so this is right on the first chapter of eroica, where the characters are looking at a van vermeer exhibition. everyone is particularly drawn to his beautiful painting of the christ - only to then find out it's not a vermeer, but a fake, painted by han van meegeren, who was a real life guy who forged six vermeer paintings and was put on trial for it

anyway im saying all this because i looked that van megeren painting up and it looks like this
