends doesn't exist because humanity is rotten and we pay for our choices. But it's so good I sometimes wanna rewatch it, I bought the DVD box. But then I remember how much I cried at certain eps, like the brothers and I don't. But sometimes it's good to cry over fictional characters.

Kingdom Hearts Character's (Homestuck) Classpect Pt.1: I'm Not a Liar.

Howsitgoinguys I'm back with that thing I promised. I never forgot about it, it was just that some characters were so hard to classpect that for the sake of my sanity I had to step back from the project. But I'm back on my manic bullshit so not only did I get it done, but I have classpected every single character originally from Kingdom Hearts. Before I announce the first batch, I just want to be clear about my Classpecting system.

💋 I treat Classpecting as self contained like a horoscope or MBTI type thingy. But not as a personality thing; more like incorporating the story as a whole into the healthiest state of being for the character.

💋Because of above, I don't believe any Classpect is doomed to fail; it depends on the actions and events of the story and clashing with other classpects that lead down that path. Death can very well be part of the journey for a character but it shouldn't be the end; Foretellers yes, Dark Road no.

💋 My point of reference is literally what I remember from Homestuck itself, some notes from the Classpecting for Assholes by Neurotypeline video and the wiki HOWEVER I have also seen Optimistic Dualist's and Ouroborista's videos on the subject so if their influence it's felt... I just can't help it man, I don't have original thoughts.

💋 I believe in aspect duality; Breath-Blood, Time-Space, Hope-Rage, Doom-Life, Void-Light, Heart-Mind

💋 Breath/Blood is forward progression, Time/Space is foundation, Hope/Rage is symbolism and themes, Doom/Life is narrative, Void/Life is lore, Heart-Mind is character development. HOWEVER these categories aren't isolated. Characters can dip into adjacent concepts to help progress the main; the closest two inconsequentially and the ones further out with the possibility of an issue occuring.

💋 Characters are also linked to their mirror; sometimes in symbolism or their inclination to lean into it. Depending on the class and the context it can either be a nifty tool or super detrimental. In general even the most flexible classpect will go down a bad path if they lean more heavily into their mirror than their true Classpect.

💋 This is not a statement on powers or personality. Being the same Classpect as a cannon character doesn't mean shit I'm just dumb like that. The way I see it, your aspect is a collection of keywords, your class is the origin of your power/journey to getting it, and what the results of that are purely up to your imagination.

💋 Similar classpects will probably feel some type of way about them. Certain classes function the same way in a typically replicable way so they might relate on their journey. Certain aspects usually have keywords that correlate to ideological beliefs. They might also hate each other and be polar opposites because they interpret those keywords differently or they don't embrace/understand the journey of their class.

With that out of the way, there are a collection of types where there isn't enough content for me to do anything but vibe type them or...I dunno. I just don't have a lot to say about them. Trope List

Age gap: -1/10 This is because some people consider an age gap to be, like, five years, and I honestly could not care less about an age gap like that. However, I do care about the age gap being twenty years. So I'd probably click on the fic to see what the age gap actually was. This tag on its own says very little to me.

Codependency: 0/10 I use "codependency" very loosely and not as any kind of clinical term, so this is another one that I feel like doesn't tell me very much, so I probably wouldn't care about it one way or the other. Which is the very definition of a 0! lol

Enemies to lovers: 2/10 This depends to me on how long they're going to be enemies and how awful they're going to be to each other. I do not like enemies to lovers stories where they get together in the last 300 words of the story, because then I don't believe they're actually going to last. Also, sometimes they might do something so unforgivable that I'm just like, ...these two should never be in a relationship together. So I'm not against this trope but I'm cautious about it.

Enemies with benefits: 6/10 hahaha well, this is just going to be smut, so that's fine, I don't have to worry about their chances of lasting.

Fake dating/relationship: 10/10 LOVE THIS TROPE. ALMOST ALWAYS A+.

Found family: 10/10 I love found family. i think I write a lot of it personally (unlike fake dating. which I feel like I almost never write???? I should remedy that). I just love when everyone gets to be happy, and this is a good tag for that lol

Friends to lovers: 10/10 I love this dynamic, probably my fave.

Friends with benefits: 6/10 I have no problem with this but I'd probably spend the whole fic being like, "Idk, just get together for real" lol

Hurt/comfort: 3/10 I am always very cautious, I need to make sure there's going to be enough comfort to make the hurt worth it...

Love triangle: -8/10 I really hate love triangles. I think they're extremely difficult to do well. The loser in the triangle either becomes a cardboard villain OR you risk them being too cool and people thinking they shouldn't be the loser lol. And I just hate going into a fic knowing someone's either going to be really annoying to me OR I'm going to like them and they're going to lose. This is not to say I never read a fic with a love triangle, and I'm sure I've even written some. But if it's *tagged* love triangle, that dynamic is probably a huge aspect of the fic, and I tend not to enjoy it.

Mistaken/hidden identity: 8/10 I can't think of a ton of examples of this. I guess, like, a prince masquerading as a pauper? Okay, I'd read it, sounds good actually. Wait, now that I said that, I'm remembering that FOB Robin Hood fic (you know the one if you've read it) so I just way upped my number lol

Monster fucking relationship: -4/10 Eh. I'm meh. lol

Obsession, possessiveness, etc.: -10/10 So this is different if it's for a PWP or for a long fic. When I first got involved in bandom, there was this in-progress fic, and I don't remember who it was by or what it was called or anything, but it was this dysfunctional, obsessive relationship, and I kept reading the chapters as they were posted being like, "Surely Pete is going to stop being like this in *this* chapter!" And then I finally realized no, the point of the fic was that that was how Pete was lolol. So I stopped reading. I get how there can be something hot about possessiveness, and so it's fine if I want to read PWP, but if there's a plot revolving around it, it can just make me personally uncomfortable.

