3. SINS Malfunction

In PAYDAY3 during Syntax Error heist Security Integrated Network System, or SINS, will identify heisters. When you disable both of its cooling systems, it starts malfunctioning and begins to confuse the six playable heisters from launch with six of the unavailable (at the time) heisters from PAYDAY2.

Joy gets confused for Clover (it was also the time when Clover's real name was revealed, wow!)

4. Game Mechanics

In PAYDAY2 there are only two stealth perk decks, Burglar and Hacker, which belong to Clover and Joy.

5. Safehouse Occupation

Clover is responsible for the surveillance and security system of the safehouse. Even though Joy joined the clown gang pretty late, Clover might have asked her for help with improvement of security, since Joy is a hacker and knows how to bypass the system.

I've just finished my Rhythm of War reread. Only the second time I've read it, the first being right after it came out. I think I liked it better the second time, having known more of how the story would play out before I started. I think it suffered the opposite problem of The Way of Kings, for me.

When I read The Way of Kings for the first time, I was waiting the entire book for the plot to start. Halfway through the book "Ugh, Kaladin's still in the chasms? Ugh, when's this Shallan subplot going to be relevant to what everyone else is doing?" I didn't know the destination, so I couldn't enjoy the journey.

Rhythm of War, when I first read it, I assumed the occupation of Urithiru was like the Siege of Kholinar was in Oathbringer. A fun little side adventure before everyone came back together for the climax. Then it took the entire rest of the book to be resolved. I kept turning down perfectly good stopping points to take a break because "well, the occupation hasn't been resolved yet, might as well keep reading until we get to the end of it."

I still think Dalinar's side quest to Tukar could've been handled better. "Ishar clowns on Bridge Four's third stringers" isn't exactly contributing to the main plot of the book. Seemed like it was more setup for a future book than necessary for this one.

I also feel like, despite being "Venli's book", Venli herself doesn't do nearly enough. All she does is enable other characters to act. Which, I guess, fits with her Ideal. Still would've been nice to see her do something a little more active than getting Lift out of jail.

Wind and Truth will have to wait, we're getting to the time of the week where my days are less my own. Saturday, we'll start. Hopefully be able to unblock those spoiler tags by the 10th.

alright, that was an awkward way to start the post, but basically I’m making a Circus BSD RP AU! :D

anyone can use OCs and canon characters, but they have to have some sort of circus job (ex: clown, acrobat, stagehand, etc.), i.e why it’s a circus AU! these characters keep their abilities, though whether they use it in their line of work is up to you; the only request I have as far as this is if you’re using a canon character, I’d prefer if you kept their ability the same :).

I’ll make a master list with everyone sometime, which will be linked in my intro post, as well as the intro post of my character, so look out for that!

Since diapers he’s treated reality like a choose-your-own-demolition comic: panel one, lightning hits the crib; panel two, baby Nico coos “try harder.” So when the Brotherhood’s door-kickers found a one-year-old booby-trapping his playroom, he didn’t feel “rescued.” He felt summoned.

Snatched from the wreckage by Brotherhood hunters, his parents ghosted out by something with claws and monster eyes. The vacancy that swap carved in his chest still crackles—an ember he can’t shake loose. His creed: “Main-character energy or spontaneous combustion, whichever comes first.”

2 ▸ ZERO AFFECT MIRROR

(raised by a crowd, reflected by none)

No mom, no dad, just a rotating cast of grizzled mentors whose parenting style was 30% ballistics and 70% black coffee. Nico studied them like reruns, then bootlegged their best lines. Sympathy? Smile like Sergeant Mule-Kick. Sarcasm? Steal Captain Side-Eye’s eyebrow quirk. Tears? Never tested; the Brotherhood doesn’t do wet work that way.

Internally he’s radio silent; externally he’s a jukebox of borrowed emotions. One minute heart-wrenching sincerity, next minute dead-eyed apathy—needle scratch, new track. It wasn’t gentle or gradual; it detonated—red smoke and ringing ears—stamping a shape into his ribcage he’s never managed to sand down. He main-lined the sensation the way other people breathe. Stole city skylines for moonlit rendezvous, tagged rooftops with neon hearts, fired bottle rockets that spelled their initials because Romeo never thought big enough.

When the lover ran—grief, terror, plain survival instinct—Nico’s pulse red-lined. Rejection translated directly to MORE GAS. He doubled the stunts, tripled the risk, and torched every street that still smelled like their cologne. Lesson branded into bone: affection is a collision you schedule yourself. Ever since, raw impulse is his holy scripture; hesitation is blasphemy. If the angel on his shoulder whispers “maybe slow down,” Nico tears off its wings and repurposes them.

Wordless, he invented Serrano-sign—half gang tag, half interpretive stab dance—and snagged a sketchy mind-voice pendant that crackles like broken radio. When it glitches, he carves sentences into drywall, or forearms, whichever’s closer. Losing speech didn’t hush him; it uncuffed him. Now every thought arrives raw and jagged straight into your cortex: “Hi, welcome to my TED Talk on Screaming.”

