^ exactly, this. It's absurd. Sometimes i feel second-hand embarrassment for the writers.

It's a shame they decided to change, and i'd say ruin, the source material completely, creating time/cultural inconsistencies (acting like sexual maturity/general marriage age of Westeros was 21, as if it was not 14-15 as it actually used to be back in those times, acting like Targaryens marrying each other was something disgusting, and not sth absolutely NORMAL for their race and family, Viserys shouting "she's your niece!!!" at Daemon, while Viserys himself had married his very own cousin Aemma + shouting "she's just a girl" at Daemon for wanting a 17-year old while Viserys himself had married a 11 year-old Aemma and then 18-year old Alicent, but ok) or Daemon giving the absurd "you were a child" explanation for not marrying 17-year old Rhaenyra while on the show he married a 17-year-old-looking (and also on the show much younger than Rhaenyra Laena - remember Milly on the tourney and the child-Laena actress next to her with child Laenor?)- like, where's your logic sir???? - the writers just pushed their 21st century views on the ancient society of magic and dragons - that's Hess and Condal for you), then of course making characters they dislike seem much more evil than they're actually supposed to be (Daemon), making some look like s*luts for no reason at all (inexperienced Rhaenyra feeling hot after making otu with Daemon, going straight to seducing Cole, basically EVEN forcing him to have her, then turning him down only to hint at continuation of their encounters casually, all the while she's still thinking of Daemon and then even pleads Daemon to take her and make her his wife... /Though I'd say it was pretty clear from the source material that Cole and Rhaenyra were strictly platonic IF anything and that most likely Daemon and Nyra did actually do at least something before they got married years later - but no, the writers apparently wanted some shock content + they obviously hate Daemon and Targaryen interbreeding, and the maturity at an early age of those old times is absolutely incomprehensible for them.), then taking away characters' agenda (Rhaenyra, Alicent), or creating an illusion of a strong friendship, almost romantic relationship, between two characters who actually hated each other (Rhaenyra, Alicent) making some characters way better than they were, defending their atrocities (Aegon,Aemon), making Rhaenyra subdue Daemon and blame him for warmongering, while in reality they were each other's mirrors and wanted the same. Hinting that Daemon only married Rhaenyra cuz he viewed her as "an extension of Viserys" whom he actually loved and wanted, or Daemon abusing Rhaenyra physically, choking her for sth Viserys had not told him (REALLY ??????), painting her out to be a victim of domestic violence, or Rhaenyra crying over a book page from Alicent after the Greens' betrayal and stopping Daemon from killing Otto, cuz as writers have mentioned (paraphrasing) "at that moment she saw Otto as her recently deceased father' i mean–– what in the.....???

And we could go on and on...

The examples of the inconsistencies and how HORRIBLY the HotD's Condal and Hess ruined everything are endless and i feel my blood boil just thinking about it............. at this point HotD seems to be just Hess and Condal's very, very bad, illogical fanfiction.

99% of our fandom's fanfics are billion times more logical than this MESS that HotD now is.... I actually cringe at some moments.... And you have no idea how scared i am of what i might see in HotD 2 ...

The only reason i watched and will watch the show is DAEMYRA... and by Daemyra i mean the book Daemyra and Matt and Milly's and Emma's performance and chemistry.

Got this pointed out to me.

In HotD's 7th episode, Daemon says to Rhaenyra he couldn't stay beside her or get into a relationship bc she was a child. However, he marries Laena, who in the show is much younger than Rhaenyra....

Another writing inconsistency.
