For your road trip prompt ask: Dreamling going to a fairâșïž Have a safe trip!
oooh I so want to write whatâs in a name? Dream & Hob stopping at a state or county fair somewhere on their weird ass sex romp-slash-road trip, but that fic is set in winter and I just donât think itâs plausible. and yeah itâs fanfic and I can do whatever I want but internal consistency is important! dangit! so I will make up my own little winter festival lol
Theyâve gotten a slow start, so wrapped up in trading slow kisses that it had taken housekeeping knocking on the motel door to pull them out of bed. Itâs their third day on the road, and Hob still kind of canât believe his luck â that he's woken up next to this dream of a man three mornings in a row, now, and that Dream seems just as captivated by Hob as Hob is by him.
Theyâve left the worst of the weather behind them as they make their way gradually in a southward direction, but thereâs still a bite to the air, and more often than not the sky is a sort of dull grey that threatens snow but never backs up its threats. Itâs nice to step out in the chill for a minute when they stop for gas, and even nicer to blast the heat when they get back in the car.
Hob notices the first sign for the county midwinter fair a little while after they stop for lunch. Theyâre on one of the smaller county roads, not the interstate, or else he probably wouldnât have seen it at all; the fair seems like one of those slightly weird, uniquely small town America kind of things that just donât have traction outside of a fifty mile radius of their location.
When the pass the second sign he touches Dream on the shoulder and points it out. âWhat do you say? Want to stop and check it out?â
âTrinity County Midwinter Fair and Festival,â Dream reads aloud as Hob slows the car. Thereâs nobody else on the road. âMusic, midway, food trucks, ice carving competition.â He snorts as Hon hits the accelerator again. âWhat is a midway?â
âItâs like, rides and stuff. Theyâll probably have a Ferris wheel and some of those rigged carnival games.â
âAh. The village fete, complete with coconut toss.â
Dreamâs mouth curves into a smile, and Hob has to restrain himself from causing an accident by trying to kiss him while the car is still moving.
They follow the signs and park in a large field, following the sounds of the crowd to where a little row of games booths and rides has been erected. There is indeed a Ferris wheel, as well as a tilt-a-whirl and bumper cars, all brightly lit against the backdrop of forested mountains.
Hob is delighted. He urges Dream from booth to booth, only realizing about halfway down the row that heâs seized his hand with such gusto that theyâre still holding hands almost ten minutes later. He grins apologetically and drops it, only for Dream to take it back and deliberately interlace their fingers.
They try elephant ears, which are a bit, and deep fried Oreos, which are not. Hob lets himself be talked into playing a ring toss game â well, he doesnât try too hard to stop the man from convincing him â and actually wins a small and very ugly teddy bear, which he presents to Dream, who rolls his eyes but carefully carries it with them for the rest of the afternoon.
The ice carving competition is surprisingly compelling. There are only a handful of contestants, but each has their own unique set of tools and artistic style â one extremely petite but fierce-looking lady with a long grey braid uses a chainsaw â and Dream and Hob stop several times in their perambulation to watch their creations emerge from the massive blocks of ice. For the first time, Hob gets to watch Dream-the-artist watch other artists at work, and itâs⊠remarkable. Those blue eyes take in everything with such startling clarity and intensity.
Hob wants to watch Dream create something.
They save the Ferris wheel for last. Itâs nearing sunset when they finally go up, Dream wrapped tight in his thrift store coat and scarf. To the west, the sinking sun is staining the sky in shades of pink, orange, and gold, and the warm light makes Dream look even more like a work of art than he usually does.
When their rickety little carriage pauses at the very top of the wheel, Dream sighs and leans into Hob, resting his head on his shoulder, and Hob leans back and kisses Dream twice, on the temple and the forehead.
Something resembling love is welling up in him. He tries to swallow it back down, tries to transmute it into something more acceptable, something Dream might actually be able to accept, but he just ends up with a lump in his throat and after a moment, Dream is the one to break the silence.
âThank you for suggesting we stop,â he says, breath puffing white. âI â loved this.â
His hand tightens in the crook of Hobâs elbow where they are tangled together. He still has the teddy tucked under his arm.