5 ▸ MORAL COLORBLINDNESS

(Brotherhood = technicolor, everything else = grayscale targets)

Morality for Nico is a one-bit graphic: Brotherhood pixels glow neon; the rest could be static for all he cares. He’ll rescue a rookie he hates because family, then leave an entire apartment block to burn because not family. Ask him about collateral damage and he tilts his head like you just questioned gravity.

He does love—fiercely, protectively, violently—but only inside that ring of neon. The supernatural stole his parents; the Brotherhood filled the vacancy. Anyone threatening that math is pre-approved for liquidation. Ammo’s expensive; your life is cheaper.

6 ▸ STRATEGIC SADISM

Nico doesn’t hunt; he hosts field trips. Newly minted hunters join for “extended learning,” which translates to: busting through windows, zip-tying nightmares for close-up study, pop-quizzing rookies while the monster is still twitching.

Educational highlights include:

“Map That Artery” — label spurting veins before they stop.

“Fear Is Just Data” — Nico fires live rounds near trainees’ ears; if they flinch, next quiz is closer.

“Group Project” — everyone gets a scalpel and a stopwatch; teamwork grades curve toward brutality.

The cruelty is calibrated; the syllabus written in blood because red ink fades too quickly. Command sanctions the curriculum—casualty rates plummet among hunters, spike among monsters. Everyone passes or bleeds trying.

7 ▸ CHARM OFFENSIVE

You’d think constant mayhem would sour morale. Nope. Nico is the Brotherhood’s living meme—part hype-man, part demolition derby clown. He zip-lines into meetings wielding glitter bombs. He programs the gun range coffeemaker to play “3OH!3” and dispense espresso spiked with holy water.

Even the brass chuckle (nervously) because recruitment numbers spike every time he uploads a hunt highlight reel: Nico riding a ghoul like a surfboard, flipping the devil horns, hearts doodled on screen. The Brotherhood's HR ulcer would throb, but they don't have an HR department.

EPILOGUE ▸ BANG, GIGGLE, RELOAD

Nicolás Serrano is TNT packed in a clown car: multicolored, music blaring, fuse already lit. He lives three inches ahead of the present tense, convinced God gave him nine lives and a coupon for ten more. Psychologists might slap diagnostic stickers across his file; Nico would peel them off to make confetti.

He’s chaos with loyalty, violence with a punch-line, a machete wrapped in gift paper. The Brotherhood keeps him around because victory tastes better dipped in wildfire—and because some monsters need to be out-crazy’d before they die.

Personality: The most normal of the Yuhara-Akagawa siblings. Shunsuke is a very nihilistic young boy, easily annoyed and rather timid. He's more the kind to listen instead of speaking. Unlike Vanessa or Valerie, he never says what he's actually thinking until told to do so (or if he finds it fortunate). He doesn't like being completely alone, and enjoys spending time with Shiho because she understands he likes silence. He feels calm whenever he picks up an instrument and plays some tunes.

Shunsuke learned from Valerie the art of sarcasm, and abuses it constantly, unless around her, because she usually answers it back. He has a bit of fear and respect for his older sisters, while for Kenichi, he thinks he's a clown and doesn't take him seriously, but, despite thinking of his siblings as annoying, he does love them and defends their honour whenever someone in the neighbourhood talks badly about them, although he's unaware of why Red Cerberus exists.

Story:

Shunsuke was a quiet and shy kid who had to be encouraged to socialise. Valerie would take him to children's parks in hopes he might make some friends, but would hardly do anything besides swinging. Then, a little bit later, Shun saw her playing guitar and got interested in the thing. His mother and sister then taught him about music, which turned out to be his main interest. 

He's very fond of his mother, usually spending time with her when his siblings aren't home, but when they are, he goes to his father's office, where it's quiet, while playing video games. 

TRIVIA AND HEADCANONS:

FAMILY HISTORY: The Hayashi are direct descendants of the founder of the Hayashi clan, Hayashi Razan, formerly known as Hayashi Nobukatsu, who also founded a clan school in the 1700s, which is nowadays a Confucian temple in Tokyo where the sisters’ parents often took them over the years. They raised their children in the Confucian philosophy, aiming to instil in them ancestor worship and ghoul-centered virtues for living a peaceful life. A phrase that they told the two girls often was “Do not do unto others what you would not want others to do unto you.”, which is the golden rule of Confucianism.

They are the great-great-great granddaughters of the 10th (and last) Daigaku no Kami, Hayashi Gakusai, formerly Hayashi Noboru, head of the temple Yushima Seidō in Tokyo in 1867. He died 80 years before Junko's birth and was the first to have a child with a ghoul, in 1860, unknowingly at first but with his Confucian philosophy, he eventually accepted her true nature as he loved her dearly. They set a trend in the family and their children married and had children with ghouls but hid their nature well and were very peaceful, so they never drew any unwanted attention to themselves. The Hayashi sister's father was first married to a human before meeting their mother and having them. He fell in love with a young human woman and tied the knot with her in 1955. She fell pregnant but the pregnancy killed her; she died basically eaten from the inside by her baby who didn't survive either and his wife and son died in 1957. He became greatly depressed after that, spending his days at the temple or at the graveyard until his good friend, whom he had gone to college with, the heir to the Tsukyama empire, Murimo Tsukiyama, offered him a job at his father's company.

