cat smiles, happy her daughter is enjoying sewing lessons — wishing arya would too, yet knowing her other daughter aspires for different dreams.

as cat says there was a boy of the Mormont family who may be a good match for Arya, she recalls how they lived in bear island ; with the eldest mormont being the lord commander of the night’s watch.

she and his wife, maege ( along with letter sent by raven to the wall ; of castle black ) had talked about possibly marrying their son to arya. mormont had hesitated, thinking of his son sam ; thinking of the dishonour.

he had written back to her arya and sam could meet soon if they wanted to, to know each other during their marriage and beforehand too. sam was not at bear island, having gone on a road trip to riverrun ; cat’s childhood home ; as he liked the sea.

responding to your post about the aot ending. (if this doesn’t work for what you wanted don’t answer but i thought i’d open up about this!)

i just finished attack on titan a few days ago. because before that, i hated what i saw. like, from the perspective of someone who got all their information from manga clippings on tumblr. and here’s why i hated it with every fiber of my being:

a) i hated marley. i didn’t like reiner or zeke, i hated gabi, and i hated how much attention they got in the final season/issues. i wanted to see our main cast, not these side characters who ruined everything. (after finally finishing it, i have a new appreciation. i still dislike gabi and zeke, and i’m not the biggest fan of reiner. but i found myself absolutely adoring porco and colt and pieck and it gave me room to open up)

b) i hated eren. he went from the protagonist we were supposed to adore to the antagonist we were fighting against and i thought it was too bold of a choice and i couldn’t get on board with it. the whole conversation with armin and mikasa… ugh. i was infuriated. and everything i saw only furthered that. the rumbling?? mikasa kissing his decapitated head??? it was all so weird and upsetting to me. (i sobbed over the scene where she kissed him. i cried through the intro every time. he was a child. he just wanted to save his friends.)

c) levi. i was BEYOND convinced that without hange in the picture, he couldn’t have a happy ending. i was livid that he survived. i was infuriated that he survived AND didn’t ever fully heal from his physical injuries. it felt like they had taken everything from him, and i was so mad about it. (i made a whole post about how wrong i was about this one)

so, yeah! these were the reasons that it took me several years to finally actually finish attack on titan, and see that the ending isn’t as bad as i had previously thought.

Thank you for answering and wanting to share your opinion! Even though you had rocky opinions starting out i’m glad you were able to finish it in the end, no matter how your opinions changed or stayed the same!

Here’s my thoughts: (feel free to skip if you’re not interested)

It took me a really long time to finish AOT as well, i started watching it when Season 1 came out and then was hesitant to watch any further when the next season was added because i was nervous about how the story would go, im glad i finished it when i did though because i grew up and was able to understand the plot a lot better.

i can completely relate on not liking Gabi or Zeke, even after finishing the show i still strongly dislike them. though i feel a little neutral when it comes to Reiner and the other Warriors. I feel bad for Reiner and how far he was pushed even after he had wanted to die but his actions were still awful, i do not sympathize with him but i do pity him. Marley is still unforgivable in my eyes.

As far as Eren goes, i’m pretty neutral on him, it’s very Love Hate relationship between me and him. It was the first time i’ve ever seen a protagonist become the antagonist (or at least an anti-hero) so it was very shocking. I hate Eren because he made the decision without anyone else’s consideration and believed it was okay, even after we get a glimpse of his talk with Armin in the final episode he still did The Rumbling. I love him because i feel bad for him, he was just a kid when he was pushed into the role of a Titan shifter and everyone in the Survey Corps took advantage of his titan, seeing him as a tool rather than anything else.

I believe that how things ended was the only way things could have ended, everyone was pushed to the extreme and killing Eren was the only way to end the story (i know a lot of people have problems with the ending because of Eren dying)

I was happy to see that Levi got a (overall) neutral ending (imo) although i agree that without Hange in the picture it would be hard to see Levi surviving I believe that Hange dying was the final straw with him so you can imagine my surprise to see that he survived AND then was in a portion where he was being very kind and generous to the kids (though it makes sense because he had been in the same position as them before) i’m very happy he survived in the end

In the end, i didn’t side with either sides of the war because overall, there were no completely good people with good intentions, and i was glad it turned out that way because no one is entirely good. Nothing is ever black and white.

Overall it’s really interesting to see what other people think of the ending so thanks for sharing!

she then nods, allowing the woman, she learned name was athena, bandage her brown coloured arm. white bandage to the bruise purpling on her skin from the wood splinters ( which she managed to pull out splinter before the salve cream and bandage ).

