so do beta readers in fandom just... not correct grammatical errors or does no one use betas anymore

please fucking edit your work or have someone who knows what they’re doing edit it for you (i will do it but it doesn’t have to be me???) so i can actually read more than one in ten stories ppl post

paragraphs should be separated by at least one line. any kind of dialogue should have ending or continuing punctuation, INSIDE the quotation marks. anytime the speaker switches, a new paragraph starts. epithets should be used sparingly if at all. use “says” or “said” more often than other things (yells, moans, utters, rasps) or you sound like you’re writing my fucking immortal. i could go on and this isn’t even TOUCHING the spelling errors i see constantly.

i know none of this is for a grade and not everyone has my bg but i would be so horridly embarrassed to put out anything that looks like what im running into every time i open a tab. most things i find i can’t even make it through the first paragraph, much less chapter.

just bc it’s for fandom/for free doesn’t mean it should be sloppy. if ur gonna post this shit don’t get mad when ppl critique ur work.

if ur gonna write, maybe learn a thing or two abt writing, or read some actual books instead of fanfic for a while. ffs.