He began working there in the early 60s and from then on, he didn't interact with human much and was often thought to be snobbish as he basically ignored and disregarded them. In 1978, he met a 23-year-old young woman, also a ghoul a she began working as a front desk attendant at the company he worked at. Despite being twice his age, the two grew closer and becama couple in the early 1980s, having their first child in 1986, a daughter, Junko. By then, he was a higher-up at the company and could provide for the family on his own so his wife decided to quit her job and become a stay-at-home mom. To her, her child was the most beautiful thing she could ever have in her life. That is why she named her “pure child”. The couple would often be invited over at the Tsukiyama manor for diner, and they presented their first child to them, a few months after she was born. As a child, Junko started displaying traits and behaviours that her parents for some reason overlooked. She never felt any guilt or remorse over eating human flesh and never thought it was strange to like the sight of blood. When she was 7 years old, her mother got pregnant again and gave birth to her younger sister, Riona and the arrival of this baby really forced their parents to admit to themselves that something was wrong with their eldest daughter. She wasn’t the pure baby they thought they had. Junko had a strong dislike for her sister from the start. She thought she looked weak, and viewed her as an enemy from the start.

As a child, Riona looked up to her sister and idolized her, worshipping the ground she walked on and following her around which annoyed Junko but her sister kept coming back even when she pushed her away and she realized she could do whatever she wanted with her so she made her do things for her, treating like a pet rather than her little sister. She was often told by her parents to be nicer to her sister but she was pretty convincing and always managed to get them on her side. When Riona was 6 and Junko 13, she pushed her sister down a flight of stairs and because they're ghouls, they heal quickly so she would do it multiple times a week, leaving enough times for her to heal before their parents saw it and doing it again. When she was 15 and Riona 8, one of Junko's classmates, whose younger brother was Riona's classmates, bullied Riona. Junko didn't take kindly to her toy being used by someone else so she got into a fight with the boy, breaking his nose and biting off his earlobe with her teeth. He was sent to the hospital. The Tsukiyama helped sweeping the whole thing under the rug and the boy was expelled while Junko was pulled out of school by her parents and began being homeschooled by her mother. One evening that same year, she hunted down the boy and stalked him and cornered him in an alleyway where she tear off his tongue so he couldn't scream and began torturing him, eating him alive and disemboweling him.

Around the same time she began hearing about things happening in the 4th ward and thought it sounded pretty cool and entertaining. There was a ruthless gang that basically ruled the area. She wanted to know about it and see it for herself so she tried to find a way to get their attention. She was from the 20th ward and no one had ever heard of her there so the moment she stepped there and began hunting there, she stuck out like a sore thumb and became a target of the gang since it was their hunting grounds. That's also when she was first called the Chimera as no one ever told her it was strange for a ghoul to have two kagunes. Until then she had no idea. The rumour of a "chimera" ghoul hunting in the 4th ward spread quickly because she would attack other ghouls but leave them alive so it could get to the gang members and leader. After the second attack, she also began cannibilizing the ghouls she attacked, eating flesh from their thighs, arms and bellies. It tasted gross compared to human meat but it was fun to her and she kept doing it. By the time Uta finally caught up with her - it took a few weeks because during the day she was in the 20th ward and no one knew so at first he thought people were fucking with him and he murdered those telling him there was a chimera ghoul and he shut them up saying it didn't exist and he thought it must have a lone ghoul attacking people and ghouls at night -, she had attacked and cannibalized half a dozen ghouls and almost ate and killed twice as many humans.

They faced off one day and showed to be of equal strength until she showed her two kagunes which shocked the gang members and only further picked Uta's curiosity. No one had ever seen a chimera ghoul. There she met Yomo, who was the one to step in and put an end to the fight when it was clear neither Junko nor Uta was going to prevail and he talked Uta into allowing Junko to join the gang. She became a member that night and didn't go back home which got her parents incredibly worried. Her mother was worried for her eldest daughter's safety while her father was more worried for the humans, and other ghouls, of wherever she had ran off to. Riona was only 9 and didn't really know what was going on. Their father spoke with the Tsukiyama patriarch, and his old friend, Mirumo and they sent men working for their organization to look for Junko. The orders were clear: look for her, find her whereabouts but DO NOT engage. She was young but they knew she was ruthless and a chimera which already made her a threat, even to older ghouls.

A week later, it was brought to Mirumo's attention that a chimera ghoul was wrecking havoc with the 4th ward gang. He asked them to confirm if it was Junko and they did; it was her, and from what they were told, she was close to the gang's leader and right arm. Her mother desperately wanted her daughter back and asked her husband to find a way to bring her home but Mirumo and him decided against it and left her to her own device, thinking that, eventually, she would be caught by the CCG and they would put an end to the threat she was but less than a year later, as Junko turned 17, her mother ventured in the 4th ward. By then, the CCG was actively searching for the ghoul they had nicknamed "the Chimera", alrealy labelled a SS+ ghoul, having no idea it was a teenager who. They knew of her cannibal tendencies and speculated she must have a kakuja as well though there was yet to be a report of her using it in combat. By then, her Rc cells level was SO high that her kakugan couldn't be turned off anymore.