âMe too,â Hob says. âI loved it too.â
come and drop a prompt in my inbox and I'll write you a drabble while Iâm being a passenger princess on this road trip <3
#dreamling#the sandman#my writing#i am deliriously tired and havenât even reread this so Iâll probably look at it tomorrow and find eleventeen horrible mistakes#such is life#hardly a road trip#hardly an answer

My Oreo Creation Flavors
Food
Type of Funny Food: Event
Introduced: May 2017 / April 2018
Location: Online / Supermarkets
With Oreo creating so many flavorful variations of their typical sandwich cookie, it wasn't a shock that the company eventually elected to let customers have input on a new one. Enter "My Oreo Creation", an online contest that allowed creative Oreo fans to submit their flavor concepts for a chance to win a grand prize, as well as the opportunity to see their creation come to life on supermarket shelves.
The contest began in May of 2017, but the three finalists weren't announced- and released into stores for public consumption- until late April the next year.
These flavors were-
Kettle Corn, a golden Oreo cookie with kettle corn-flavored cream filled with puffed millet pieces,
Cherry Cola, a half-vanilla, half-cherry cookie with popping candy inside to simulate fizz,
and Piña Colada, a thin golden Oreo cookie with pineapple and coconut flavored cream.
After many many votes, it was Cherry Cola that ended up on top. The person who submitted it, a woman named Eden from California, earned $500,000 for her entry.

The Great Quidditch Bake Off
Summary
James just wanted to raise money for a Quidditch charity, Lily wanted to do that plus promote muggle rights and muggle technology, Sirius wanted to impress Remus, Remus just wanted to win the bloody competition. But with James and Lily's massive row just before the start of the show, Gilderoy Lockhart and Dolores Umbridge revealed as the two judges, McGonagall on the war-path and the muggle crew in meltdown, our friends appear to have bitten off more than they can chew. Who will win the Great Quidditch Bake Off?
Special thanks to @joyseuphoria for the wonderful angst to fluff prompt "you're allowed to fall apart a little", you are the best! This is for you as a thank you and for @therealrjlupin who is a GBBO fan and my bestie đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
(PS Iâm sure thereâs been other GBBO- inspired AUs so apologies if so and hopefully this is different enough!)
Chapter 1Â -Â Â Over-Cooked
âWelcome to this yearâs edition of the Great Quidditch Bake Off! This year, the charity that has been chosen to benefit from this competition is St Nicholasâ Centre for Quidditch-Related Injuries, in the paediatric hospital situated next door to St Mungoâs. And, for the first time, I will be joining you not as a judge, but as a presenterâ.
Boos all around.
âQuiet!â McGonagallâs lips quirked upwards despite herself, and the room descended into hushed silence once more.
âAside from the judges, nothing has changed, wands will be left at the door, the tent is suitably enchanted to prevent any of you from using wandless and non-verbal spells. Once the judges say a few words, and the cameras start lolling, excuse me, rolling, you will each take up position behind your counter. As ever, there will be three challenges - a signature bake, a technical challenge, and a show-stopper. However, only the top four bakers will make it into the third and final challenge where you will get to show off your breath-taking creations. Iâm sure you will all do rather well.â
She looked down at the eight contestants and smiled.
âThe two judges this year need no introduction. Once again, we welcome back Gilderoy Lockhart, only recently graduated from Hogwarts, but already an international sensation since the publication of his bestselling, er, memoire âFrom Guilty Pleasure Oreo Cheesecake to Black Forest Lust Bars- A Catalogue of How to Win: My Love Life in Desserts,â she pursed her mouth shut, as though the previous sentence had been painful to utter.
âFor fu- â
âLanguage, Mr Potter!â she interrupted the dark-haired boy half-heartedly. âIâm sure you are all, well, most of you, dying to impress Mr Lockhart, and who knows, with luck he may extend one of his famous handshakes to the star baker.â
She heard a couple of exasperated snorts amid the squeals of excitement.
âAnd, for the first time, we will have a new judge joining Mr Lockhart. We were initially going to offer the post to a staff member who is a well- known culinary genius, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, but- â
âWho?â said the muggle Health & Safety Expert, Tom.
âNearly Headless Nick,â said James.
âBut unfortunately, while he can spot a half-baked croissant, a collapsed tiered cake and the lack of air bubbles in a good focaccia,â McGonagall continued.
âBut heâs, well, thereâs no good way to put this, dead?â said Remus, eyebrows knotted together.