Opposites (like grumpy×sunshine, etc): 8/10 I feel like a lot of ships can fit this dynamic and it's super charming!

Poly: -10/10 I feel really bad about this one, and I have definitely read poly fic written by authors I love and it's been fine, but I have so far always been a fan of a particular two people together. Maybe I will eventually join a fandom where I ship multiple, who knows!

Pregnancy: 0/10 This doesn't bother me and I don't care. I love kid!fics, so if there's going to be a baby in the fic I'm more inclined to click on it (as opposed to just pregnancy itself).

Second chance: 7/10 Maybe because I'm so old now, I love the idea of this. I think it can be tricky to do well, but it can also really glow lovely.

Sex to feelings: 9/10 I love slowly dawning feelings, especially ones that aren't really about sexual tension because it's already been resolved.

Slow burn: -2/10 Whenever I see this tag, I have to admit I worry that the burn will be so slow that I'll read 100,000 words and they'll get together in the last 3k. So I'm always a little hesitant about this tag.

Soulmates: 9/10 I enjoy these kind of magical realism things, I think it's interesting to imagine the world this way.

Arranged marriage: 10/10 I also really love this trope. When done well, it's sweet and tender and almost like wish fulfillment.

1. are you named after anyone? Nope, there's actually quite an entertaining tale about my parents agonizing over my name, to the point that the hospital threatened to write 'Babygirl' on my birth certificate... 👶🏻

2. when was the last time you cried? are we talking like properly/not related to a movie or tv show? 🤔 I legitimately can't remember. If it's related to a movie, then like last week when I saw spider-verse

3. do you have kids? absolutely not 😄

4. do you use sarcasm a lot? yes, sarcasm might be one of the pillars of my family's sense of humor, along with deadpan

5. what sports do you play/have you played? currently none, but as a youth? 😅 Ballet, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, and briefly gymnastics. I was very busy.

6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people? Oh gosh...idk. I feel like it's entirely dependent on the person. Maybe their clothes? Or else hairstyle?

7. scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings! All damn day

8. any special talents? Hm, maybe just that I'm artistic? I play piano and sing, and I love all kinds of visual arts/crafts (drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, textiles...) It's what I went to undergrad for.

9. where were you born? I was born in Oklahoma, USA! A place not many people have the desire to visit, but tbh I rate my hometown OKC pretty highly as a city.

10. what are your hobbies? Probably the 'talents' I mentioned above, altho I hope I can turn my hobbies into a source of income soon. I'm really into bookmaking at the moment. And this f1 blog I guess! I certainly spend a lot of time on it...

11. do you have any pets? My family has a cat that I miss desperately, and I grew up with dogs, but I don't have my own pet currently.

Get to Know Me

Thanks for the tag @ghostoffuturespast (please take me on a nature walk with you I'll bring granola bars)! In my decade of using this Tumblr I don't think I've ever done this tag prompt so it's nice to get some fresh answers. Let's see...

Are you named after anyone? Technically? My mom was considering a bunch of names for me when she was expecting, the name she would eventually choose being among them (I think the frontrunner at the time was Vanessa), When she went into labor, one of the nurses helping her was an older woman named [insert my name here] and she said "oh there hasn't been a baby named [insert my name here] born in this hospital in 30 years! :)" so my parents eventually picked that one instead of Vanessa. I get that I wasn't technically named after that nurse, but I was definitely named with her influence, and that has to count for something there lol.

When was the last time you cried? Within the last month, not really willing to get that personal here though. On average I'll cry like 3-4 times a year.

Do you have kids? Hell no, could you imagine?

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Only with people I'm close with. It used to be a running joke that I couldn't do sarcasm well-- still really can't, to be honest-- so I really use it sparingly and try to make it obvious if I do.

What sports do you play/have you played? Tons, surprisingly! I was a fairly active kid and dabbled in softball, ballet, soccer, basketball, and fencing at various points in my life. I swam competitively for 12 years, played lacrosse for nearly as long (first as a defender, then as a goalie), and played a little bit of field hockey as well through middle and early high school.

What's the first thing you notice about other people? Height, usually. Comes with having an egregiously tall 6'8 brother-- first thing I do is mentally check if they're taller than him or not.

Eye color? Blueish-gray. I have minor partial heterochromia as well: a streak of light brown in my right eye.

Scary movies or happy endings? I've been getting into scary movies lately! I binge the Dead Meat YouTube Channel at work for background noise and those videos have increased my interest in horror movies over the last few months. I always love that horror movies have interesting horror and trivia behind their productions and hearing the host James detail them all out has really given me a new appreciation for the kinds of work that go into them.

Any special talents? I can bend my elbows more than 180 degrees.

Where were you born? Northern New Jersey, about 15 minutes west of New York City.

What are your hobbies? Writing, reading, cooking/baking, hiking, running, swimming, video games, watching video essays about things I'm interested in, obsessing over New York sports teams.

Do you have any pets? I take care of my roommate's dog from time to time. He's not mine, but he's a sweetie and I'm basically his aunt, so sorta-kinda.

How tall are you? 5'8.

Fave subject in school? It cycled when I was still in school, but they tended to be History and English. I was a really good essay-writer and there are several periods of history I love learning about-- it's probably why I took to the Assassin's Creed series as much as I did-- so depending on the teacher it was usually one of those. I took a few media and film classes in college and I loved those as well-- I love media analysis with all of my heart.

Dream job? Used to be Olympic Swimmer, then Marine Biologist, then SportsCenter anchor. I came really close to achieving a few of those, but alas :P