Her mother was brought to Uta and Junko one night after letting herself be captured and she pleaded with her daughter. The latter turned a deaf ear to her mother's words and began attacking her, activating her kakuja at some point, shocking her mother. She destroyed her body to the point her mother had to crawl on the ground to move. She also crushed her spine, completely losing it. That evening, her father noticed his wife's absence and instantly knew where she must have gone off to. He went there with a few other men and found Junko's murdering her own mother. She didn't listen to him as he tried to talk to her, her kakuja having already gotten to her too badly and she murdered, on her own, her father and his detail. When CCG agents showed up, the gang members either managed to flee or were killed. Yomo and Uta watched the fight from a rooftop because Uta refused to leave and if he couldn't fight he was gonna watch. Junko's face was already kind of covered by her kakuja and the fight lasted half an hour but she killed the special agents and fought until exhaustion where she just collapsed to the ground and was picked up by Yomo. The fight and use of the kakuja had taken a toll on her body and mind and it took a while for her to recover.

The gang lied low for the next year or so. Riona was 10 when the massacre of the 4th ward happened and was taken in by the Tsukiyama and raised alongside Shuu and his cousin. Meanwhile Uta and Junko got into a relationship. She controlled her kakuja better too but at Yomo's advice, rarely used it, almost never really. By the time the trio entered their early 20s, the gang was no more and they kind of settled down. By the time they were in their mid 20s, Uta now had his mask shop, Yomo began working and helping the Anteiku and their friend Itori had her bar. Junko lived a carefree life, staying home, sometimes being a special guest at the Ghouls' restaurant. She was almost royalty among the Ghouls for the rarity of her condition, a chimera ghoul who also had a kakuja, but she was also greatly feared and people treaded lightly around her and being Uta's muse. She also struck a deal with the Anteiku, promising not to cause another massacre in any other ward and they thought she realy held up her end of the deal but really she was a member of the Clowns with Uta.

PERSONALITY : Like her sister and Uta, she has a very nice way of speaking and seems friendly when you meet her but the smile on her face quickly becomes creepy. She is very manipulative and a great liar and doesn't show remorse. She used to abuse her sister when the latter was a child, manipulating and gaslighting her. She lacks empathy and doesn't care about anyone but herself and is unfazed by most things. As a teenager, she was savage and sadistic and liked to see other ghouls fight each other - the fights were always very violent - and she showed to be brutal and ruthless, torturing someone for the first time when she was just 14, before eating him alive. It was fun to her.

Like Uta, she is quite hedonistic and sadistic in nature, which is probably why they got along so well and grew closer quickly, feeding off each other's inner chaos. Despite all this, she can show concern for others, though you gotta take it with a grain of salt. She shows genuine concern for Uta, for example when he fights Yomo. She had fun watching the fight but was very worried about him at the end as Yomo carries him on his back. She also sometimes shows concern for her sister, which does not erase the fact she abused her, but for example, the first human she ever tortured and ate was a boy that bullied Riona in junior high school and there are times when she fought with other ghouls, Junko would watch, until she was no longer entertained which happened when her sister got hurt. She would instantly step in and brutally kill the other ghoul.

Her relationship with Uta was ironically the least toxic of all the relationships she ever had - though being the only romantic one - because Uta and Junko see themselves as equal and never abused each other but their relationship was quite peculiar but it worked for them. Uta had a sort of eye fetish so when she played with her victims and then killed the, she would pluck their eyes out with her own fingers and bring them to Uta. She sometimes bit his lip when they kissed, just to taste his blood and they also sometimes bit flesh off each other, basically eating each other which aroused them.

Unlike Uta, she didn't develop this personality because of traumas or hardships she might have gone through in her childhood or things she witnessed, because her family was rather well off, though not wealthy like the Tsukiyama. She was just born like that and it got worse when her sister was born which seemed to be the trigger for her violent and abusive tendencies. She actually suffers - it doesn't really feel like suffering to her - from antisocial personality disorder. Because of the disorder, and the fact she remains undefeated among ghouls, she never learns from negative experiences and remains the same. Only after Uta kind of changes his views of the world does she question her behavior. She agrees to let others support her and though the lack of actual empathy remains, she manages her condition better and improved her behavior and her relationship with Riona and she reduced the harm she put her through.

