idk anything about the grace period for deltarune u can just keep this ask in the attic until that’s over.. anyway.. i really liked chap 2 i played it in one sitting 😭 the rpg combat is enjoyable enough and just the right amount more complex than the undertale combat is, although not very difficult. very touching power of friendship moments minus that fucking bird man. some of the dialogue felt quite fandom tropey and surface-level, and queen’s lines (love her tho) were hit or miss for me. i think the biggest frustration i have with it is all the useless random encounter characters clogging up your world 😞😞 there’s only so many wacky one-liners toby can give them and i am not invested enough to care! also some of those designs are uglie!! there are better ways to make a world feel real and lived in. same thing happened with undertale.

BUT it was a great time! i liked the juxtaposition between the ultimately harmless antics and charming banter with the gang and queen, and the more sinister plot going on in the background. most obviously in the ending. toriel and susie making a pie while kris RIPS OUT THEIR SOUL….spoiler warning.. did u see the theory that the soul aka red heart is you the player operating kris the vessel? i’m definitely not a theorist but i like seeing all the loose plot ends i’m having a good time. i love noelleeeeee 💞💞💞💞and i liked susie a lot more this chapter. when ralsei taught her a healing spell 😖😖 i still don’t really care about ralsei though 😓

i also played it in one sitting it was so GOOD. i don't care that it was 2 am here when it was released i wasss ecstatic and the game was so fucking GOOD tonby the fox delivered!! it was so so worth the wait! the music was so much better than in chapter 1 imo, like... my castle town? the cyber fields theme? the queen's fight? spamton g spamton??? rouxls' "fight"?? BANGERS. i only see bangers. the new gameplay mechanics were also very fun!! i for one kinda struggled with the mice puzzles but not nearly as much as that one section with the traffic jams where you have to go down and back up or whatever. what the hell was that? i'm surprised i actually got past it. i loved the parts in cyber field though where you had to move on beat with the music that was sooo fun!! more of that! i prefer the fighting system in undertale ngl but it's mostly bc the undertale bosses are... just so good. the one boss who rivalises for now to me is queen, although rouxls is also very fun.

as for the story itself... i liked it :) susie & noelle are fucking ADORABLE. i think they deserve to be happy forever like not even together just individually as characters they're the fucking best. susie's grown so much that's my girl... wough... ralsei i do like but... i don't trust him :D i don't think he's evil but he knows too much and tells us too little until he can't keep it for himself and i don't like that. like bro you're gonna get us in trouble stop. but ALSO some ppl speculate that himself is being misled and that the fountains wouldn't bring the roaring, which is an interesting theory. (also i miss lancer being more relevant)

uhh kris is... well... kris... :)... yeah i did hear about that theory i'm in a discord server where ppl have been going on and on about theories since the game dropped LMAOO we're all insane. um. my personal theory is that there's another knight, or that kris is at least also influenced by an "evil force" or whatever, and we're the good force influencing them bc otherwise they're just a normal albeit mischievous kid. and the stretch part is that uhhh there's two knight pieces on a chessboard, ik this isn't about chess at all but king of spades does tell you at the end of chapter 2 that you'll meet a more powerful foe = the queen, coincidentally in chess the queen is stronger than the king. hmmmmmmmmmmm. lmao i don't think my parallel here is right but it's fun to think about anyway

did you see the superboss? i didn't fight him myself but he's so fun. also @ everyone who said he's gonna be a tumblr sexyman i hate that you're right shut that shit down HJKSNFKJSDHG. also did you see the secret fucked up pipis route? it's horrible. genuinely... i watched a streamer play it and 😳 uh. well i didn't even hate berdly before anyway yeah he's annoying but like he's a snot-beaked kid i'm not gonna wish him... whatever happens in this route. legit scarring. and poor noelle... pffbbgtbg. hate this so much. but i think it was done so bad and horrible on purpose, with how specific your gameplay has to be for you to be able to complete it tonby really was like "you wanna be an asshole? undertale wasn't enough? fine. work for it. and also suffer" nskjshf. i'm never doing it <3

lastly FUCKING QUEEN!!!!!!! QUEEN MY LOVE!!!!! BEST CHARACTER. i love her sosososo much it's unreal. and i didn't mind any character designs much, i'm not too complicated in that regard shfkjsdfh i love the tasques and tasque manager though :) also the... idk their names... the butler dudes? they're so cute. swatch's design is neat

Marinette detransformed as soon as she entered Chloe’s suite. She had already changed into her pajamas partly because she wanted to be comfortable for the long conversation and partly because she knew she’d likely pass out as soon as she got home and didn’t want to worry about changing then.

