It's hard to see the purple yarn stripes between the yellow ones but I attempted a plaid mend! It was fun!!

also this sweater is double knit and the inside didn't get a hole, just the top layer. So to make it extra secure I tacked down all my thread ends:

This mend isn't going anywhere.

My brother's beloved pullover got eaten by moths, so I was allowed to use it to practice my darning. A lot of learning as I went, and you can sort of see which holes I started with and my skill slowly improving. Tried out different colour combinations and anchorings and all in all, very pleased with the results.

Fixing my pants

I can't stop lol.

I've been meaning to mend this hole in my favorite sweatpants for a while now. It's not a big hole but I wanted to practice sachiko stitches/boro mending so 🤷 I did!

Something incredibly satisfying about knowing your craft and the confidence that goes with it. Just the casual “yeah I could make that”. Want a band tee? Yeah I can embroider my own with the lyrics I want. Bridesmaid dress too long? Yeah I can hem it. Need new slippers? Yeah I can crochet a pair (and give them bunny ears). And of course it’s not perfect but nothing beats that feeling of being able to craft your own solution with your own two hands

More mends on the pair of climbing pants I was talking about! The first one is across the ass bc there was a hole there and the pocket seam was coming apart. The two others are in the front, along the seams of the knee reinforcement since those were ALSO falling apart!

Super proud of how they turned out, but eternally disappointed that REI brand pants have this much wear after less than one year of use. Ah well. At least they look cool now