APPEARANCE : Junko is a beautiful woman to the point it is almost creepy and the smile that always stretches her lips is just as scary and intimidating. In Tokyo Ghoul, she has mid-back lenght hair. In RE, and the time skip, her hairstyle has changed, adding bangs similar to that her sister had in S1 & 2 (her sister actually started letting her bangs grow out when Junko got hers) and her hair now reached the very bottom of her back. She also has tattoos all over her body, like Uta (see post time skip pic, she got them in her mid 20s)

Junko always dresses in black and her regular clothes are a turtleneck, with long sleeves, black pants and she always goes out with sunglasses to hide her eyes because her kakugan is constantly on (Because of her chimera nature, her RC level was naturally higher when she was born but her inability to turn it off came about when she started actively cannibalizing and stopped eating humans altogether - funfact: Uta greatly enjoyed/enjoys watching her fight and eat other ghouls). At home she always wears a black, kimono-like robe, with of course nothing underneath. It goes on to show how provocative she wants to be in private, because she is also dressed like that when people run into her when coming to see Uta. It amuses her to see them being embarrassed and awkwardly try to keep looking at her face. And, really, she couldn't be bothered to get dressed for any other reason than having to go outside.

PERSONALITY : The Confucian philosophy greatly influences Riona's character. She comes off as a gentle and friendly young woman. She always has a sweet smile stretching her lips, and seems efortlessly elegant. She's also actually nice, caring and trustworthy and even though she is Shuu's fiancé, and Junko's sister, she's not manipulative and deceiving at all but that doesn't mean she's an open book either. People she interacts with and befriends always feel like they know her and easily see through her when they really don't. She's stronger than she lets on, though still weaker than the likes of Junko or Uta, for example.

She's also very selfless and puts Shuu's needs before hers. The latter had poor control over his emotions, with intense outbursts or "meltdowns" and she was always the one who had to deal with him. She showed great patience in those moments. He would always then gets to his knees and cry, his arms around her waist. She wouldn't react to him until he stopped and would just stand there.

In the early days of Tokyo Ghoul, she was pretty much like this already though she was less confident but again, she never showed it. During her adolescence, she was more self-conscious because she wasn't sure that the feelings she had for Shuu were reciprocate and she also felt unworthy of him reciprocating her feelings because she felt inferior to him because though she lived in the Tuskiyama's manor, she didn't feel like Shuu's equal. His father had only become her guardian since she became an orphan after her parents' murder and despite the ancient history of her family, the wealth they might have had had been watered down through the generations.

At the time, Shuu had trouble understanding other people's emotions - he viewed their only human friend, Chie Hori, as a pet - but he did care about Riona as she was one of the only people he valued. Knowing this made her feel better and realize he had actually always viewed her as a friend and equal. They even began dating when they were around 16 and Shuu's intetions were very clear from the beginning. He intended to marry her and after telling his father of their relationship, Mirumo Tuskiyama betrothed the two teenagers. They married when they turned 18 and began going to college.

Since that time, he wasn't well-liked by their classmates and other ghouls for his kind of haughty behavior and on the contrary, Riona was very well-liked by both classmates and professor and people really wanted to be her friend but she rarely hung out with anyone other than Shuu and Hori.

Regarding her sister, Riona has become quite scared of Junko. When she was younger, she idolized her and basically worshiped the ground she walked on despite the fact that throughout her childhood, she was abused both physically and mentally by Junko but she kept coming back to her. This toxic relationship "stopped" when Junko was forced to leave Tokyo. Riona was 12 or 13 at the time. Even as an adult, Riona is still fearful of Junko and she hides behind the power that's carried by the Tsukiyama name. Maybe the treatment she suffered at her sister's hand is the main reason for her overly selfless and nice personality as an adult. When Junko came back to Tokyo, and let her sister know, Riona became quite paranoid, never feeling at ease - she was right to be on her guards because Junko spent most of her days stalking her when Riona was still in college. It was so much that sometimes, at the end of the day, she broke down in tears, comforted by Shuu, telling her he and his family would keep her safe.

APPEARANCE : Rei is a really pretty young woman, just slightly shorter than her older sister. Her kakugan isn't always on, unlike Junko, and her eyes are grey. She has long black hair and until the end of Tokyo Ghoul season 2, she also has blunt bangs which by the end of it turn into curtain bangs as she bleaches one side of her hair, giving this dual black and white look. During the year before Tokyo Ghoul: RE, her sister cuts similar bangs so Rei ditches hers and let them grow out, regularly bleaching her roots to. She sticks to that look until the 6-year long time skip where she stops bleaching her hair after doing it for four years as it's damaging it and she was pregnant by the end of RE so she stopped. She goes back to plain black hair and most often wears them in a low bun.

Regarding her clothes, in Tokyo Ghoul, her regular outfit consists of a black mao neck jacket with gold buttons and black dress pants, she also sometimes wears a black yukata with flowers or a form fitting black dress when going to the Ghoul restaurant. By the end of Tokyo Ghoul and throughout Tokyo Ghoul: RE, her style seems less elegant. She wears a black zipped hoodie with white kanji on the left sleeve. After the time skip and becoming a mother, she starts wearing blouse dresses.

After the timeskip, she's just 31, while her sister is pushing 40 but when the two are around each other, people mistake the sisters for twins though they are 7 years apart, as they look like they're the same age which is because Rei does not cannibalize other ghouls unlike her sister, who has managed to look almost 10 years younger after exclusively and regularly eating ghouls since her late teens.

