I will be that one ask for sub Itachi. Spill it I need to know

Oh God Anon you’ve done it now;

- Okay, so, Itachi still massacres his clan and everything, but ends up being given the chance to stay in the village (which is the most important part of this au lol)

-Sasuke still goes through The Night, but after an explanation from Itachi and the Hokage, somehwat understands the situation enough not to want to murder his brother.

-Because of the sensitive information Itachi knows, he is taken off ANBU and put as a regular jounin tasked with accompanying Kakashi on missions (to keep an eye on him).

-Later, when Kakashi recieves Team 7, Itachi is dragged along their training and missons as an obligation.

-Kakashi, being the lazy bum he is, often leaves Itachi with the dirty work that comes with being a sensei; paperwork filed for propery damage, clean-up, and of course, having to supervise basic endurance and chakra training.

-Oh, just a side point; Kakashi is technically suppose to look after Naruto, but only as a gaurd, not a gaurdian, so he knows the ins and outs of Naruto’s life.

-Itachi (poor guy) doesn’t know the first thing about teaching genin, and to make matters worse, his students are crazy.

-Naruto is hyperactive, Sasuke likes annoying Itachi to no end, and Sakura is a know-it-all who has his lessons memorized before he does. 

-I’d also like to mention that Sasuke is a lot less angstier (is that even a word lmao) in this au, because having Itachi continue to raise him (despite not knowing why his clan was slaughtered) is enough to draw out and quench any sort of revenge-oriented delemia (plus he loves his brother to bits, so having him around and knowing he’s ‘innocent’ is easier on his little soul).

-This change of attitude also leads to Sasuke befriending Naruto in a much more healthier environment (rather than sharing pain and trauma and such, though they still do that because come on this is Naruto we’re talking about).

-Sakura’s also a bit changed in the sense that she’s a lot more self reliant. Her training with Tsunade starts a bit after being assigned with Kakashi (she found out her passion for healing after patching up the boys so many times).

-Her dynamic with Ino isn’t, ya know’, as ‘I’m gonna’ get Sasuke-kun as a boyfriend’ oriented either, so their friendship is much more... playful?? Is that the right word???

-Oh, also Itachi finds out that Naruto lives by himself (fuck the third Hokage man,,,) and after seeing the hatred shown by the village, takes Naruto into his care because why the FUCK not. 

-That’s after Sasuke (though he will deny it to his grave) convinces him to let Naruto live with them.

-Kakashi also has a hand in the convincing (because this old man cares)

-Itachi doesn’t go on big missions unless Kakashi’s present, and so he hasn’t actually gone on a proper mission in a while.

-He just gets stuck watching a bunch of twelve-year-olds try to catch a frantic (and quite aggresive) cat.

-Itachi also knows how to cook really well (Sasuke loves his eggs so much so that it’s kind of unhealthy).

-Overall I’ve only really thought up until the chuunin exams with this au, so I have no idea what I’ll do after (and I’m not even going to look at Shippuden yet).

I’m pretty sure that’s not all, but yeah, that’s pretty much the base of it all.
