the meteor impact retcon genuinely has me in shambles i don’t understand why they couldn’t have just edited the lookback instead. it’s honestly rlly frustrating and rude for the writers to just back write in order to align w new stories, when all they needed to do was simply proof read mi before writing in the first place or just correct the correct the inconsistencies, it comes off as lazy.

he didn’t know what heroes were until he met chiaki, who’s taught him sm and becomes what it means to be a hero in his eyes, that fact is literally the foundation of their relationship.

having kanata already know that from the get go completely strips that layer from their rs and ultimately minimises chiakis overall impact, this minitalk shows that. and the lookback itself has already done a lot of that.