âHow dare you, young man!â the ghost of Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington wafted into the tent, screeching in horror. âThere is no calling for such unreasonable, rude and wholly unjustifiable- â
âOur special effects department is rather skilled,â McGonagall said to Tom, with a stern sniff, any questions dying on his lips, effectively silenced. âSir Nicholas, get out.â
âThe indignity! The audacity!â Nearly Headless Nick wailed as he disappeared through the tent, grabbing a hold of his hair and pulling upwards, until his head toppled over to the right.
âIncredible!â whispered Dick, the muggle who thought he was the producer.
âWe are also âbroadcastingâ this live across the nation, using very complicated and innovative muggle technology and special boxes called Televisions, I believe, Miss Evans?â said McGonagall, ignoring them all.
âThatâs right, Professor, thereâs one in the Great Hall which Benjy and I- â
âBenjy and I,â James muttered under his breath, making air-quotes with his hands and a disgruntled sound.
Lily shot him a dirty look.
âWhich Benjy Fenwick, who is very talented and a close friend of mine- â Lily said, looking at James pointedly.
âGet on with it!â James growled.
âBenjamin and I transfigured into a large cinema screen, and one smaller TV for each of the common rooms, aside from the Slytherin one. We have also set one up in the town square at Hogsmeade.â
âOh? Why did you deliberately exclude some of your fellow students?â said McGonagall frowning severely at her, spectacles sliding down her nose in disapproval.
âThey refused the offer, Minnie, bigoted wankers that they all are,â said Sirius, languidly sticking his feet on top of the chair in front of him, Jamesâ chair, causing it to wobble. James smacked the back of his shins.
Snape glared at him from across the room.
âOi!â said Dick, looking at Sirius with his hands on his hips. âThis is a family show, we canât have you cursing like- â
âIn this case, we will disregard it,â McGonagall said primly. âIâm afraid it really is the only adequate description that comes to mind. Any further rudeness, however, will result in detention, Sirius Black.â
âYes, Prof,â he said, shooting a triumphant look at Snivellus who ignored him, seething silently.
âThe other judge!â Harriet, the muggle cameraperson, hissed from behind McGonagall.
âAh, yes, and before I forget, our second, er⊠fascinating new judge. She is well-known for her bigo- for her love of pureblood cooking, having published extensively on the matter. Her bestselling Pink Cookbooks Series include âThe Purest Treats - Secret Recipes from the kitchens of the Sacred Twenty-Eightâ, âTwenty-Eight Cakes to Woo Your Pureblood Loverâ and âAlways Pure â Aristocratic Desserts To Kill Forâ. I am of course talking about Dolores Jane Umbri- â
âYou have got to be kidding me!â Lilyâs emerald eyes were wide as she stared at McGonagall in dismay. âThat absolute cow? No fu- â
James Potter made a loud, retching noise to cover up for her.
âSorry, that was me, Head Boy, trying not to puke,â he said, sticking his hands in his pockets, not sounding in the least apologetic.
McGonagall rolled her eyes and fixed them both with a resigned look.
âWithout further ado, please welcome Dolores Umbridge and Gilderoy Lockhart!â she said, clapping her hands politely.
âOh Merlin, what the hell have we signed up for?â groaned Lily, head falling over the back of her chair, giving James unfettered access to her desperately attractive silhouette, long neck outstretched as she slumped dramatically.
âNightmare,â confirmed Remus watching in horror as Umbridge entered the tent, resplendent in a pink and white suit and matching pink specs.
âI think I may have to leave,â said James, flinging his feet onto the ground and standing up impulsively.
âAnd give Snivellus a greater chance of winning the GQBO? Shut up and sit down, you twat!â Sirius hissed at him, grabbing hold of his shirt, and pulling.
James toppled onto his seat, hesitating.
âIf you leave, I leave, and if I leave, Remus leaves, and the chances of Lily have to interact with that greaseball increase astronomically,â his best friend said, pulling his chair forwards to whisper conspiratorially. âAnd saving Lily from that, old boy, is worth putting up with a lot.â
âAre you sure youâre not just doing this to ogle at Lockhart?â James huffed.
Sirius shot him a scornful look.
âLockhart? Heâs like a smear of bubopus in comparison to Moonyâs beauty!â
âYouâre so far gone, youâre pathetic,â James grinned manically.
âShut up! Itâs not my fault that my boyfriend is half-Veela. No, itâs quite simply the case that- â
Jamesâ peels of laughter echoed around the tent, and he clamped his hand over his mouth as Minnie and the muggles glared at him, again.
