#also jsyk 'soviets were as bad as nazis' is not the *official* narrative of modern ukraine #usage of soviet symbols is prohibited by the same law as usage of nazi symbols #and for obvious reasons there is a lot of official materials that showcase failings of ussr #but saying that they were no different from nazis is still a very fringe position #my textbook from 2018 explicitly stated that not only ussr was better than nazis but better than fascist regimes of eastern europe then #and liberation from germany is officially supported as a great event