LONG STORY SHORT? recent events have made me unsure of myself and, unfortunately, I can tell that those insecurities are bleeding into my portrayals now. I apologize if my writing seems weaker than before because of this; it's something I simply have to work through to get fully comfortable again.

—simply know for the other listed points that, after threads are cut down for one muse, a cap of five per character will be set for all and a schedule will be implemented properly next week, as I've been slacking with reply times.

BOOMS: of course, Eremiya will do everything in her power to report the group; they're more than a disturbance, they're taunting. however, she'll begrudgingly require a partner who is like-minded as she, since the sudden bursts of fire in the air are hardly... tame, and productivity will not prosper if she remains uneasy with every passing image of a spiraling rocket. or you can be a BOOMS enthusiast stopping her before she snitches.

PHOTO-ARTIFEX: a way to keep memories trapped within an image? perfect! Emmeryn's all too happy to volunteer herself for testing! she doesn't mind who wishes to help either since she mainly wants to see how well the machine works, and if she can satisfy the gaps in her memory by creating new, frozen-in-time moments she can never forget. also not against swaying volunteers who only want to help technical-wise and not have their pictures taken.

SWORD +1: half for the point and half because I am absolutely enamored by the return of the silly rat orchestra MSKMWNSDJ it's highly possible that Emmeryn was dragged into this, as her place in the town may have been too far from the monastery to notice students going missing; plus, she doesn't fit the criteria of victims, per se! of course, her first idea is speaking to the culprit, so your muse may have to be bait unless they mistake Emmeryn for a student. she won't let anything happen to you so no worries! worst case scenario, the culprit can't understand the common tongue and we have to play instruments to communicate.

out of curiosity what abt people drawing characters as red + mr nobody and then calling it a transistor au do you like? no hate I’ve just never seen anyone with strong feelings on the subject haha

short answer: im mean. i hate shipping. i hate fandom culture. long answer:

i dont like shipping very much to begin with. i prefer more concrete analysis of what is actually in a given storys text. if theres romance, theres romance. if there isnt, there isnt. if theres romantic subtext/implications, its fun to analyze. i might humor the idea of characters in non-canon pairings, but i do not enjoy shippy fanfic. i do not see the fun in engaging with romance-centric media/fanfic constantly and/or squeezing 2-3 ships one becomes obsessed with out of every story one engages with. i find that most people that are really into shipping to the point of making/enjoying "[setting] aus" of the ships they like are seeking substantial romantic threads when there are none to be found in the source story. just read a different more romantic story lol. theres lines between "lets imagine the characters in a different setting" and "lets imagine if this pairing i like was recognized in-text" and "lets imagine the characters as a pairing in a different setting specifically so i can play out how i want them to kiss like theyre my dolls". like... sure, thats fine, but it bores me personally, and i get mad with it when it sort of tramples on the related characters or stories in favor of shipping.

transistor is a complete and self-contained story that centers on romance. it isnt a little template to force whatever jigsaw pieces youre currently interested in into. thats a really sad way to treat stories. aus are fine and fun im not your boss but almost all of these "transistor aus" are not actually about transistor. its all "what if my current favorite character couple was exactly like the transistor couple?" with no thought put into it past "its angsty". it feels like people are treating transistor as a source of inspiration towards something "more important" rather than recognizing it as its own whole work. transistor as a story employs tropes but its just the one story thats exactly like this... there is no "transistor trope". its not a widely recognized work thats commonly imitated/parodied. no one else goes through exactly what these two protagonists went through within the same game for it to be an in-story trope. no other unrelated characters fit the story's exact bill in a believable way, because they are from other stories.

in another life if the game was massively popular and genre-defining (lol) enough to bring that opening pose to an iconic status i wouldnt have a problem with all this. but it literally isnt. its an indie game thats popular enough to have people adore its soundtrack for life, yet very few people are actually talking about the game on tumblr in 2023. people keep posting about their limited tip of the iceberg perception of the game exclusively as a vehicle for unrelated ships. do you understand how frustrating that is??? people feel the emotional impact of transistors story and care deeply for its protagonists but halt their analysis of it there. its "this romance is tragic and i like it, how can i adapt it to my interest in shipping?" rather than "wow, i like this story that contains a romance, lets explore the full cryptic plot of the game as a cohesive and whole story".

i hate those aus because they betray an embarrassingly surface level understanding of red and mr nobodys deals + the entire games setting and plot + an obsession with shipping im too old to care for :/ the main tag on this site most often updates to have one of these aus rather than more straightforwardly on-topic posts. or at least it feels that way for me, someone who dislikes them lol. its really saddening to see an already overlooked indie game with a rewardingly complicated and hard to uncover plot (that most players dont bother to engage with) go further unengaged-with in favor of a butchering of a uniquely tragic and well written romance.