âI get it, Padfoot,â he whispered when he was able to speak coherently. âYou never had any interest in this competition, you donât even have a sweet tooth! You just didnât fancy the idea of Lovely Lockhart hanging out with our Moony- â
âOur?â
âYour poor Moony. So now youâre going to put yourself through all sorts of stress, let alone ridicule, just to be able to send the slimy prick one of your death glares? You donât think your attractiveness levels will fall considerably when Moony figures out your tarts have soggy bottoms and-â
âFuck you, Prongs, if anyone here is going to end up with a soggy bottom, itâs going to be you!â
âMe?â Jamesâ hand flew into his birdâs nest hair. âHow dare you suggest that one of Mia Potterâs creations could ever-â
âNo offence, Prongs, but your cauldrons have a habit of melting or exploding, soggy-bottomed tarts are going to be the least of your problems,â Sirius tossed his silky hair and loosened his tie rakishly, front legs of his chair off the floor as he leaned back and shot a quick glance at his boyfriend, who was staring at Lockhart.
âIâve no idea who youâre currently trying to impress, Padfoot,â said James, rolling his eyes and folding his arms across his chest. âBut you look like an idiot, and youâve already dropped down from a solid 8/10 to a-â
âEight?â Sirius had to grab a hold of his stupid friendâs arm to steady himself, and to clear his throat to stop the unattractive high-pitched squeal. âEight? Iâll have you know Iâm a fucking ten by anyoneâs standards, you -â
âWhatever,â James scoffed dismissively. âPoint is, we are all agreed that Remus is a good 15/10 on an average day.â
âObviously,â Sirius said.
âObviously,â James nodded. âSo you making a complete idiot of-â
âDonât give a fuck, Prongs, Iâm not a coward, Iâm staying. Whatâs life without a little risk? You, on the other hand, Iâm beginning to think-â
âOkay, fine, Iâll do it for Lily! But if I end up killing Umbridge or Snape, or both-â
âPreferably both, old chap.â
âI shanât be held responsible for my actions!â James said, leaning forwards and casting a quick glance at the obnoxiously beautiful red-haired witch a few seats down from him, who was studiously avoiding eye contact. âLilyâs mad at me as it is, fucking livid, and with Umbridge judging, I donât blame her if she tries to hex every single pureblood in her vicinity, me included.â

Twitter Marketing Made Easy: The All-in-One Guide
Are you ready to learn to utilize Twitter as the perfect marketing tool for increasing brand awareness, boosting conversions, driving conversations around your brand and boosting website traffic?
If the answer is yes, you're in the right place because today we're diving into the ins and outs of Twitter marketing for beginning and professionals alike.
Ready to get started? Get ready to take notes and let's party!
What IS Twitter Marketing?
Twitter: a vast online world where you can pretty much learn about any topic or industry you're interested in. And also a PERFECT place to market most brands with rare exceptions.
Twitter is fun, easy to get the hang of and offers a variety of tools and options for marketing professionals to utilize when looking to grow their online following.
It's an idea, or plan that involves putting money and energy into creating a strategy that will drive traffic, engagement and sales for your business.
Twitter marketing can be especially effective for brands that put a focus on politics, blue collar industries, the media industry, and B2B sales.
Whether you're totally new to the concept of Twitter marketing or know your way around the block, this guide is going to help take your online brand to the next level through strategical analysis and planning for results you can SEE.
How Can Twitter Marketing Benefit My Business?
Twitter is, in a lot of ways, the PERFECT marketing platform because it costs NOTHING to have a presence on Twitter, promote your brand organically, share related content with your target market, provide assistance and customer service, AND to top it all off, Twitter gives you the opportunity to expand your reach and find conversations that are taking place around your brand.
This free exposure, (though it takes work) can be an extremely powerful marketing tool for your business if you decide to learn how to properly wield it.
And that's what we're putting the spotlight on today.
What is a Twitter Marketing Strategy and How Can it Benefit My Business
A Twitter marketing strategy is a blueprint that lays out exactly how your brand will approach the creation, publication and distribution of content, as well as how you will approach analyzing and improving upon your efforts.