“I’m going to kill you, you obnoxious flying furball!” Plagg’s cackling could be heard over Chloe’s shout and Marinette shared a look with Tikki before they both started giggling. Plagg enjoyed aggravating Chloe a bit too much. Marinette walked over to the door leading into the bedroom and saw Chloe chasing Plagg. As soon as the Kwami saw her he changed course and threw something directly at Marinette’s face. Tikki ended up catching it as Chloe, who hadn’t noticed her in time, ran straight into her sending them both to the floor.

“I swear if you don’t start behaving I’m getting a dog!” Chloe’s words were directed at the fleeing Kwami while she cradled the back of Marinette’s head so it didn’t hit the floor. It was an instinctive reaction from fighting together but Marinette appreciated it all the same.

“Can I help you choose one? It seems like it would be fun and I’m not allowed to have pets.” Chloe looked down at her in confusion before a horrified expression came over her face.

“I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” It was nice not to be the one panicking for once. Chloe was trying to look Marinette over in their current position and Marinette couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up. Chloe glared at her in annoyance and Marinette just grinned and leaned up to kiss the tip of the other girls nose.

“I’m fine, but your floor isn’t the most comfortable. Maybe we should move to the couch.” A blush spread over Chloe’s face and she jumped away as if she’d been burned. She reached a hand out to help Marinette up but wouldn’t look her in the eye. She tried to let go once the other girl was on her feet, but Marinette wouldn’t let her. Chloe still wasn’t used to physical affection and after everything that had happened with Adrien she seemed to be working off the less is more principal, so Marinette took the lead most of the time.

Once they were situated on the couch, Marinette still didn’t let go. She actually held Chloe’s hand with both of her and was playing with her fingers. It was a nervous habit, one she hadn’t even noticed she had until Chloe pointed it out. Now it was a sort of self soothing gesture.

“Mari you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.” Marinette let out a sigh, more frustration at herself than anything else. Want wasn’t the issue. She wanted to tell Chloe everything. She wanted there to not be secrets between them causing her pain. Unfortunately her secrets weren’t the only one’s Marinette was protecting.

“Right after you found out who I was but before I gave you Plagg, I found out the Justice League was looking into things in Paris. I met with them mainly to tell them to stay away, but I ended up accepting help from Batman and his team, from a distance, to find Hawkmoth.” She snuck a peek at Chloe to see her reaction, and her expression was oddly blank. That wasn’t helpful. “The person using the Horse Miraculous is one of his team who was already in Paris at the time. He’s been helping me keep other Justice League members out while we gather evidence. A big part of the reason I decided to do the reveal at the fashion show was so he could plant surveillance in Gabriel’s office at home. I wasn’t expecting him to go off the deep end and turn Nathalie of all people against him. Honestly I still don’t understand what happened today.” Chloe let out a snort of amusement.

“What happened was that Gabriel broke a contract with one of the richest men in the world and immediately tried to blame it on someone else.” Marinette blinked at her in surprise.

“You mean you know who he is?” Chloe’s expression was suspiciously blank again.

“He called Damian Mr. Wayne.” Marinette just nodded. She’d heard that. “As in Bruce Wayne?”

“Okay…” She still had no idea what that meant. Chloe rolled her eyes at her.

“You really ignore everything outside of the fashion world don’t you? Bruce Wayne, as in Wayne Enterprises, as in multi billionaire that can buy and sell Gabriel at least fifty times over.” Marinette just blinked as she tried to process that. She’d figured Damian was using a different last name because he was Robin and didn’t want to be linked back to his team. Had he just been hiding his money this entire time? Given the way people acted around Adrien she could understand why but…

Pieces started falling into place in her head. Damian had told her stories about his family, even if he’d left out who they were. She counted in her head the number of siblings he’d mentioned, all adopted. She’d speculated before that he was actually talking about his team because the number and ages seemed to add up. She’d heard of Bruce Wayne before but hadn’t really paid attention to it. She did remember hearing that he was a playboy and had multiple adopted children. Unless the man was as horrible a father as Gabriel there’s no way he wouldn’t notice his son disappearing to fight crime. So that meant…

“Earth to Mari? Are you okay in there?” She blinked at her girlfriend and felt a knot in her stomach. Now she had another secret she had to keep. Rather than answering she hugged Chloe, hiding her face in the girls neck. She needed to talk to Damian. She owed it to him to tell him her suspicions and she’d need his okay if she wanted to stop hiding things from Chloe. She’d need to talk to Master Fu as well. Why couldn’t things just be simple?