(spoilers if youre somehow unfamiliar yet on my blog) mr and mrs transistor's entire dynamic is born from the fact theyre a famous celebrity singer and unnamed off the grid bodyguard couple in love to the point of dying for one another within their strange futuristic 1930s-esque cyberpunk setting. they have specific disillusionment and despair problems tied to the city they love, and an over-willingness to die for one another. they kept their romance/engagement a secret, and thats why the guy is killed. red is running from robots that are trying to kill her. these are very very very specific parameters. you cannot divorce them from cloudbank + their love towards her and produce the same dynamic. you cannot give red and her man an entirely different set of personality traits and say the story would still play out the same. its not a primarily "singer/bodyguard" romance story, its a cyberpunk utopia robot apocalypse love story. there is much more to this story than its romance, but you cant have one without the other. if you only actually want to borrow the "singer/bodyguard" aspect, just... say that. why make it transistor specific. ditch the part where one of them is getting usb stick stabbed. everyone who i see place their blorbos into this dynamic is treating this one of a kind game's protagonists as if theyre a preset "trope" that any set of characters can fit into if you ship them hard enough. they really, really, really arent.

furthermore im extremely picky with what fictional romance interests me to begin with, and my interest does not extend to "what if we stripped these characters of their setting and development and entire reason to be who they are / why theyre in love and think about what they would be like in place of other super unrelated characters". i dont really like aus like that. they can be fun maybe in extreme cases but i would rather think about javascript. the "current blorbo + other blorbo = 🤔" mindset hinges on how accurately one read the text of both blorbos to actually work. it feels like online nowadays stories are being treated as something to consume, map your entire personality around temporarily, draw as much inspiration as possible from, then move on to the next, repeat. people eat the top layer of transistor, then move on very quickly. its fine but it tires me. also the m/f ships are ''less valuable'' than m/m ships aspect "transistor but make it gay😜" style. stop doing that. there are in-text gay characters in this story. red is slightly implied to be bi. open your heart to well-written m/f romance. or the aspect of people projecting what they personally desire upon ships and mass consuming/producing progressively further from canon shippy works out of their own loneliness (not the case with everything, but yknow.) which i personally find strange. its aggravating to see my favorite characters willfully misinterpreted for projections sake. i like romance in stories, but not in a shipping way. i dont like thinking of pairings i like as part of a maintained list of ships i care for or tags i check on tumblr. my interest in those pairings cannot be separated from my interest in their source material. the tightly written romance in transistor is something i really enjoyed about it. i thought others would recognize how special it is. sigh

athelstan is now walking in park with westley, they having sighted it during their boat ride. st pierre’s cathedral was very beautiful, with colourful lights dancing in the walls.

they are talking about noah’s ark, a story that had interested wes when seeing the delicate page the other boy had open in the cafeteria ; he smelling the interesting parchment texture. he had then carefully set down his tray with brioche bread on the doubled table in which athelstan sat alone, next to his orange juice glass.

one thing they noted with the story was noah creating a window 🪟 of his gallantly guarded ark to ensure the wellbeing of his animals, and sending a raven. yet noah hadn’t been sure if cypress wood was durable to withstand the flood, pausing when gathering wood, and then choosing oak and mahogany. during their reading and chatting to each other, athelstan, even with his conflicted state and criss-crossed scars on his pale papery bone arms which was getting a little stronger when walking out in the natural sun of christ and sol, thought he could hear a low feminine hum through the trees — qui brillaient dans son couer qui se voile.

wes asks the other if he had been on a ship before, noting he did not seem too seasick when out on the boat and helping with moving oars through water. making athelstan recall when he dived into the water to save ragnar’s life in the past, upon seeing him fall in from high up on the cliffside to escape earl haraldson.

he then says that we could be a home and family on the ship, looking concerned at athelstan, the redness around his eyes initially made the other wonder if it was from sleep deprivation. wes had actually touched textured residue from red oak of the trees in the forest he found peace and excitement in exploring, and smoothed it around his eyes. he then continues to say if there was something he could do to help athelstan.

he wasn’t sure how to answer wes at first, hesitancy still threading within him and biting his lip. the burden of his crucifixion was still quite heavy, he feeling the ghost of the rope cutting into his shoulders ( when he had to carry the cross, when found and captured by the wessex soldiers ).

he is still holding his bible with its delicate papery scent, papers which fluttered lightly in the wind yet would not be able to withstand a storm. he says to wes, it’s important to find his own rhythm of peace and quiet as in look for me in the stars ; I’ll find you in the melody.