It takes the same amount of energy and work to create a Twitter marketing strategy  as it does any other social media strategy, so be prepared to:
#1 Create buyer personas
#2 Create content (it should be engaging and unique)
#3 Plan a content schedule
#4 Analyze the results of your strategy
RELATED:
How to Create a Twitter Marketing Strategy
Unfortunately, Twitter marketing isn't as simple as just showing up and tweeting. Like we mentioned before, there's quite a bit of legwork to do prior to beginning to see massive success on the platform.
#1 Run an Audit on Your Twitter Account
If you don't already have a Twitter account, this is when you would create one. However, for those of you who have an existing account, it's time for an audit.
Look over your whole profile and make notes about what content has performed and what hasn't in the past.
This is also a great time to update contact information, URLs and analyze the performance of the hashtags you're using.
Your Twitter Analytics Dashboard will give you all of the information you need to correctly audit your profile to find out what's working and what isn't and what you can improve to grow your audience.
#2 Embrace a Brand Voice
So what particularly interests crowds on Twitter?
As one of the most engaging places to find your audience, Twitter marketing is impossible without embracing a particular brand voice and tone.
This is because the Twitter universe is looking specifically for businesses who are authentic and true to themselves, even when it comes to content and the way it is presented.
Are you fun-loving and mischievous or more on the professional end of the spectrum? Maybe you want to be a little snarky, engaging and informative all at once.
Whatever tone you settle on, just make sure it's an accurate depiction of your brand as a whole.
#3 Utilize Hashtags for Twitter Marketing
Tweets with relevant hashtags get almost DOUBLE the engagement and views than those that don't utilize them with each tweet.
Now, this absolutely does NOT mean that it is wise to load up every tweet with hashtags. Instead, be mindful of which hashtags you're using and keep it to 5 tops.
Some brands also take the time to create their own hashtag and encourage others to use it as well. This can be a hashtag around a particular event, product or related service.
If you're having trouble finding which hashtags are best for your brand, Sprout Social has a trend report that's great for keeping up with #whatstrending and we 10/10 recommend.
#4 Determine the Best Times to Post on Twitter
If you want your tweets to get the most exposure, you'll need to pinpoint when the optimal times to post are for your particular business and industry.
A good general rule of thumb is to post anytime between 9 and 11 on Wednesdays and Fridays, but the window is a lot larger with better research.
(Between 8 AM and 4 PM on Fridays is a GREAT time to garner the most engagement.)
#5 Schedule Your Tweets to Save Time (And Sanity!)
While there are certainly exceptions to this, (we're looking at you, Oreo. ;)) the majority of your Tweets should be planned, written and any relevant content designed several weeks in advance with constant monitoring to ensure it's still up to par and not going to ruffle feathers by being posted at the wrong time.
The main take-away is to be CONSISTENT. Even if you're only posting once a day, it's important to stay on top, but also stay RELEVANT.
#6 Go All Out With Engagement
Twitter marketing: it's all about engaging with your audience, sharing in their struggles, providing solutions and educating them around HOW you can help them achieve their goals.
But in addition, it's also about engaging with the individuals who are talking about your brand, including when it relates to support questions, praise and disappointment.
The truth is that twitter marketing can be a GREAT way to address customer service issues when you're properly wielding it as a tool for help and support.
#7 Set Goals and Make a Move to Reach Them
One of the most important parts of Twitter marketing is setting attainable goals and taking the steps you need to reach them. This can include setting goals for follower counts, an X% engagement increase or any measurable goal-so long as you're keeping up with it and truly working to make it an attainable one.
You can also set goals for general Twitter marketing growth. Maybe you've set a goal for when you're planning on discussing ads with a social paid ads agency, or you're working to generate leads through a downloadable guide and/or email newsletter.
However you decide to approach the situation, just remember to keep it attainable so that you can feel confident about reaching your goals and expanding growth over time. Remember: no great progress happens over night.
Twitter Marketing for Business
Okay, so you've got your profile optimized, you're setting goals and you're using hashtags, but there's more to it in the grand scheme of Twitter marketing for business...right?
#1 Brand Your Profile
You don't want anyone to have to GUESS about whether or not your Twitter profile belongs to you. This might take a little work, but branding your profile is a (very) important part of the Twitter marketing for business world.
A few ways you can do this would include:
Branding your Twitter handle: like @skincare_central or @nextgenmedgroup. As another example, our handle is @sociallyin on every platform. No exceptions.
Update your Twitter Header: by providing a header that is unique to your brand and includes your logo, you're reminding people who are are with just a glance.