Given how I was replaying older Pokemon games, it was no brainer that I’d decided to replay Pokemon Black. The last time I played Pokemon Black was eleven years ago! Look at my crappy team back then! I beat both main game and post game with Simisear, Unfezant and Emolga! How? Well, my current team isn’t all sunshines and rainbows too as I used rather unorthodox Pokemon.

Anyways, Pokemon Black was one of the best Pokemon experiences I had in my youth and replaying it again this year was another good experience! In my opinion, it’s one of the best Pokemon games of all time and it has aged very well since its release. I’ve been there when it was the “black sheep” of the franchise at the time, but the general opinion have changed and I’m glad that it did.

Pokemon Black had a more focused story than its predecessor and I think that was the reason why it was so charming since Pokemon games were mainly a “figure-it-out-yourself” sort of story. The themes of truth and ideals were poignant from start to finish. Other than the story, I found the characters to be very charming. I really like how the characters feel very human in a way. The Gym Leaders have second occupations in addition to being Gym Leaders and it makes them feel like they’re actual people and not goals to progress through the game. Cheren and Bianca were excellent rivals that encompasses the themes of truths and ideals with their stories of finding the truth about his goals (Cheren) and finding the ideal future for herself (Bianca). Above all else, Team Plasma makes an excellent villain group because they’re so incorporated into their scheme of liberation that it actually affects people. Some people actually release their Pokemon while some become in doubt. In the midst of Team Plasma resides N, the leader. N is a fascinating character in his own right. He is someone who stands by truths and ideals to the bitter end; however, it was because he was brainwashed since he was young to be the king of Team Plasma and believe that liberation is the foundation to an ideal world. The true villain is Ghetsis who reveals that his scheme of liberation would be so that he’d be the only person with Pokemon and that would mean he could overthrow the innocent people and become a tyrannical ruler. After defeating Ghetsis, N realizes the errors of his ways and flies off with the Pokemon opposite of the version of you’re playing and the world is saved. The fact that there are consequences in N and Team Plasma’s actions and such really hits it a notch.

Gameplay-wise, the battle system is the usual turn-based but it’s a lot faster. Because this is the one of the few instances where you use region-based Pokemon only, the Unovan Pokemon are the only usable ones for the main game. I do like how fast the usual 2D battles go in this game, but I really disliked how only Unovan Pokemon were only selectable. Don’t get me wrong; it’s a unique idea and all, but the fact that Unovan Pokemon are cursed with either taking too long to evolve or falling off after a certain point really irks me. It took a while for my Vanillite to evolve all the to Vanilluxe. Also, this game made it so that some Pokemon are faster to train while some are slower. Good luck trying to raise a slow experience-gaining Pokemon.

This generation also introduced Triple and Rotation Battles, but unfortunately, they aren’t used as much as Double Battles, which is a shame because it’s a unique idea. The fact that they introduced a new battle system but did very little with it feels like a waste and a bit pointless. However, I did enjoy Rotation Battles a lot! I wish it could be used more. In place of the Battle Tower and Battle Frontier, there is a Battle Subway, but it’s super tedious. I once almost had 21 win streaks, but a clown with a Leavanny came and destroyed my team at Round 20. It’s extremely complex, and the fact that it’s optional makes it good; I don’t need to stress myself out for something optional. They also introduced musicals which is kind of like Contests, but musicals; since Unova is based on New York, it’s an homage to Broadway. To be honest, I’m not too sure what the purpose of Musicals are but it’s a fun thing to do.

After you beat the main game, post game starts. Post game is just helping Looker find the Seven Sages and that’s basically it. You can get access to East Unova where Pokemon from different regions are now accessible as well as access to three new towns. One town, Undella Town, is where Cynthia is having vacation in; she’s basically a super boss in a way. Post game can have you catch the Legendaries if you haven’t done so, challenge Cynthia, rematch the Elite Four, battle Alder, and rematch Cheren and Bianca. There’s a lot to do, so it feels fulfilling to wander about.

In all honesty, this is a splendid Pokemon game for old and new fans to dive into if they want a challenging Pokemon game with a story; the challenging aspect is selecting Pokemon that fits your play style. However, if you can overcome the challenges thrown at you in this game, it’s a guaranteed fun experience! This is one Pokemon game I would totally recommend to any Pokemon fan!

Happy little Freaks: a concept.

(This is just for shits n giggles so please don’t hate or attack me for anything this is just for fun lol. Unless it gets serious then I will be more than glad to keep working on it :) )

Happy little freaks is a Horror concept based on another horror project “Welcome Home” by Partycoffin/Clown.

I do not take credit for any of their work,content, ideas, characters, art, or any association involving his project. Everything and anything that involves their content does NOT belong to me in any way, shape, or form. And all that is stated is completely fictional, and definitely fanmade. I know nothing of the plot or story behind welcome home (as hoping for all of you). And I don’t intend to assume it’s story, it’s simply a work of fiction.