“I’m meeting with the Justice League tomorrow for a progress update. Will you come with me?”

What is Pitch Pearl?

Basically a romantic relationship between Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom, but it gets a lot more complicated after that because, obviously, they’re the same person in the show (thus the confusion and this question hitting my inbox every once in a while). How they’re shipped, how one character becomes two, and what Fenton’s and Phantom’s personalities are post separation varies depending on the shipper, making it a very, very volatile ship.

Some shippers prefer a version where canon Fenton and Phantom were never quite the same person, even if that means Phantom is a ghost that bonded to Fenton during the accident (that blob that merges with his DNA in the title sequence for example). He’s a little voice in Fenton’s head, he’s the reason his powers act up and their transformations are out of sync in the first season

He’s learning how to live through Fenton’s eyes and becoming more in sync with him throughout the series until something separates them.

Of course there’s also the AUs. A ghost hero falling in love with the son of ghost hunters, the ghost king meeting a human that stumbled through an artificial gate, a merman/dragon/mythical creature gets rescued ect. Danny isn’t a hybrid here, he is two paradoxical people who fall into a situation together. We just want complete opposite, yin-yang like people to fall in love, okay?

But then there’s also the dark side of the ship where Phantom is a ghost reminiscent of the TUE version, prior to merging with Plasmius. Because evil Phantom’s eyes are often red when he’s evil, the subpairing name for it is Red Pearl (lame name is my fault, sorry). How evil once again varies. Murderous evil? Possessive evil? Control Freaks evil? There was one story where Phantom killed Jack and Maddie after they experimented on him once too many times. There’s a picture where Phantom is holding his hand over Fenton’s eyes and blood is on his gloves and running down Fenton’s face like tears.

Ghosts are dangerous. This version explores how dangerous Danny can be without a human half to ground him.

(For the record, it’s not just in Pitch Pearl; I’ve seen very popular Danny x Sam art and fanfics that were just as scary)

We have a humorous version that is surprisingly less common given that it’s the most canon and the easiest to make happen. You might be familiar with it

Talk about complete opposites falling in love, no? :P Round out their personalities through some good ol’ hardworking character development and you’ll have two functioning characters that might be the same at their core but have very different personalities. Done a certain way, there’ll be a shit ton of psychology thrown into the mix because...identity crisis. When the personalities come out as Fun and Super Danny, the subpairing name is Heroic Amusement. The appeal is that opposites attract, especially if the other person is the missing half of yourself. Plus these FunxSuper versions are a lot of fun.

(I’d argue their personalities were already rounding out during the episode given that “Fun” Danny fell out of the Specter Speeder to save Phantom and Phantom rode a vacuum while cleaning but that’s just because I have an invested interest)

There’s a clone version as well, Vlad’s perfect (or not so perfect) son. Most clone Phantoms lack a human form, but it depends on the writer/artist. It’s not done very often, I’m guessing because it comes too close to Danielle and it’s not really self-cest. But it has a lot of potential.

The brilliance (and frustration) at this point is that all of this can happen...without the romance. Brotherly love and friendship between Fenton and Phantom is really adorable but often gets tangled up in the Pitch Pearl mass pile-up. It’s called Oreo Cookie but no one can search that tag so it’s being renovated to Phriendship. Twin brothers? Cute. Platonic mythical creature au? Wicked cool. That voice in Fenton’s head? His shoulder angel/demon and constant companion. Friends to the end.

There are...two stories? And at least one picture where they are twins. So incest is surprisingly low on the radar.

Mind you, Oreo Cookie/Phriendship is NOT Pitch Pearl because the feelings between Phantom and Fenton aren’t romantic in anyway. It’s often tagged as Pitch Pearl because the friendship and relationship have one goal in common: Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom must interact together. Fortunately, canon has given us many options to choose from when it comes to separating Danny

So there’s a lot of ways it can happen, even by accident.

These were only the most common ones I’ve seen (and written). But there a way more. There was an angel idea by Charliemcarthy! Idk the details exactly but I imagine Danny dies, Phantom remains ghost-bound and Fenton gets shunted into a guardian angel role before returning to protect Phantom and Amity Park. Kris and I had an idea where Danny found and put the ghost king’s crown on after the events of Reign Storm and it rejected Danny’s human half, splitting the two like a reverse portal accident.

