okay i get assigned my dissertation supervisor next week and i’m kind of hoping i don’t get assigned my first choice (mushroom foraging) anymore because i am rapidly becoming fascinated by eels and would love to do a project tracking their changes in habitat

#my second choice is a GIS-based thing where i can track species/ecosystems #and oh i would love to do something like that with eels #sometimes my interest-based nervous system is a blessing #read: i would love to do my dissertation on eel spatial ecology #also two of my six potential diss advisors would probably let me do something with eels #so please everyone pray i get assigned my second or fourth choice #also if anyone wants to talk with me about taxonomy or evolution ever then please hit me up because i love it SO much #i know it’s my degree but i’m finally enjoying it and it’s so lovely #these are my thoughts #ecology thoughts