Update your Twitter profile photo: the preferred approach to this would be your logo and/or a picture of yourself if you're taking the influencer approach.
Update your Twitter bio: You'll have 160 characters or less to work with here, so it needs to be direct, to the point and personal.
Don't forget a website URL!
Give your company a birthday: this can be the day your company was founded or how long you've actively been in business- maybe the day you started dreaming big enough to consider your company an option!
#2 Utilize Twitter Marketing for Driving Traffic to Your Website
Anytime someone tweets a direct link to your website, mentions your website or includes information from your website, it's time for a RETWEET!
You can also embed tweets on your website, consider launching twitter ads and regularly incorporate your URL in tweets.
#3 Get Your Business Verified on Twitter
Depending on the size of you company and your following, you may want to consider getting verified sooner rather than later.
This can help build trust with your audience because they can be immediately aware of the fact that YES they're conversing with a verified company and that it's truly you. And you're there to help them.
#4 Focus on Growing Your Twitter Following
The larger your Twitter following, the more people will see your content, right? Of course. So growing your Twitter following should be among the most important aspects of your Twitter marketing campaign.
Thankfully, there are several relatively easy ways to make this happen.
Making ALL of your Twitter content easily shareable. Anywhere.
Using brand-specific, unique and relevant hashtags.
Hosting giveaways and contests.
Asking questions.
Getting a push in the right direction with help from relevant Twitter influencers.
Interact with your followers by sharing their content, re-tweeting, liking and commenting on their Tweets. Prove you're worthy of a follow!
Use images and videos to boost views.
Sometimes, following relevant users in your industry can also be a great way to get some attention. Especially if you're taking the time to interact on a daily basis.
Remember: it only takes a few minutes to drop a like and a comment. So make it happen!
Twitter Marketing Best Practices
When it comes to Twitter marketing, utilizing the best platform practices are the ultimate key to success. đ
In this instance, we're going to go over some of the lesser-known best practices to give you a head start on the best ways to give YOUR brand a boost in the Twitter marketing realm.
#1 Test, Test, TEST! And Then Test AGAIN!
There is a universe of things to learn from your Twitter marketing efforts. By utilizing your successes, failures and anything and everything in between, you're giving yourself the opportunity to continually improve your efforts over time.
What messages are truly resonating with your audience? Which content seems to draw them in more easily and readily? Is there particular copy, images or hashtags that often lead to more sales?
These are all things you can be taking notes on and learning from- even in the very beginning of the process.
Every effort is worth measuring!
#2 Plan Ahead With Evergreen Tweets
In *addition* to your content schedule full of tweets on the daily, we 10/10 recommend storing a large selection of Evergreen, approved Tweets for when you need some extra content, for whatever reason.
This will help you stay on top, even in a pinch!
#3 Crown a Content Theme King
Another great way to create engagement and garner excitement from your audience is crowing a different content theme king a few days a week.
For example: mindful Monday, tell-all Tuesday, studious Saturday, etc.
This will also make planning and scheduling content so much easier!
#4 Improve Your Response Time with a List of Answers to Commonly Asked Questions
It's all in the title, y'all.
Save yourself and your team an immense amount of time AND garner more trust and care points from your audience with lightning fast response times thanks to already answered questions.
(Saving them in a Google spreadsheet will help you keep everything organized as efficiently as possible.)
#5 Keep an Eye Out for Relevant Opportunities to Connect
By staying on top of trending hashtags, relevant conversations and hashtags and looking out for mentions, you're opening the door to more opportunities to connect and grow your following.
A 10/10 as far as best practices go.
FAQs
Unfortunately, we're well aware of the fact that one blog could not sufficiently answer the many questions around this topic, but we definitely want to try our best.

Oreo Is Releasing 3 New Fan-Approved Flavors Next Year â Food News
If you could create any Oreo cookie combination, what would be at the top of your list? I think my personal choices might be cannoli, apple-tini, banana bread, Boston cream pie, German chocolate cake, candied jalapeño, and a double-stuff made with thin cookies. Okay fine, it's not a flavor, but it would save me considerable time in removing the middles to make larger cookies! Please tell me I'm not the only one who does that?
Apparently I'm not the only one who dreams up Oreo flavors. This year Oreo launched "My Creation Contest," where cookie fans dreamed up new flavors and the top three picks would actually be made into cookies. Well, this week they finally announced the three finalists and I'm very excited about their picks! Want to know what they are?