Some shippers focus on the supernatural aspect, some just think they look adorable together, and some want that wholesome fluff. (Me. I want the fluff. I want clouds of fluff.)

Pitch Pearl can be so, so many things....

And after they’re separate or the universe has been established, what then? Who are they as characters? Who falls in love first and who pushes the relationship? Convincing a full ghost and a full human to fall in love is tricky at best of times because of the species divide, but there’s also conflict-inducing elements like their past as one person, Fenton’s parents, the other ghosts, Phantom’s fans and Fenton’s bullies, Fenton’s mortality and the consequences of Phantom being full ghost/no longer alive. Just a lot of ways their lives clash. So there are many directions Pitch Pearl can take.

But that’s for the writers to sort out and the artists to draw and the viewers to speculate. There are countless ways to begin the ship that then determines who they are as characters and how their romance develops. Probably too many. It gets confusing. I can understand why people dismiss it as a potential pairing, and yet I can’t. If you don’t like one version of the ship, ship it a different way. There are even stories where Danny is still a hybrid.

But to each their own.

so, when you start seeing kd as a real couple? It was something specific or...?

I’ve actually thought quite a lot about this. anon, and Ive narrowed it done to 3 series of events. And I should start off by saying that my fetus exol self did not ship kaisoo in the beginning - I was more into se-kai. I remember, when I looked up a graph of all the exo ships (for knowledge), being so shocked and confused as to why there was line connecting jongin to kyungsoo. Because as far I’d known, those two didn’t seem like they’d go together at all. They were complete opposites! So, I left my se-kai life and went to investigate this interesting and strange pairing.

I was a very casual about shipping the two, and didn’t think that much of their interactions. I was very much aware of the cultural differences and the hyped up fanservice groups put on for audiences, so I told myself that it wasn’t that deep. However, I did find it interesting how their “fanservices” were never quite put out there for the audiences to actually see. (And realized that the “behind the scenes pairing” title name was actually, quite… accurate lol)

ok ok I’ll stop rambling now and get on with it. In chronological order these were the things that really stood out to me and had me convinced.

1. “The Inner Workings Of SM” insider post from 2012

This entire post goes over a lot of topics, but the general overview is SM manipulating media and setting up exo/girl pairings for planned scandals and hype in the future.

Such as:

baekhyun + SNSD’s taeyeon

kris + SNSD’s yuri

luhan + SNSD’S seohyun

sehun + f(x)’s krystal (which obviously fell through)

jongin + f(x)’s krystal (which came into play)

If I remember correctly, this post was shared in 2014, after Dispatch “leaked” baek-yeon’s “date,” and SM confirmed their “relationship.”But the original post was written all the way back in 2012, so I was fucking wOKE. And, ofc, I was more concerned and with baekhyun and taeyeon’s thing because that was one of main points of the post being shared at the time - so I completely looked over the kxk. But one line really stuck out to me.

“Kai is possibly paired with Krystal, this is being discussed. But due to unknown reasons, Kai doesn’t like couple pairings. Doesn’t like dating.”

I remember reading this and just taking a moment, like “huh.” I had a sense of relief(?). I don’t know how to explain it, but it hit me as kind of… reassuring? Like he’s not just going along with everything sm wants; he must be showing some level of resistance to media play - since him not liking the setups must’ve been causing some sort of an issue. It just made me feel a little better ok idk what I’m getting at nvm

I will admit, Kyungsoo came to mind. I read this line and I thought of Kyungsoo being one of those unknown reasons, and I entertained the idea for an hour or two before coming back to Earth and convincing myself that the possibility was just silly talk.

I remember finding this post very confusing, and I was very, very shocked and put-off. lmao not to be dramatic, but it literally felt like everything I’d ever known of exo and all that I had come to like and admire about them had all been fake and a lie. I was upset for a long time, too. (I’ve since gotten over it, but it really taught me not to trust everything sm puts out there. And that Dispatch is easily manipulated, and not a reliable source.)

2. 150531 + k-fan’s analysis + xiuchen’s “jagi” cover-up

The almighty “jagi” moment. It was one thing when I-fans where speculating about this moment back when occurred. We all like to think of the possibilities, but it was the language and culture barrier that had me mostly dismissing this moment at first. But it is an entirely different thing to see a k-fan basically confirm what we i-fans had been trying to figure out. I could really go on and on about this moment, but I’d just be saying all that’s been said in the post I’ve linked above; I’ve talked about several times in the past. So go read the linked post or go through my #jagi moment tag on @kaisoowls and you’ll have all you need to know. You’ll understand why I was and still am shook as fuck about it.