due to his shaky ground he experienced with his reincarnated state with his past haunting him to the point where he felt like anything and everything seemed to be out to kill him — with lone prayers going unanswered — he needed to converse in person to wes about his conflict as well ; a real contact of soul yet significantly needed factual progression within the discord of his life. remembering seeing wes’ adventures already there in his own photo album would help him also to remember their friendship and who he was.

wes hears him, looking at how sad athelstan is, ( seeing him look sad and hesitant in a photo preview on social messenger ), and noting his whispers of pain during the study of reading his history, and says they could talk in text and video within the beginning of the end ; ( then seeing his expression of sadness dissipate ) when the flowers just start to sprout out from the ground in the tomorrow morning light, placing his tag handle into the open story of noah’s ark.

Pet Peeves / Deal-breakers: I strongly desire writing partners that will put in as much energy as I will. If I’m always the one carrying the conversation or plot, I will be discouraged and think you aren’t actually interested. I definitely value actions (effort) over words of reassurance that you’re interested. Also, please read my rules. They are so short and simple. haha 

Fluff / Angst / Smut: I am open to most things, provided there is a road to take to said destination. I can improvise a scenario on the spot, but those interactions easily lose my interest without further plotting. If our characters are having a serious, meant-to-be-impactful interaction, I’ll feel it that much more strongly if I know what led them there, and that will lead to more inspiration for me! Fluff is personally nearly impossible for me to write without plot.

Plots / Memes: Plot with me!! We don’t have to know every little thing that will happen, and things can change if the muses lean in a different direction, but I want to build something with you! Memes are fun for solo one shots, or work best for me with established relationships, etc.

Long / Short Replies: As long as a reply is advancing the scene or plot, I’m happy!

Ideal Writing Times: Early in the morning or at night; I’m on the West Coast of North America, for reference. It honestly changes, but if I am able, I’ll at least be open to chatting about our ideas.

Similarities to Muses: Write what you know, eh? Or, at the very least, what you can research! Either way, there is a small part of me in every character I write. I think the highlights would be... I’m queer. I seriously love the sciences. And... Hm. Well. I want to save the world, I suppose?

draegan remembered the girl had seen him drinking from blood bags he got from the hospital. as his eyes flickered open from his consuming the blood from the hospital transfusion bags, red hair matted to his forehead from blood, he sees she had looked terrified?

noting the widening of her brown eyes, and her butterfly pendant falling to the ground. backing away from him, upon seeing his bloodied state. she said she read about vampire folklore in fiction, yet this was the first time she had seen one up close.

valerie, after first calling her mother to see if she was okay, panic turmoiling a little within her despite draegan saying all went well, ‘ how did you manage to get the blood bags from the hospital without harming humans? ‘

he explains he still had one blood bag left and the bridge dive had saved him enough to go to the hospital at a quiet drifting pace, finding the blood bags kept in ice.

he elaborates a bit more in the destruction of the bridge ( he seeing how much it hurt her ) that he was consumed by frenzied bloodlust, and dove into the water to eat the goldfish swimming there — they making light ripples in the water. the water then had churned to a darker shade, red colouring in with the blue.

valerie was quite shaken by this, as she listens. after a little while, he hears her ask him, ‘ why are you really here? ‘

he says to her that ‘ i had escaped from the capitol to this town… they experimented on me. there were some people with me in adjoining cells, annie cresta, peeta mellark, and johanna mason. ‘

Hello, I am once again throwing my hat into the Tumblr void in order to find an rp partner that won’t completely disappear after, like, a week. So if you aren’t looking for anything long term or if you don’t think your mental health can handle it then please take care of yourself elsewhere rather than picking up another burden. Roleplay is supposed to be fun, not draining! Seriously, please look after yourself first.

Anyways, for the people that stuck around, I’m looking specifically for a Spideypool rp right now. I have a preference for playing Peter, but I’m totally cool playing Wade too. I was thinking more of an Andrew Garfield/Ryan Reynolds MCU vibe, but I’m again completely fine with going more comic book based. I don’t know enough about Tobey’s Spidey annnd isn’t Tom’s Spidey like, 17? yikes…

When it comes to plot, well, that’s entirely up to you lovely stranger reading this! Wanna do something dark, gritty, gorey and downright sickening?! Lets do it! If you want more of a fluff, slow-burn, gentle lovers trope then hell yeah I’m all for that too! I’m okay with smut, gore, fluff, angst, action— whatever. I’m okay and open to any and all ideas!