Oreo is taking (and making) flavor suggestions, including avocado
Oreo, traditionally one of America's most modest cookies, has decided to go big or die trying.Â
Its latest hashtag campaign, ##MyOreoCreation, encouraged followers to come up with their own imaginative Oreo creations. The company promised to make very limited editions of people's best ideas â which apparently included an actual Avocado Oreo.
Mmm mmm ... OK.
SEE ALSO: Oreo releases a tasty new flavor just in time for National Doughnut Day
The campaign, which has been going on since May, brought out the best and worst in people's brains. On the list was Coffee, Glazed Donut, Bacon â all respectable enough inventions â plus Nut 'N Honey (great), Raspberry Danish (good), as well as Unicorn and Millennial pink â which is just too #ViralMarketing for my taste.

Surprises came these last few weeks when Nabisco doubled down on its request and began sending some lucky tweeters a sampling of their flavor suggestions.Â

If that doesn't scare you off, consider the person who ordered Kettle Corn and the other who imagined Cherry Cola. Both brave, insanely sweet creations.
What ever happened to good old fashioned chocolate cookie and monoglycerides?
Unfortunately, the company only produced enough cookies to give to select fans who actually participated in the challenge. TheÂ
Whatever. It's a hashtag campaign, and my #MyOreoCreationIsBetterThanYours.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW; @ EdenFolwell I'm here with Ms.Eden Folwell, the creator of Cherry Cola, Oreo Cookies with Popping Candy embezzled into the cream. This flavor was released earlier this month, May 2018. My review of the cookies were released on May 8th, if you would like to see what I had to say about these wonderful cookies! Letâs jump right in to our interview because of character limit. SodaBrand : To start off, what lead you to create this flavor of Oreo Cookies ? EdenF : I read that the winning finalist cookies were going to be released in summer, so I tried to think of summer flavors. I thought about how my mom used to take me and sisters to the beach or the park with a bucket of chicken, a six pack of soda and a package of Oreo Cookies. So I was trying to capture that feeling summer, soda and Oreo cookies. SodaBrand : What were your first thoughts on your signature flavor when tried for the very first time ? EdenF : When I found out they were making Cherry Cola (I entered a few flavors) I was cautiously optimistic. I was worried the Cherry might be too strong and thereâs nothing as bad as fake fruit flavors. But, I loved them. First off, the package smells just like soda when you open it! Then my first thought was that it tastes just like a cherry coke ice cream float. Itâs so good! I was really happy. And the popping candy is perfection. It tastes better than I hoped it would. SodaBrand : Have you entered into this contest before ? EdenF : This is the first year they have held this contest, but the rules allowed one entry per day. I entered quite a few times by text. I remember submitting orange creamsicle and ginger lime. I also entered some floral flavors like rose and lavender. And then I think I put some wild ones in there like chocolate chipotle. SodaBrand : Can you tell us anything about the âbehind the scenesâ of the creation of your flavor ? EdenF : The behind-the-scenes process was kept secret from me until I was notified in Dec 2017. And then I only heard a little bit about it when I read the public statements from the contest sponsor. I heard that they made 20 flavors in the test lab including Galaxy, Avocado Toast, Unicorn and of course, the three finalist flavors. Over 300 sample packages were sent out to people who had submitted the flavors. This was done just for fun. Finalists were then chosen by a panel of judges based on taste, creativity, and originality of the submission. Not just on identifying a particular flavor. SodaBrand : What would you like to tell your competitors who are along with you in this contest ? EdenF : Iâm so grateful to be in this position with just two other people. For one of us it will be life changing. For the other two, itâs still a really awesome story to tell. I have been talking a little bit online with Dave who created Pina Colada. Heâs a super sweet guy (@fledgingbirders on Twitter) and weâve been cheering each other on. I canât remember now if he found me or if I found him first, but we follow each other on social media and sometimes forward a good review to each other. As for Robert, who created Kettle Corn, we have both looked around a bit online and canât find him. Maybe heâs got an awesome ground game going where heâs from, but I havenât seen him post online! If I found him I would just wish him luck. All three of us have won an amazing finalist prize, so winning the grand prize is just the icing on the cake. Or cookie! SodaBrand : Wow! Such an inspiring story! I'm so happy that you've won place for Cherry Cola Oreo's ! Please vote for Cherry Coke Oreo Cookies ! You can find all the details through Edenâs Profile ( @EdenFolwell ). Every vote counts !