The entire day of 150531, still really sticks out to me - jagi moment, aside. Because their interactions were different that day; more… vivid, for a lack of a better term lol Kyungsoo’s eyes and his smiles looked very soft and warm when he looked at Jongin. His expressions held a lot of affection.

As a nice cherry on top, the OP of the “jagi analysis” even said that jagi is a confirmed thing amoung kfans, so literally… There’s not much else to say about that.

That being said, it’s very understandable why sm would’ve wanted to extinguish this, because rumors of homosexuality within a company can be quite devastating to their business (due to prejudice), so I’m not really surprised that sm would want to try and cover it up and pretend like it’s not anything meaningful or worthwhile. Which leads us onto the Monster showcase, and the birth of xiuchen’s “jagi” moment. (To be clear, I don’t hold anything against xiuchen at all, I’m very aware it was most probably all sm’s doings.)

3. Rumors of a gay couple + KxK confirmation

I’m sure you all remember the madness that ensued after that news company (I’m sorry that name is escaping me atm) threatened to publicly announce and out the gay couple that they had discovered. They literally stated that they were ready for the repercussions and lawsuits - they weren’t fucking around with this shit. All of speculation flooded around everywhere, everyone guessing and trying to figure out how the couple was - and of course, one of the main candidates was kadi.

I wasn’t happy at all about this. I wasn’t excited or looking forward to it as I saw many other kaisoo shippers posting about. I was fucking terrified of that slim possibility of it being kadi, because - realistically - I doubt it would’ve ended well for anyone involved. With the heavy prejudice and discrimination against homosexuality still going on, it would’ve possibly been very damaging for exo, and most importantly, jongin and kyungsoo. I’m sure they would get support, of course the would, but the number of people going against them would be far greater, possibly.

And then, behold. kxk is suddenly “outed” by Dispatch, and sm confirmed their relationship within hours of the scandal’s release. To say I was a little skeptical is kind of an understatement. I really did not believe this news at all when it was released. Especially not after the INNER WORKINGS OF SM post reemerged. Which quite literally stated that sm has had kxk setup for release since 2012. I called bullshit within the first 48hrs. And the circumstances at the time really set it in stone for me; I decided that I would support kadi. I would be logical and realistic about everything further that would ensue - but I would support kadi.

Chikara “It Came From Beneath the Sink” - Live Show Report September 22nd in Philadelphia, PA

Chikara returned to business as unusual at the Wrestle Factory in Northeast Philadelphia, following what I understood to be a fantastic King of Trios over Labor Day weekend in Easton, PA. I suffered some FOMO from not being there, so it was good to get back to the usual routine of their Saturday matinee schedule at their home base. Kris Levin officiated the majority of matches.

1. The Regime (Juan Francisco de Coronado and Chikara Campeones de Parejas Sloan Caprice & Rick Roland) beat The Hyper Beast Warriors (Oleg the Usurper, the Proletariat Boar of Moldova, and Hype Rockwell) when Juan made Boar pass out to a cross arm-breaker. This started out with a lot of fun action, including Oleg and Boar hitting a double suplex and doing their own riff on the Beer Money celebration. Then Boar was run shoulder-first into a ringpost on the outside, and he was worked over a lot by the Regime. I missed this somehow, but apparently Boar had the chance to tag out, but opted to go for a Gore instead that did not pan out. I thought this was a solid opener. Afterward, Oleg chastised Boar for not tagging out when he could, and then Hype went off on both of them for being selfish and not working with a team. Hype walked over to the interview area (lights were up, signaling some promo time) to speak with a new woman named Lola, and Hype continued to go off on his partners, calling them losers. That escalated quickly!

2. Cajun Crawdad beat Jawbreaker Josue with a top turnbuckle-assisted chokeslam. Fairly quick squash win for Crawdad over a new member of the Chikara enhancement talent roster (a student yet to debut with their own character). For anyone who has attended Chikara live this year, it was really obvious who this was under the mask.

3. The Proteus Wheel (Volgar & Callux the Castigator) beat The Colony (Fire Ant & Thief Ant) after hitting a double urinage on Thief Ant. Two-thirds of the 2018 King of Trios winners were very popular here as usual. Thief Ant was in the ring the most, attempting a body slam on Callux to no avail, and getting worked over by the two larger man. Fire Ant made it in for a quick barrage of hot offense, and Thief Ant was then able to hit his body slam on Callux, but their momentum was halted by the two monstrous members of the Proteus Wheel. No sign of Professor Nicodemus this time.