Some concept names for this story will be preferred to be called: Ring of smiles/Happy little freaks/Take your seats! Or Jaws of fun! For now however, it will be called Happy little freaks.

This is an Alternate Story where before Welcome Home was created, before they even existed. A project called Happy little freaks, An innocent little show about a circus with clowns, animals, ballerinas, sometimes acrobats and skits as well.

It mainly focused on circus shows and skits. The main character Magnolia, was considered the “Ringmaster” despite being female, she represented pride in one’s self. To be what you want to be no matter what you are, to have fun and get the spotlight at the same time.

However before Welcome Home(or during the circus), she had a different name, a different voice, and a different personality as well. But what should deprive from her old self is lost. Because of her renewed personality and body, she unfortunately can’t remember or recall anything from her past life. So for know, until more of herself is revealed, she’ll stick to her Neighborhood name, Magnolia.

Before they could air their show, they had some Families with children to come into their studio to point out the things they liked and didn’t like. So this way they could know if they would reach the right audience.

1. Charlie Charmer:

The main character close to Magnolia was closest to was Charlie, a friendly, silly clown with a whole collection of charms. They were seen as a couple, a lowly clown and the Ringmaster. Charlie was a raggedy boy with an eye for acrobatics. However he is scared of heights, he still loves to watch them perform. Charlie is also seen as a cunning little fellow, almost like a sneaky spice dancer. He danced, sung, juggled almost anything you can give him, anything to impress the audience. Charlie charmer, the lackey, right hand man to Magnolia. The families (mostly the kids) found some sort of relationship with him, like an imaginary friend or someone you can dream of to comfort you.

2. Silvia Slithers.

And let’s not forget that dynamic duo! Silvia Slithers ought’a give you shivers! Which her outstanding twists, curls, and flips! She can be seen on Magnolias shoulder, arms, or around her neck. Some ideas to why she doesn’t appear in most art pieces is because of the pun “There’s a snake in my boot!”. Silvia slithers is seen as a partner, as in like a best friend to Magnolia for her love for snakes and cats. Silvia’s occupation is ring sport, acrobatics, and simple circus tricks. She can sometimes be seen in the corners of your eye! She’s a mischievous character and she always loves to see something new every day. She’s seen as a bit of a troublemaker but she still enjoys the presence of her friends. As some audiences would find her disturbing or weirdly ominous, some parents even hated her design because she was the serpent that tempted Eve, but she takes nothing from no one. Besides that her disposition focuses on slyness, lying, and teaching kids to be brave and to sometimes lie your way out of things.

3. Kitty Katerina:

Then there is that feral feline! Kitty Katerina, the circus cat, and also the fluffiest cat you’ll ever meet! Katerina has an impulsive personality, as she is known for randomly pouncing on people and being the villain/beast in their shows. Katerina towers over the rest of the cast as she is the tallest character! She enjoys scaring people, giving people riddles to solve, and her favorite; playing with yarn. She has a very cat like personality (obviously) which involves getting into peoples space, making biscuits, clawing at the curtains and basically anything that would bust anyones chops. She enjoys junk food like ice cream and candy apples, but her ultimate favorite are corn dogs! Some sketches of her are always her holding or having one in her mouth! But aside from that, she is a nice feline. As she would be the first to welcome new audiences and children love her! As they find her extremely fluffy and huggable.

4. Annie Eight-legs (thinking of changing/replacing/removing):

Now we can’t forget about the delicious sweets and snacks! Don’t want anyone to take any without paying!(you know kids!) Meet Annie Eight-legs, The keeper of the things you can eat at the circus. Foods like Popcorn, candy apples, cotton candy etc. Instead of catching flies, she catches snacks! She hangs on her web eating for someone to come by to get something. But be careful! She has an eye for tricks and pranks! Just like any of the circus members there, she is just as vibrant. Annie has more of a spider like body, making her a little scarier than the rest of the cast. But since she takes care of the food, people aren’t so scared of her! She has a, rather impulsive disposition than the others. Like having an eye for shiny, or sparkly things like watches, diamonds, and of course, lights. She is attracted to bright, colorful lights which is why when she’s not with the food, she’s at the circus! Making sure nobody causes too much trouble. The kids find her a bit scary, but some love her personality, teaching them tricks, mischief and how to deal with things. Always quick on her eight legs and never gets them tangled up. The parents aren’t very fond of her because she’s a spider, and who likes spiders right? But still, Anna is there to help kids get over their fears, and to sometimes cause a little mischief.

5. Magic Twins (Manny⚣ & Marley⚢):

But of course, a circus must always have some magicians to raise the thrill! Meet the magic twins, They are quite literally connected! With their amazing skills and juggling tricks, they turn up the applause, despite being conjoined twins, it won’t stop them from doing what they love! The left twin is named Marley (female) and the right twin is Manny (Male). Both have a taste for trouble, mischief and entertainment of course! Parents find them creepy because they are literally connected to eachother, while the children feel the same way. Unfortunately they weren’t very popular at all.