The Next Generation of Oreos
As a lover of Oreos my top two favorites have to be the original and Birthday Cake.
Oreo is constantly putting new flavors on the shelves, but what I love the most is how they are trying to get their die hard Oreo fans involved by having them pitch new flavors. A question I do have is if they started this trend because they were looking for more people to follow them on social media. They do say that they like how their customers have these new and exciting ideas, but at times I feel like they are looking for more people to follow them on social media. I think about this because in order to submit their idea they need to go through social media and use #MyOreoCreation and #Contest.
I have to admit that just like many Iâm an active user of Instagram. It is personally my favorite social media platform and it is the one I visit the most. I find it funny because I remember when this contest first got started they quickly got thousands of people posting their ideas and now it has over 14 thousand post which I think is unbelievable. I honestly thought that most people didnât care that much about Oreo flavors, but on the other hand itâs super easy to use social media and post something because itâs right at our finger tips. Â
I feel like Oreo made a smart move by coming up with this contest. They were able to get the community talking through social media and get them connected just through the hashtag. They are also standing out from a lot of other companies because their customers decide which flavor will end up hitting the shelves. Knowing that just proves that they value their customers and want feedback from them. They want to make their customers happy and this was a good move to get people involved and get people talking. Not just through social media, but also through word of mouth.
It might sound crazy, but I remember sitting at the dining hall and the table right next to me was going on about different flavors. They even headed to social media to pitch their flavor. In my opinion they probably did this because they thought they had a chance of getting picked and winning the big money. I mean I give them props for being bold and getting their ideas out there, but after hearing some of their creations I donât think they made it very far. If you are wondering what they came up it was pretty gross and something I would never try. Their top two were Sour Cream and Onion Oreo and Gummy Bear Oreos. They were creative with the Gummy Bear idea because they were going to have every flavor. Lets just say Iâm very happy that I have not seen these types of Oreos on the shelves in Target or Wegmans.
Since social media is the biggest part of this contest there were times that I would log onto Twitter and Instagram to see the updates on peopleâs creations, but I also came across some celebrities like Tituss Burgess and Katie Lowes. This was another good way to get people involved because a lot of times celebrities start trends and once a new trend is out people jump on it. I personally donât follow Burgess or Lowes, but if I was following them and saw that they were interested in this and wanted new flavors I feel like I would be intrigued and go the extra step to find out more. I mean that is just me, but people like to follow what celebrities do and a lot of people also look up to celebrities and feel that if they do something then itâs the cool thing to do.
I definitely think that Oreo should take advantage of giving free samples like in Costco or Sams Club and the other big supermarkets. I think this can help them see if people really do enjoy them. They can have people try one and before they leave the table they have to fill out a little survey saying whether or not they would buy it or not. Even though thereâs people who are requesting a certain flavor does not mean people will continue to buy it. I feel that a lot of times when a new product comes out there is a ton of hype and then it starts to fade. I know it definitely happens for me. Sometimes I will try a new product and I will like it, but not enough to constantly buy it. Â I know Oreo is a huge company, but it is never a bad idea to remind people about their product and how good it really is. Especially, since many people try to stay away from snacks that have a ton of sugar and are high in calorie. This may be an easy way to get consumers trying their new items, but also buying their original products.
These are just my ideas and my reflection after reading the article âOreo Has an Explosive New Flavor, and Wants You to Create Its Next Oneâ After getting my thoughts out about the topic of Oreos Iâm definitely heading to Target to get a pack. Oh yeah and obviously some milk as when so I can dunk them. But seriously, if youâre reading this now and have Oreos in front of you I have to say that you are very lucky and eat an extra one for me. I know itâs extra calories, but Oreos are always worth it because they never disappoint. Â

New Oreo Flavors Were Chosen and the Results Are Interesting to Say the Least
via Pop Sugar
The results of the My Oreo Creation Contest have been announced and the new flavors will be hitting shelves in May 2018. That may seem like a long time, but you may need the coming months to prepare your palate for these new flavors.
The finalists of the contest are a bit, unconventional. The new flavors are Kettle Corn, Cherry Cola, and Piña Colada Oreo Thins. Like the Layâs chipâŠ