- They went to a quick intermission, which is something they started doing a few months ago, holding at least two short intermissions during the show as opposed to one long intermission in the middle. I got up during both, and during this one I noticed a guy in camo pants asking random fans about the whereabouts of Missile Assault Man, holding up a picture of him while a cameraman followed him.

4. Mick Moretti beat Rory Gulak with a TKO. This was my first time seeing Moretti live after missing out on his 2017 Chikara appearances, as well as he and his team making it to the finals of King of Trios. I liked what I saw of him here, pulling out a lot of fun holds and counters, and Gulak was really smooth as usual and played the straight man well. At one point, Moretti called for a piledriver on the ring apron, but then pulled the ring skirt up onto the mat, meaning the actual ring apron as opposed to the edge of the ring. Funny, but his piledriver was countered. This ended up being Moretti’s third straight singles win in Chikara, granting him three points to challenge for the Grand Championship. In a post-match interview, he said he didn’t know when he’d be back, but promised to win the title when he returns.

5. Lucas Calhoun, Jeremy Leary, and Blanche Babish beat The Nouveau Aesthetic (BLANK, Ursa Minor in the Night Sky, and Still Life with Apricots and Pears) when Calhoun rolled up BLANK after he had collided with Ursa Minor on the top rope. I felt this was a little clunky at times but fun overall, with a lot of the character interactions played for laughs. Bryce Remsburg reffed this match (and the previous match) and asked exactly what I’ve been wondering this year: why does BLANK bother with having suspenders on pants that don’t need them? The two clones Calhoun and Leary continue to impress, and Babish continues to improve. Afterward, an enraged BLANK grabbed a hold of Ursa Minor, had a tarp laid out on which to throw him, and had Still Life retrieve his paints. He said that the process was finished for Ursa Minor, and he squirted a bunch of paint all over him, as the show proceeded.

6. The Whisper beat Boomer Hatfield with what looked like a flowing 450 splash off the top. A new ref officiated this match. At least one clunky moment aside, I thought both guys held their own, with Boomer pulling off some impressive athleticism in a sequence that ended with a dropkick.

- Another quick intermission, and then...

7. Mike Quackenbush, Solo Darling, Officer Warren Barksdale, and Green Ant beat Hallowicked, Merlok, Frantik, and Sonny Defarge when Barksdale pinned Frantik with a tilt-a-whirl inverted DDT into a pin. Big fun Atomico action. Officer Magnum made a cameo during the introductions. Early on, the elder statesmen Quackenbush and Hallowicked had a terrific exchange, and in one cool moment, Merlok missed a senton and was immediately hit by senton himself by Green Ant, flying in with perfect timing. Green Ant and Darling were worked over a lot by the rudos before they were able to overcome it. In one of the last big moments of the match, Defarge wound up on one of his partners shoulders on the outside, and Quackenbush came flying onto them with a massive dive. The finish followed directly after this, with Barksdale and Frantik left in the ring.

Unfortunately, an injury occurred after that big dive. I’m not going to speculate who it was nor how he got hurt (I couldn’t make it out from where I was sitting), but he was helped out of the Wrestle Factory during the main event, with an ambulance arriving outside and paramedics taking him through the exit through the production office, a wall of Chikara students blocking the view of him.

8. Dasher Hatfield beat Travis Huckabee to retain the Chikara Grand Championship via submission with an abdominal stretch with a fist driven into the back. My favorite match of the show. Hatfield was named the Interim Grand Champion after the actual Grand Champion Mr. Touchdown (who won the title from de Coronado in August in a fantastic match) suffered an injury during the first night of King of Trios, so rather than get stripped of the title, Touchdown was allowed to select an interim champion (his step-cousin-in-law Hatfield) to defend it until he’s able to return. Huckabee I feel came into this match with a lot of momentum, accruing four straight singles wins, including winning June’s Johnny Kidd Invitational. So I saw this match going either way. It started out very technical before building up to heated exchanges on the outside and big nearfalls towards the end. Huckabee had a counter for what Hatfield was dishing out, including countering an attempted Grand Slam off the top into a butterfly superplex. Hatfield was finally able to come out on top with simple hold after the two jockeyed for position. 

Outside of the big injury, a quality show all around with another strong main event and a lot of fun tag action.