6. Jackie-Jester (contemplating hard on design):

And for this funky Vibe, There must be a specific mascot to match it! Jackie-Jester, the joyous and funky clown of the circus! Also one of Magnolias close friends, As she take strong interests in clowns and anyone out of the ordinary! Jackie-Jester performs some dare-devil acts that’ll leave you shivering! Like sword swallowing, juggling torches, and the iconic sword throwing, she has either Magnolia or a fellow clown on the target, but Magnolia tends to turn up the heat! Leaving the audience chattering their teeth as they pray to the lord above that the ring-master herself doesn’t accidentally get impaled or hurt from the swords! But don’t worry, when Jackie is doing it, it’s completely safe.

7. Daisy-Dewdrop (Contemplating on design):

And with circus excitement, there must also be a time where people need to relax a bit. Take a break from all the crowds and noise! Daisy Dewdrop is the circus blossom, a calm yet musical flower indeed! She plants flowers and even some small sprouts around the circus’ tent. And yes, the flowers she plants are alive like her. While an intermission or when the crew it taking a break, her team of sprouts and flowers sing relaxing remedies! A truly wonderful feeling especially when in a place where everyone is always screaming and cheering. Daisy seems to like music and harmonies, however, she doesn’t actually participate in circus activities. She either idly watches or sometimes she decorates the tent with her luxurious wreaths of white magnolias and bright roses! Don’t worry, she makes sure which flowers are alive and which aren’t! Families find her a good role model for young girls because of her lack of work and idleness. However, she was created to show that even with limited opportunities to do things (she’s fragile as a flower), you can still do the tiniest things, and people around you will appreciate it for what it is. Like Magnolia taking a liking to her flowers, and often attaches one to her top hat! Some art includes magnolia wearing various types of flowers on her hat! Sometimes one, and sometimes many! On some occasions she takes her hat off, and is seen wearing a black dahlia, or sometimes a Rhododendron flower(she takes favor in flowers with deep meanings, but! Mainly because they are exotic!). Magnolia also own a bouquet of lavenders and Aspen flowers. These flowers she adores so much. And with Daisy’s popularity, she is only noticed for how “calm” and “fragile” she is. She is barely recognized for her work and representation.

8. Two-Faced Willow(contemplating on changing name or title):

Moving onto the two-faced clown, wasn’t as popular like the magic twins. However, Two-faced Willow was created to express different emotions, to show that it was okay to feel different about people sometimes. Two-Faced Willow would constantly change her emotions, she was either Sad, or Happy. It literally spills it in her name. All separated emotions deprived from each side of her. If she was angry, she would be on the sad side, if she was excited, she would be on her happy side. Same with Normal and other calm emotions too. Any other negative emotions hanged along with her sad side. She was the only character with a somewhat light or pale color scheme. Well, at least in her natural side, which was there to only represent her main design; and different colors meant different emotions. Her natural side would be calm and relaxed, like nothing to worry about. Her main job has to do with trying to get a laugh out of the audience by constantly changing her emotions, getting them confused and somewhat tricking them. “Oh no, I’ve lost my lollipop again! I’m so sad, I think I might start to cry. -she digs her hands into the pockets of her costume, she has a surprised expression and changes her side- oh wouldya lookie here! I found it! Not so sad anymore is it?”. Is only an example of what she would do. Children find her a little frightening, since she’s pretty loud when she talks, especially on her bad side. And parents don’t really have any sympathy for her, since all she can do is switch and switch. As mentioned, she wasn’t really popular.

9. Ringmaster Magnolia (Real name unknown):

And we can’t forget the main host! Ringmaster Magnolia, the star of the show. Always getting the attention and love from the audience, always known for having the whitest, strongest teeth. As a reminder to children to always brush their teeth, so they can look like her. Magnolia was always such a daredevil, always taking risks for the audience. Her favorite thing to snack on are candy apples! It’s never too hard or too sweet for her to chew on, nothing her jaws can’t handle. She’s always sponsored holding at least one candy apple. She always appreciates her workers and company, she like the roar of applause because it makes her feel whole. She has an eye for any outcasts, people who are looked down on by society, she finds them fascinating for who and what they are. No matter what they look like, she treats them as equal as anyone. They make her happy, in which you can never catch her frown or cry, she’s always accompanied with a wide grin on her face! And let’s not forget about her image, she is always best with being as fashionable as possible for her audience, to show off her skill while also having fun. However, no one knows for sure if she was a she, at all. Because if you look at the cast, there was no female actress to play the voice of Magnolia, but a male actor. No one knows his name for sure, however that is still being worked on. Why would Magnolia have a masculine voice if she was clearly a strong feminine figure? No one knows just yet. But her unsolved name could be an answer, she had a different name when in the show (if you didn’t already know, Magnolia only appears in Welcome Home, that name is only to fill in for the unknown one). The mystery still remains unsolved, but there is more to come from that. After all, she was much beloved by the parents. And the children loved even the sight of her, as she was the star of the show. However, some families didn’t want their children watching when she was onscreen, because they didn’t agree with her personality. And the fact that she looks painfully similar to the beloved protagonist of Welcome Home, could be another answer as well.
